If I was rating on just customer service I'd give 5 stars! I visited on a weekend and even though it was pretty busy the staff still took time to greet us and offered to answer any questions we had. While I expected to pay for little more because it's in the stockyards, the prices were even higher than I thought. I was intrigued by their infused sugars but would normally not pay $5 for such a small package. My boyfriend however said I never get anything for myself and grabbed it. They had cute little glass bottles with corks but again were pretty pricey so I just got the sugar. It was bourbon black walnut sugar and smelled heavenly! It says you can put it on cakes/desserts, for flavoring whipped cream, or in coffee. Im a huge coffee lover so I was excited to use it! The woman working the counter was very informative and let me know of other storage options other than the tiny bottles they had there as well as instructions on how much to use. Got it home and mixed it with brown sugar because I wanted to stretch it but couldn't really taste it. I tried again with just the infused sugar in my coffee and I think I can kind of taste a small hint of the black walnut but not enough that it makes a difference. If I add more to enhance the flavor the coffee would be too sweet. Was really hoping for more flavor for such a tiny package, maybe it'd be better using it for topping desserts. But I'm not willing to spend the money again to find out.

If you are looking for unique spices or teas this is your place. There is such a variety of spices you are bound to find what you are seeking. Whether you want something already blended or you want to create your own combo. I was actually surprised by one that's had several types of zest like lemon, orange, and grapefruit. I didn't know that was a thing since I always make fresh zest. You can also find the tools necessary to blend your spices and enjoy your tea. Being in a group we got a little rushed since we wanted to see more of the stockyard. I know we plan on returning on our next visit.

Never having been to the Stockyards area, we became obsessed with this area and all of the cute shops! This one immediately pulled us in and we became very intrigued by all of the spice variations. I was in it to look at the teas and my mom kept calling me over to sniff spices with her haha. We have an INSANE spice shop where I'm from in Kansas City, but this little shop here had some spices and I haven't ever seen before. From rubs, salts, peppers, sugars....you name it. (Like bourbon black walnut sugar....woah!!!!) The two people that were working there too were very knowledgable about everything and super helpful. They gave great advice on ways to use the spice combinations on all things. I had to tell them I don't eat meat at all, and they immediately started to tell me which ones are great even on specific veggies and why. I appreciated that level of guidance!! The prices at this store a little high, but it's definitely a place where you pay for the whole experience! But when they create a good one and make you feel great about your purchase and all of the ways you can utilize everything you bought, it's 100% worth it!

Really nice staff who greet you as soon as you enter. They have a huge selection of jerkies including beef, alligator, pork and more. There were Tennessee beef jerkies, Texas jerkies, popcorn, cheese, chips, etc. my friend and I sampled a few and our favorites were the Smoked honey BBQ and The Reaper. The Reaper has a really nice spicy kick to it at the end. If you buy a minimum of 4 there is a deal.

This place was pretty cool. I liked how everything looked inside. It was cool seeing all the different spices and teas in jars. There was soooo much to choose from. The girl working there was very nice and helpful. I do not cook with spices too much but I do drink tea. It was a bit pricy but I would prefer to get tea from here over Teavana. They are so pushy at those stores.

Ask the Community - The Spice & Tea Exchange

Hello, do you sell organic loose leaf? Also, I am a zero waster, so could I bring a glass jar in to fill up tea, without buying prepackaged tea?

Hello! Yes, we do have some organic loose leaf teas. Not all of them are, but we do have quite a few. Yes, you can bring you own jar and we can fill it up depending on how much product we have in stock. If you’re wanting a large quantity we would…

Great - as always!…read more I've been coming to 1890 Marketplace for 5 years, tasting oils, vinegars and seasonings. I never walk away empty handed either. I love to make vinaigrette salad dressings and this is the place to shop in Parker and Hood counties for everything you need to make great salad dressings. We've recently moved from Weatherford to Mansfield. We'd run out of my everyday go-to spice, Organic, Salt-free, Garlic and Herb seasoning. We had an errand back in Weatherford and popped down to Granbury afterwards to restock. Got to chatting with the Manager (she manages all 3 Marketplace locations) and learned that there's a store in Mansfield! What?! That's going to work out perfect for us going forward. Thanks 1890 Marketplace for having such a great selection of oils, vinegars and seasonings! See you in Mansfield next time.

We have seen in the grocery stores, but were looking for something more interesting, more personal. Thuy remembered 1890 Marketplace, a place we have walked past many times. So we head there to see what they have. So yes, 1890 Marketplace has olive oil, lots of olive. All in gleaning silver canisters, ready for dispensing, or tasting. I was not prepared for the flavor options in olive oil. We tasted several, and settled on the following; Persian Lime, Garlic, Tuscan Herb, Wild Mushroom and sage. We also tasted several of the balsamic vinegars, in the same silver dispensers. On these we picked; Espresso Balsamic, Dark Chocolate Balsamic, Vermont Maple Balsamic and Neopolitan Balsamic. At checkout, we learned it's "Buy 7 Get 1 Free"! This review would not be complete without saying how helpful Kaitlin was. She was very helpful and made suggestions we would not have thought of. Thank you! So in the store are also spices and gourmet items. So I you are looking for tasty gifts, this is your place. So you might be wondering why not 5 stars? Well were disappointed that this was not Texas olive oil. The olive oil comes from California. Nothing wrong with that, but with all the olive oil options, something closer to home would have been nice.

I bought their gift set that comes with…read moretheir whole line, and at first I only used their Chain Reaction season-all because I had been looking for season-all. It really does work to spice up everything. There's not much salt in it, so it works on anything without over-salting. Anyways, it's great, but as I venture into cooking with the other blends, each one has its own depth of flavor that completely sets it apart while every blend has a bit of a smoky flavor and a background heat from whatever chilies they use. my favorite is still their season-all, but it's the lamb seasoning that actually blew me away. Haven't tried it on lamb once, but it has this complex herby flavor with hints of rosemary, dry mustard and ginger. It's phenomenal on roast chicken and potatoes. they also have a blend for chicken that's like a bbq flavor, pork is a sweet and smoky blend, beef is a smoky pepper flavor, Hooked is their fish seasoning that is just packed full of bright herb flavor and onion but still with a mellow smoky background flavor. the last one is called pecking order and it's for poultry like turkey. it's got a light flavor, real savory, but I'm not sure what all I can do with it yet. Still Experimenting! Highly recommended, try it for yourself
