Sweet Spot: NOT SO SWEET! Food was not good at all, but the worst part was the manager/owner. My daughter ordered a waffle. It came out hard/overcooked AND cold. She asked for chocolate chips that would not even melt on the hard waffle. We spoke to the waitress (quite nice btw), who took it back but clearly came back with the same cardboard like waffle (btw chips were still not melted). So clearly food safety codes are not their thing since they supposedly reheated it (not in the microwave), so for clarity a dish that had been tasted at the table went back in from the customer and was placed in a cooking vessel (gross!). When the waitress came back she said "I'm sorry they said that's just how the waffles are" to which I asked, "cold?" The manager came out and said nothing was wrong with the waffle and that he wasn't going to make another one. It took everything in my power not to walk out. What a disappointing experience. This used to be a nice place Would never come back to this dump, specifically because the owner was a complete jerk. And to boot a cup of luke warm tea was almost 4 bucks and their "fruit cup" (also nearly 4 bucks) was completely out of season, hard and spoiled. SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! The service today was absolutely horrible. The second time and the last time I will be here. First, we were not properly greeted. The waitress did not come back and check on our table to see if we need napkins, or silver ware. We ordered the breakfast sandwich only to find out that we had to pay separately for everything to go on the sandwich. Penny pinch is what this spot remind me of. On top of this they charged gratuity for just a party of 4 people. It not about the money but just the service was not very welcoming. We ventured over to The Sweet Spot one morning for breakfast, having a craving for both good coffee and hash browns. They are a bit of a hike for us, but the trip was well worth it. I had the Perfect Breakfast, with scrambled eggs (adding cheddar), hash browns, and a biscuit. My husband had an omelet with home fries and a biscuit. Both of our breakfasts were yummy. The biscuits were soft and fluffy, the hash browns were both soft and crispy (and no extra seasoning needed!), and the potatoes were nicely flavored with peppers. Their lattes were similarly good. We ordered two regulars with an extra shot (three shots all told), and no syrup. They were piping hot, strong, and delicious. Service was fast and friendly. We'll definitely return! read more

Service sucks, but reading reviews beforehand we expected it. After being seated no one came to our table. Another couple came and immediately had a server, ordered drinks and even food by the time we got one. Oh and we only got a server because we asked. I was hungry and wasn't in the mood to wait and see how long we would be ignored so after a while I asked. After asking then we got one. Food comes out and my husband was not impressed with anything. Cheese on the grits wasn't melted, just was sitting on top. The French toast was doughy and didn't seem all the way cooked. I got the egg, ham and cheese crepe, it was okay after I added syrup. Ordered a mimosa and that was the best part of the meal! One of the servers spilled a whole drink on a person at the table next us and gave a lackluster apology. I really wanted to give this place a good review because it's so close to where I live! We got seated pretty quickly on a Sunday morning even though there was a lot of people there. We noticed there were 2 flies buzzing around inside, which really grossed me out. We got OJ and Apple juice and our server was quick in bringing them out. I got the steak and eggs and my friend got the omelette. I asked for medium rare steak- it was rare on one end and medium at the other as though it was cooked over an uneven flame. The rye toast already had butter on it- I would have preferred doing that myself so I could control the amount of butter I want. The eggs were cooked well. My friend didn't really enjoy his omelette, didn't really like how it was cooked. My boyfriend and I were first timers . When we came in we were told to seat ourselves and we chose a booth in the back. Amylia was our server she was great and had a fun energy. She was prompt and attentive and very helpful as I am an indecisive person. The drinks came out quick she then took our orders in quickly and it felt like no time before our food came out and it was great we both got the big eaters breakfast. I had the French toast with strawberries and it was great I am very particular about my French toast. Everything else was delicious as well and very filling. Price was just right. Nothing makes a restaurant better than having great customer service. They weren't too busy this Friday morning but most people are actually working right now. I had the French toast with a side of bacon and home fries. Did I like it you're wondering??? Yes