We walked in and I did not like the writings on the walls as it felt like I was eating in a dirty place but we thought we would give it a try. My daughter 7 loved the freedom giving and wanted to add to the experience so she commented on everything she read and we allowed this until she started to describe a finger with a lost nail. We come here often! The day before yesterday we visited about 8:30 pm and we have made the decision to never ever give this place our hard earned money! I will never step foot here again. Ordered sausage with our boil bag. This added $3.99 plus tax to our bill. The sausage didn't seemed like it was cooked or perhaps they changed vendors because the sausage never looked like this! No big deal we tell the manager and she says they can make more, but we were so grossed out we just decided we didn't want it anymore. The manager says well I'm sorry, no refunds! I told the manager i am not asking for a refund i haven't purchased anything yet. She said it again! So at this point it's more about morals to meet the customers needs!!! Let's first talk about what the definition of a refund is. A refund means pay back (money), typically to a customer who is not satisfied with goods or services bought. I didn't buy anything yet I'm eating their sausage and it was absolutely gross! She then pointed to the no refund sign!!! Again let's talk about morals! I can understand crab is expensive and if ppl order it and don't like their sauce no business could stay afloat if customers just send it back!!! For situations like that i understand the "no refund" policy (they really shouldn't use that word). But a customer who frequently visits their establishments, you mean to tell me you can't take 3.99 off the bill after i told you the sausage is gross and didn't look done! It tasted like bologna and again idk if they switched vendors but this is not the same sausage we normally get from here!! They wasted food and money remaking it for us when really we just wanted the 3.99 off the bill!! See the picture attached, it's a pile of sausage on the table!!! It was horrible!! I was skeptical because of the mixed reviews here but I'm so glad we decided to find out for ourselves. Great service, good food, huge portions, fair prices, and good cocktails. I think people must just get bent out of shape because of the signs they have up stating that there are "no refunds" and that they "automatically add 18% tip" but neither one of these things were an issue for us. I don't believe any of us have ever asked for a refund on a meal in our lives. What kind of a person would do such a thing? We also always tip more than 20% unless the service is absolutely horrible which has only happened maybe twice in my life. They must have these signs up for a reason - they must get a lot of assholes and temperamental "Karen" types in their restaurant for some reason. Maybe it's the location. Not sure. Our experience there today was nothing short of exceptional. Myself (50 years old), my wife (35 years old), and my mother (70 years old). I feel like we cover a wide demographic with our ages and lifestyles so I can't imagine why anyone would have a problem with this place. I liked this place. It was a rustic throwback to the grass roots of crab joints. Wood on the walls and y People have written on them. Wood benches and paper table covers. The drinks were decent. Ordered was a crab sitch and fries shrimp basket. As for the crab bag it was margarine. Sigh. I prefer my foos less oily but I persevered. The garlic seasoning was good. They said broccoli came with but it was hardly worth mentioning. Two pieces, really. The corn was cooked and the two potatoes were fine. I pulled them out for later. The Dungeness crab was okay. Off season I guess it was decent if that is your preferred crab which it is mine . I will try the snow next. He enjoyed his fried shrimp just wished there was more of them. My Niece turned 16 and Decided we should all go out for Crab Legs, so Saucy Crab it was!!! The restaurant was relatively empty, but the food was definitely FULL of Flavor!!!! We were split on our choices, 3 had Crab Legs, 3 had Shrimp, and the youngest of the Bunch of course chose Chicken Fingers and Fries!!! Cracking crab legs and peeling Shrimp required a great deal of effort, persistence, and patience, but let me tell you the rewards of our Labor was well worth it!!!! I don't think anyone was able to eat every morsel in front of them, but it wasn't for lack of trying!!! Perhaps the appetizers we'd ordered prior to our meal had something to do with the bursting at the seams feeling that had overtaken us. The appetizers tray was such a great value, it consisted of Crab Cakes which were a good size for a sampler tray, Conch Fritters my personal favorite, Alligator Bites which were quite tasty, Fried Shrimp seasoned just Right and Hush Puppies which put us over the top!!! Considering rising prices everywhere, the cost of this meal for 7, was reasonable!!! The only issue was either the waitress being stretched too thin or her lack of customer service training. Came here on 3/13 to have dinner with my family. I've been here before