My boyfriend and I decided to get out of the city for a day and spend some time in Bucks County. Chose to go to this winery mostly out of convenience and were somewhat disappointed. We really enjoy going to wineries and tasting wines and supporting local business. This winery seems more concerned with hosting events than making good wine. We tried 10 different wines, mostly dry. Maybe you'll like this place more if you like sweet wines. We don't. We did, however, buy a bottle of Rose, for the summer. It was nice, but no different than any other rose I've had. What we were really disappointed in was the service. Staff seemed friendly enough, but it took forever to get someone to give us a tasting. Additionally, the staff didn't tell us ANYTHING about the wines as we were trying them. Just poured and walked away. Maybe some of this is because they were pretty busy that day, but then you should put more staff on the tasting bar. I like to learn about the wines, how they were made, where the grapes come from. But we got nothing! $7 for a tasting of 5 wines and you get to keep your glass, so that's fun I guess. Altogether, a very "meh" experience. Next time we go to Bucks County, we'll go to a different winery. read more

Ok so when I love, I love big! We didn't go for a show or even on a weekend. We went on a cold Monday in November and had a great time. The wine tasting was sooooo informative and we definitely bought some bottles for the road. We asked about a cheese platter and the owner who seems to also be a chef made us one... It was DELICIOUS and FRESH!!! Grapes, shrimp, cheese, pepperoni, crackers, and more cheese! There's like a dining area to the side of the store and we were able to buy a bottle and just relax in there while we finished our large platter of awesomeness. Definitely will be back! read more

Wow as good as it gets fits the right description. I attended there first Sunday brunch today , and bit hit the mark in many ways. Food quality was very good, selection was simple but well done. First time at this venue. Came for dinner before Christmas Show. Plenty of empty tables upon arrival. Within 5 minutes after seating,very obnoxious loud couple sat seated directly behind us. Ordered wedge salad, asked for no cheese. Sskad came out with feta cheese. When I told waitress she took it away and brought it right back explaining it was feta cheese. Again I said I asked for no cheese. Dinner was expensive $65 for a burger, soup and salad and 2 glasses of wine (their wine). Acoustics may be loud since it was once a barn but more attention to table placement should've given. Not sure how they would handle a crowd. read more

NHW is on the top of our list when it comes to a great night (or afternoon) out in the area. The food is excellent, their wines top notch, the concerts and the venue are as good as it gets. We were going to the music venue to see a show so we decided it would be convenient to go to the Pour House on the property to eat dinner first. What a mistake. Two really awful salads. One Appetizer that has great ambitions but was executed awfully. Since when is something as simple as a baked Brie served without being baked. I'm thinking maybe the kitchen help were the ones baked. We are what we could because we had no other immediate options with tickets for a concert next door but never again! Awful awful awful! Lousy. Literally 4 entree items on the menu. Screwed up my check tonight and the waitress chased after me down to the concert venue as she charged me the wrong check. No apology. She was in such a hurry that she had to come back to return my credit card. Overpriced wine selections...13 bucks for a glass of ca pinot noir..give me a break. We only ate here because it was on the grounds of the concert venue. What if we weren't going to the concert? How would they have recouped a lousy 14 bucks? Overall, compared to the other wineries on the Bucks County Wine Trail, New Hope Winery is pretty impersonal and overpriced. I have passed by the New Hope Winery countless times and always wanted to stop in. They have a sizable retail shop that sells some antiques and wine-related tools and accessories. Nothing terribly unique in the store, but I browsed around for a little while. You pay for your tasting when you walk in the door -- $7 per person. You get a souvenir glass that has New Hope Winery etched into the side of it. Kind of a throwaway in my opinion -- just not the kind of thing I like. The tasting consisted of 7 1-ounce wine samples you choose from their list. Five samples is probably about a third or a quarter of their wines. They had two people behind the counter and while the guy who was serving us tried to be attentive, the wine was at the other end of the bar and he was accommodating the different wine choices of at least 6 people including us, not to mention anyone I couldn't see on the other side. Not a lot of chance to ask questions or find our more about the winery. I didn't love the wine -- nothing sticks out to me. Compared to other wineries in the area, this one seemed the most like a tourist stop positioned on the road between Peddler's Village and New Hope. I wouldn't go back and if I had guests in town, I'd take them to one of the more personable wineries down the road. With all of this said, they get some great singer-songwriters and bands there in the evenings. I've not had a chance to check any out, so I don't know how that is, but if I ever do go, perhaps that would change my opinion. This is a decent winery. The tasting is $7 and you can pick 5 wines out of 20. You keep the small little glass they give you but the wines aren't very good. They have a lot of sweet wines but not many things you want to serve to other people. They also sell a lot of little wine knick knacks but I wouldn't drive 45 minutes from civilization for it. read more

