We had been wanting to try this place for a while. First time and it was outstanding. We went today and will definitely be going back . We both had sandwiches, the roasted tri tip and fried cod. Very generous portions and our waitress, Paris, was top notch. Very friendly and on the ball. The menu is varied and a lot of interesting choices you don't normally find in other restaurants. There really aren't hat many great places to eat in Columbia so it was well worth the drive. We got here and we're seated immediately. The service was great. Our waitress was really nice and friendly. She was quick and efficient as well. I was in the mood for a burger so I got he half pound cheese burger. It was delicious. Nice and fresh ingredients. My gf got the pulled pork sandwich which was also very tasty. I love when pulled pork sandwiches aren't too saucy. Instead, they focused on the subtle seasoning. And natural flavor of the pork. It was awesome. The portion sizes were large and in charge. Loved it. I orders tator tots instead of fries which was a huge portion. Love me some tator tots! My mom has bucket list. On that bucket list was Yosemite. My husbands family owns a cabin in Greeley Hill, not far from the park gates.. So weekend with mom to cross this one off that list.. Mom is a city girl, so cabin + day in Yosemite was enough for her, plus she gets car sick on mountain roads. lol. So next day I Yelp dog friendly lunch spots in Sonora (the closest city with city stuff). After reading reviews and photos I was excited to head to Standard Pour. The outside patio is great (country-ish, which I love). Dog water bowl was brought right away. All ingredients were fresh and edgy, even a little fancy, oh my. Food was tremendous. I love Kobe beef rare and they did it perfectly with point Reyes bleu cheese and fancy greens. So yummy. We had beer, but they also have wine on tap!!! Water is served in a wine bottle. So cute Music was not loud but enough so that when conversation stopped for a moment you started to dance a little. Or at least I did. The chickpea soup was made with love and I slurped it down even on a hot day. Next week we are falling a few trees on the property meaning my husbands family will all be there to help.. Gave this place a visit with a friend for early dinner. We sat outside; kudos to upper management for providing good weather. Wife and I were on a date trip. I wanted to take her to a surprise lunch in Sonora. This was part of the surprise wine trip to Murphy's. She loved the way the restaurant looked. If she loved the building, I can't wait for her to try the food. She ordered the portobello sandwich with pesto and the potatoes soup. I just ordered the cumin coated tater tots. The food came out rather quickly. She loved her sandwich as did I. I took a couple of bites. Trust me if I could eat the sandwich, I would have. I have never had a veggie sandwich. This sandwich was delicious. My tater tots were tasty as well. One downfall of this meal was the soup. It sucked! The wife took a couple of tries of the soup and pushed it to the side. The nice waitress asked if we wanted to take the soup to go, NOPE! We never mentioned the soup to the waitress. What for, we we're done and ready to leave. Here is a tip, drop that particular soup from the menu. It is no good. I believe the cheese and the starch from the potatoes did not jive well at all. One more gripe. The fresh cookies, drop the price to $1.50 and not $2.50. Pricey for Sonora, CA. Keep the price in line for the community it serves. Other than that, this was still a five star meal. The Standard Pour is quickly becoming a favorite destination. Easy parking. Great atmosphere. Prompt service. Great prices. During my first visit I defaulted to a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The burger was AMAZING. It was cooked perfectly, appropriately moist, and the flavor (for lack of a better word) was extra "beefy." The bacon was also superb - high quality, smokey, and fancy. During my second visit I tried the reuben sandwich. I rarely order a sandwich for dinner, but I had to trust my gut. I'm glad that I did! The homemade thousand island sauce was slightly sweet and it complimented the meat very well. The reuben paired well with the corn soup and the entire meal was filling. I look forward to coming back and trying out the rest of the menu. I'll make sure not to come on Mondays when they're closed. read more

Came on a recommendation from the very nice woman at Indigney Reserve who poured our tastings, (didn't catch her name! I stink!!) Told her I am vegan, she directed us here. All in all, a really good place to grab lunch. Seems to be more than a few beer and drink options: husband went with Moose Drool, I stuck with my new favorite, Indigeny Apple Cider (even though we had JUST come from the Reserve and tasting... C'mon, you can only get the organic brew locally! I had to!) Started with the full order of onion rings... HUGE plate. Shoulda gone with half order, but birthday boy said full. Delicious, but didn't even eat half. (Wasteful. I'm ashamed.) Husband got the salmon burger with side salad, tomato vinaigrette. Burger was really good, salad was okay... reportedly, dressing was meh. Bland. I had a burger with a portabello mushroom instead of a patty, which was really tasty. I also got the side salad, with a peanut-based dressing... YUCK. Way too intense, just kinda gross. I wouldn't recommend it. The Standard Pour - this place looks like on old train station, but it was the finance office for the Standard Lumbar Company. Big open space, nice bar area. TV's if you want to see them, but lots of room to have lunch or dinner unencumbered. Loved the three beers I tried: Uinta Hop Notch IPA, North Coast #38 Stout, Rogue Dead Guy Ale. Foodwise, we got the specials. Both had great sides but... My open face salmon sandwich was pretty good...but the mixed greens salad was great. The NY Strip was nothing special, for $25 I expect it to not be gristly...but the sweet potato fries were awesome. Great service too. That and the cool atmosphere, tips the review over to the 4-star side. If you're near Sonora, this place is worth finding. Especially if you like beer! read more

