Ate here yesterday, while on vacation. Our group of 5 all ordered different burgers, and everyone was happy with what they got. The half pound burgers are so big. I couldn't finish it. It comes with waffle fries or onion rings. I had the green burger with guacamole and waffle fries. The buns are slightly toasted and that was a nice touch. My husband had the mushroom and Swiss and onion rings. He really liked the onion rings and also commented that the burger was almost too big to eat. We were stuffed. My daughter had the blue cheese burger and said it was great, she's a teenager and destroyed it, like her two friends that did the same. No complaints here, but go here with an appetite for sure. I'm sure when we come back to Galveston we will return and try other things on the menu as they had plenty of other options. I would have ordered the mahi tacos, but they were out. read more

This place is great! We stayed at the Holiday Inn the night before we left on a cruise. The Spot is next door and delivers to your hotel room! We also noticed the parking lot stayed full the entire day so decided to try it, have it delivered to our room. It was soo good! The food came quick too. Everyone loved their food! If you want to get Covid, go to The Spot. We had heard from others that take out from here came limp and cold so we masked up for a dinner out. Here was our experience: They have a pretty good line set up to get in with 6 feet apart clearly marked on the ramp. That's where the good ends. At the end of this line isn't a host, it's a counter where you order but each space is right next to the other, so we were maybe a foot away from the next family, and none of them were wearing masks. They also have loud music playing so we had to YELL our orders to the counter girl ($100 for 5 cheeseburgers btw) who had her mask down ‍ Then she says cards only, which was fine but grabbed my card with her bare hands after I had just seen her rub her nose with the same hand. Then you have to fill your own drinks where there were easily 12 people crowded around without their masks up. ‍ Then you just walk around and find yourself a table, but you have to go get your food back at the crowded counter when it's ready. And our orders were wrong but it's so loud in there, no one at the counter could hear for us to complain. We walked out. Waiters were bringing appetizers to the tables so, why tf not the burgers and drinks? Pros: line going in and tables were a good space apart. Cons: literally everything else. Like I said, if you definitely want Covid and a crappy $20 burger, go to the Spot. read more

Yum! This is a great place to grab a meal in Galveston. They have burgers, fish tacos, poboys, etc. Their burgers are 1/2 lb, so I split the Green burger with a friend. Guacamole, pepper jack, mushrooms (extra cost, we added them) and a burger patty on a wheat bun. It was very delicious! I loved how the burger buns have a touch of sweetness to them. I also tried out the onion rings and fried pickles, and was definitely a fan of the thickly battered onion rings. The friend pickles were good, but were really sopping with grease. I hear they also have homemade milkshakes that are great. My friend ordered one and it was piled high with whipped cream. Fun place to go! Wish we would of discovered it before our last day. There are multiple bars in one with different themes. We hung out in the rum bar and the fire pit, view and seats were great. The other bars had things like swing benches, Bloody Mary bar and games. I had the Sunday funday frozen mojito for $4 and it was super good! The BBQ wings were good. Touristy as hell. Extremely crowded. Ultra bad for your arteries. Normally, I would avoid places like these like the plague. However, The Spot is right by the beach, so you're in a fantastic location. There are also 2 levels of outdoor seating, so you can enjoy your food while enjoying some fresh, ocean air. Then there's the food. It's definitely not the healthiest of foods, as everything is either buttered or fried, but what'd you expect from Texas? Everything comes in huge portions and anything you get will be packed with flavor. They mostly serve burgers, with some sandwiches here and there. There's a toppings bar, so you can basically top your burgers off however you like. Everything's cooked medium-medium rare, and the patties are extremely juicy. You can opt for a whole wheat bun if you want, but honestly, you're still going to be eating like crap. They also serve some delicious appetizers, mostly of the fried variety. The appetizers can be easily spilt between 3 people though, so make sure you're hungry. Good food combined with a fantastic location is more than enough to make up for the negatives. read more

Everything tasted good and they had a vegetable buffet where you can get sides for your seafood so you aren't eating fried food only which is very nice. Delicious food. Great music, bands, night life. The cheese sticks are to die for. Genesis was our waitress. Super awesome waitress! Drinks were really good. The spicy cucumber martini was actually insanely hot. I loved the flavor, but it was so hot I ended up not being able to drink it. My family and I ate here on March 25. The place was very busy and we had to wait in line and then wait again for our food. It was a very interesting serving style. You order at a counter and receive a buzzer when your food is ready and there is a buffet of burger toppings (messy areas) you can put on yourself. Our food was delicious and the drinks we ordered came fast. We enjoyed ourselves but I can't give it 5 stars due to the messy, chaoticness that occurred when we got our food. Not all of our meals were ready at the same time. Also with us being on vacation we would have appreciated being served our food. I thought the buns were yummy too!! I thought I heard someone say they made their bread/buns but I could have heard wrong. I actually thought the burger was pretty good & enjoyed every bite! The waffle fries were good too! They were waffle fries but seasoned like Arby's curly fries....but better since they were waffle fries!! Best fish tacos I have ever had anywhere on the island! My first experience with The Spot was this afternoon for late lunch. I ordered the Ralph Burger with a side of man n cheese. The Burger had Cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce. The Burger was sizeable and on a fresh bun. It's was pretty good but not as flavorful as some I've had. The Mac n cheese was kind of like velveeta Mac n cheese made with shell noodles. Most kids will like it but it was nothing too special. We also ordered the kids grill cheese which is on a full side bun grilled inside out. The waffle fries were tasty and a little spicy. This restaurant is counter service and they issue a pager so you can pick up your order. They have a topping bar so you can add your own condiments. The restaurant is made up of a couple of old houses they moved to this site right across from the sea wall. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a covered outdoor bar. If you happen to be in the area, it's a fine place to stop by but there are many other restaurants in the area to try. read more

My friend got their burger and waffle fries and I got fish tacos. The fish tacos were good and filling. On the side was chips and salsa but the chips were stale. I am allergic to gluten and if you tell them, they have a sheet of gluten free items. It is unique because the structure and the inside was very colorful. You would be hard pressed to find anyone who has been to this burger joint who did not like the food or the location. Sitting in the restaurant or on the balcony eating a great burger with an awesome shake, overlooking the water with waves crashing on the beach across the street (ok, the waves here on the Texas coast are pretty small so saying that they are "crashing" on the beach is a bit of an exaggeration). For kids and adults alike, this is a great combination. And fresh made burger, specialty or old standby, with a well maintained condiment bar. Plus a decent selection of beers to complement the meal if you are so inclined. There's a reason that this is one of the favorites of the Seawall. Downsides: it can get really busy in the summer time (duh...) , and it can get pretty loud at times. Otherwise, it's worth the drive from Houston to Galveston to partake. Enjoy! read more

The menu has changed since my last review (for the worst). The service is never great and at times is downright awful. The food is not consistent either. Sometimes it's great and other times we swear we'll never return. The view is phenomenal (one of our favorites on the island) though which lures us back. The lack of stars is because the last few times the food/service has been less than expected. Most recently I ordered the green burger and asked to substitute the pepper jack cheese for cheddar cheese. Apparently to do that you have to pay for an add on even though I was substituting a cheese for another cheese. ‍ Time before the coconut shrimp only tasted like the oil they had cooked it in as though the oil needed to be changed and our other meal was cold when we got it. Before that we waited over an hour only to receive the wrong orders and have to wait another 30 minutes for it to be fixed without any apology. read more
