They made a fuss about canceling and said they couldn't cancel it. When I finally got my chicken wings, they were the smallest baby bird wings that I have ever seen. The Station is VERY consistent. Great food. Horrible service. I usually judge a restaurant only on their food as I'd rather have good food than good service. If I was judging the station on food alone, I would rank them a four or five. We love the bacon pimento cheese dip, sloppy joe, and the Station burger. They have good wings and crispy battered chicken fingers. The food is always good. The service however is always terrible. The first time we went there we thought it was just an off night, times 2-6 we started to see a pattern. We've been probably 20 times and the service is always terrible, but the location is convenient and the food is good so we keep going. Just know if you're going here, it won't be quick, you probably won't get any drink refills, if you ask for extra sauce it probably won't show up, but the food will be good when you get it. read more

First of all, outdoor patio/bar area is one of the coolest I've seen. They have tons of seating, an open fireplace and a full bar in the center. I cannot wait to come back here in the summer and sit outside. Came here for dinner on Saturday night around 6:30. There was a 30 minute wait but we chose two empty seats at the bar for dinner. The bar area was almost as big as the seating area inside. Three bartenders were working and they all helped us at one point or another - all really nice and attentive. We ordered two local beers and the dip sampler to start. Two out of three dips were really good - the black bean dip was kind of bland. $9 for the three was a little pricey. I was very underwhelmed with the food. I ordered the black bean burger with chips and my fiance had The Station Burger. His was a big burger with two patties - he swapped the american cheese for cheddar and added bacon - the bacon never arrived, but he was fine without it. The wedge fries that came with his were great. My black bean burger was a little too soft/mushy for my taste. I was excited about the lime sour cream but the flavor was kind of lost. It was $7 and I wouldn't pay more than that for what I got. I am giving this three stars because the service was great, the atmosphere was really relaxed and interesting, and the local beer selection was pretty good. The Station has one of my favorite outside patios in Raleigh. Great space to enjoy nice weather, a ballgame, and bring your dog. The prices at The Station really can't be beat - they are very reasonable. On Wednesdays they have half-priced glasses and bottles of wine. The Station Salad, beer grilled cheese, and pork Bahn mi are my favorite things. The food is good, not oh my god this is the best meal of my life good, but tasty. We were looking to try something new and The Station's menu looked like it had some good comfort food for a rainy night. Parking initially looked like it might be tricky, but the stores next door allow restaurant parking after 6PM, so luckily we didn't have to park on the street and walk far in the rain. To walk inside the restaurant, you have to pass though their very large patio. I would definitely be up for eating out on the patio once it gets warmer. It looks like it would be a great spot to just get some drinks and hang out. The fires also add to the ambiance and create a cozy atmosphere. I ordered the Pork Belly Banh Mi based off a recommendation from my mom. It also seems to be one of the more popular items on yelp. While it had some good flavor, it was a little too fatty for my taste. But it is pork belly, so I guess that is to be expected. I also decided to get the mac and cheese for my side instead of the potato wedges. It was a huge portion and perfectly creamy and cheesy. They serve it in a mini cast iron skillet so it stayed hot the entire meal. It was the absolute perfect dish to warm me up. The restaurant has a very chill, laid-back atmosphere but still has good service. I would come back for drinks, but the food was just ok. A lot of my friends have told me all about this place so when we found ourselves in the neighborhood, we knew we have to try it. Atmosphere: There is extensive outdoor seating with heaters and a pretty amazing outdoor bar. We decided to eat inside due to the weather. We ate at the indoor bar with was decorated with various witty signs. They were playing 90s music on the Saturday afternoon we went in and I definitely cannot complain about that. Service: Great! Our bartender was very attentive with our drinks and food. I noticed several other members of the wait staff killing it with amazing service as well. Food/drinks: good beer selection and they have Pepsi products (which I prefer). We ordered the pimento cheese dip. It is served warm and they did not skimp on the bacon (thank goodness). It does have a