This is a delayed post from July, but I sincerely feel the need to Yelp about it. My husband and I came and spent the night at The Langham, and dined here on Sunday for breakfast. We arrived around 10:15 ish. Upon arrival, the hostess asked if we are here for breakfast or dim sum, we were confused by this question, so we asked for clarification, immediately the restaurant is serving breakfast AYCE, but at 11, Dim Sum will be brought out, and that is a different price. We were not going to wait an extra 45 mins to eat, so we told her breakfast. As we were being seated, we walked past a dessert bar, and a very impressive breakfast display ( no signs of dim sum). Once we were seated, our hostess again, reminded us, "dim sum will be brought out at 11, and you will NOT be allowed to eat it!", her words, not mine. I was completely blown away! After 20 mins of dining I maneuvered to the dessert display, which was located at the front, the hostess while on task with incoming parties, stopped and walked over to me, to tell me, I didn't pay for dessert, which is part of dim sum. OMG! This is ridiculous! Dim Sum was finally brought out at 10:50 ish, I checked it out, includes Congee and Peking Duck. Nothing out of the ordinary. I couldn't tell you how well the Dim Sum tastes, since I didn't "pay for it". The continental breakfast and made to order crepe and omelette bar was good, nothing spectacular. But what is Epic is how nickel and dime The Terrace is. Here is a business equation, if I am already seated and eating at 10:30, after an omlette, crepe, and any additional pastries offered, I won't likely be able to fit an extra Har Gow into my stomach. Even if I do, its minimal. However, what I do know is, this nickel and dime game you operate, is a lasting memory. read more

Very poor quality food at a ridiculous price. My custom omelette was not properly cooked and egg juice ended up all over my plate. All food in the silver domes was cold - not even sort of warm. Muffins were dry. My coffee sat unfilled for way too long. Ihop would've been a better choice and way cheaper. read more

Brought 4 very special guests for Sunday Brunch and I'm embarrassed because the quality was not there. The service was decent, as was the ambiance. The live music was OK...but a little loud for conversation. I hate to say this, but the buffet was thoroughly disappointing. It was very dated and limited...certainly not worth $50+ each. The abysmal Dim Sum was poor and not worth it. There was no whipped cream nor fresh strawberries for the luke warm Belgian waffles, no carving stations, no cheese selections, no salads, no shrimp/crab, no cold meats...that's basic! The omelet station was nothing special, either. When I returned for seconds, there was nothing else I wanted to try. This is the first time I left a buffet and was still hungry! We expected better from a restaurant/hotel that is nestled within one of California's prime real estate areas. Fooled again! The Terrace's buffet lacks creativity and does not capitalize on the huge potential to attract their affluent neighborhood that wants quality and variety. I have visited the Terrace a few times in the past and every time we go there, the service is always inconsistent and lacking the sense of urgency. I understand this restaurant is at the Langham and there is sense of elegance and luxury but this was not the case on my visit for Father's Day. First of all we were sat 30 minutes pass our reservation and once we were sat and the server assistant or busser offered us beverages , eventually the server came over and offered other menu choices . We placed our order for 3 french onion soups for 1 st. course and 2nd course was Caesar Salad with Salmon, Cheeseburger and Short Hash Breakfast. Our first course took almost 30 minutes and our lunch arrived around 45 mins later and it was cold and my salad was warm and welted. We couldn't find our server to pay for the check , Manager came over and asked how everything was and told him " it could have been better". No response from Manager he walked away and the server dropped off check , when we exited the restaurant not 1 employee even said Thank you or Goodbye. This will be the last time I will dine at The Terrace maybe I will try the Royce next time. read more