The Standard Pour is one of those places I find myself going to with a group of people looking to talk and enjoy each other's company. It is a large restaurant (used to be a train depot station) with ample room for lots of guests. It has high ceilings and a very open feeling to it. The service is always wonderful and attentive and the food has yet to disappoint. The weekends can get very busy during dinner time and can have pretty long wait times. Best of the Mother Lode! Kudos to the Standard Pour kitchen, wait staff and owners for a job uniquely well done. I spend half the year in the area, so I've tried every restaurant several times a year over the course of 15 years. My husband is an Executive Chef, so the Standard Pour is my Go To when he isn't cooking. The food is innovative, well prepared and has a terrific pairing suggested with each item. I usually default to one of the daily specials, so I can't recommend specific menu items, other than to say, no matter what was ordered, everyone at the table loved the food. But if they have smoked salmon, an ahi special, duck taco or a wedge salad special - don't miss them. There is a long list of artisan and craft beers and some outstanding wine offerings, in addition to some well done cocktails. I can't believe I can order a Newsom Harlow wine by the glass at such a reasonable price. And they even offer several Prosecos, pretty unique in this area. They have a patio that is dog friendly. A happy hour. A big space that certainly will accommodate large parties - and private event rooms to go along with outstanding food and libations. read more

Just a heads up, the prices on the Yelp menu do not reflect the actual price you will have to pay by a long shot. Ordered over the phone and picked up 15 minutes later, they were quick to make it, which was good, but unfortunately our $15 dollar burger with a gluten free bun and our $8 fries that we thought we were going to get actually turned out to be a $17.50 burger with $10 sweet potato fries when we actually paid at the restaurant. Add the tax, and the total was just over $30 for a burger and fries, while the menu price for the same items were just $23. Just as bad as the gross overcharge of our meal, was the quality of the food. Our sweet potato fries are soggy and bland and have no hold whatsoever, the burger isn't too shabby, considering our bun was completely soggy. Along with all that, they forgot our hot sauce that we ordered. Despite all this, some gleams of hope shone through. Upon calling the restaurant about our food quality and the overcharge, we were not offered a refund, but when we asked we were given one. Along with that, the workers seemed very nice. Another Diamondback fan- and beer nerd.. Took the family there on "pint night" (first Saturday of the month). The service was excellent!! (Vanessa was our server), the food menu small, but creative. We found the food prices to be very reasonable. Had a great pulled pork sandwich. My wife's sandwich was also good, but the side salad was wilted- a problem we've experienced at Diamondback as well. It must be a drag when the big bag of mixed greens starts to go slimy, but c'mon.. Don't serve it! The draft beer menu is large and pricey, skewed toward the ales, with some variety. Granted, they are serving 20oz pints, but $7-8 a glass is not going to draw me in for a brew after work with any regularity.. . Which is too bad- the beer selection is what I always wanted at Diamondback. Lastly, wish there was a location in the building away from the big TVs on all the walls- the kids became mesmerized. The building has a nice feel to it, and the management has done well with the paint colors, etc., to create a warm atmosphere. Expect it to be somewhat noisy though, due to the tall ceilings and old wood floors. read more

1 star was given only because our waitress was kind. It took over an hour to get our food. Family of 5, one burger was over cooked and all tasted dry and like frozen patties. The tri-tip was dry as well. No compensation for time or poor quality food was offered. My son refused to eat his food so we asked for it to be removed from our bill, that was the ONLY "compensation" that was given and never offered. Disappointed!!!! This place is awesome, really great atmosphere, very nice large patio, and has a great staff. The food was great the service was awesome, and they were very accommodating to our Dog. Our Waitress "Megan" was wonderful, quick, friendly and wore a great smile. They have a really good beer selection good wine selection, great Appetizers. I was drawn here by the craft beer list, but the food turned out to be even better! I got the corn on the cob appetizer and it was excellent! I meant to find out what they put on it before I left but I completely forgot because as good as the appetizer was, the entree just blew me away. I ordered the barramundi special which came with polenta and brussel sprouts. Talk about food pairing! It had a little olive tapenade on top that just brought the whole dish together, which is saying a lot for me because I HATE olives. Now them Very small tacos aren't worth the price .. Great spot located in the historic lumber mill town of Standard. Building has lots of character and the local staff is super friendly. Beer list is on point and the pours are offered at 4, 12 and 16 oz. Craft beer offerings change frequently. Kobe burgers are the best in the area hands down. read more

It's a very good restaurant, although I feel like they could go through a remodel the need more active tables just not enough. Also the food is a little cold, yet still amazing. The atmosphere is really wonderful, and the large bar is beautiful, rarely a long wait and usually friendly service. The food itself is quite good, only complaint would be soggy shoestring fries like you would have with a childs dinner, and the beer is a bit overpriced. Me and my husband have been quite often, and every time received friendly service with a smile, but a month or so ago our waitress literally slammed our food and drinks on the table and straight scowled at us, we have not seen her since so it seems that she didn't last long so you can't really put that on the restaurant. Totally bummed by our treatment today. We are trying to be extra covid safe and only eating at outdoor seating. My husband went in to ask if we could sit outside. The person said yes, got a table down and went in for chairs. The owner came out and said they werent seating outdoors today. My husband asked if there was a table away from others. She said, "It's a restsuarant." We really like the food and had been interested in their catering . Just can't do business with folks who don't have the capacity for a little human kindness.
