Came in for lunch on a Friday. It was a nice sunny day so we were able to enjoy their large patio after placing our order at the bar. Food came out super quick. We definitely over-ordered but there was too much on the menu to try! Landed on brisket with mac n' cheese & beans, a half slab of ribs, a side of brussels, and the beet salad with turkey. Meat-wise, we liked the turkey & brisket but the ribs were not the best we've had. For the sides, beans were the winner but non were stand-out. I loved the beet salad, the smoked beets were delicious. Staff were all friendly. They do have a very nice full bar, craft beers on tap, and house cocktails. Since the chesterfield location closed, we were determined to drive to south city to try Stellar Hog. It was definitely with the drive. We found street parking on a Fri night pretty close to the restaurant. The ladies at the bar taking orders for food were very friendly. It took maybe 15 minutes to get our order, which was fine. I ordered the smoked corned beef brisket sandwich with fries. The sandwich was very big as I only ate half of it. The beef was smoky, thick cut, tender, flavorful and it was loaded. My hubby said it was as good if not better than Katz's deli in NYC (theirs is not smoked). The fries were tasty, crisp with just the right amount of salt. They reheated well in my air fryer as the portion was large. We also brought home some smoked turkey and it was moist and delicious. My friends got the turkey sandwich and the regular brisket sandwich and were happy with their selection. We all brought home leftovers so it was a good value. They even had live music outside. Um yes! First time visiting with my partner - we picked Stellar Hog on a whim due to a taste for BBQ. When you walk in, expect straight neighborhood vibes. The bartender/our server gave us a warm welcome. While ordering (and looking a bit lost), some of the patrons were helpful in providing suggestions. The owner was super friendly and made sure to check in on us. The building was spacious clean and open, and they even had board games available to play. I ordered the Grimace with a side of fries, my partner ordered the beef brisket with fries. We also ordered a side of pit beans, Mac N Cheese, and the Brussel sprouts. This was some good BBQ! The brisket-laden baked beans were soooo good. And I've heard people rave about the sides in general, so that was no surprise. I finally had the chance check out Stellar Hog and I regretted not coming sooner! I believe they have 2 locations - South City (Holly Hills) and Chesterfield. We went to the location in South City. For starters: We started off with their Cheesy Pulled Pork Fries and Fried Pretzel with Cheese. (We love cheese!) It was so filling, but so delicious. Maybe next time we will stick with one appetizer. We basically tried all their different meats, but my favorite will have to be their ribs and chicken wings. The Ribs pulled right off the bone. It was easily chewable and flavors were great! The chicken wings had a great combination of sweet and savory flavors with a perfect crispiness to the outside. Came here after seeing a Mr. Chimetime review. We shared the beef rib, which was so tender and had great flavor. It is huge and meaty. Wow! We had a chance to check out The Stellar Hog this past weekend and were not disappointed! We arrived on a Saturday evening and the place was quite busy! We were still able to order our food at the service counter and find a table to sit at. For our entrees, we ordered a "White Wall" which was noted to be a chef favorite (Brisket, smoked gouda, pickled red onion, and horseradish cream on toasted hoagie) and a redbird w/o bacon (Turkey, smoked gouda, tomato jam, and red pepper slaw on toasted hoagie). Each sandwich came with a side and we opted to get Mac N Cheese along with potato salad. On each table, there are two BBQ sauces, one is spicier and the other sweeter. Me and my partner just moved to the Bevo area and were beat after unloading a moving truck for hours on end, and theres no better way to do that with some good barbecue. Tried to order to go online and use a gift card but was unable to. I then contacted the store and was able to order through them and use the gift card over the phone (very polite and accommodating). I was never told the price of the food on the phone or at the the pick up but when ordering online it was approximately $75. When I got back to work the food was horrible nothing like what was portrayed on the menu and was barely edible. I check my credit card the following week and was charged over $123.