Previously The Huntington, The Huntington Sheraton, The Ritz Carlton and now the Langham. "Dined" at The Terrace today in the Langham incarnation of the old hotel. Sadly, my impression of my last visit under the Ritz remains. Ambiance: Good. Classic, Old Pasadena Food: Good, Four Stars Service: Two Stars. Made reservations for two, window seat, 11:30 AM. Hostess: brusque, hurried. Had to request a window seat. Mere minutes after being seated the waiter comes and asks if we we are ready to order. No wine list proffered, no time given to ponder the menu. Attitude, lets turn the tables ASAP. It's the holidaze. I request a wine list. Waiter seems impatient. My friend and I order a glass of wine and I tell the waiter that we would like to enjoy our wine for a bit before ordering. Waiter seems frustrated. New waiter appears. Better. My friend and I did savor our lunch. Do again. Nah. I don't think so. Service counts big time. read more

As the saying goes, "better late than never". I should've wrote this review sooner, as my friend and I had brunch here last week. Oh my, where should I start? There's an array of foods to choose from. Certainly, you will tickle your food fancy before leaving this brunch. Everything from the ambiance, whether indoors or outside, to the cutlery on the table, was nearly impeccable. Sorry, did I fail to mention this is a buffet? However, this isn't a typical buffet, as every edible delight seemed to have been prepared with culinary expertise. There are numerous food stations with different cuisines, in addition to the dessert station. I indulged myself with a fruit crepe, which is prepared before you at the dessert station, and it was mouthwatering. For those of you that may like champagne with your meal, it's included with the brunch. Surely, a satisfying brunch like this doesn't come cheap, but you deserve to treat yourself to a brunch of this kind. Rarely, do I give a five-star rating, but this brunch came close. The only complaint, if any, that I have is that the staff at the stations weren't as inviting as expected from a restaurant of this kind. The staff at the stations were nice, but they seem to talk only after you ask what are they serving. In a more upscale restaurant as this, patrons should be approached with a smile and invited to try the food(s) that's being prepared and/or offered at each station. This was a truly underwhelming brunch buffet. My mother and I made reservations for Thanksgiving and we were totally disappointed. We basically paid $100 for the both of us to have mediocre fruit, muffins, and omeletes made by a grumpy omelette chef who clearly did not want to be there. The beautiful property was not enough to make up for this sad experience. read more

I love food. I love wine. I know nothing about either. I just know I love it. And I love The Terrace at the Langham in Pasadena. Chef Cyril Kabaoglu fed us the most flavorful and wonderful dishes, accompanied by the most delicious and perfect wines. It was a magical night and The Terrace and its staff provided us with an environment in which to catch up with old friends and relax from the stress of the week. As I said, I know nothing about food but I can tell you that the evening ended with a chocolate souffle with banana sauce. Chef Cyril is a genius with the savory AND sweet. Treat yourself. Came here for brunch with a girlfriend to enjoy the stunning surroundings and Sunday afternoon Pasadena vibe. We were, initially, a little put off by the price for a fairly run-of-the-mill Sunday brunch buffet (58 bucks a person, which includes bottomless mimosas), but we thought, 'What the hell, we'll show them bottomless!' We left our table to get our food--decent--and when we came back there were no mimosas... no tea we'd ordered, no coffee... Hmmm. We were well into our breakfast before we were finally able to flag down a busser and ask her about the whereabouts of our waiter, who we hadn't seen since we'd ordered. She looked puzzled, but promptly came back with two glasses of champagne. At this point, who needed the orange juice? We had some catching up to do. Upon completion of the first glass, we waited another ten minutes for the same busser to pass by our table again. She again came back with two more glasses. We emptied those in short order, and finally spied our waiter on the other side of the room. Unable to flag him down, we found a manager who was wandering around checking on guests, and we were able to get his attention. He smiled apologetically, said a couple of things under his breath that I could not quite decipher, and he promptly came back to our table with one very full mimosa. At this point we were confused, because there were clearly two of us, and we had very clearly ordered more bottomlessness of champagne, but before we could protest... he was G-O-N-E. At this point, things were just plain odd, and it was then that our harried waiter showed up with our check, and apologized profusely for keeping us waiting (??). Like, what?? We assured him we weren't quite ready for our check, but would really love not sharing a singular mimosa. He apologized again, took away our tab, and brought us a couple of glasses. We were there for two hours. I will say this, without prompting, they didn't charge us for the bottomlessness. We walked out paying 48 bucks, each, instead. The one highlight of the day was the unaffected, beguiling Savannah who was running plastic champagne flutes to guests on the pool side patio. She brought us one on the house. Food for lunch was really good. Service was pretty good too. Problem is the furniture. What is with the very tired white wicker that is completely chipped indoors? It seems so strange and out of place. And it's super old and in very bad condition. We had breakfast outside as well where there was normal furniture and that was great. At least I didn't have to look at the chipped white wicker. The service could be more attentive. read more

