The food here is excellent . I visited this restaurant today. I ordered my food on line which was very easy. I ordered Ahi Tuna Salad with Red Ginger dressing . It was was fresh and delicious. This salad has Avocados, mixed spring lettuce , cucumbers thinly sliced, onions and best part lots of Ahi Tuna. And crispy onion straws . The employees are always friendly and makes me feel comfortable. I have eaten there many times and it's very clean inside and the nice part outdoor sitting . Prices are fair for 2024. This was my first time at The Stand's Irvine location! I tried the Ultimate Egg Burger, Mac & Cheese, Chips & Guacamole, and the Cookie Butter Crunch Shake (as recommended by the manager, Johnny!). Oh my goodness! Everything was incredible! The service was amazing, the egg burger was delicious -- egg was cooked perfectly, the char on the patty was super tasty, bursting with flavor with pickled onions, and a soft bun! I love their mac & cheese! They ask if you want the bread crumb crumble on top -- and I would suggest that you do because it adds texture and tastes incredible! The cookie butter crunch shake was exactly what I needed to end this amazing meal! It was topped with whipped cream and crunchy bits of cookie. But wait, there's more. Plenty of choices for all, but not too many. Sides? Yep, those too. Salad, fries, sweet potato fries (highly recommend), all available. As you approach the register to place your order, you see a BEER AND WINE list. Now things are looking up. (Ok, sodas also, but I opted for a cold draft). Super friendly staff, great vibe inside if you'd like to dine indoors. A benefit I enjoyed was outdoor dining. Awesome outdoor covered dining, plenty of tables and chairs, along with HEATERS for those cold OC nights. Now more about the food...I chose the OG Stand Burger. It was done perfectly! Lettuce, but not too much. Tomato, fresh and red (no tomato butts here!). Grilled onions? Yep, mentioned earlier, a cant miss choice on a burger. Rounding things out were the fries. Perfectly crisp. My intention was to bring awareness on how service could be improved and as a small business owner myself - I appreciate the honesty to help make my customer experience better. Kudos to the owners for reaching out! I will be back and looking to have a better experience next time! ----------- The limited number of times I've been here I've noticed no trash receptacle's for patrons to clean up after themselves. This is fine if staff cleans tables out and wipes them down. But more often then not the staff leave trays in tables bc they are busy then when they do clean up they take trays away on each table but don't wipe down the tables until they bus all the tables then go back to wipe down. So you see an empty table but it's got gunk all over the table. So you have to ask for napkins bc they don't offer that publicly and then I can wipe down the table for my family. Decent burgers. Good environment. But maybe allow guests to throw their trash away to help with the burden of cleaning multiple tables. Will give them another try in the near future. read more

This place was a great lunch spot! Came on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. Very laid back atmosphere. There's outdoor and indoor seating which was nice. Workers were very friendly; they have a "no fuss, we bus" policy for when you're finished eating. My husband and I still cleaned up our table though, but nice to know they clean after every customer finishes. I got a chili cheese dog and fire fries. Both very delicious! I didn't know what to expect when I got the fire fries, but they were suuper spicy. Still not sure if that's a good or bad thing haha, but would definitely come back here for more. read more

I have been wanting to check this place out for a while, so I'm glad I finally got the chance to do so over the weekend! The pictures on Yelp look delicious and I knew I wanted to try it out. Thankfully, I had some friends who recommended going to this place after church and I was pretty excited to try it out! This location is located in the beautiful Oak Creek plaza. It seems pretty modern and there is plenty of seating outside and inside. As far as the menu goes, it's your typical higher-end burger and sandwich joint. Think $12 a burger/sandwich and another $4-7 dollars for fries (depending on if you get the small or large). In this price range, it competes with Red Robin, The Counter, you get the point. Anyways, I don't mind spending a little bit more if the quality is good and the value proposition is good. My fiancee and I love to try different things, so we often split our burger or sandwiches so that way, we can try out different flavors. I got the BBQ brisket sandwich and she got the southwest chicken sandwich. My friends got a large sweet potato fries for us to split. When the food came out, I was a little surprised. The sandwiches didn't look like they were that big. They actually looked quite small compared to the other restaurants that I mentioned above. The brisket sandwich wasn't packed with brisket. They seemed pretty stingy on the brisket portion. The sauce was a little overpowering too. I would give this one a 3/5 if it was around $7. However, at around $12, I would give it a poor score for value and a middle of the road rating for flavor and quality. The winner was the southwest chicken sandwich! That sandwich was delicious. Wasn't a big portion, but it had guacamole with bits of corn in it and the chicken was nice and juicy as well. That