They've recently added cake slices, which as a single person is really nice to be able to buy in lieu of a whole cake, which I would never finish all by myself. They make the most adorable decorated cakes and cookies. Always pick up a decorated cookie for my granddaughter when she visits. read more

Everything I could want in a coffee shop. Relaxed atmosphere, nice menu with reasonable prices, comfy seating. When we were in on a Sturday afternoon, they had some great acoustic musical performances too. After I'd finished my coffee, I was even able to enjoy a very nice bottle of stout. I have been eating at the Sweet Spot for over two years. My grandson lives in Whitewater, very nearby, and we go there for coffee and to talk about life. We have enjoyed sandwiches, and wraps, and tasty sweet bits. The bakery will blow your mind, and the coffee is always spot on. The service is always very quick and friendly. I took my husband recently, and he ordered the cinnamon roll for breakfast the next morning. Even day old bakery at the Sweet Spot tastes better than most bakery's fresh goods. I had to get off the highway for gas, and while there I asked someone where to get coffee in town. He suggested this place, and it was splendid! There was a tempting array of sweets (I chose a lemon tart), and the Ancora coffee from a Madison roaster was mellow and smooth. As I sat on the front porch with my dog on my lap, felt like I had landed in Mayberry. I chatted with an art prof from UWW, and a nice lady bought my dog one of their canine cupcakes. Sweet Spot is a nice alternative to Jessica's or Whitewater Restaurant (formerly Novak's). It does have a laid back cafe feel to it, especially in the back room. A nice array of bakery but with limited breakfast options. The bagel breakfast sandwich with sausage isn't overwhelming, but filling. A bottomless cup of coffee for $2.50 can't be beat. Friendly service and a nice place to kick back and read a book. read more

The Sweet Spot is my favorite place in Whitewater hands down! Everything I have tried on their menu has been delicious and I've tried a lot. The health nut sandwich is definitely my favorite. Exactly what Whitewater has needed for forever! The best place in town to get a coffee drink (sorry there are no Starbucks anywhere around). Good sandwich selection. The bakery is hit or miss. Some items are good, like the muffins, but I have not been impressed with the cupcakes I've tried so far. Great coffee, great baked goods, and great service. Only issues have been in quality here and there (wilted lettuce and apple slices that still had the produce sticker on it was the worst offense). However, as much as I go there I can't take a star away from what is consistently a great experience. Also a great atmosphere to hang out, although I usually get my stuff to go. Stopped in to do some work while I was in town. Had black coffee and a breakfast sandwich on a croissant and hen a peanut butter bar later on. Food was delicious and the coffee was acceptable. The only complaint was the space available to sit inside. It was on the smaller side and the stools near the outlets were fairly uncomfortable, so it wasn't too enjoyable to sit, work, and enjoy my snack. read more