We made reservations for brunch for my mother in laws birthday. When we got there they asked if we wanted to be seated inside or outside. We said inside because it's 100 degrees outside. They told us we had to wait so we sat for about 15 minutes then they came and sat us in some little private room with 3 tables, completely isolated, with zero views to anything. I asked if we could be reseated in the actual dining room. They said we would have to wait again. When we made the reservation we were asked if it was a special occasion and we said it was for our mothers birthday. Awful customers service. We left. There were several open tables inside yet they couldn't seat us? There was only 3 of us. Really disappointed in this place. What's the point of making reservations if they can't accommodate you. We were treated like we just rolled in from the street. Got dressed up for the occasion. Just to be treated like crap and leave. Thanks for ruining our special day. read more

My mom and I came here especially for the Prime Rib special. The restaurant is exceptionally beautiful with gorgeous windows and a wonderful patio overlooking the pool. Our waiter was very nice especially since he was responsible for all of the tables, inside and outside. The mixed green salad with the vanilla oil was wonderfully light yet full bodied, I attribute it to the vanilla oil which was not sweet in the slightest bit but deep and exotic. The prime rib itself was also great, with a perfect crust on the outside just beware that rare is very rare so order medium rare or medium if you like it pink. What makes this restaraunt so good is that they have the basics down, which in my opinion is so much better than a restaraunt that tries to hard to get too fancy. Even the simple sauteed veggies with the prime rib were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the lamb shank which was again perfectly cooked and was so tender I could pull it apart with a wave of my fork. The sauce alongside the lamb complimented the meat and was not oversalted, which is easy to do with braised lamb shanks as I am very sensitive to saltiness. The pureed parsnips that came with the lamb were also a perfect companion and were supremely light, I think there was cream or some egg in them as they took on a slight bounce, which was very nice with the heavier lamb. The crispy parsnip shreds on top of the puree were also very fun to eat and tasted great. My mom really wanted to try the brussel sprouts which were just slightly tossed in a cream sauce and topped with croutons. They were a perfect way to round out an entirely enjoyable main course. We shared the chocolate souflee which was included in the prime rib meal. It was, like everything else, perfectly cooked without a scorched part in sight. The waiter even poked a hole in it to pour in a beautiful strawberry sauce. The sauce looked and tasted as if it was a freshly picked strawberry from the garden. it complimented the milk chocolatey goodness of the souflee in the most perfect way. We had the most enjoyable meal here and are definitely coming back. read more