sandwich was delicious as well as the sweet potato fries. The fries were nice and crispy and there was plenty to go around for the four of us. Overall, I would probably give this place a 3.5/5 (come on Yelp... why don't you let us give half stars???). But the reason why I decided on a 3 rather than a 4 is so that I would not forget to skip The Stand the next time I crave a burger or a sandwich. The Stand is a local and trendy sandwich and burger fast-casual restaurant. I live in the area, and I was hoping it could be a my go-to local burger joint when I'm craving a decent all-American cheeseburger. I got their basic hamburger with cheese, sweet potato fries, and fountain drink. The burger was good - brioche bun, juicy patty, grilled onions, diced lettuce, and sliced pickles. It reminded me of the Habit burger. It was good, but it's not in my top 5 burgers. Sweet potato fries were good, but fries do not come with the burger. The fountain drink is one of those touch-screen coke machines so get ready to hammer the buttons like crazy to get what you want. It's not cheap... $18 for the whole meal. We were in a group of 15 , mostly above age of 90! First of all food was great and good large portions. Everyone finished their food, which is a good testimony from this bunch. People were very nice and attentive. What I was most impressed by is the investment they have made in their furnishings. Been a couple of years, but recently had a chance to revisit The Stand for lunch since I was in the area. Just as with other visits, I leave content and happy after a visit here :). Decor - 5/5 - This place is located in the middle of a nice shopping strip in Irvine. There is plenty of parking in front and some other shops/eateries you can check out before or after your visit here. There is a terrific outdoor seating area in front - a wide patio area with some canopies set up (for shade) and some mix of cushioned chairs, wooden benches along with tables, etc. It has a modern, open, casual ambiance out front (much like the usual feel of places in Irvine). The inside of the restaurant is quite spacious, clean, and modern as well. They have that sort of gentrified American classic style (with sturdy wooden benches and tables, stone counter, etc.). There's a windowed area on the right side of the line aisle where you can watch them do their magic in the kitchen. Service - 5/5 - Positive and polite energy from the cashier. Loved that the workers would come by to check up on us and even took the trash away at the end of the meal. Just great service overall. Food - 4.5/5 - I got myself the Ultimate Egg Burger For $11.75. Between a soft pair of burger buns is a tasty stack of burger patty, bacon, fried egg with that gooey yolk, American cheeses, pickled red onions, and sweet chili aioli. The touch of tart and sweetness from the pickled red onions and sweet chili aioli combines well with the creaminess of the egg yolk and melted cheeses along with the meaty, piquant tastes of the patty and bacon. This is one sinfully, messy burger where you got to get your hands dirty while eating it (and it's worth it). The side of fries are fantastic as well. They are slightly thicker than normal fries but have a beautiful crunch and seasoned taste with every bite. They have a Cucumber Mint Aqua Fresca (which is light, slightly minty, and absolutely refreshing) and Strawberry Rhubarb-ade (sweet, slightly tart, and filled with a citrusy strawberry fragrance). Stopped in for an afternoon meal yesterday. First impression was that the place was very clean. Our experience at the counter placing our order went perfectly. Very good, very professional customer service. We each ordered a burger, "medium well" on both. Even though the receipt showed exactly what we ordered and exactly the way we ordered it, what we received was not quite even "medium." Mine was very slightly more done than hers and I chose to eat it as it was. We sent hers back. Although they handled the issue very professionally, the new burger was still about "medium." Maybe slightly more done than the first one but not much. So, three attempts at "medium well" and no success. We didn't have time to keep sending things back. Was referred by a friend, and decided to stop by. Boy, am I glad I did ! Immediately you walk into a great modernly designed restaurant with a very bright and clean ambiance. I had noticed that the burgers were the star of the show so I decided that I would try one. The cashier and waiters were very friendly when ordering and when serving the meal. To keep it short and sweet the meal did take a while to come out, and I wasn't blown away by the burger. I was hoping for a thicker more filling patty and this one was on the thinner side, but still it was tasty. Wouldn't say it's my favorite burger but still good. The stand is a cross section between fast food and restaurant burger. You're getting a better quality burger than you would at a fast food joint but for a heftier price tag which is only 1/2 the price of a restaurant burger. All the burgers are around $8-15 I believe and our meal with a burger, chili cheese fries, and oreo milkshake came to $25 pre tax/tip. The burger was excellent, soft buns, fresh vegetables, and a meaty patty, but the fries were such a let down. The fries tasted like cheap chili cheese fries you would get at Carls jr and the presentation wasn't that appetizing as well, however, the oreo milkshake was so good I forgot about how disappointed I was with the fries. I see why this place is Standing lol. My oldest son and I were in Irvine for a doctors appointment and me being 8months pregnant, I needed good food STAT! I found The Stand which was about 5 minutes away from Kaiser and immediately said let's give them a try. I knew I wanted a burger, but not a burger I could get from In and Out. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and I didn't even see anyone. I love customer service like that! It didn't matter if I couldn't see them, they saw us and greeted us with a loud but friendly welcome. My son and I got to the counter and immediately mentioned it was our first time, and the gentleman at the register was excited for us, and patient while we decided what to get. We both chose the Ultimate egg burger All I can say is wow! Unfortunately I had to get my egg well done bc I'm pregnant, but that didn't stop the flavor from slapping my tastebuds awake. Even my baby in the womb started kicking from all the good flavor. What I loved most is they brought the food to us, and did a check in after we started eating to see how everything was. I got my Ultimate egg with a side of sweet potato fries, and my son got regular fries. All in all the service and the food was amazing. I will definitely be back. As far as the atmosphere: They have seating outside, or you can seat inside with the AC and TV playing the Olympics. My son had to use the restroom and he said it was super clean. I - like many of you reading these reviews- was doubtful that this place would live up to its 4.5 rating. Im sure most of us know how Irvine residents love to overhype these "trendy" franchises. And I'm sure we've all been burned once or twice. But fear not...this place somewhat lives up to the rating - at least in my opinion. I ordered online and their system is great, I highly recommend you order this way bc the lines get long during lunch rush. I built my own burger and got fries well done and onion rings. The chili aioli, pickled jalapeños, medium cooked burger (I love that they let you pick how you want your burger cooked and it's actually done right), and fried onions was a BUSSIN (amirite fellow gen Zer's!) combo. Their ranch actually had FLAVORRRR and wasn't watered down garbage like you get at the Habit. It was so substantial that when I dipped my onion ring the fried part of the onion came off into the ranch. That's what I like to see mane. My only complaint is that the togo boxes got soggy on the ride back to my house and the grease of the fries and onion rings seeped thru the paper bags...no bueno. Please find an alternative. Other than that the parking here is good which is important bc again...we're in Irvine lol. And it's in an area where you won't almost get into an accident by some soccer mom in a Porsche MaKaren trying to get to her nail appointment. read more

Update from 5/2/24... Management did reach out to us through email. They ended up refunding our order so I am upping this review to 4 stars. The reason for the update is that the food was pretty good. I do understand that mistakes happen however it is a bit frustrating for the customer when the onsite staff can't really do anything about it. That being said I do appreciate management standing behind their restaurant. I was only hoping for my refund for items not received but they did refund my entire order so I feel a bit bad about that. I'm not sure if we will return but if we do I will put in another review at that time. 4/27/2024 Came here with my wife and daughter today (Saturday afternoon). The young lady that took our order was very nice and welcoming. We ordered two burgers, two beers, a kids burger with apple slices, and a cup of ice cream. Paid our tab, took our number and sat down right outside the front door. We saw that the receipt said fries for the kids menu instead of apples so my wife ran inside to let them know before the food came out. They said they would be sure to fix that. No big deal. A few minutes later our food came out. No beer, no ice cream for my daughter, and fries instead of apples. We asked the young lady that brought our food out about the missing items and she said they were coming. My wife went back in for the apples since my daughter is 6 and very picky. We ended up finishing our food with no word from them so I went in to get our beers and ice cream refunded since it had been plenty of time to deliver them and they obviously weren't coming. The young lady that rang us up said she'd handle it. After a few minutes of trying she asked for help. The next young lady came over and tried for a long time. Turns out in their attemp to refund me, the pos system took the beers and ice cream off but then just added that same amount to the tip (originally %25). So the new bill totaled the exact amount as the old bill including the original tip. She kept me standing there for a while trying to make a correction but then just told me she would have to take it up with "corporate". What an absolute waste of time. At no time did anyone just offer to just give us our beers and ice cream. So I basically just paid $70 for two burgers (about $13 each) and a kid's burger (about $7). Considering their inability to fulfill their orders or make any correction of the price when they make a mistake, I seriously doubt that this will be corrected but I will update this review if it does (maybe I'll take it up with my cc but probably won't waste the time). The burgers were pretty good but not worth being over charged almost double the listed price. We won't be back. read more