little spice but nothing too strong. Served with warm pita and they even refilled our pita free of charge! We got an order of their homemade chips with ranch as well. The chips are thin and crunch and are not served hot but are still good. We also got the station salad with chicken. The chicken is roasted, not grilled (I prefer grilled but it was still good) and the quinoa on the salad is a little overpowering (I'll order it next time without), but the peppercorn dressing was very good. I live in downtown Raleigh and this is a pretty good spot to eat. Monday's they have the $5 burger meal deal which is a burger and wedges, which you can't beat. The wait for a server to actually come back to our table was about 45 minutes and that was after one person at our table placed an order for food and it never came. The Station is right on North Person Street, a block away from Krispy Kreme. There's some parking adjacent to the building, but I usually park on nearby Pace Street. The patio is what really sells The Station as a great place to hang out. The beer options are pretty good - especially with Raleigh Brewing cemented on the list. The food is good, but the only item I crave on the menu is the chipotle chicken tenders. They are served in a brown bag with fries, and I have to get them every time. I have also enjoyed the burger (two patties!), mussels and "The Station" salad. It's nice to have another bar with outdoor seating near downtown. I came to The Station yesterday to try their NC hot catfish sandwich. While I was waiting for my food I got a crab dip as an appetizer which was good. The catfish sandwich wasn't as *hot* as I was expecting and the breading didn't have as much flavor and crispiness as I wanted so the waitress gracefully removed it from the check. One of the managers came out to apologize and was super nice, asking me what my recommendations were to make it better. I thought that was notably fantastic customer service. My boyfriend tried the Station Burger and said it was really good and it definitely looked and smelled terrific. The veggies were all fresh and the cheese was totally melty and delicious. Decent food but bad service! It's seat yourself and it took us forever to get a waiter to notice us. I ended up walking up to the bar and grabbing our own menus. I ordered the Lyonnaise brunch dish, which was actually really good. My friends ordered The Station Burger which was decent, and my other friend ordered the Egg & Cheese biscuit which was small and "fine" but not "great". The best thing we ate was the Mac & cheese, a side dish to the egg and cheese which was bigger than the main dish itself. Our waiter completely forgot about us after she gave us the checks and we had to wait for so long until we finally got her attention and she apologized for forgetting about us. This is possibly the worst spot in raleigh. It has consistently gone down hill. There is no outside bartender and the beer can't be kept cold in the taps outside. We tried to get a seat at the bar had to be cleaned we waited and waited then the manager came out to tell my daughter that if she is standing she needs to have her mask on, the doesn't take a single item from the table to allow us to sit down and then takes a break outside to smoke as we leave we walk past the manager saying it was the worst experience we've had there to which his was response was "see ya" read more

Parking can be had on any Street for free, walk over to Yellow Dog Bakery and grab an expresso then go grab yourself a seat outside here. We love Kyle the bartender. We always called to make sure he's working because he is the man. We love the $2 Natty Boh and the $3 broke musician. They have great potato wedges if you're not hungry but you're stopped for a brew grab some anyways because they are totally worth the calories. Great place to bring your dog. Stopped by The Station for an impromptu lunch on Sunday. Love the outdoor area at this place! They have a fire pit area which would be nice in the cooler weather. We got the Cuban sandwich and the burger, both were solid picks. We also got the bacon pimento cheese, that was also very good. Horrible experience. First, we sat at the outside bar. No bar tenders. Waitress was supposed to serve us, but was nowhere to be found for at least 20 minutes. Finally took our drink order and then it took another 10 minutes to bring it out. Tried to enjoy my beer, but had to fight off flies. Ordered the chipotle chicken tenders as an appetizer. Came in a paper bag that was completely soaked in grease. Flies pounced. They were all over the food. Before they brought the tenders, we had already ordered a burger. If I knew there would be dozens of flies to fight off, I would have left without ordering anything else after the chicken. Instead I ate about 1/2 of the burger before the flies carried it away. It was disgusting. Tried to pay the tab so we could leave, and again the server was nowhere to be found. Took another 20 minutes or more to finally get the tab, and another 10 minutes before my wife finally got up and went inside to pay. Will not be going back. read more

