The hot dog was hard and the bun was dry. The fries were cold and tasteless. The only good thing about the meal was the slaw. I was sooooo disappointed.

We've lived in this area for over a decade, but never made it out here. We finally did and it was ok. I had my first experience for this restaurant chain at the location in Tustin. The Irvine spot is a lot smaller than the one in Tustin. I think the higher ceilings at Tustin gives it a more spacious feel. And there are more dining tables for larger groups and roomy booths at the Tustin location. Our server, Destiny was very helpful and diligent.

I ordered the Chinese chicken salad since it seemed like a popular salad according to the reviews. I requested to replace the spring mix with Romaine salad instead. Destiny double checked an ingredient to make sure that it was not in...

in the salad to accommodate my allergy. Kudos to her for her thoughtfulness. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the salad. It seemed like there was more dressing than actual lettuce leaves. Also, one would think that the almond slivers would be an included item in the salad, but it was an additional charge, so no thank you. It seemed like whoever prepared it didn't really execute it well. This was my husband's first time trying their food. He enjoyed the burger and fries, and his input was that he wished the burger was a little bigger. Maybe we'll return in the future.

Dropped by on a weekday to try their salads and ordered the chimichuri steak salad with charred corn vinaigrette. The portion was generous but the steak wasn't the most tender and the chimichuri had an unusual taste that didn't work...

I ordered a burger and chimichurri steak salad to go. The burger was very good, great toppings and tasted of fresh beef. With an extra patty it was over $19 which is kind of par for the course these days with non chain restaurants....

We came here for dinner tonight. I got the stand burger with cheddar and fried. My wife got a chicken burger on a gluten free bun, with avocado. My burger was ok. I asked for medium and it came out very well done. Sweet potato fries and the normal fries were really good. Big miss on the gluten free bun. Basically inedible. I don't know where they are getting the gluten free buns from, but they should stop, or take it off the menu completely. It fell apart in your hands and was mealy. We were disappointed, especially since we have been to other locations in the Bay Area, and there's were much better.

Stopped into The Stand for lunch today and was not disappointed! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is clean and cozy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the World Cup was on (Japan vs. Brazil). The service was fast and friendly and the staff explained my options for cooking the burger. I chose a medium rare The Stand Burger with nothing on it, add Havarti and Blue Cheese, wow! A perfect flavor combination, complimented with a fresh brioche bun. I chose a side of Fire Fries, zing! Plenty of tang and a nice heat. Lastly, the strawberry shake was excellent! Will be back to explore more menu items. Enjoy!

I stopped by here after picking up some 3D printing supplies at Micro Center, and it was a great find. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is perfect if you're looking for a spot with delicious food and a relaxed, casual vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was excellent--specifically Natalie, who was incredibly helpful. I asked her for her take on the Miso Burger, and her description was spot on and helped me decide it was exactly what I was looking for. We did have a bit of a wait for the food, but honestly, it was expected given what we ordered, and the quality made it well worth it. Also, don't sleep on the Meyer Lemon Aioli; it was the perfect pairing with the fries. Definitely a solid go-to for a casual meal

The Southwest Chicken Wrap is one of their healthier items and I love to get a side of ranch sauce as I'm a ranch sauce fan more so than the chipotle crema that the wrap comes with. It's still a lot of calories so I only eat this once every 2-3 months, but it's great quality and very clean and tasty. The staff are very hardworking and honestly they seem a bit understaffed, but their meal benefit is still kinda cool, I'd imagine, given the awesome variety of popular foods here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is very inviting, clean, well-maintained, and casual friendly with a bit of the dimmer sports bar vibe although I'm not aware that they necessarily serve alcohol or have sports on TV.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, one of my shortlisted food spots in OC for everyday food at an awesome quality and reasonable pricing!!

Perhaps due to being counter service, The Stand hasn't been on my radar for dining destinations. I'm glad that our family member selected it, as it completely satisfied our cravings for salads. I thoroughly enjoyed my choice of Kale Quinoa Crunch Salad, chock-full of quality ingredients, tasty flavors and textures. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's limited, tight seating available inside; I appreciate and prefer the open-&-airy seating options outside (especially on a nice day) -- which makes it fun if others in your party opt to order from the other dining establishments.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Given the seemingly small number of people around, service was far slower than expected, but appreciatively pleasant, helpful, and professional. I like that they identify their options for those with food allergens (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy free). Fun experience for a casual meal. Eager to taste more off their menu!