I did. It's just something about a place that can cook french toast just right...then the home fries were hot and fresh as they should be. It reminds me of a place you for when you don't want to cook but you want something tasty but not pricey. Not only do they have food but bagels, muffins and the one thing I live for each morning, a variety of coffees. If I had to try one. Caramel macchiato and a White chocolate mocha, yes I am a serious coffee drinker. Yes indeed the specialty coffee was on point, might have Starbucks beat and I'm a huge Starbucks fan. The great thing about their breakfast menu is that although it seems basic, most items are customizable. So instead of a ton of fancy-named hit/miss dishes, they list the basics and you tailor. For example, with my omelet I was able to pick exactly what I wanted in it and there was a large variety of sides select from. No issues with service. Sweet charming little breakfast spot in an up and coming city. The service was quick, friendly and reliable. The food was just average. I ordered the standard breakfast plate. (I'm not sure if that's what it's really called). It was super cheap and included eggs, hash browns and a meat of your choice. The food was average, and nothing to brag about. First time customer & the overall experience wasn't a good one. The weren't busy at all and yet the seating was a bit confusing on wether we could sit or wait to be seated. In either case I ordered a basic breakfast with scrambled eggs and potatoes with a wheat toast. I also order a short stack of pancakes and French vanilla coffee. The coffee was horrible, one of the worse ones I seen in a long time. Way too weak..the see the bottom of the cup type. The eggs had too many brown or burned spots which ironically were not dried, just cooked with the improper pan or burner too high. The potatoes were greasy and not tasty at all. It took forever for my waitress to bring my hot maple syrup, so pancakes turned cold and useless at that point. Overall experience was bad. The photos on the menu will clue you into what to expect. The decor was outdated and could use a major touch up. The place appeared to be cleaned in all areas. I observed the cooks without gloves or net covering the hair. I won't return. Searched for a lunch spot in the area of Concord/Concord Mills and came across The Sweet Spot. I checked the menu and was pleased with the options. Then, I saw the $5 menu that is served every day. How could you go wrong? We arrived around 12:30 PM (they close at 2 PM) so that we would have plenty of time to eat and chat, which we did. The restaurant includes a ​full-service coffee/cafe area where you can get your favorite drinks. Service was great but, although the restaurant wasn't overly crowded, it took a while for our food to arrive. They forgot a couple things and one dish had to be returned to be reheated (pancakes). Otherwise, I was able to enjoy my plate of bacon, hash browns, one egg, one slice of toast which was all that I can eat in one sitting. The pricing is favorable as are the options (lunch or breakfast). I really like this spot which is in a newer shopping center that they are continuing to build up. What a great find off the beaten path away from the chain restaurants and tourist attractions around Concord. We met family here for brunch since it was half way between us (they live in Georgia and were at Great Wolf Lodge for the long weekend) the staff was incredibly accommodating to a family of 4 adults and 4 kids, having no problem getting our table ready even when our whole party hadn't arrived yet. I got the Cobb salad that was chock full of all sorts of good stuff. My son got a blueberry pancake and my husband had his own omelet that he's still talking about. The staff was very attentive with checking-in, and didn't rush us at all, even after we were done eating. Their kid menu is on the smaller side, but I feel like it's really just there as a suggestion since they're able to essentially put together whatever you'd like, even on a smaller scale. One of our omelets did come out with some wrong ingredients but they were quick to fix it, and we all left really happy. Edison Square is on the rise and tons of new businesses have been moving in over the past few months. I didn't come in with huge expectations, just simply wanted breakfast foods. When we were first walked in, we were told to sit anywhere we want as it was not busy at all. The menu consisted of general breakfast items like waffles, pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc... I personally think it was kind of expensive ranging from $9-12 for a plate. I got toast, and the toast is UNUSUALLY SMALL!!! I am still wondering where one can get toast that small! Instead of putting the butter on the toast, I would prefer for them to not because since the surface area of the toast was so small, it soaked up the butter and easily burned in the toaster.
