We visited because we had a gift certificate. Not sure it would be my first choice for a dining experience again. We were greeted very gruffly by the hostess who acted annoyed when there was no one else in the place and she tried to seat us by the door we asked if we might sit at another table. The waitress was it least a shade friendlier. Cocktails were delivered promptly and my dinner companion was given a taste of the draft because the menu that was on the table did not represent the beers that they actually currently were serving. We did have to ask a second time for a glass of water. We went with what was advertised as individual pizzas. They were much larger than either of us could eat individually. I suspect a premade crust, but generous in toppings one of us went with the vegetable with barbecue chicken as a bonus and the other pepperoni and mushroom. We did appreciate that the waitress asked if we were staying at the hotel, she advised us the pizza boxes would not fit in the refrigerator and she was going to box them differently if we were staying at the hotel. Not sure I'd make an unplanned trip but if I was staying at the hotel not the worst meal you'll ever get.

Even Mac Donald's could have done better

With the Americade motorcycle rally underway in town, it was tough to find seating but the staff made it work for me and the tour group that I was traveling with. It's a nice, rustic-looking restaurant. The manager made the rounds to say Hello to us and he made sure that we were doing okay. In the interest of speed, I ordered a salad bar and the soup of the day which was Goulash. It was very good. The salad bar had everything I could possibly want in a salad and it was replenished regularly. The tuna Mac salad there was awesome. The salad bar is $15 if you don't get an entree or appetizer. Perhaps a little steep but I think it might be all-you-can-eat. As a petite person, I probably don't eat enough. From the window, I had a great view of the outlet stores that Lake George is also famous for. I had to fight to the urge to go shopping. Perhaps another day! We had a slight mix-up with the check for our table but the staff took care of the issue quickly and it wasn't a surprise because the place was really packed. Nevertheless, I thought service was really good. Thanks, The Log Jam. You had a log jam of customers but somehow you made it work. We'll be back.

The wraparound porch is just so nice to sit outside and eat in warm weather. They really utilize the space well, as it's covered in colder months so you can still sit there. I was here for brunch on Mother's Day with reservations and was seated promptly. Due to the holiday, parking was not possible in their lot as it can only take a few cars. No matter, as we were able to park nearby. Their brunch menu had plenty to choose from. You were given these small carrot cake muffins to start, then a choice of starter and main along with dessert, wow! You also had a few cocktails to choose from and you could also swap out for a mocktail too. It was extremely busy but the staff was attentive and handled our orders with ease. Their attention to detail was so nice. For starters we had a strawberry salad, French onion soup, tuna tartare, coconut shrimp. For mains, the burger, salmon Benedict, chicken and waffles and a Polynesian style breakfast bowl with coconut shrimp, sticky rice, pineapple and greens. Lastly on a full tummy we had coffee with chocolate mousse, strawberry shortcake and peanut butter cheesecake. Spending the morning here for brunch was the perfect way to kick off the day. Brunch was enjoyed by all. On a side note, I've also had dinner here and you can expect the same wonderful experience. I'll be back again!

We walked past Farmacy's window and one of the chefs gave a friendly wave. We stopped in (had eaten there before) and prepared ourselves for a sure to be delicious meal. They have a fun frequently changing menu of small, medium and large plates so you can choose your own foodie adventure. If you want to sit at the bar you get a great view of the chefs at work preparing your meal. If you want a cozier experience, sit in the comfortable seating in the rear of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive but chill and knowledgeable. We got the Utica greens to share as an appetizer, a cocktail and Mad Max local beer, then a burger with hand cut fries and a chicken stuffed poblano. Dessert was a passion fruit chocolate tart which we took to go. If you're looking for well crafted food with a creative twist, this place is a great choice. North country friendly and approachable with a sophisticated set of offerings. Some really unique cocktails too. Not a boring thing on the menu.

Taylor was one of the best servers we've had in a long time. Everything is made fresh daily, and if you sit at the Chef's Counter, you'll see it first hand. You'll also get great descriptions of everything from the awesome Chefs and maybe get to try something extra too. I recommend using the reservation system on their website and specify your seating preferences. You can choose from the Chef's Counter, the bar, a high-top table, a low table, or an outdoor table (weather permitting). We also appreciated them asking about food allergies on the reservation system too and they verified it when we arrived. We were so impressed with the unique menu options that are offered in the appetizers, small shareable plates, main courses, desserts, and drinks. We are already planning on coming back Sunday for brunch and know we'll be back again soon for dinner.

Quite unique.! The food was par. Fish and fried shrimp were overcooked to coffee brown. The wings are delicious. The shrimp cocktail was good. The French onion soup was superb. The burgers were big and awesome. The problem was the service. One waitress for 80 people is not enough! We were seated and then she finally got to our table for a drinks order. Beers and waters. All good. Food order goes in. We don't see our waitress again. Takes 30 minutes for the food to come meandering out of the kitchen and delivered by kitchen staff. Still no waitress for more beers. Food was as described earlier. Still no beers. I go to the bar to get more. I am told it will be a few minutes. Still no more beers. Some of our gang go home because they Never Got Service! We were there for 90 minutes and got 2 beers. Then came the tab. $160 for six people not including the tip. Paid in cash! Nice place. Local favorite. I would skip it if not for my friends being local and taking us there. They say that management tries to run the place with one waitress usually. Too Bad! Poor or no service is costing you lots of money.

They start you off with some warm fresh bread and butter that you have to be careful to not fill up on. We shared the truffle fries (if you like thousand island dressing you might like the sauce but it does have a kick to it), sushi roll, and a few large beet salads for the table. Salads were good and plentiful and I liked the dressing. I appreciate that Bistro Le Roux offers smaller and larger portions options for each of their mains. As this is not the norm at most American restaurants, it was a a little unclear to us whether that meant they are sharing plates or not but because most other restaurants give you too much food, ordering a small seems like a reasonable strategy unless you are either A) very hungry or B) sharing with a few members of your party. It's not cheap but this could be a good way to try different dishes. I tried the lobster risotto which was super creamy and came with a reasonable (but not overly generous ) amount of fresh lobster. The corn risotto was very good although it seemed like they had this same thing for a number of their menu items. My wife had the avocado crab salad dish, which was ok (my daughter commented that it was needlessly "fancy"), but the crab on its own would have been better. She thought her risotto was a little undercooked. We also got the corn chowder which was ok but lacked any real flavor and didn't feel worth the stomach space. The tomato bisque, a long-time staple of their menu, was much better and we really enjoyed it. For dessert we had the lava cake which was very rich and good. My son had a plain vanilla scoop, which came with his kid's meal (steak and fries).