I have given this place SO MANY chances. We stay here for the holidays every year and I will make it a point to never eat here when we stay here EVER again. Not only is the service absolutely atrocious but we have had 2 pretty significant ordeals the past two times we have eaten here. 2 examples.... Last year while we were eating dinner I found a hair in my salad... I wasn't super upset about it although I found it kinda gross. Then the main course comes and my sister found a piece of metal in her burger (it looked almost like a piece from what they must use to clean the grill). We alerted the waiter and they offered to make her a new one.... but at that point she was so grossed out she didn't even want to eat. They wouldn't even take the burger off of the tab because they say that they offered to make her a new meal and she wouldn't take them up on it. Fast forward to a year later. I decided to give them another shot and ordered the salmon. I was very excited because I have a severe dairy allergy and on the menu it said that it was "dairy free". I made sure to double check with one member of the staff (he wasn't our waiter) who assured me that there was no dairy on it. I get my salmon and it is quite obvious there is butter on it. After 5 minutes of not finding our waiter I finally flag him down and ask him what the sauce on the salmon is and ask if it has dairy.. he says it is "beurre blanc" and is dairy free and assured me it was safe to eat.... well "beurre blanc" means butter sauce so obviously he had no idea what he was talking about and I insisted he check with the chef before I potentially have an allergic reaction. He comes back and tells me that the sauce does indeed contain dairy.. I was so upset I spoke with the manager who claims they are going to speak with the chef and fix it. I also hope he will educate his staff that an allergy is not something to be taken so lightly. My issue here is that say a small child or someone with a potentially life threatening dairy allergy orders this because on the menu it is deemed "dairy free" and they don't notice that it has butter on it? This is a MAJOR unforgivable mistake. Not only was the menu wrong but TWO members of their staff assured me that it was safe to eat. I will NEVER come back here and I made sure to advise the other 28 members of our family who stay here every year (many of whom have allergies) to do the same. read more

Our reservations were for 11:30, we arrived at 11:25 and were told that they could seat us in 20-25 minutes on the patio (we requested that) or 15 minutes for inside. We said ok, first available. As we waited we noticed another party arrived and were told the same thing, however, within a few minutes they were seated. I asked the hostess about it since we asked for first available, after scrambling, they seated us inside. I was a bit taken back by the number of empty tables both inside and out (I expected a full house, since were were told that we would have to wait). No one in our party opted for the brunch but chose to order from the menu. Our waiter was great. He was very attentive . The food was good but not great. I ordered the Frittata, however, it was more like whipped egg whites topped with a 2 inch asparagas, 1 artichoke bit, a bit of goat cheese and tomatoes. Definitely weak-not savory at all. The best part was the waiter overhead us wishing my husband a happy birthday and at the end of the meal he brought a dessert with a candle and had the jazz band play happy birthday. Having been coming to this hotel since I was a young kid and being an 1865 member I am reluctant to say that my experience was below average. The service is mediocre. We had to wait quite awhile longer than the hostess stated the wait to be and people without a reservation were seated before us. I'm almost positive she forgot we were still waiting. After being sat down there seemed to be some confusion as to who our server was and when we were ready to order we hadn't even gotten our drinks or anything. We ate off the menu for brunch instead of eating at the buffet and most in my party ordered the continental (platter) breakfast. Let me just say that, although the description on the menu makes it appear to be a gigantic spread of food it is in fact quite average size and very overpriced for the quality of food you actually get. I would recommend ordering just what you want individually instead. I ordered the blueberry banana pancakes which may be the only saving grace from this review dropping below 3 stars. It was quite good and it came with lots of nice toppings and warm syrup as well as vanilla bean whip cream and a berry assortment syrup. Very good! Lastly, the latte and espresso I had was just okay, not great. I hope that my experience will be better during my next stay. Still a great hotel! read more

