We had both elected to try a blue crab taco after our nachos, and I made the additional selection of a mushroom taco, because my eyes are clearly bigger than my stomach. They have indoor and outdoor dining. We started with steak nachos. They use cheese sauce (like you find at a stadium), instead of melted shredded cheese. The meat had good flavor and the nachos included refried beans. It was a large serving. It came with a serving 1/2 cup portion of guacamole. It was very limey. The short rib nachos had kimchi on it and slaw. The short rib was well seasoned and tender. The tacos can be soft or hard shell. The service was good. The salsa is fresh. The chips have a light seasoning on them. Overall, the food and service was good. It is not authentic. The pricing is good for the portions provided. Amazing food and service. We went twice during our 4 day family vacation. During that time, I tried the lobster, shrimp, and chicken tacos, as well as the chips and guacamole. The tacos are filled with meat. The lobster taco is amazing. It's perfectly fried/cooked, and the sauce is flavorful. The guacamole was fresh and creamy. The corn that comes with the platters is great too. Service was quick and friendly, even when crowded. I also had a pineapple and a coconut mojito. The pineapple was too sweet for me. I asked for the coconut one without the simple syrup and it was delicious. If you're on the boardwalk, this place is a must try. read more

It was a beach day for me this Sunday and while on the boardwalk I was craving some tacos [duh]. Pulled out my phone to see what restaurants were around and Taco joint popped up. It had a 4+ rating so we said why not. Despite it being pretty busy we got seated pretty quickly. We were seated right in front of the restaurant doors and there was an off putting smell. Like old water/mold. We were given menus and waited quite a bit before a server came to help us even though several people who were seated after got some drinks and appetizers as well. We started off with a blue Long Island and a corona Rita. The blue Long Island tasted like a cheap drink with blue food coloring. My corona Rita was pretty watered down but tolerable. I ordered the nachos and the lobster taco. My nachos were pretty darn good. The chicken was flavorful and the queso was good. My lobster taco was nothing to write home about. This was a visit by default we just returned from a Costa Rica trip and were hungry from traveling all day . . We were seated at Ocean Alley , a few doors down. We weren't greeted there , the guy plopped our menus down walked away. Saw probably 6 tables waiting on food, no drinks , it smelled horrible . We got up and left and decided on Taco Joint. This is a super fast, almost hole-in-the-wall place on the Broadwalk. If you need something quick and simple, I definitely recommend. Unfortunately this place declined in the past year or so. The nachos were well loaded and flavorful but the carnitas tacos had as much flavor as paper. We had to ask for salsa (I am surprised we were not asked if we wanted some,or that it would come automatically with the dish). OMG this place is bomb! We were visiting for the weekend and some friends that live here, suggested this place. I'm vegetarian and was super excited when I read tacos WITH TOFU. Never seen that before and figured HAVE TO TRY. I got a burrito bowl with tofu. We also got queso. And we got the pineapple cup drinks. We had our toddler with us who also wanted one so they did a virgin pineapple cup for her. I don't know what was in that queso, but it was amazing. The seasonings in the food were the best. I was visiting this past week from New York and really wanted a COCO LOCO- the coconut drink with lots of rum, slightly different from a pina colada. Anyway, everywhere on the broadwalk was out. But Taco Joint has pineapples and can I tell you, the drink the bartender made made me feel like I was floating on an island raft. The food was so yummy! Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. We ordered a quesadilla and nachos. The green sauce that was on the side was sooo tasty. I think it was some type of Avocado dressing. Whatever it was so delicious and I wanted more of it for every bite of my food! We also ordered a pitcher of red sangria and that was great too. This is quite possibly the WORST taco place I've been to. To start off, we waited 45 minutes for 6 half-assed tacos which ended up in the trash. The ingredients are cheap, the food was cold, and it tasted as if the meat had been precooked and put in a microwave. Went there today and was wonderfully surprised that I could get such amazing Mexican food on the beach. It wasn't a typically average menu. The choices were the main items that I would look for to choose my dinner. The appys were loaded, large & dee-lish! For my entree I chose the chicken burrito with the 'wet' option (covered with melted cheese and sauce). The chicken was so tender and there was 'plenty of it. The rice and beans and pico base made an awesome combination with the chicken. (I declined the cabbage, but I'm sure it would have only enhanced the combined flavors.) The drink menu was large and hard to choose from the many tropical temptations. The price for all this goodness was the best part of the meal. I could never get a meal this good for this price anywhere near here. Had a little bit of a hard time finding the restaurant b/c the Google map was a little bit ambiguous. It's located in the Sheldon Hotel (on the broadwalk) about a block south of Margharitaville. Terrific staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. All in all a great experience! read more