Love this place Everytime. It's one of those places where pretty much everything on the menu is good and you come back over and over because there are so many good options. I think the meat quality is also pretty good. I also love it because my kids have so many options. The service is usually pretty good. We also used them for catering and it was perfect. This sandwich is hard to beat. It hits every mark, without fail! Every bit of it just marries together so well, and the portion is quite large. Their fries are also a hit, especially with ranch. The ranch is garlicky and thick, and doesn't seem like a traditional dill and buttermilk recipe. As for service, the waitstaff were very quick and eager to please. The outside seating at this location is also quite nice.

Who doesn't love burgers and fries?? Haha! My friend and I visited The Stand for lunch on Friday, 6/26. I live in Irvine and always drive past the plaza it's in... I rarely go there and saw a that they had burgers! It was my first time and I was pleasantly surprised! I had a kid's meal (lol) - it came with a burger, mac and cheese on the side, and a fountain drink. My friend got a salad and an oreo shake! Overall, I'd give this place a 10/10. The food was delicious. Bonus points that it's in a nice location!!

I love The Stand!! It was my first time at this particular location and it's as amazing as ever. Huge location with a fantastic patio with tons of great seating. My favorite is their Veggie Bliss Burger. The crispy onion straws, house made veggie patty and all other ingredients make each bite more and more delicious! They have fabulous sides, like the crispy French fries or Mac n cheese with crunchy bread crumbs. I highly recommend getting a side of their creamy ranch and some complimentary pickles! Plus, the brownies are to die for! All the staff were kind and helpful. It's an order at the counter type of place and then they bring you your food, and even buss it at the end. It's a 10/10 at The Stand!

The Stand is a decent neighborhood burger joint for a casual meal. You order at the counter and get a number to take to a table. I like that they have a veggie patty that isn't fake meat, but made of quinoa, brown rice, black beans, carrots and corn. Their Veggie Bliss is a nice alternative to a regular burger, with fried onions, pepper jack cheese, guacamole and pickled red onions. They also have a good turkey burger, if you're avoiding red meat. Onion rings are good, but greasy. You can choose two sauces to go with it. Indoor and outdoor seating available (I prefer outdoors to soak up the sun). The Stand has a nice selection of beers on tap. Plenty of parking in the lot.

Overpriced and overrated. Burger was raw. I asked for med to well done and it was more like you see in the picture. I've had better results there but when you see a high rate of change over in employees its a sign that things aren't so chipper behind the scenes

The service is always great. I've been following The Stand for a year now and am excited to see them in Irvine. Every time I come to Disneyland I try and stop by for food. This place looks cool and the staff is very friendly, but the food sucks. We ordered a hot dog, burger, braised short rib fries and Mac and cheese and every one was bad. The casing on the hot dog is hard to bite through, Mac and cheese is awful, like Disneyland one that was made yesterday and left out forever. Burger was overcooked and nothing special. Fries had this weird pepper sauce on them. Such a disappointment for $40 worth of junk food. read more

Great food and service here. I tried the Short Rib Grilled Cheese Standwich and it was incredibly good. The short rib is tender and flavorful and the cheddar cheese is melty and tasty, but the bacon jam and the hickory sauce really make this a taste sensation. It comes on really well toasted parmesan sourdough bread too. I was afraid it might fall apart but it stayed together nicely. I recommend it for sure. My wife had their Green Goddess Salad and added grilled chicken to it. She enjoyed the salad but commented that the fried beats were a bit much. We both enjoyed their fries but beware...the fries are substantial in both portion size and size of each fry. If eating alone, a large order of the fries would likely be too much. We got to sample their vanilla custard but we were too full to order dessert. Food was served fast and properly cooked. Over all, this was an enjoyable lunchtime meal. read more