They are always a little bit disorganized when I dine in, but recently with takeout, they've done a really great job. The wait staff is nice, just not super on top of it? That's alright most of the time because when I'm here, I'm enjoying the patio, and in no real rush. The patio is so nice, and I love the Person Street neighborhood. Stopping by here to watch a game and hang out is a must. The food is good. The bahn mi is a bit fatty, and by that I mean the pork belly is just straight up fat, so I don't know that I would recommend that one, but the burgers are good, the chicken sandwich is stellar, and the pimento cheese is also very tasty. Today I met a friend at The Station. It was a cool day, perfect for the fires outside. Apparently since my friend arrived before I did he made the staff aware of my dog that was recently diagnosed terminal. I had no idea right until the end. The staff was attentive but not overbearing and was respectful! My dog barked in all of the love he received as well. So much love for the loving people who work here. Not your typical "hole in the wall"/neighborhood bar and grill! Nice outdoor seating area with outdoor bar and yes they do have indoor seating, but not much. My favorite time to go is Monday's because of their $5 burger lunch special. Delicious patty's a top a yummy bun with potato wedge fries that compliment the burger so well. If I don't go on a Monday then my other favorite items are the kids sloppy joe (more than enough-the adult is way too much to eat at 1 sitting) or the station salad. This is local bar in a up and coming neighborhood close to downtown. Plenty of street parking. I love their outside seating with heated lights, fireplaces and plenty of seating. It's also nicely covered with an outside bar. Our server was Sean and he was very helpful, polite and obviously an experienced server. On to the food. I had the mild wings 10 wings for $10. They were cooked perfectly, crunchy and tasty. I had a Coronado California Wit beer.....which was yummy. I also had a Bloody Mary for $4. It came with bacon, lemon and a lime wedge with 3 large green olives. It was spicy and I ordered mine mild. It was also very good. My adult daughter had a grilled cheese with fries. Nice portions and good flavor. We also shared Mac n cheese, the maple pork butt bits and the sampler dip appetizer which included; spinach dip, black bean dip and a lime to bacon cheese dip w pita bread. We enjoyed every dish. Our glasses were always refilled without having to ask and the table was cleared up promptly. That's good service. Ohhh the chef came out and served my daughter her dessert. It was a 5 Star dessert in a local bar. It was a blood orange drizzle over a yummy creamy custard. This is my third time here but my first review. I have to update my review. I often catsit for a friend that lives in Oakwood. One Sunday afternoon we were starving and wanted to walk somewhere for a quick bite. So many things were closed (my biggest pet peeve about many eateries in Raleigh--they close on Sundays and Mondays) but The Station was open until midnight, so we walked over. Their patio is still nice and cozy as I remember but this time I actually enjoyed the food as well. The hot black bean dip is AMAZING!! I would crave/order it all the time. And they have so many more veggie options now. We had a Garbanzo Bean burger which was on special and it was delicious too, though a little dry. I also think the prices are great for a downtown eatery. They also have a great drink selection, and we had no issues with service. I think we had a total of 3 people come check on us, so no problems there. read more

The chicken and waffles my friend got were excellent, but I got the farmer's breakfast plate and the bacon and eggs were covered in some kind of intense cooking oil and the biscuit was sub-par. Called up to order takeout. Employee goes 'sure can you hold on one second?' 8 minutes later still on hold & figured they forgot I was still on the line (no big deal). Called back a couple times over the next 10 mins to a disconnected line each time. Appears they give zero cares for takeout orders as my buddy said that's happened to him several times and he brought it up to them in-person and the employee laughed a bit and then walked away. Our waitress was sweet and tended to us. We both ordered the nc hot catfish sandwich, which was absolutely bland. There was absolutely no seasoning and the fried fish was wet. "Why is it wet?", my partner constantly asked. We were starving, so ate about half of the sandwich or so. The only thing worth eating, to me, were the potato wedges. read more
