That's when I knew we found a gem, and my expectations instantly went up. After waiting about 20 minutes, we made it to the counter. When I asked the staff what a first-timer should get, they recommended the Chicken & Waffles. We ordered that, along with a mushroom omelet, chicken salad, and a side of pancakes. It had been over a decade since I last ordered Chicken & Waffles, and wow--the chicken here was incredible! No gamey flavor at all, perfectly crispy on the outside, and paired with a wonderfully chewy waffle. The maple syrup wasn't overly sweet, tied everything together beautifully. Our group was thrilled with the rest of the order, too. The salad was a big hit, and the mushroom omelet was fantastic. But the real star was the pancake--it had an amazing chewy texture with a subtle, delicious sourdough tang. Now I completely understand why this place gets so busy in the morning. We drove by here numerous of times and has always wanted to try it but it always seems so packed. I'm not a big breakfast fan so take my reviews with a grain of salt. Upon entering the restaurant, you will order at the front and proceed to find a seat. When your food is ready, you will go get it along with any utensils. So it's pretty much self-served after you order. I do see why people have issues with tipping because you're not really getting any service, other than telling the person taking your order what you want. When you're done, you bus the table yourself and clean up. Although, it can be confusing because I've seen people just get up and leave. Overall the food was above average! The consistency of the hollandaise sauce could have been thicker with a little more flavor. Another downside was we did not receive a buzzer like others, so we had to check on if our food was ready so it did not get cold. If sitting with a group and ordering on different tabs, I suggest ordering at the counter all at once and notifying them you'd like to be on the same "buzzer" so your meals do not get cold if you like to wait for your friends Despite two things that are not a factor to not come by a second time- we will definitely come back for the pork belly (insane slabs!) and perfectly poached eggs. Stopped by The Stonehouse Café and it ended up being such a great breakfast spot. The setup is super casual and easy -- it's self-service and you just seat yourself, which I actually loved because it made everything feel relaxed and unhurried. We chose to sit out on the patio, which had a really great view and a nice open feel. Even though it was a little chilly outside, they had heaters going so it stayed really comfortable, which made it easy to sit back, enjoy the scenery, and take your time. I ordered an omelet and it was absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The coffee was great too, which for me is always a big part of a good breakfast place. The whole place has a really nice neighborhood vibe. Nothing overly fancy, just good food, good coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere. Sitting on the patio with the view, warm heaters, and a good cup of coffee made it a really enjoyable experience. I saw videos of Stonehouse Cafe on instagram while researching for my trip to Seattle. I loved the view and the space so we went! I was really sad to find out they only do their speciality biscuits on weekends (we went on Monday) I ended up having the chicken sandwich, which was good but needed more gravy. My husband liked the Benedict he got. Servings were big! The potatoes were incredible. I don't love that it was counter service. It was just a lot to carry our food and coffee and they didn't give us trays or anything. Our coffees were also put in to go cups for some reason which made me kind of unreasonably mad. read more

I feel like I need to preface this by saying I am not the type of person who complains to waitstaff. I have literally done it just once in my life, not here, when I found staples in my food. That said, I must say the attitude here is outrageous. I stopped by early to grab biscuits to go, I was the only customer at the time. Was told to take a seat, then proceeded to wait while other customers came in, ordered, and sat down too. Ten minutes go by, enough time for the kitchen to cook two plates of eggs benedict, and have them sitting at the pass. Meanwhile my box of biscuits comes out, I wait a couple more minutes, then I go up to get them. "Excuse me, are those my biscuits?" "Yeah. ... ..." "Ummm ... Can I have them?" Then I was told I was being rude. Like WTF. If you like to wait patiently for 10 minutes to have biscuits put in a box, then be called rude in the process, then this is your spot. About the restaurant, the food is good but not great, the building is great, and the furnishings are good. You place your order, pick up your food later, wait for your drink, and then you get it. It you need anything else, get up and get it. When you're finished you buss your table. So why do they suggest a minimum tip of 18% or any tip at all? It's completely self service. read more