and the experiences have always been exceptional. This time it was a little different since I was dining with my father who has a seafood allergy. I wanted all the seafood fixins, and I convinced him that there were non-seafood options, so he didn't fret dining there. Once we ordered appetizers and relayed the food allergy to the waiter we found out that all of the apps we ordered cajun fries, fried pickles, and onion rings were fried in fish oil. Yes, I understand that this is a seafood restaurant but if you have vegetarian appetizers, and non seafood entrees why are you cooking those things in fish oil? Even at a regular American fare restaurant the seafood is cooked in its own oil for cross contamination and health reasons. That was pretty perplexing to hear and turned into a mediocre dining experience for us all. He couldn't even enjoy fries that come with his entree, he had to order a side salad instead. After spending the afternoon buying a new car at the nearby Carmax, my wife and I looked for a place to have dinner, and came across the Saucy Crab. Food and service were okay, but reason for giving one star is because when we received the bill, there was a 15% Service Fee tacked onto the bill. When I questioned, the server mumbled something about being for the kitchen staff. And the bill had a space as usual to add a tip! As a rule I typically tip 20%, because I have done time as a server in restaurants, and my adult kids also manage restaurants. But this pissed me off, so needless to say no additional tip was added. Another review mentioned that there was a sign(s) saying the service fee would be added automatically, but I did not see anything. As this place is pretty expensive, you are forewarned about this Service Fee. A $150 food and drink tab for example is going to be $22.50 once you sit your butt down, and then they'll expect an additional tip! read more

Ok, I gave Hot N Juicy another try because my friend's husband wanted to try it. It was much better this time. They serve the seafood in bags now, so the food stayed warm. They also gave us broccoli in the bag, which they didn't do last time. I love a vegetable. It was salty so I only ate one piece but I appreciated the gesture. Our waiter, Julius, was cool. He explained how the ordering is done since it was my friend's first time. He gave us tools and buckets and all. He didn't give us that nasty appetizer bread but I didn't mind because we didn't want it (maybe he read my last review lol). The food was better. Like I said, the food was served in bags so it stayed warm. However, the sauce wasn't as tasty this time. It seemed a little watered down because it was missing that spice and umph. My daughter and I absolutely love seafood. Hot n Juicy Crab was just introduced to me. We were so excited and thrilled to know that there was finally a good sea food restaurant in the neighborhood. I opted out of cooking dinner and treated us out to Hot n Juicy. My check came to $78 (minus a Military discount) for a bag of 1 pound King Crab and 2 lobster tails and some additional trimmings. The food at best was mediocre and over priced for a "pound" of king crab and 2 lobster tails. Perhaps we ordered the wrong thing this evening. However it is what it is. This place is a sad attempt to recreate Joe's Crabshack. The drinks are expensive and tiny amd the crab and shrimp were so overcooked and dry we hardly ate any of it. The only good thing were the crabcakes. Def didn't make up for the bad crab and shrimp ugh. There are also signs all over the place that say, "No refunds!" 2 reasons I don't like this- 1. It comes off as highly aggressive- "Welcome! Better enjoy because we don't give refunds!" 2. What's wrong with your food that you felt the need to put signs everywhere about no refunds before I even order? Makes you wonder... Don't bother going. read more

We had a group of six for dinner. The food was great and our waitress very knowledgeable and helpful. Here's the fun part. The hostess informed us that groups of six or more will charged a 20% tip. We had no problem with that. The problem was that when we recieved our credit cards receipts, we were all charged a 40% tip!!!! Wow!!! The waitress had to void our charges and recharge our credit cards without adding the tips. We decided to pay cash for the tips. The waitress also told us it takes between 3-5 days for the voided charges to be returned back to our credit cards. Really!?! The manager apologized and gave us free desserts, but the question is how many other people have walked out and didnt realized they were charged a 40% tip. So excited to try this place out! We live about 30 min south of the area and love a low country boil. Once we heard about it, we had to get up there. I'm giving this place a 3 because I feel like service really makes the place. You can't just go on food and drinks alone. Dion was our server and he was fun and friendly. However, he didn't use a pad to write our order down and forgot to put in our appetizer and did not sub our daughters fries with onion rings. I'm all for being confident enough in your memory but if you're not putting in orders completely, it