Chicken and waffle

The con parking is bad. The restaurant is small. The restaurant has u pay and tip first. Then u grab ur drinks, silverware, and food. So why did we tip? No wait staff. No help from the staff we even bus our own table. The only problem was the food was good. So overall I rounded up but if I could I'd give this place 2.5* not my favorite experience.

We drove by here numerous of times and has always wanted to try it but it always seems so packed. I'm not a big breakfast fan so take my reviews with a grain of salt. Upon entering the restaurant, you will order at the front and proceed to find a seat. When your food is ready, you will go get it along with any utensils. So it's pretty much self-served after you order. I do see why people have issues with tipping because you're not really getting any service, other than telling the person taking your order what you want. When you're done, you bus the table yourself and clean up. Although, it can be confusing because I've seen people just get up and leave. The food was just okay, it didn't have the ooomph that would make you want to come back. Nice view, cute place to sit and chat with friends and family.

Overall the food was above average! The consistency of the hollandaise sauce could have been thicker with a little more flavor. Another downside was we did not receive a buzzer like others, so we had to check on if our food was ready so it did not get cold. If sitting with a group and ordering on different tabs, I suggest ordering at the counter all at once and notifying them you'd like to be on the same "buzzer" so your meals do not get cold if you like to wait for your friends Despite two things that are not a factor to not come by a second time- we will definitely come back for the pork belly (insane slabs!) and perfectly poached eggs. Not pictured is the coffee which were all smooth and did not have an acidic taste. We will be back next time we are in town!

I saw videos of Stonehouse Cafe on instagram while researching for my trip to Seattle. I loved the view and the space so we went! I was really sad to find out they only do their speciality biscuits on weekends (we went on Monday) I ended up having the chicken sandwich, which was good but needed more gravy. My husband liked the Benedict he got. Servings were big! The potatoes were incredible. I don't love that it was counter service. It was just a lot to carry our food and coffee and they didn't give us trays or anything. Our coffees were also put in to go cups for some reason which made me kind of unreasonably mad.

As always food is on point. The service was amazing. The young lady taking the orders was the best! She was so sweet and so helpful. It was a busy day, we went Friday for brunch. Sat outside and they had the heaters going which was nice. Never any complaints when I eat here. One of my favs to frequent. Oh and that bourbon lemonade was sooo good.

Charming Setting, But the Food Didn't Wow Us My son and I went to brunch at the Stonehouse Café and were immediately taken with its charming, unique setting--the restaurant is housed in a beautifully renovated old gas station across from a lovely water view. There's a flower-filled vintage truck out front that adds a nice touch of whimsy. They offer several seating options: indoor dining, an enclosed patio with a view of the water (where we sat, since it was chilly and rainy), and outdoor tables with umbrellas for warmer days. We were seated right away, and parking was easy in their lot--always a plus. What we ordered: * I had the Monte Cristo sandwich and a pineapple mimosa. * My son had biscuits and gravy. * We also tried to order a cinnamon roll, but they were already sold out by 10 a.m.--pretty disappointing for brunch hours! Instead, we opted for a lemon poppyseed biscuit, but it was dense and dry, and neither of us enjoyed it--definitely wouldn't recommend it. On the upside, service was fast, and my son really enjoyed his biscuits and gravy. My Monte Cristo was tasty, though the portion felt small for the price. The mimosa was fine, but nothing memorable. Overall, the best part of the visit was the setting and flowers. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress enough for me to want to return.

It has a great vibe and a beautiful location right next to the lake. The food is delicious, especially the gravy, which stands out. Overall, everything was good, with a lot of positives way. However, be prepared for a long wait. It's a self-serve place, so you'll need to do everything yourself--from finding your seat to picking up your food. The line can be long, and the food takes time to come out. Still, the atmosphere and quality make it worth the wait.

This is a must-go breakfast spot in the Renton area. There's a farmhouse vibe with a quirky decor and friendly staff. I recommend sitting in their lower patio for a great lake view. Everything we ordered was top notch and delicious. It's hard to pick favorites, but the chicken and waffles were outstanding. The pancakes were thick and fluffy. The bacon was probably the best we've tasted. It was thickkkk and had a great flavor. I would definitely return if I'm in the Seattle area again.

Cute spot! No table service but still a pleasant experience. We would have sat outside but the heaters weren't on. I decided to try this unusual strawberry shortcake-like breakfast dish, sweet and delicious. They have mimosas! I would definitely come back to this place.

Ambiance is great, outside seating with heaters, staff was amazing. Food was well seasoned and fresh.

Website specials

I will start by contextualizing this review with the fact that they have the biscuit board advertised on their website for November and December as a special and that I came all the way down here from the north side specifically for the biscuit board. They don't have the biscuit board, haven't had it for a while, and don't know when any of the other biscuits will be back in stock when I asked. This was really disappointing that they'd advertise this on their website only to not keep it in stock. I see now other reviewers had similar experiences. I got a scramble instead but it was mediocre. Unfortunately the food was lukewarm when it came out and my potatoes were all soggy. I didn't finish my meal except the biscuit I subbed for toast which was the only thing I enjoyed. My partner got the best biscuit sandwich and his was very good. There's no table service - you order at the counter and then find a table and bus it yourself (most of the tables needed cleaning too). The patio was cool because it was heated and you can see the lake and it's dog friendly. Would we come all the way back here for anything we ate? No. Would we recommend this place? Also no unless you're in the area and like chicken and biscuit sandwiches.

We kicked things off with the truffle popcorn--my go-to starter here. Light, warm, and perfectly kissed with truffle oil. Not greasy, just addictive enough to keep reaching in between sips of wine. Then we ordered the artichoke cheese dip. Warning: it arrives piping hot (our server kindly gave us the heads up). We dug in anyway and immediately learned patience is a virtue here. Once cooled, it's gooey, creamy, and totally worth the wait. And because conversations just kept flowing, we added the meatballs to the table. Hearty, flavorful, and the perfect "something more" to balance the lighter bites. Service was spot-on--attentive enough to make sure we had everything we needed but never intrusive. I also love how this spot works for so many moods: girls' night, solo bar hangs, or even patio time with pups. Overall: cozy, versatile, and always a solid pick when you want to sip, snack, and chat the night away.

As for the wine, whatever house savignon blanc they offered us was delicious. The salads were good. The pastas less so. One was a spaghetti with meatballs. The balls were good, the spaghetti was mush. The other was chicken Alfredo which tasted like a frozen meal. We also had two cakes to choose from for dessert but I didn't have any. The staff was nice and I understand it's hard to manage such a big group but they tried hard.

They do have a good wine list, but the pricing is HIGH. Think $25-$45 PER GLASS. Some of the wines this made sense for, but they really should consider adding a wine or two below $25 per glass. I have my WSET 2 and know a decent amount about wines so could understand why some of them were priced like this, but the whole menu being this high was strange. $32 for a glass of pinot noir didn't sit right with me. We asked to do flights so we could try a few things, but they said they were only doing glass pours. We asked for a rec for an acidic, fruity red and felt like the gal just told us the most expensive non-tannic red on the menu. Fine. For $32 a glass, I would not order what I got again. We headed to a restaurant after and got $14 glass pours that we preferred. This is a great place to go to impress someone with the chic vibes, but good wine can be found elsewhere at a fraction of the price. I do see the appeal though. It was also pretty loud when we went, so we chose to finish our conversation elsewhere.