They offer several seating options: indoor dining, an enclosed patio with a view of the water (where we sat, since it was chilly and rainy), and outdoor tables with umbrellas for warmer days. We were seated right away, and parking was easy in their lot--always a plus. What we ordered: * I had the Monte Cristo sandwich and a pineapple mimosa. * My son had biscuits and gravy. * We also tried to order a cinnamon roll, but they were already sold out by 10 a.m.--pretty disappointing for brunch hours! Instead, we opted for a lemon poppyseed biscuit, but it was dense and dry, and neither of us enjoyed it--definitely wouldn't recommend it. This is a must-go breakfast spot in the Renton area. There's a farmhouse vibe with a quirky decor and friendly staff. I recommend sitting in their lower patio for a great lake view. I give this place a 3.5 stars but it won't allow to put that. The ambiance is nice it sits right across from a lake so the ambiance is super chill and nice. The line gets backed up because they only have one person on the register. We ordered and our meal came to $100 for two entrees, 1 coffee and a pitcher of mimosas. It's really expensive for breakfast and it's just regular breakfast. Now I have to admin the strawberry mint mimosa was very very good. Plus they ask for a tip at the register but you have to go up and get your own food and buss your own table. If I have to do all the work I'm not tipping for a service that wasn't provided. I will start by contextualizing this review with the fact that they have the biscuit board advertised on their website for November and December as a special and that I came all the way down here from the north side specifically for the biscuit board. They don't have the biscuit board, haven't had it for a while, and don't know when any of the other biscuits will be back in stock when I asked. This was really disappointing that they'd advertise this on their website only to not keep it in stock. I see now other reviewers had similar experiences. I got a scramble instead but it was mediocre. Unfortunately the food was lukewarm when it came out and my potatoes were all soggy. I didn't finish my meal except the biscuit I subbed for toast which was the only thing I enjoyed. My partner got the best biscuit sandwich and his was very good. There's no table service - you order at the counter and then find a table and bus it yourself (most of the tables needed cleaning too). The patio was cool because it was heated and you can see the lake and it's dog friendly. Would we come all the way back here for anything we ate? No. Would we recommend this place? This was just okay, I'm not gonna lie. We had brunch here a few years ago and enjoyed it, so we came back for the first time this past weekend and it was kind of a let down. Not sure if the quality has declined over the years or if maybe we've just had significantly better brunch food over the years that kinda knocked this place down in rank. But the price for the quality of food you get was also a huge let down -- just overpriced and nothing special. My food came out cold. Glad to say it lived up to my expectation, but I think the portions is a bit small. Not sure what the texture of the pork is supposed to be. This one was pretty tough but not too hard to chew. It's a good combo with the french toast for sure. The strawberry jam is also great to have with it, and the fresh strawberries were pretty sweet and not sour. Patio seating does have outdoor heaters during the fall and winter season. Parking is limited but street parking is also available. Great selection of breakfast menu items (American) but also breakfast specials are offered with different cuisines. They were out of the longanisa platter but our friend had the gumbo which he said tasted good. Portions are generous. No wait service, you order food/drinks from the counter, and you're given a pager to pick up your food when it's available. This plates gets busy the weekends so expect a wait, but it's worth it. They do have events such as live music (Djs) for 90s R&B on Sundays, and even have stand up comedy during the evening about once a month. read more

We just had the most amazing Easter brunch at The Stonehouse Cafe. I discovered this restaurant on TikTok with a few people posting about biscuit boards, which unfortunately they didn't have, but I'm still so glad we visited this gem. It's a charming historic building with lake views from first and second floor seating. There is a great menu with something for everyone. What made our meal so special was the Easter touches! There was an Easter Bunny walking around giving out candy to children, occasionally holding a really bunny we could pet. I very much enjoyed the food I ordered the potatoes were amazing. There's multiple seating options in this cabin like restaurant and the view upstairs and at the front area is quite beautiful. To keep in mind that this place is a go up to a counter and order your food and then pick it up kind of place. I will say I would've given it a five star but it's a little high on the price range. Well the Hollandaise was on the eggs and not on the side as I discovered when I got home. I like their eggs Benedict because they use thick cut bacon instead of Canadian bacon or ham. The sauce is nothing special. The home fries were good this time. They had a creamy quality to them. I don't like to eat there because it's cold and the seating is cramped.
