What an amazing place ! We drove by it a few times and the name intrigued me. The menu online looked delicious so we went this morning. They have the friendliest most welcoming staff ! We were greeted and promptly seated. They have beers and lots of choices for drinks. I had a bloody and my husband had coffee with Kahlua. I had the stuffed French toast. Todays special was berry citrus compote. It came with a lovely side of home fries and three generous slices of bacon. Our food was delicious and I recommend it for sure. Amazing breakfast!!!! In town for the weekend and was happy to find this breakfast spot. They were extremely accommodating to food allergies. In my party there were three separate allergies in my party and everything came out exactly how we ordered it and the staff made sure that nothing was cross contaminated. We walked in on a Friday morning and I was a little nervous not having a reservation because Fridays tend to be busy, but they got the 5 of us in right away! We started off by getting bloody Mary's, a bloody Gary and a boozy coffee. I have Celiac so we chose this place specifically because of all the gluten free choices and respect they have! I was alone. They were busy. I didn't have a reservation. I've never made a table reservation in my entire life so the thought never crossed my mind. "Do you have room for one?, I asked eyeing empty seats at the bar. A woman whom I guessing is the owner (because she had this micromanagement look in her eye: all business, no smiles -- you get the idea) said they could seat me for a "quick visit". I never heard that phrase before. I asked, "What does that mean". Paraphrasing, it means eat fast and go.... No thanks. I declined the offer and went elsewhere. Since I did not have a meal I cannot rate this venue yet I can't leave a review without giving one to five stars. My one star thusly is based on not feeling welcomed. New favorite brunch spot. Like, holy moly. Came here last week when there was a power outage in most of Portland and I wanted some eggs. All the tables are given a fresh big brown paper strip when they're cleaned for new patrons, and crayons are plentiful for everybody. Check out the walls - artwork abound. What set this place apart for me was the service and the eggs benedict. The third person in our party was not with the other two of us when we sat down - but they said this was fine! When our friend did arrive there was no pressure or rush or anything like that on us either. Our server, who was also answering the phone, taking down parties, and serving several other tables, was the most pleasant waitress I think I've ever had. She was knowledgable about every food item and was very respectful and understanding of our table's food allergies/insensitivities. Ok, the eggs benny - I got the vegetarian, which had spinach, tomatoes, and pesto. I added in some jalapenos. Comes with home fries. LIFE CHANGING. Like, not a ton of hollandaise, which I questioned at first, but it ended up being the perfect amount. Moist, delicious, super fresh veggies. The home fries were seasoned to perfection. Affordable prices for the quality and quantity. I'd say this benedict even rivals my number one fave - Bintlinff's (Bayside American Cafe). But honestly the service here bumped it up to numero uno. A group of my friends we all tried this place for the first time, and it was very decent. The food was great overall, although I'm a hollandaise addict I was very dissatisfied with theirs. My friends were looking forward to the lamb bacon and it wasn't as great as expected. They said it was very tough and could've tasted better with the way they cooked it. The home fries were very inconsistent, all of ours tasted different and 1 out of 4 tasted decent. The one dish that was amazing was the French Toast with strawberries and whip cream, my friend said it was immaculate and he couldn't have made it better himself. We didn't have a reservation but managed to score a table for two. Brunch served all morning and afternoons until 2. Small dining room was full of diners and the food is all homemade. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The Belgian waffles looked amazing coming out of the kitchen. Traditional eggs Benedict on point here, in fact what we saw, smelled, and tasted, were excellent. We were up early today and while passing by we thought we would grab breakfast at the new sinful kitchen location as we noticed there were open parking stalls. What a mistake! Entered at 8:00 and saw five open tables. A busy on the phone hostess would not acknowledge that we existed and after five minutes, a rather bubbly server greeted us and immediately dove into the reservation book and spent a minute fiddling and whispering with the hostess and then turned to us with a way too toothy smile and pointed to an empty table and curtly said " Well, we have this table available but it has a reservation at 9:00, is that O.K.?" Her tone implied that we were a bother to her. It was now 8:07 and I asked her if she were to seat us and 9:00 came , would we be kicked out? This place is honestly unreal! We initially picked it because of the outstanding reviews and great gluten free options for my Celiac friends, and were blown away. First of all, the place is so cute! Literally just a little house with drawings pasted all over the walls - so so homey! Second, the food was incredible. Um, yum! I'd heard great things, but I have a hard time getting my butt off the peninsula, so this one was quite the accomplishment. Having heard it gets busy, we knew to call ahead and put our name in that morning. Parking was interesting, but manageable, it's a bit unclear what parking is for the tenets and which is for the restaurant so we went in to double check. They've really spaced things out for Covid so there aren't too many tables. We were tucked away in a corner that fit us perfectly. The food was fabulous. I ordered the egg white scramble but with regular eggs instead of whites, which they were totally fine about accommodating. The food was delicious. I ordered the traditional eggs Benedict, which were a little mediocre. It had regular bacon which was crispy and not burnt, but not what I was expecting in traditional. I would skip it next time. My friend ordered the waffle pizza, the waffle was good but the "pizza" part of it was drowned in shredded cheese. My side of French toast was really good, wish I ordered that as my meal instead. This was our first breakfast after arriving in Portland the night before. Which was also after driving across the country for 4 days. So we were ready to indulge, and indulge we did. Amongst our table we had a monte cristo, a french toast plate, and the lobster & cheese benny which was on special. My picky teen had no problem polishing off the french toast, and my spouse really enjoyed his monte cristo. I love eggs benedict and lobster, so I was very excited for my dish and it did not disappoint. The hollandaise wasn't over powering and the lobster was well cooked. And it was so much food that I had to pass the plate to my spouse to help finish it all. Along with our food, we had a man-mosa and a sinful spritz. The man-mosa is really just a mimosa with vodka in it, which is honestly what I would do at home so I'm glad to see it's become trendy. I tried the spritz because I'd never had an aperol spritz before. It was good but not for me. The elderflower liqueur, which is something I usually like, really over powered the drink and made it syrupy sweet. I know lots of other people like sugar but it's just not my jam. I'm a vodka soda girl at heart and a lot of alcoholic drinks end up being too sweet for me. But this place still made a good drink, even if I wouldn't order it again.
