My husband and I came here for a late lunch the other day. The food is always great and the service we receive from our server Shannon is always exceptional! However, I have to rate 4 stars because we had a concerning issue during this meal. The owners brother began talking down to and belittling our server. It was SHOCKING and disgusting. No one deserves to be treated the way we witnessed her being treated. ESPECIALLY someone as great as Shannon. I really hope The Sawmill takes this review to heart. And hey, if you dine in and Shannon is your server, maybe tip her a little extra to make up for the poor treatment she received. read more

We arrived right around noon on a Saturday in July. There were lots of tables free then but it was getting full by 1pm when we left. Good selection of beers, friendly service, enough attention didn't feel rushed. We had the BBQ tri-tip sandwich, Reuben, cheeseburger, and fish & chips and everyone was happy with their food. My friends brought me here for dinner last night and everything we had was amazing. The cheese curds were so so so good but not so hot that you burn your mouth at first lol. The artichoke soup special was also amazing. I ended up getting a burger and it was perfection. The staff was super friendly as well! Prompt, food came out quick and hot, all the good things... However, when we checked out, I really was a bit put off but the toast tab POS system. We were a party of 6 and were giving an auto gratuity "large party" tip of 20% when we got our bill. Cool! I'm literally a server and I get it. I am A-ok with being auto-charged 20% so our tip's covered. We split the bill in half and when each of us went to check out the Toast Tab screen prompted me to add a tip. An additional tip? We had already been charged 20% "gratuity" for our bill. That is the tip... As a server myself this made me feel super uncomfortable. This way of closing out feels kinda deceptive (are we attempting to get folks to double tip either out of confusion or out of awkward uncomfortableness?). I can't afford to pay a 40% tip when I dine out, but this system was essentially encouraging me to up my tip to that level :( All in all literally everything was amazing besides that. I want to come back, my friends live hella close, and I'm sure I will end up coming back here with them! This review is 5 stars because everything was 5 star worthy minus the toast tab pos system. If you want a burger, look no further! I can't eat meat anymore but the sawmill prepares the Impossible Burgers deliciously. Fresh tasting ingredients and a lively atmosphere make for a nice stop if you're traveling down 9. Definitely recommend and will be returning. read more

I've been to the Sawmill a few times and it was great. My last visit however has a horrible experience. The high price we paid for the low quality was NOT worth it. The Baja fish sandwich looked like a sandwich from McDonald's and the fish was smaller than the bun. The onion rings were burnt and stuck in one clump and the garlic fries were $2.50 extra with barely any garlic and 15 fries. Even the Caesar salad had no flavor. Hopefully the food can improve like it was before. read more

I love going to The Sawmill and getting the cheesesteak and the Cunningham burger are my favorite with fries or garlic fries. The beer menu s always full of new craft beers to try from the area. The staff are great to talk to and are knowledgeable about the menu. it's a layed back vibe with good sports on the TV's and love it when I lucky to stop by when they have live music. The food is great especially "the pear and candied walnut salad" and "the morell". They have great Shirley temples. Always have indoor dining; outdoor eating areas have heaters in the cooler weather & umbrellas during sunny weather. We recently moved to the area and came across this little gem. The food is excellent, the servers are always so kind and welcoming, and the beer selection on tap is phenomenal!! The outdoor seating is great, especially with Covid- we feel really safe and comfortable dinning here regularly. They often have a live band outdoors which really ads to the chill ambiance. ZERO STARS. The "chef" Cisco needs to be fired. He intentionally made my buffalo wings extra spicy, to the point that they were inedible. My hubby loves spice and didn't want them. I knew he did this on purpose, because I heard him brag to a waitress about how spicy they were. Cisco then proceeded to go out the side door and smoke a joint. I both saw and smelled it.... Like, c'mon. I asked him to come and taste the food he served me. He came over, but refused to eat the food he was happy to charge me for. We then got into an argument, where he swore at me and made racist comments. The poor hostess Audrey was trying to reel Cisco in, while our own waitress was nowhere to be found. Audrey was doing the best she could given the situation, but Cisco is a loose cannon. He purposely serves garbage and then yells at customers. Un freaking believable, I almost called the cops because he was so out of control. Locals be warned, do not come here. I wouldn't even wish this hole on tourists. read more

This is such a cool chill place, I love it! I am new to Boulder Creek and I wondered if there were places close by to hang out with friends over drinks and food and chill.This is that place. The food was absolutely terrible. The fried chicken was definitely not chicken at all. The expensive cheese steak was just ground beef. The vegetarian burger was just okay. Love music was cute, but like not enough to make the experience good. Especially since we had to leave the music early because we felt sick from the food. We live down the road and loved supporting the owner Matt and his family, but the last couple of times we have been here we've had negative experiences with Tony the manager. WHAT A JOKE!.....i went to this restaurant when i first opened and thought i'd never go back...then craving a good steak. i saw the menu last night and they advertised tri-tip so i thought i'd give it a try years later and see if it had gotten any better!.....oy vey!....there were no steaks !...so since i was there i decided to go with the pear salad with a side of broiled chicken breast and another siide of mac and cheese.....WOW!...sounded simple enough~the mac and cheese was dollar tree kraft crap (not even the delux box) made with water and they charged $7.00 for half the box serving and it was served cold!...then the salad with a SIDE of a broiled chicken breast....for some damn reason the chicken breast was cut up and served in the salad!.....seriously????...after tipping out 5 dollars i left $40.00 lighter and so disappointed.....if i wanted the chicken served cold in a salad i would have ordered it that way but i didn't....so much for a hot dinner...this place is for people who can't cook and have no idea what good food is~seriously...a 99 cent box of kraft KIDS mac and cheese for $7.00....they are out of their mind and out another customer~!...i will NEVER return! read more