Pretty good- I had this French onion dip burger and it was tasty and very filling. Prices were slightly more expensive than Habit (kind of an in between with G-burger). They serve a small variety of alcohol and the environment here is small but hip. Ordering was easy and the employees here were helpful and polite. Will be coming back to try some other stuff. read more

Came here because of all the great reviews. Maybe it was an off night but I wasn't impressed. I had the Chicago Dog. It didn't taste bad but something about it was meh. I realized it was the bun. The bread either needs to be steamed or the bread needs the be fresher. The bun broke the experience. Also the dog was never thing compared to pinks or even costco. Wasn't bad but wasn't amazing. Just average. Average is not bad, average is eatable but because of all the amazing reviews I guess I just expected more. I can't speak for everyone else but maybe it's what I ordered. I tasted the mac and cheese my husband ordered. That was straight out gross. Soggy pasta with velvet like cheese smothered all over. Absolute Y U C K. I had the fries, onion rings, and the home made chips. Not bad, not amazing, not 4.5 stars worthy. Just ok. I would of gave this place three stars however the bun and the mac and cheese was definitely not good so I can't say this is an average joint. We went with another couple and we were all disappointed except my husband who actually ordered a burger. Maybe since it's a burger joint we should of ordered a burger but if you have other things on the menu I think the business needs to make it eatable. I'm willing to give this place another chance as I recognize that I didn't order a burger however from my experience last night I have to say it is definitely not 4.5 stars worthy. 3 stars at best. read more

The Stand has great foods, and they specialize in integrating meat into their foods in a gastronomically organic manner. The menu is sized well enough so as to not be overwhelming, and the service is excellent(as for Spencer). I ordered the Westside Veggie with a side of fire sauce. The veggie patty may taste good but is awful at holding its shape. The instant I picked the burger up the patty crumbled apart and fell onto the disposable food tray so I ended up eating the patty with a fork while eating the bun by itself. read more

I have eaten here this times this month! The hot dogs are fantastic...and I don't even eat hotdogs! Such original combinations of sauce and toppings. The fries are delicious and best of all is the ice tea! If the ice tea is not good...I'm not eating there. They have a nice selection of burgers on brioch buns and good salads. The young girl with the hand tatoos is so nice and sweet when she delivers the food and takes your order. We always strike up a conversation. Wish every employee has her positive outlook and gift of gab. Lovely seating area outside. The pork hotdog with jalapeno and cheddar is unreal. read more

the ahi sandwich was absolutely delicious. fresh tuna barely seared, along with flavor busting slaw and magic sauce to compliment the protein. wife thoroughly enjoyed her kale chick sandwich and the boys loved their cheese burger and mac and cheese. loved that they even had mac and cheese! fries were also excellent. only gripe was that the establishment wasn't the cleanest prob bc they had continued crazy crowds tromping through. had to wipe down our table bc we couldn't flag someone down and the food did take a bit of time but all good bc the food was excellent. would love to come back again, soon. read more

went in for a chili dog came out with something that may have been one reinvented. no flavor, ingrediants placed in a way to fall off, no flvor, could have gone to wienerschnitzel for 10 chili dogs for the price of one here. should have made the drive to Orange to PCH Hotdogs. read more

The Stand is a great place for lunch. We really like the food and come here regularly. I have one complaint: They give people way too many napkins when they bring the food. Every time we come here we notice the tremendous waste of extra napkins at all of the tables, and they all end up in the trash. The Stand should fix this problem to help save the environment. read more

Superb french fries - crispy outside, soft inside - just like we like them. Veggie burger was nice and "grainy." Good Bratwurst and hot dog, too. Great selection of possible toppings. Soda machine has good selection, too, including vanilla options for Coke and Barq's root beer. We will definitely eat here again! read more