I celebrated my birthday at The Terrace a few years ago and haven't had the opportunity to come back, even though we had a great time. I decided to take my mom and aunt for lunch at The Terrace this past Saturday since we haven't been in awhile. What a difference a few years have made. The menu selection was rather small in my opinion from what I remembered it being the last time I was there. This was all fine and the food was decent (I wasn't raving about it nor was I disgusted). I had the salmon which was cooked well and tasted fine. The reason I've given two stars is really for the service. When we arrived, the place wasn't packed, perhaps 4 tables inside and maybe 8-10 tables outside. We were seated and then waited 15 - 20 min before we even received water. The lady who poured our waters informed us that our server would be right with us. There was NO ONE in our area of the restaurant, other customers or staff. Another 15 min later, we finally saw the same lady who poured our waters and hailed her down to ask whether or not our server would be coming. She was nice and apologized, but at this point, we were all really hungry. Our server did come, but didn't apologize or have any greeting, he just took our orders. The service throughout the meal was rather slow and not timed well. Our entrees came before we finished with our soups and so we had to scoot our soups to the side to make room for the plates. The soup bowls were then never taken away until the end when he brought the check. No refills on coffee either until we asked for more. Our server was really nice which was one positive. For an establishment as fancy and highbrow as The Langham, I expected better, especially since three soups, a salmon entree, two sandwiches and three coffees came out to $120. Before being served we waiting in the waiting area for about 5 minutes which wouldn't have been a problem if the couch we were about to sit on didn't have blood stains on it...but I let the hostess know before we were seated. However, I did check where we were seated to see if anyone left any bodily fluids behind. It was fine but the seats were horribly filthy. Nevertheless, I still sat down and perused through the menu. As I was looking, I happened to noticed that there was (what looked like to be) food caked on my cutlery and my niece noticed the same thing on hers and harsh water stains from the dishwasher. Hard water stains I could care less about, but food...food...other people's food on my place settings...we still are there but ordered the shrimp and terrace burgers. The food was fine but I'm not sure if I'll go back...if the restaurant is like this I can't imagine what the rooms would be like. For the Langham to be so expensive and posh you wouldn't expect to be served dirty dishes or to sit on filthy blood stained couches. And to top it off service was super slow :/ read more

A group of friends and I went to The Terrance for Brunch Sunday and had a great time. There was pleasant live music playing, noise level was minimal, and bright! Everyone in the party had the Buffet expect me. Although the buffet looked awesome (fresh fruit, cheese, eggs, bacon, pastries, etc) The Short rib and hash caught my eye. It was two over easy eggs on top of amazing pulled short ribs and flavorful hash. I would head back just for this dish. The orange juice was fresh, Mimosas were perfect, and the service was quick. It is pricy, but a great place for a special occasion. read more

It was just okay. Nothing bad to say really, but nothing good either. Beautiful hotel! I am not sure if its worth $58 per person! I wish I just ordered off the menu. Wasn't a whole lot to choose from, especially me being gluten free (not by choice). However, the general manager of the restaurant did make arrangements with the chef to try to accommodate my diet. They made me a salad without cous cous, which was ok, and brought out a creme brulee, that was good. They are definitely not cheap with the champagne. Free flowing by the servers, asst servers and they even have a help yourself station. But as far as the food, eh. If it was nicer outside, instead of muggy and sticky, I would have loved to sit out there, def too loud inside. read more

Seriously?!? I am so disappointed and blown away by my OVERPRICED and less then MEDIOCRE brunch experience, that want to make sure others don't get to make that same mistake. I can see a Langham guest stopping by for a quick breakfast here, but one should not go to Terrace if they're simply looking for a good spot in Pasadena. In a nutshell, my Asian Florentine was a total joke. Others in my party didn't seem to be too flattered with their meals either. The service was not satisfactory either--on couple of occasions I thought the waiter was going to spill the hot coffee on us, he seemed so careless and in hurry. Well, at least I now know not ever go there or recommend it to others. read more

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, the service is quick and attentive, the food is blah. Everything I have tried tasted like pre - packaged frozen breakfast food thrown into microwave. Not worth the price. I had beef short rib hash ($20) which was ok, nothing spectacular. I have tried chicken and waffle sandwich ($17) which tasted like EggoWaffles with dry piece of fried chicken. One of us opted for brunch buffet ($30). The only decent thing they had was an omelette station. But then again - what omelette is worth $30?Def not this one. In addition to omelette station they had pastries (reminded me of continental breakfast in Hampton Inn or one of those hotels), fruits, bagels and lox, blintzes. That's it. If you come for a quantity not for quality food, then you might like it. I had higher expectation for food than just average diner breakfast. read more

