I heard about this place and it was right next to Dave & busters. For 2 burgers with fries along with a beer and a Thai tea shake it was below $40 which wasn't bad at all. I've only been to the Pasadena location and this was my first time here. Located in a huge shopping complex, this place was surprisingly not that busy when we went and there was plenty of seating. I did a create your own burger with a turkey patty and a variety of toppings. We asked for some pickles on the side. Food took a while to come but was okay with the wait since we had our pickles and the burgers were delicious when we got them. There was a lot of seating both inside and outdoors. A staff member brings your food when ready. The stand is a very high quality fast casual restaurant for sandwiches and fries. If you happen to download the app, then you'll also be able to intermittently get some nice deals. I intermittently get emails about BOGO offers, which are often appreciated. My go to items are: 1) french onion burger, which has your beef patty with caramelized onions, crispy onions, and an onion au jus. The crispy onions and the very flavor-packed au jus make this a nice fusion between a burger and oniony french dip. 2) southwestern chicken sandwich. You get a chicken breast sando that's not dry. It's packed with guacamole, bacon, corn, cheddar cheese, and tortilla chips on a brioche bun. I usually like to add jalapenos and red onions for some extra heat and flavor. 3) chili cheese fries. Their fries have nice thickness and chew that are great with chili and their cheddar. What would bring them to another level is if they really pile on the chili and cheese like they do at mom and pop stops, but I still like this side dish. This burger stop happens to be in the Long Beach Towne Center, which also has an In and Out burger. I probably go to In and out with five times the frequency that I come here. Part of it has to do with having to get out of the car and part of it has to do with craving the iconic balance of the in and out burger. But when I want a solid chicken sandwich, chili cheese fries, or a custom thick patty burger, then I would consider coming to here, the habit, or Islands. In my book, I can't go wrong with any of these picks. read more

Went here as support to my nephews soccer team. They were giving some % of the profits to the team. Anyhow, when we walked in, it was busy. However , several people were standing around. It was hard to tell where the line started. Our group started on one side, then moved to the left, and then back again to turn out the left side was the correct one. So pretty unfortunate that they don't have clear signs showing where the line starts, and from all the staff there, nobody guided the gathering crowd. They also took a very long time to bring out our order, giving us only part of it. Then, the woman who brought out our meal acknowledged that she gave part of our order to the wrong people that arrived AFTER we did. So we had to wait additional time on top of what we had already waited for the rest of our meal. Unfortunately, no apology was given or anything to compensate for it. I will, however, give it a 3 star since the food was good. But I will not go back nor recommend it. There is plenty of other places with better service, same price and food just as good. read more

With today being Presidents Day and such a beautiful day to be outside in SoCal, decided to grab lunch here. Service was great when ordering and when my food came out, everything I asked for came along with it. My foodie friend went with the ABC Burger lettuce wrapped and I went with the Jalapeño Bacon Cheeseburger. We added a side of chili cheese fries and onion rings. This was our first time here I ordered the onion stack burger and we got fries and onion rings. For the burger the taste was great but it was barely warm and on the expensive side for the size. I love fries and their fries weren't too great, they were crispy and had salt but something about them both me and my husband agreed we wouldn't get again. The onion rings were pretty good looked kind of like beer batter. Their ranch was good the burger sauce was OK...they gave us some in cups and when I dipped my fry in it all together was overly salty. My friend and I split the following: -Veggie Bliss burger ($11.75): veggie patty, pepper jack cheese, guacamole, pickled red onion, crispy onion strings + sweet chili aioli -Stand burger ($9.75): beef patty, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, stand burger sauce on a gourmet brioche bun -small fries ($3.50) with sweet chili aioli + ranch The Stand burger was a very standard backyard type burger. There was nothing particularly memorable about it except the fact that it could have stood for some more sauce. I also tried the Veggie Bliss burger for good measure. This was a pretty good veggie burger made predominantly of black beans. It was girthy and the patty had a nice subtle char. It did leave me incredibly thirsty though. This location is in Long Beach Towne Center where there is plenty of parking. The interior is large and they also have a huge covered patio. The Stand makes a fantastic gourmet burger plus their fries and milkshakes are excellent too. You can build your own burger but I tend to order from their house specialties. This time I went for their Big Blue. The burger comes with crumbles of blue cheese, bacon, tomato, arugula, BBQ sauce, and grilled onions (although I requested to hold the onions). I also ordered a side of fries and a chocolate milkshake. After ordering from a pleasant young woman at the counter, my order was brought to my table. First the shake, which was chocolatey deliciousness and is immediately straw-suckable. They cook to order so it took around 5 minutes for the burger and fries to come out. The burger has perfect bun-to-burger ratio. The beef was cooked medium (as requested) and all the flavors blended perfectly. The tastes of smokey bacon, tangy bbq sauce, and bursts of blue cheese in each bite were fantastic. The arugula complemented the other flavors much better than lettuce would. I loved this burger as well as the thick fries that were still warm even after I'd finished the burger. No need to bus your table - they clean up after you're done. This location, like the others, provides a high quality burger experience at a slightly higher price than fast-food burger places but it's definitely worth it. read more

Came in with our 4 year old and 9 month old and ordered the jalapeño burger (perfect jalapeño spice and flavorful burger patty), brisket grilled cheese(perfection) and kids grilled cheese (4 year old approved!) but forgot to add a side of avocado and egg for the baby. When I went up to order, the gentleman made sure I was taken care of, even scrambling an egg himself bc anything other than "fried egg" wasn't in their ordering system. I've been to 2 of their other locations, one of which was Newport Beach, and my food from this chain has been great every single time! This new location in LB has great customer service and good vibes. Two of the servers helped me access their full ingredient lists for all the menu items when I inquired about the ingredients in the mac n cheese due to my food intolerances. They also gave us sauces free of charge since it was my party's first time here! Overall, staff was just so helpful and cool here! Food also came out at a decent time considering how busy it was. What we ordered: -Mac n cheese: This was a small cup of cavatappi noodles covered in a cheese sauce and sprinkled with bread crumbs. This was pretty good, not the best mac n cheese out there but very good with the breadcrumbs. 4/5 -Onion rings: I've gotten these at each location that I've been to and the ones here did not disappoint! Perfect almost flaky kind of crunchiness with a delicious batter! I enjoyed dipping these in the sweet chili aioli. 5/5 -Sweet chili aioli sauce: This sauce was super good! I'm not sure how to describe it but there's a very tiny kick and a bit of a sweetness to it.