From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome and guided us through the menu, knowing it was our first visit. Their friendly and helpful demeanor set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable meal. I decided on the Blue Burger, while my partner chose the Brisket Grilled Cheese. Let me start with the burger--before I even took my first bite, I could smell the smoky aroma of the charcoal grill. The bun was perfectly fresh, and the burger itself was cooked to absolute perfection. I ordered the barbecue sauce on the side, unsure how it would pair with the blue cheese crumbles, but once I tried them together, I realized the burger was flawlessly designed as is. Now, the true star of the show: the Brisket Grilled Cheese. Calling it a sandwich feels almost disrespectful--it's a culinary work of art. The Parmesan-crusted bread was crisp yet melted in my mouth, while the brisket was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The addition of grilled onions and sauce took it over the top. Words fail to do justice to this masterpiece. You simply have to try it to understand. Come to The Stand, where great burgers and beers meet mediocre service. My wife and I were in search of a burger and beer before heading to The Great Park (not so great) for a concert. The Stand hit all of the usual criteria...great ratings, microbrews, gourmet burgers and air conditioning. No one was on the patio on this sweltering day but we were able to find a table in the cool indoors. The gal at the counter taking our order was not friendly at all and really belongs at a fast food burger joint. My wife ordered a cheeseburger with blue cheese and ended up getting a stand burger which had a bunch of toppings she did not want. She ended up scraping off the sauce, lettuce and tomato. We were also confused about the drinks. Do we stand here while you pour our beers or do we sit down? Where do we get ice water since we were not handed a cup? We were met with a finger pointing to the drink station. Neither friendly nor helpful. My ultimate egg burger was excellent. Great thick patty, cooked to order, lean but flavorful. A really good combination of ingredients that went well together....not some food truck concoction of, let's say, kimchi, peanut butter and gummy worms. The tempura onion rings were quite good but the sweet potato fries were not as crispy as I would have preferred. Both beers we tried, a Belgian ale and the house blonde amber were excellent. We ate there, and it took less than 10 minutes from the time we ordered at the counter to it being brought to our table (it was busy, so we expected the wait). The hot dogs are really good, but the sauerkraut looked cooked and it didn't have much flavor. But the dog itself was tasty. The seared ahi tuna salad was the only real disappointment. The tuna didn't have any flavor to it at all...however, the salad itself was good and worth it. The side salad is also worth it...but be warned, it has a lot of red onions on it so make sure to ask for no onions if you hate them (like I do). The two best items we tried, though, were the sweet potato fries and the custard cobbler. The sweet potato fries are the best I've probably ever had. This is now my go to place for those. The apple cobbler was topped with creamy frozen custard and it was GOOOOOOOOD!! Overall, we loved this place. For two people...seared ahi tuna salad, sweet potato fries, side salad, hot dog, custard cobbler, and two soft drinks...came out to around $30. The beef patty was cooked to perfection, medium, and paired beautifully with an over-easy egg that added a delightful richness. The fries were also a highlight, seasoned just right to complement the burger. Customer service was fantastic--friendly and attentive staff made me feel welcome. The restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained, which added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. My husband and I stumbled on this restaurant after picking up some items at a Gelsons. I say 'stumbled' because there wasn't any street signage to tell us that there's this fantastic restaurant in this center. As we were reviewing the menu, we looked at their clean open kitchen and one of the friendly chefs gave us chips and guacamole to sample. We were sold. The guacamole was delicious. I'm GF and the manager, who was at the cash register, was most helpful with menu options and suggested menu items that could be adapted to satisfy my request. I had the falafel burger, protein style, and my husband had a tuna melt. My husband couldn't stop raving about the flavorful, non-greasy tuna melt. If you guys are looking for a poorly built cheese burger with lousy service than you've come to the wrong place haha. Had the best lunch with my kids at the stand today and everything was superb. The cashier Ava was kind and extremely helpful with letting my daughter know about the many options for her kids meal. Really made her day with that meal. The cashier David was kind enough to come over and check if we needed anything and my kids were asking him about what are some of the best shakes to try on their next visit and the guy came back with sample cups for all 3 of us of this amazing shake with cookies in it. This place is the best new restaurant in Irvine! Ambiance - the decor, the feel, the TVs are all awesome. Great place to chill and watch a game. The outdoor patio is great. This place is so clean. I'll eat off the floor. Service - fast, attentive, great recommendations, and very nice. Will keep me coming back. Food - where do I start. I've been here a handful of times since opening last week. Everything is awesome. Great burgers, hot dogs, salads, desserts and fries. All amazing! I highly recommend this to friends and family. As I'm writing this, Yelp says "sweet deets. Was never a huge fan of burgers but when my friend dragged me in I was only going to settle for some sweet potato fries but I had no idea that they served falafel wraps and they have a impossible style burger instead of your typical beef patty. I still had my sweet potatoe fries which beat my expectations and the cashier David was nice enough to tell me that I can build my own burger with my impossible style. So alot of people in the area rave about this place but unfortunately I didn't see anything special about it. Came in with my wife to only get the opposite of good service. While the food not bad it didn't make up for the lousy service. The cashier Emily was more focused on being on her phone and singing to herself than to pay attention to our order. Luckily another cashier came in and actually grabbed my order. Was hoping to speak to a manger about this. This is not how cashiers or any restaurant worker should be taking care of the guests. We ordered a simple stand burger and cheese burger. I spent 10 mins trying to get the guy taking my order to understand the difference. You would think working there he would understand a cheese burger has cheese and a normal burger does not. This is possibly the first yelp review I've ever written. The service was so bad I felt the need to create a yelp account just to share this experience. D'mara or something. I came here for lunch the other day and I was super impressed. All the staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. I had the Chimmy Steak sandwich and it was amazing! The steak was cooked perfectly and the chimmy sauce gives the sandwich such a good flavor. I'm definitely going back to try some of the other food. There was so many things that I wanted to try! I tried this place a few months ago and it's quite good. You can tell the food is fresh with quality ingredients. If you are in a hurry to get your food and go during the lunch hour, it's best to call ahead or even place an order through postmastes or whatever food delivery service is out there. I don't remember which burger I ordered but it was delicious and quite filling. I recently ate at The Stand in Irvine and was seriously impressed. I had the Havarti Shroom Burger with fries, and also tried the Miso Salmon Bowl. Both were absolutely delicious--the burger was rich, savory, and perfectly cooked, while the salmon bowl was fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. First time here. You can't go wrong with the burgers and fries! Burgers are thick and juicy and really beefy in flavor, veggies cool and crisp, buns soft and fluffy yet substantial enough to carry the burger. Fire fries are my favorite, nice and spicy with just a touch of sweet to balance the flavors. I do NOT recommend the chili dog though, the flavor is pretty basic and I'm not sure I could get it better somewhere else. Ambiance was great and the service was friendly. The burger was spectacular! I loved every savory bite! I ordered the ultimate egg burger. Every part of it was cooked perfectly. I ordered a medium cook and it was cooked med-well (no pink. This was conveniently located in the Tustin Marketplace and they were fortunately open until 11pm. Once we selected this restaurant, I downloaded their mobile app to see if they had a Rewards program, and was immediately granted a "Free French Fry" coupon. When I entered the restaurant, it was quite busy for 9pm on a Friday. I was immediately greeted by a very kind and helpful cashier (didn't catch her name but she had dark brown hair and glasses), who was very patient with me as I read the menu. She kindly notified me that I could use the free fry coupon on any of their availability options. I ordered the Magic Shroom burger, sweet potato fries, and a Oreo milkshake. The cashier then provided me with the number of the two top booth that she selected for us. At HopDoddy, the tables are assigned to the customer, even though it's a counter service restaurant. I actually preferred this method since it took the guess work out of me trying to find a suitable table :) Our food was brought out quickly with the fries being served first. They came with ketchup and an aioli sauce and I requested mustard on side. The fries were fresh and a generous portion. A great value considering they were free with the app coupon! The burger arrived, and I sadly have to admit that we were a bit disappointed. The flavor and temperature of the burger were good, but it was small compared the other restaurants serving $15 dollar burgers. The pesto sauce was the highlight of the dish. The Oreo milkshake is prepared with a custard base as compared to traditional ice cream. It was fine, but I wouldn't order it again. I prefer standard milkshakes as compared to a custard base. Overall, the staff members were friendly and our food was served quickly. The restaurant was clean and had the added benefit of being open late and being located in a central area of Tustin. That being said, the food was not memorable and I most likely wouldn't return on the basis of taste and satiety from the meal. I would return for a quick late night bite if I wanted to sit down in a restaurant instead of surrendering to the long drive thru line of a nearby, very popular fast food burger establishment (cough cough In-n-Out).