Saturday afternoon for lunch with a party of 15. Cold food (salads, sandwiches) served warm, soggy and wilted, hot foods (hamburgers, chicken, and hot sandwiches) served cold. I went here during the Dine LA week. The ambiance is nice, and it's good to know that they validate valet parking for restaurant patrons. (Otherwise it's $12 to park on-site or you have to find street parking, which is limited). Service was good, but the food was only so-so. The tomato bisque and Asian-style halibut were just okay, not particularly exciting. But their chocolate bread pudding with pumpkin mousse was excellent and their french bread was absolutely delicious. read more

What happened to this place? The Terrace (along with the rest of the hotel) used to be so great when it was under Ritz-Carlton Management. Since the Langham took over, everything has gotten progressively worse. The food here is SO BAD. The last time I was there, they had changed the entire menu and nothing sounded appetizing. Combined with my food allergies, their options were very limited. I settled on the Mahi prepared in a yellow curry sauce. I don't know what the chef was thinking, but the flavors mixed terribly. On top of that, it was clear no one knew how to prepare the dish as the fish was so dry that I was hardly able to swallow it. McDonald's quality food served with gourmet price tags. I went there for the breakfast buffet today and it is great for the price! As you know 5 star hotel like this always charge around $18 a plate for breakfast ( roughly). A breakfast that includes egg, some meat, toast, coffee and juice is $25. The breakfast buffet is only $30 and it includes a omelette station, smoke salmon, variety of cheese, fruits, cold meats, pastries, then this $30 is a lot powerful than anything else! However, later on it will turn into dim sum buffet where they added around 6 different kind of dim sum and some desserts. Well, I have to say those dim sum are poorly presented. I was really disappointed. The hotel charges you $48 for dim sum buffet and I definitely won't go for it. I will recommend the breakfast buffet for sure but not the dim sum buffet. What a bummer. I am hoping the hotel can do some improvement on the dim sum buffet. I really love the hotel and like to see more people go there to enjoy the place.... read more

Went on Saturday 7/18 lunch for a birthday event. There were five people at our table and each ordered off the fixed price $20 menu. Both the service and the menu portions need to be improved. Will not return. I only went because of the birthday person wanted to eat there. Comments: 1) Were were seated indoors since the outdoor section was full. There were three tables occupied. However the attention was given to tables outdoors by the staff. Our table ordered coffee, iced tea, and water (wine) and after we placed order it was over 15-20 minutes to receive the salad. In the interim NOT once anyone came to check if any of us wanted refills. Since it was a very humid and slightly rainy day I wanted more water . NO ONE was available to flag down since NO one came indoors until the salad course. The server got orders wrong and did not assist is switching salads to the correct person.. The won-tons from salad were spilled on the table during the salad switch. 2) Another 20 minutes for the main coarse. Myduck salad looked like an appetizer and two small pieces of cut duck was on top of a bed of small noodles. I thought the duck was a lettuce based salad and had asked the server how the duck came came he said the portion was ample. Again NO once asked if any refills of coffee, iced tea or water was needed. I had to say to him i was thirsty and wanted more water. (The refills in a restaurant should be not done by the server but the other staff) I saw another table go to another table to get cutlery for for their bread after they served them their wine. Any good server should notice if the table is set up properly. 3) The size portion of the french fries for the club sandwidh was not a single size but more like a two-person size The metal basket had too many fries .. what a waste of food. Every one did not finish their fries when the waiter came for desert orders. Rather had the chef properly size the duck salad and cut down on the excess french fries. 4) Desert was good. however, when the server cleaned off of the table of the plates,, bread basket and food they left large pieces of bread and crumbs on the table and a good restaurant will have the staff clean up the table. Overall the restaurant at a NICE upscale hotel in Pasadena needs some coaching of the staff. Lots of staff but need to be schools to make sure the dining experience was enjoyable. read more

