So many shops and cute places to walk around and enjoy your day. And one of those shops that we stumbled upon was this spice & tea shop. And let me tell you I brought quite a collection home. You name it they have it. Atmosphere cute, vintage feel, aromatic for sure Food/Dessert/Beverage brought some teas and spices home that were a hit. Did a staycation and hung out at the stockyards for the day and stopped by this cute shop. I love tea so I wanted to check out what they had. I was pleasantly surprised to see that not only did they have a wide variety of tea but also cooking spices. I really appreciated that they had the spices and tea in containers so you could smell the blends. I chose the emperor's chai black tea, the maple bourbon jalapeno seasoning, the truffle garlic seasoning, and a tea cup. Alex was really helpful and answered all our questions. She educated us that they have a Grapevine location and a online store. They also offer a veterans discount. read more

If I was rating on just customer service I'd give 5 stars! I visited on a weekend and even though it was pretty busy the staff still took time to greet us and offered to answer any questions we had. While I expected to pay for little more because it's in the stockyards, the prices were even higher than I thought. I was intrigued by their infused sugars but would normally not pay $5 for such a small package. My boyfriend however said I never get anything for myself and grabbed it. They had cute little glass bottles with corks but again were pretty pricey so I just got the sugar. It was bourbon black walnut sugar and smelled heavenly! It says you can put it on cakes/desserts, for flavoring whipped cream, or in coffee. Im a huge coffee lover so I was excited to use it! The woman working the counter was very informative and let me know of other storage options other than the tiny bottles they had there as well as instructions on how much to use. Got it home and mixed it with brown sugar because I wanted to stretch it but couldn't really taste it. I tried again with just the infused sugar in my coffee and I think I can kind of taste a small hint of the black walnut but not enough that it makes a difference. If I add more to enhance the flavor the coffee would be too sweet. Was really hoping for more flavor for such a tiny package, maybe it'd be better using it for topping desserts. But I'm not willing to spend the money again to find out. read more

If you are looking for unique spices or teas this is your place. There is such a variety of spices you are bound to find what you are seeking. Whether you want something already blended or you want to create your own combo. I was actually surprised by one that's had several types of zest like lemon, orange, and grapefruit. I didn't know that was a thing since I always make fresh zest. You can also find the tools necessary to blend your spices and enjoy your tea. Being in a group we got a little rushed since we wanted to see more of the stockyard. I know we plan on returning on our next visit. read more

Never having been to the Stockyards area, we became obsessed with this area and all of the cute shops! This one immediately pulled us in and we became very intrigued by all of the spice variations. I was in it to look at the teas and my mom kept calling me over to sniff spices with her haha. We have an INSANE spice shop where I'm from in Kansas City, but this little shop here had some spices and I haven't ever seen before. From rubs, salts, peppers, sugars....you name it. (Like bourbon black walnut sugar....woah!!!!) The two people that were working there too were very knowledgable about everything and super helpful. They gave great advice on ways to use the spice combinations on all things. I had to tell them I don't eat meat at all, and they immediately started to tell me which ones are great even on specific veggies and why. I appreciated that level of guidance!! The prices at this store a little high, but it's definitely a place where you pay for the whole experience! But when they create a good one and make you feel great about your purchase and all of the ways you can utilize everything you bought, it's 100% worth it! read more

They consistently sell the same spice mixes at each location, which if you are like me means you will be back year after year to get the "Chef's Choice Steak Rub" which I can't seem to do without! Just a heads up - when you step into this place, you are instantly hit with a very strong spice smell! So at least you know that "The Spice" part lives up to the shop's name haha. I didn't try any of the spices unfortunately, but I can speak very highly about the tea. My sister and I wandered in here on a cold, cold day in Fort Worth. Because we're both tea drinkers, we were excited to find a local place with the potential of bringing something back home as a souvenir. The ladies who were working in the shop were really friendly, and told us to feel free to open the jar of loose leaf teas to smell (those aren't the ones they use to fill the bags). My sister was excited to find some black teas, while I was set to seek out some chamomile. Their chamomile blend smelled SO GOOD and the ingredients sounded so soothing. My sister opted to order a hot cup of fresh steeped mint-chilla chai, and also bought a large bag (3 oz) of the same tea. I originally intended to only buy a smaller bag (1 oz) of the chamomile, but the lady at the cashier informed us that they had a deal to buy 6 ounces and get the 7th for free (your choice)! So I swapped out my smaller bag for a large one, and my sister got another small bag of tea for free. After arriving home, my boyfriend and I both enjoyed the chamomile blend. I especially love the hints of citrus! If you're an avid tea drinker, or into spices and whatnot, I'd definitely suggest checking out The Spice and Tea Exchange. Really nice staff who greet you as soon as you enter. They have a huge selection of jerkies including beef, alligator, pork and more. There were Tennessee beef jerkies, Texas jerkies, popcorn, cheese, chips, etc. my friend and I sampled a few and our favorites were the Smoked honey BBQ and The Reaper. The Reaper has a really nice spicy kick to it at the end. If you buy a minimum of 4 there is a deal. read more

