The only thing that was really holding this place down was the wings. They are very saucy though so if you're not into that, it won't be for you. Now you know I'm from the east and love to try and support local spots no matter what so here we go ! I was excited to try them today because I see them all the time on Instagram @thesaucyhut ! I'm a first timer ! Okay so they are located off of 38th and San Leandro st open from 12-8 . it's a bright orange truck parked in the lot ... Can't miss it. When I pulled up it was only one person ahead of me . Since they cook on demand there could be a wait but atleast your waiting for hot fresh food . Can just chill and wait in your car . I got the crab and shrimp egg rolls and cheesesteak egg rolls . I was skeptical for so long about trying them because I thought the egg roll might be soggy since it's loaded and packed ! I was highly mistaken because whaaaat ! The crunch was giving! I was pleased that both were hot stuffed gooey and still crunchy ! That's how you know it's made right there . Both were good I was very pleased with the crab and shrimp eggs rolls tho . It was real crab meat and shrimp and was very tasty . Both are also good with or without the sauce ( they're known for the sauce too ) Overall I'd definitely come try them out again . They have hoagies rice bowls and more ( but limited ) ( side note : I ordered one of each I didn't know that one order came with two cut in half . Oh I couldn't wait to eat here. I should had stuck with the egg rolls I had been picturing. Customer Service very nice young men. My daughter got a bowl. Not much meat omg. Skimpy on the sauce. If she had known she would had asked for more or purchased some. She didn't care for the taste of her bowl. Now I purchased the steak hoagie. Once again skimpy meat and sauce. I should had asked what comes on it. I'm use to onions bell pepper etc. it was meat and a tiny bit of sauce. It didn't taste very good to me. Well 2 stars bc they were super nice. Wow great tasty eggrolls I ever tried since I follow them on my instagram and happen to stumble upon them passing by coming from the famous cambodian street food so I had to let the driver turn back so I can try since I'm not from the area I am from Stockton and we don't have it out there. So we pull up and order the food was worth the wait since its popular there was a few order before me but must say it was fantastic. While I would love to make a review about the food, I never even had the opportunity to taste it. Like you might feel, the photos of sauce drenched and seasoned covered wings had my mouth watering and my tummy grumbling, but I left with frustration, hunger, and contempt as the server refunded my order after we waited for 40 minutes for an order he said would be done in 15. He lost our ticket and didn't even remember to make our order. With the cheeto colored walls that looked like oozing artificial cheese and the rap videos playing on the TV above, I left the establishment annoyed and wanting more, knowing I'd never come back. Delicious! I got the seafood and hot link hoagie with fries, and that cool blue raspberry drink. It was delicious and filled me up with a great meal! I asked about their location because I did have a hard time pinpointing whether they were in San Lorenzo or in Oakland but that shared that the Oakland spot is about to open a store front-- CONGRATULATIONS! The food truck was next to other trucks that made the space enticing and the cooks took their time but it was absolutely worth the wait. Best eggrolls I've ever had ! Hands down. You have to try the cheesesteak eggrolls. They're thee best. They also have crab and shrimp eggrolls which are goodt but not as good as the cheesesteak. That cheesesteak egg roll is delicious af, greasy, full of flavor and exactly what you imagine, but with a side of cheese sauce that has a nice spicy kick. I give them 2 stars because the person taking the order was very nice and friendly. However a true review is based off the food and this was not very good. I ordered the steak egg rolls and the seafood one. It seemed like it was more cheese and very small amount of meat. You can see on my pic of the crab one it is not much filling inside. For $13 for 2 egg rolls should be some more filling. I felt like I paid for just the eggroll wrapper smh. The overall tasted was ok not great. It was very oily and greasy probably because it's mostly cheese on the inside and no meat. I had seen on my Instagram so wanted to try it out but I was disappointed. Would not return. Came to this place on a fluke one afternoon and it didn't too much disappoint. We ordered the bowl with steak, shrimp, and crab. The crab and shrimp rolls, and side of fries. The total was $54 which is reasonable in my opinion bc it's seafood. The only thing is the portions aren't really that much so don't expect it. Everything was good at the first few bites. My only critique would be to add some type of vegetable to the bowl and rolls. Like peppers and onions.. idk something. It was just meat and cheese which is super overwhelming and greasy, and can become less appetizing as you keep eating. I probably won't go back due to the minor critique. i was on the way home from costco (around 5:30 pm sun... i noticed this tent, & someone cooking inside! i was at the stop light tennyson, & hesperian), was hungry, & curious, so i yelled at the guy standing outside the tent.(2 guys, one cooks, & the other, jun, takes orders, & payment) i said, "r u selling food", & if so, "what do u offer on ur menu"...he yelled somethings that i could not hear, or understand, so i told him that i would just make a u-turn, so i could hear what they had 2 offer on the menu! omg, what a great surprise! i ordered the steak w/shrimp, he offered me: 1) steak egg rolls 2) steak hoagie sandwich, & 3) the steak w/shrimp & even showed me pics of his menu while i sat in my car. everything looked great, but, i love steak, & i love shrimp, & i was starving, the pic looked great, so i ordered it!!! iam so happy, & pleased w/ my decision! i couldn't wait 2 try it!!! it was fantastic...it tasted great, but i only took two mouthfuls, cuz i told him that all it was missing was rice, so i was going 2 go home, & eat it w/rice!!!(i eat everthing w/ rice) jun was great, helpful, polite, & friendly! i told him that i'd write a review on yelp(he prob didn't believe me, but, i do what i say...so here is my review!!! i definitely recommend "the saucy hut". ps, i would've also ordered the steak egg rolls, but they were already sold out! i love this place read more