The Terrance used to be a great place when the hotel was run by the Ritz Carlton. We recently went for a Birthday. I had the Rib eye steak. It was overcooked and dry. It was tough unlike the choice meats they served in the past. The service was lackluster and there was no enthusiasm. I wish they hire the ritz crew again. The prices are high as you would expect for a hotel, but i used to not mind paying them for quality. That is not the case anymore. read more

I called the day prior to make a reservation for Christmas morning since my daughter wanted to go someplace nice for pancakes on Christmas morning. They told me they had a brunch later that morning but we could order off the full menu prior to 9:30; I confirmed on the call that pancakes were on the menu. So we got up early and went there for a 9:00 am reservation. They had us wait for nearly a half hour for a table (the table was empty when we arrived but it took 20 minutes for them place utensils on the table) because we didn't want to eat outside (it was in the 50s) and then no one came to the table and we never received menus. I went to the host and was given a menu that had only one breakfast item (eggs -- I am allergic to eggs). When I asked about other items they explained that they were preparing for a brunch. I explained the situation and another manager arrived and I explained the situation a third time and was told that they were short staffed. We got ready to leave and they finally said that if we ordered something that was "easy to make" then they would make it for us -- we stayed only because we were embarrassed (their attitude was clearly that we were somehow imposing on them). We ordered pancakes, a waffle and an egg sandwich (the quality was below what I would expect at Denny's). After a total of an hour, we received our items which cost nearly $100. Expensive, but consistently good quality food, served in a calming environment. Dinner on the patio is romantic and breakfast/lunch on the patio just feels like you are on vacation here... even if you are dropping in for a meal and not staying at the hotel. I have frequented The Terrace at least 10 times in the past year and always delighted with what I order. I feel that I should be able to order anything on the menu and be confident that it will taste great. This restaurant fits my expectations and sometimes exceeds them. I wish the price was a little lower, but they do want the hotel to feel more ritzy and I suppose it does cost money to always provide high quality food, so perhaps the price is justified. I will definitely return and recommend others try this restaurant out too. Little recommendation... when ordering, plan on leaving room for the chocolate souffle and remember to order it about 20 minutes before the end of your meal. ... I ordered dinner from the terrace for the past 2 nights in a row, in which my meals were messed up both nights. I was mad! I am here on business, and have been working very long days with very little time to myself in the evenings. I ended up walking out of the restaurant on night 2 of constant mishaps. Stephanie noticed my frustration, and stopped me on my way out as I was giving up trying to eat dinner for the second night in a row. She insisted on making it right, and would not give in. She made sure my meal was prepared with accuracy, and personally delivered it to my room. I cant thank her enough. You dont find this kind of compassion often out of a restaurant. She genuinely cares about the customer. Thank you so much Stephanie! Its hard enough being away from home, but you successfully made sure I got to eat a very good meal, and most of all, you succeeded in making sure your customers are happy. We (3 of us) had dinner at The Terrace restaurant on New Years Eve. I am writing to express our deep regret at spending our hard earned money here. The first course was extremely lack luster, the salad was one of the worst we have EVER had. We truly aren't even sure what it was but to say it was bitter is an understatement. None of us at more than a bite.The soup was very good. Two of us had the Sea Bass. It was cold and did NOT taste good! I had the Filet Mignon. Again, it was cold and the butter knife I was provided with had a very difficult time cutting the meat. I ate two small pieces and no more. Regarding the desert, the cake was almost tasteless, that would have been more welcomed compared to the chocolate mousse. Wow, again, we only had maybe two spoonfulls then asked that it be taken away. We went home and cooked something to eat since we were all still hungry. I cannot begin to express my very deep disappointment in our experience. We truly thought the evening was going to be magical, instead it turned out to be a nightmare. They seated us right next to the door that leads out by the pool. It was FREEZING that night and every time throughout the evening the door would open, we would shiver. Next year, we will stick to a place that we know will have good food. read more