may not be time to give up that pad and paper just yet! He dropped our food off which I had no complaints on. The food was well seasoned, hot, and cooked to perfection! He never came back to ask us how it was for a good 15 minutes and during that time we didn't have any silverware and I'd wanted some cocktail sauce that I didn't get until it was too late. This business got 2 stars because their food is good. What keeps me from giving 4 stars is the WAY they do business. You can't have good food and crappy/ unfair services and get 4 stars... Management here is not compassionate nor professional with the way they speak to their customers if they have complaints. Myself and my 2 girls sat in a booth of our own and my sisters and mom sat in a booth of their own. The booths are high-backed so it was near impossible to even talk to them. So my girls and I basically had dinner together. I told the waitress that I have nothing to do with my sisters/ mom bill because it was just me and my girls. When we finally got our bill there was a 15% gratuity added to each our bills anyway. When my sisters and mom asked why, because we basically had dinner separately, the manager answered it was "because we WALKED IN together." Huh??? Because we walked in together? The manager here said that because our booths were next to each other it also counts. She said that if we were separate, one group could have set in one area and the other "group " (me and my 2 girls, so group of 3 ) in another room....Mind you they asked if we wanted to sit in the booths or the bar. We DONT DRINK. ITS AGAINST OUR RELIGION. WE JUST CAME FROM CHURCH ON EASTER SUNDAY. WHY IN GODS NAME WOULD WE CHOOSE TO SIT AT A BAR???? The manager talked to my sisters and mom VERY nastily. I'm an ER Nurse, my sister is a manager at an optical clinic, my other sister is a detention center officer for the city of Chicago. My 3rd sister is a sign language interpreter / teacher for the deaf at a middle school, and my 4th sister also is in customer service. We were there for her birthday and mourning the untimely death of my dad and this manager talked VERY nastily to my mom as well. Unfortunately, when that happened 2 of my sisters "returned the disrespect " back to her. It should never had gone that far. So here's a tip: If you're a party of over 6, have your groups come in separately, maybe 4 or 5 minutes apart so that they don't penalize you for walking in all at the same time. read more

Let' get the basics out first. There are two choices of food prep here, fried or seafood boil. Food is ok, I have had way better and I have had much worse. Pretty much middle of the road. Spicy wasn't that spicy type stuff. Now for the real issues. Whoever trains the staff is not doing their job! We sat at the bar and there were times the bartender was gone for long periods of time. We ordered wine and they couldn't find the bottle, took 10 minutes to find it and it was behind the bar, but that wasn't where they were looking. The crawfish gumbo is delicious! My husband and I really enjoy coming here. Partially because he is a bottomless pit and you can order seafood by the pound! The servers are nice, but they're a little disorganized. (Probably because the place is relatively new). First time here. The shellfish was great but .... the wait was close to an hour when the place was not so busy. The waiter was apologetic but the manager lacked customer service expertise. I had a cheeseburger and fries that had no lettuce or tomato. The waiter apologized and stated that they had run out even though two others of us had tomatoes. This was my first time eating at this place and I was thoroughly satisfied. They have super flavorful seafood and it was really fresh too. I recommend getting their Woo Pig Sooiee!! sauce on whatever you get. It adds the perfect combination of flavors and butter. One really nice thing is you add the heat separate from the flavor choice; so there is something for you whether you like your fish bare, buttery, or blazing hot. If you're looking for that added heat, order their Insanely Hot sauce on the side for dipping. It really gives it the kick you'd need. Their okra was also the perfect texture! I wasn't expecting a lot, but people have been raving about this place. I see why now. If was fantastic. I don't give 5 stars willingly but this place earned it. This is definitely in our rotation of restaurants. It is near Super target. We went on a Tuesday night it was not crowded. I had the crab fingers, too processed for my liking. My hubby had the calamari, which I like better. I ordered snow crab with insane sauce and he got king crab with mild. I usually eat 3 clusters with no problems. Here two clusters is a pound. It was plenty. The corn, potatoes and broccoli were good. The insane sauce was dwlicious. I wanted to take the rest of the bag home with me, just the sauce. I ate everything else. The king crab was great. Upon ordering get the seafood boils you receive gloves and a bib, much needed. The waitress was good, punctual and friendly. I really enjoyed this restaurant. I didn't even eat half the food (Cajun chicken sandwich and fries.)