Our first visit to the New Hope Winery was yesterday to celebrate my Mother's 50th Birthday. We enjoyed Downtown New Hope, Peddler's Village and the New Hope Winery. Our party of 3 arrived around 3pm with the intention of participating in their renown wine tasting. When I approached the cash register I mentioned to the woman behind the counter that we were there to celebrate my mothers' birthday and that we were there for a tasting. We chatted about how it was our first visit to New Hope and the winery and that we found them by doing some research online. While she was charging my credit card I was disappointed to notice a sign that described an optional upgrade for the tasting where chocolates can accompany the wine. By now it was too late to change but I was just bummed she didn't offer this option--we definitely would have considered it based on the special occasion! We were excited that upon arrival there seemed to be only one other small group ahead of us (we read online that weekends can be quite busy). Unfortunately, by our second round of sips the entire bar area was full. Although the sommelier was polite and informative, it became obvious very quickly that he was in over his head with the crowd. We probably wouldn't have noticed (since we were definitely enjoying our own company) but they don't have chairs or stools so the prolonged standing was a problem for my lower back (not that it is their fault I have back issues!) Overall we had a nice time and left with several bottles we look forward to enjoying with my Mom. I know she had a great time so really that is all the matters. I'm not sure we would go back again but if you're in the area and want to sample some interesting wines it is worth a visit! read more

We stopped by on our way home from New Hope and we were very impressed. There was a good variety of wines to choose from for tasting. The staff were very attentive and had good recommendations. We had a cheese and cracker platter to go with the wines and it was very well executed with a nice variety of cheeses, crackers and dried fruits to cleanse the pallet between wines. The atmosphere was rustic and inviting with the tasting area feeling intimate. If the event area staff are as good as the wine tasting staff I wouldn't hesitate to have any get together here. I would certainly recommend stopping by if your in the area, I certainly will be back to try more varieties. read more

I purchased 4 tickets for the John Waite concert which will be May 18th. I purchased these Jan 6th 2020, I was laid off Jan 10th. I requested a refund because I could no longer afford the tickets . They explained the policy is no refunds. I was hoping they would understand & refund me but they did not. I posted a review on google explaining my situation & I got a response from New Hope Winery stating again the policy is no refunds which I already knew. I was just hoping they would put people before profits but they do not. read more

This was my second visit to New Hope Winery. Two years ago, the tasting was $5 with chocolate and complimentary glass. It now costs $10 per tasting, and yes you still get to keep the glass. What happened here? We were not here for a few years and the whole shopping for wine is gone except for a few behind the register. I got the cherry and drank it at home it should have been since it cost almost $17.00 a bottle. We went to bar and had two beers then left. It's now called the poor house. It has a nice atmosphere but I'm not about to pay $10. for a plate of cheese and crackers. Please bring back the old way when you can browse about and pick several wines at a decent price. I won't be back I'll go to chads in peddlers village or Buckingham winery. read more

Fail! : I have explored and experienced many wineries... NJ, NY, Napa/Sonoma and so on. I took a friend to her first tasting yesterday at this winery and was disappointed. Wine tastings - at least in my mind - should be be about the wine and experience. The wine's were passable - but we all know that is subjective. The experience was... poor. First - a tiny plastic "cup is not a very engaging way to experience wine. Ok I could have paid more for a glass - but that is not the point. It felt weird carrying our medicine cups to the counter. And equally as poor is someone behind the counter that is not engaging and really seemed disinterested. He would come pour some wine and then disappear... come back in time to pour again... then off. When asked a lil about the wines he simply said the grapes are from Erie... and disappeared again. I shared my view on Facebook and others agreed, they have less than fun experiences at your place. Am sure others love this place.. but our experience on this day was less than fun... and naturally - we did not buy anything. And worse, i felt I had introduced my friend to wine tastings from the bottom... I do highly recommend (and will add this to yelp) Alba Winery and Cape May Winery - among others. thought you should know.... this one fails~! read more

As someone who has spent a good deal of time visiting wineries both here in Bucks County and across the country I am not opposed and expect to pay for a tasting. However, $7 for tasting here only allows you 5 tastes. There were over 20 wines here and had I been able to taste more I might have found one I enjoyed. I also asked a number of questions that the staff was not able to answer. For example: What varietal do you use for the Le Nouveau? What varietal makes up the Rose? Is it a blend of red and white? Overall not impressed and I would not suggest this as a stop to friends unless you are looking for wine related merchandise. read more

