Surprisingly they actually had their outdoor patio open for seating with heaters and blankets were available if you got too cold. So we sat outside and it was really enjoyable. This has been on my radar since they opened a few months ago- it's def the new place to be! We stopped in for brunch on Sunday & there were 6 of us. They don't take reservations, so when we got there at 10:30, there was a 2hr wait. Yeah, and the line was out the door. They are THAT good. We went to the bar, and we lucked out with an open spot at the bar, and decided to order there. I ordered avocado toast with eggs and bacon, so yummm it totally hit the spot. Everyone raved about their food. The bartenders were awesome, service was great. Prices were reasonable. I wish it was bigger to accommodate more people, and I wish they took reservations. You kind of can't go wrong with The Shed. I've been to the Huntington and Sayville locations. This was the first time at the Plainview location. The good. Our waitress, Kelly was awesome. The coffee was delicious. And the food came out fast! The bad. I was disappointed with my eggs because they were not cooked the way I requested. I don't generally complain and send food back. I didn't mention it to Kelly. It's confounding to me that chefs cannot cook an over medium egg. My yolk was oozing out. That's not an over medium egg. I primarily ate the home fries, which were delicious. They definitely had a kick of cayenne in them, which I didn't mind. I basically paid $17 for a plate of home fries but again, I realize that's on me for not giving them the opportunity to make it right. I tried to eat the sandwich but it was just too underdone. When I go back to The Shed, I will NOT order the Shegg sandwich. I got excited when I saw another woman's Shegg sandwich and the egg was cooked perfectly. I could literally see it was perfect. My husband contends that if I had not requested the egg be cooked "over medium ", that I probably would have gotten the egg the way I wanted. So it's my fault!! LOL. Nevertheless, it is my pet peeve that people can't cook an egg over medium. When I used to send eggs back, what inevitably happens is they overcook the eggs and the yolk is cooked all the way through. So I stopped sending eggs back as a general rule and don't take any stars away. So I whine a little, move on and chalk it up to experience. If you like your eggs over medium, keep this in mind. You may get them cooked right. You might not. I love the aesthetic of The Sheds and I think the food is generally very good. Oh and the cocktails are excellent. read more

One of my favorite places! I have been to the one in Huntington and have made my way to the Plainview one. It is definitely worth going! It looked good! But it was super heavy! The both of us took TUMS while we sat at the table. Everything we ordered somehow they incorporate jalapeños lol guess the chef likes his pepper. The Mac & Cheese sauce was super runny needed a thicker roux. It was so watery wasn't even edible. Chicken and waffle wasn't crispy. (Both waffle or fried chicken wasn't crispy). The waiter did warn us that the syrup was spicy. He wasn't joking! So beware, but they also give you regular syrup just incase I guess. Calamari was the only thing we somewhat finished. The short rib melt was eh. The entire meal was more heart attack served on plates. If we do come back maybe we stick with the salads or try their brunch instead of dinner. Extremely pricey. Seven dollars for a champagne flute sized cold brew. Fifteen for 3 pancakes, $42 for a small average lobster roll...come on. I came here frequently for the convenience and good food, but those are no longer enough to justify the prices for me. Food, service, and space are all excellent. So the problem here is that the tables are soooo close together that with a pandemic going on it's just not cool. Closer than three feet, let alone six to the point where you can smell the next table's food. It is also quite loud. Furthermore, neither this place or the Huntington location can make a burger at any temperature other than well done. Burger meat also has no seasoning. Where to begin. An hour wait on a Tuesday afternoon? Doesn't matter, well worth it!!! (Actually it was less, so we walked around the shops.) There was literally NOTHING I could complain about. A huge Belgian waffle cut in quarters separated three crispy, perfectly juicy and well made pieces of flour dipped fried chicken. Served with a habanero honey dip (maple syrup, too!) To die for. The best chicken and waffles ever. The waffle must have had a solid drop of vanilla added. It was perfect. And for $17, I had leftovers that I never got the pleasure to eat (thanks, kids.) My wife had the best pancakes ever. You know how when you order pancakes from a diner... and you get half way through and you're actually sick of them...we're not here! You can get them with fruit and berries, nuts, chocolate or all three. We went plain... not a mistake. Heavy vanilla but not over done. ($13) I ate slow just to watch the other table's orders come out. Mac and cheese skillet was huge, burgers looked huge, salads were also big. I will be back very soon. And It'll be hard to not order the chicken again...but I want to try something else...but I want chicken... Great experience! Walking in the door to The Shed, I was greeted by two friendly hostesses with bright smiles. When I asked for something outside on their well appointed exterior dining area, they did warm me about complaints about bees and insects (I only had one bee check out my ale). The waiter, Chuck, was prompt and friendly. I asked what he would recommend between two options and his advice on the Ruben, was a great call. The food was delivered quickly and was hot and delicious. Upon leaving, I was greeted by another employee. Four outstanding employees, and great food and service. The sandwich was reasonably priced, they make a nice profit margin on the side of fries, but $10 for what looked like a small, but delicious, draft beer was the only downside. Have not wrote a review in forever. We randomly found this place on google and went for a try today. 3 adults and a baby, 20min wait for brunch but it was a lovely day and the outside vibes were clean and polished. Even a small grass area for the toddler to explore. I just want to say that the staff was extremely KIND, SMILEY and friendly (a bit hard to find sometimes in NY). My parents visiting from CA really appreciated this and especially to our attentive waitress for the overall experience. This is probably my favorite brunch spot. So happy they opened this location as its closer than Huntington. Their omelettes are my favorite! I don't understand how they stay so fluffy. My friend and i usually get omelettes and split something sweet because we can never decide. French toast was good but i prefer the waffles. I love their cocktails. I ordered the arugula, roasted tomato with poached eggs. It came with home fries which were crispy outside and soft inside. It was better then any diner! So delicious. Hands down the BEST lunch I have had in YEARS! I started off with the Air Quotes Sangria mocktail and it was so refreshing and light tasting. My boyfriend got a Moscow mule and said it was perfect. It wasn't overly cheesy, just enough- and was accompanied by a nice variety of fresh toppings like corn, bacon, jalapeños, and scallions. Heaven in every single bite. For our main entree, I got the chicken sandwich, which was just absolutely mind blowing. Hot honey fried chicken with buttermilk dressing and pickles...