I love this shop! It's far from me but I usually take guests in town to see the cattle drive and this is a great option for me to stock up on their spices and teas. They carry file powder which is essential to making gumbo and is extremely hard to find in grocery stores. They have some teas that would make a great gift for any tea lover or for use in homemade candles. read more

It's located in the Stockyards so you will have to pay for parking. This is a small store but they pack in great variety of items. Tea, salt, sugar, and some seasoning. There are small bags, while not labeled as such, I call them sample bags. We bought 8 off them for different things, mainly tea but sugar also. It was a great way to see what we liked so when we returned we got larger bags. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The only reason I did not give it a 5 was the location, parking can be a challenge at times, plus you have to pay for it. read more

My mother loves the Coconut Oolong tea here, and so I came in earlier today to pick up a few bags for her birthday. I've never been to this location before. The good: It's a pretty store, and the shelves are full of teas, spices, and tea-and-spice-related knick-knacks. I don't know much about spices, but they have an interesting selection of teas - aside from the Coconut Oolong, we bought a bag of Blueberry Black Tea to try. There are even seasonal "holiday" tea blends like Pumpkin Caramel. The bad: I assume the staff was pretty tired, with it being Black Friday and all. We weren't really attended in any sense until we went to ring up our purchase. We weren't greeted when we came in, and no one offered help at any point. The store wasn't full at all, but I'll stop complaining - I've never worked a Black Friday retail shift, and other reviews all mention helpful service. As other reviews touch upon, prices aren't low. We paid $5.29 for each ounce of tea. read more

We popped into The Spice & Tea Exchange mostly to warm up on a chilly February visit to the Stockyards. But we spent more time smelling and tasting products here than we did watching the cattle drives! I'm reasonably sure I singed my nostrils, sniffing every product available. Even thought the word Tea is in the name of the shop, I was mostly intrigued by the huge selection of smoked and infused salts. I purchased 4 different baggies of wood-smoked salts, my favorite being a soft but pungent Chardonnay Oak smoked sea salt. We also snagged a few bags of flavored sugar as gifts to bring home. My favorite was the Habanero Sugar, which left my tongue on fire after sampling only a few grains of the sugar! So unusual! While I've seen some complaints about steep pricing, this is obviously a specialty boutique where I would expect to pay a bit more, not only for the experience of getting to smell and taste the unique products before buying, but also because of the quality and out-of-the-norm nature of what you are getting. The staff encouraged us to really experience the products before we made our selections, and we felt completely comfortable and welcome in the store. And even though we initially just wanted to warm up for a few minutes, we ended up taking advantage of their Buy 6 Bags, Get 1 Free deal and taking home a selection of our favorites. I was also thrilled to learn that they are a chain, and that there is one store in Ohio, which is about 10 minutes from my office! So when I run out of my new fun little salts or need a unique present for some of my foodie friends, I'll be able to run right down the road. Definitely worth a visit while you are at the Stockyards! read more

Most amazing rubs and spices! My boyfriend and I stopped in for a quick look around and couldn't resist buying a small bag of their Backwoods Hickory Rub. Grabbed some steak filets on the way home and grilled them that night and OH. MY. GOODNESS. Maybe the best steaks I've ever had. I only went in because I had a gift certificate. I picked up the Applewood smoked sea salt based on an employee recommendation. I originally avoided the salts and leaned towards the peppers because I'm on a low sodium diet. I tried the applewood smoked sea salt on a turkey burger and was impressed. They even sell complimentary items if you need, like tea strainers. The owners are very friendly and helpful, as is the rest of the staff.