My mother-in-law's birthday is coming up later this week, and since my wife will be out of town for a week and miss it, I suggested we do something nice for her mom this past weekend. With budgets being a bit limited, her sister suggested a winery she knew of to take her to that is FREE - so the plan was set. Mind you, I've never been to a winery, nor am I a wine snob of any sort (I used to drink Night Train bc it was only $0.79/bottle back in the day) I've only recently become slightly familiar with wines. So we drive to this place in New Hope (away from the cluster of New Hope shops) - which in itself was a scenic experience as we drove all along the Delaware River to get there. We arrived at a rustic, kind of old barn-looking building which was the winery. We walked in and the building had that old charm of the country, like you might find at an antique shop. We were greeted by a man at a front counter, who gave us a listing of their wines and directed us to the tasting counter in the back. The listing noted a limit of 4 wines per person are allowed for the tasting (but I believe I had 5.) The samples are given in little plastic cups, which I guess I didn't expect, but wouldn't balk at either. I have to say, the wines were quite tasty, especially a White Peach, Almondiera (made w/almond extract, a bit reminiscent of Amaretto) and one named Niagara, I believe - those were my favorites. They also had others such as strawberry, raspberry, cherry, white and red sangria, and a list of other reds and whites. All are for sale and range from $9.99 to I believe $19.99. Together we bought my wife's mom 4 bottles, and then one a piece for ourselves. One note: as I said before, I'm no wine connoisseur, but I thought I should let you know I noticed the bottles are not dated with a year, nor are they corked - they have a screw-off cap, with some plastic cover btwn bottle and cap. This winery also had numerous items for sale, such as different wine racks, decorative single bottle holders, and other artistic items. So, all in all, this was a great, inexpensive place to go, taste some wine, peruse artsy stuff, snag a few bottles for cheap, and not take a lot of time to be in, enjoy, and look around. They also have a service where they will make a custom label for you (for say, as a gift.) They also had something where you could turn the bottle into a light once empty - to save the memory (of the customized bottle.) All staff were extremely nice, and we weren't rushed at all through our tasting. The place wasn't busy when we went either - not sure if that was Superbowl related or not. There was also a loft area w/tables & chairs that wasn't being used at the time we were there, but can be reserved for parties. It's worth checking out - it could even be part of a cheap Valentine's Day date, and you could pick up a bottle of Strawberry wine (which they were advertising for the holiday) for only $9.99. I'd take the wife again, as she really enjoyed it. One last note, you can bring kids (my wife's sister brought her 2-year-old in a stroller) they just obviously can't drink. So they advertise shows at a given price. Then they add a $5.00 "Service Charge" per ticket. Doesn't matter where you buy the ticket, online, in-person, by phone. It's just $5.00 more than the advertised price. Why not just be honest and raise all the prices by $5.00, because bottom-line, that's what you're actually charging. Came here to eat after struggling to find a restaurant with a less than 2 hour wait in the area. The only negative thing I can say is that the restaurant seems very under staffed. We were not greeted right away and were told there's a wait, even though half the tables were empty. So we sat at the bar. Wings were very good, so were the burgers. Not bad for food!!!!! The girl behind the bar was attentive and nice. Would recommend for food. Didn't try wine. read more

This has got to be the worst winery I have ever been to and the most expensive. They charge $10 for 5 tastes. They do not have vineyards on site, so I guess they get their grapes shipped in from who knows where. Keep on driving when you see this winery. My friend and I went here 6 weeks ahead of time to plan for a bachelorette party we were planning for our other friend. We had rented a huge party bus with 25 people and wanted to stop in for cocktails at 5PM and use their bar before going to our final dinner spot (leaving at 6:45PM - so 1h45m total time). We spoke to management, loved the setting, etc. everything seemed great - they wrote us down on their calendar for our future date - everything was fine so we thought. The day before the event I called to confirm, no one picked up. I called the morning of to confirm and the manager I spoke to was very quick to say "no you are not coming in today" which I was shocked about. We watched them write down our group date on their calendar. I argued back and forth with her about our visit which was happening in 6 hours. I believe she thought we were trying to come in for a wine tasting (which end at I think 4PM), which we were not - we only wanted to use the bar. She finally agreed that it was fine for us to come in (Which, really? Why would you turn down people who want to use your bar?) but she said they were going to be having an art show at 7PM and they would be very busy. Later that day we get there at 5PM and were all being relatively quiet (as quiet as 25 girls can be) and the place is completely dead aside from maybe 4 other people at the bar. There are a few restaurant goer's in a separate section but otherwise it was pretty dead. Anyways, we're standing around and we overhear the manager going around to the other guests apologizing to them for us being there. It made us feel very unwelcome. We were all paying for our drinks (most of us bought at least 2 drinks plus tip) so it was strange that they'd make us feel that way when they probably earned an extra $500 in less than 2 hours. My friend and I who originally planned the event looked at their calendar which was hanging on the wall and sure enough our event was on the calendar for that date! So it was written there the whole time. The bride to be finally confronted the manager and said how they were making us feel unwanted, the manager claimed she had no idea what we were talking about and stumbled through excuses. She eventually gave the bride to be a free bottle of wine (Which was a nice gesture) but we decided to wrap things up and leave earlier. I will never frequent this place again and neither will any of the 25 girls that came to the bachelorette with us. read more
