House burger and fries $15, it is reorder worthy
    Pat C.

The review is primarily for the lunch and dinner menu, more specifically the house burger and fries plate. Believe it or not it's likely one of the best burgers served diner style in this area of pasadena, although to be fair there are some legendary spots within 10 square miles of here - the buns were buttered and toasted, the rest of the stack was well executed: think, an elevated in n out double double but slightly larger, like a 1/3 pounder. The fries, also done well - notably twice fried with garlic salt and parsley, very good. Pretty much exceeded my expectations, great little spot to catch an excellent $15 lunch. 4 stars.

I came here a few times to study, grab a drink, and a snack. The fries were thick cut well-seasoned fries. They have a good selection of teas. They bring you a little basket for you to pick out your own tea. And the service has been excellent the last few times that i've been here. The people here are very friendly. This place is a great place for me to study however I would keep in mind that it can be a little loud. But overall, this is a very comfortable and friendly place. And they have happy hour from 2-5pm Mon-Fri.

I love the golf course and now love eating at the restaurant too. I ate here for the first time yesterday and was very impressed with the food. Apparently they have a new menu which had a wide range of items. We got the loaded tuna melt and grilled chicken sandwich. Both were delicious! The loaded tuna melt reminded me of a filet o fish for some reason except with pickled jalapeños which was a nice and unique change to a tuna melt. The chicken in the chicken sandwich was really juicy and not dry at all and the seasoning was really tasty. The ciabatta was perfectly grilled and all the ingredients in this sandwich went really well together. Service was a little slow outside but our server was great. Prices were more than reasonable. I'm going to eat here every time I play at this course now!

Great space available for the beautiful Decor.

Amazing experience, with high level quality service. They are professional, answer all questions and are always available. I enjoyed my time and really liked the teamwork and the time they room to listen to my requests. They are friendly, available and allowed me to make changes as needed. I strongly recommend them and can say that our party was a success because of their management and staff.

Ride up to the Rose Bowl to go eat at Brookside. The eating at Brookside was a crucial part of this journey.

I accidentally adopted a horse during the pandemic, and my horse lives at a barn in South Pasadena (Arroyo Seco Stables). I've wanted to ride up to the Rose Bowl and specifically get dinner and drinks at Brookside since forever. So last Sunday, we got a few friends together at the barn - 8 horses, 8 humans - and rode the 5 or so miles up to the Rose Bowl, where there is...horse parking. A corral I guess (did I mention, I'm kind of new to this horse thing?), that is right next to the golf club and the restaurant. We tie up the horses and walk over. So we get there all sweaty and dusty, carrying bridles and some random apples for the horses (and Tupperware for me, because I usually have leftovers and needed something that will fit into my saddlebag and not smoosh the food). I mean, I definitely was feeling a tiny bit self-conscious since most of their clientele were golfers.....and, uh, clean? And my boots definitely had dried mud and goodness knows what else caked onto it. But they very nice, set up a table right away and get us seated pretty quickly, outside on the patio. Legit one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. I have a weird pet peeve.... I don't like messy foods. No matter how good it tastes, burgers with the innards falling out and slopping all over your plate doesn't do it for me. But these burgers? They are easy to eat, and stay in one piece. The lettuce and pickles and onions fit nicely inside the perimeter of the bun, and the patty (I got it medium rare) is thick and juicy. So perfect. The side salad was fresh, and I stole some of my friend's fries, which were hot and crunchy and lovely. Also got an old-fashioned (because, hey, if I'm a bit out of it, my horse should know how to get home, right?). Every while or so, one of us would go and check on the horses (trying to be sneaky so they don't see us and start freaking out). I ended up not needing the Tupperware because I finished all of my food (for once). Another friend had some leftover quesadilla, so the Tupperware did come in handy after all. I usually comment on parking in my reviews....so, uh, there is horse parking. I think there is also parking for the golf club right next to the course and the restaurant. Bathrooms are multiple stalls, and decently clean.

One of best public golf course clubhouse restaurant in SoCAL. Always open with a great breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. Even has a happy hour. With 2 challenging golf courses ending at a full service bar, not much more to want, except a better golf swing. There is also an excellent covered patio dining area with a great view of the driving range and both golf courses. And the service is always great too.

Our appetizers took forever & everything came out together & all dishes were cold! Ambiance is very nice but service needs to improve!

We have an hour wait for our food while the restaurant looks like this.

It tastes like bland bar food now. $19 for 2 meatballs laying in tomato paste....and they were not even room temperature. Felt like they had these already prepared and sitting somewhere, just waiting for the next guest to order them. Got a mojito that may have been mistaken for a "virgin" drink....cause no one at our table could taste any alcohol in it. They all said it was watered down mint with ice. Seating options include the main dining room, at the bar or in the bar-half of the interior, or at a table on their spacious outdoor patio, which has plenty of covering, umbrellas, and heat lamps for colder weather. You can make a reservation on OpenTable. We sat in the main dining room. The interior has a cozy feel and good vibe, with music playing in the background at a medium level. We happened to visit on Sunday which is Greek Night. In addition to the main food and drink menu, there is an additional food and cocktail menu with Greek inspired items. We decided to share the Kleo-tini (gin, basil, Kleos mastiha, olive bitters, $14) with a Greek spirit you will probably rarely see. It was a healthy pour in what seemed like a slightly oversized martini glass. It was very good, and definitely had a unique botanical/herbal flavor unlike any I've tasted before. We started out with the zucchini chips ($16) from the Greek menu. They were thin-cut, had a light breading brading on them, with a sprinkle of I believe oregano on top. It was a good portion, and we enjoyed the zatziki sauce for dipping. For my entrée, I had the lemon herb grilled chicken (marinated organic Mary's chicken, julienne vegetables, roasted potatoes, lemon beurre blanc, $30). It was a surprisingly large piece of chicken with a nice crisp on the skin, and was smothered in that great lemon butter sauce. The chicken was nice and moist. The veggies were good, and I only had a few of the potatoes because I was stuffed. She had the grilled Scottish salmon (wild caught salmon, dill mustard buerre blanc, sautéed spinach, whipped potatoes, $36). It came with a good sized piece of fish with lots of butter sauce on top. The spinach and potatoes were also good, and she enjoyed the entrée. Our server Carolyn was friendly and provided good service. We enjoyed everything here, and the menu has a wide variety of items. They have even more offerings on Greek Sunday. We would definitely return when in the area.

They checked on us several times during our meal to make sure everything was okay. We ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and the Short Rib Hash along with their coffee. The food came out very quick... It seems the food was prepared in advance and just plated when ordered. The Crab Cake Benedict looked very good. The presentation was flawless. We dug into the poached egg on top of the crab cake. The yolk didn't run as much as we thought and hoped. However, it was good. The Crab Cake was barely warm and didn't have a crispy outside. It really didn't have much flavor at all either. It was quite disappointing. The sauce they used was quite bland and the English muffin that held the crab cakes and the poached egg on top was very chewy and didn't feel freshly toasted. I had expected so much more from this place. We asked for potatoes to be well done and crispy. They did cook it very well but it wasn't crispy at all and it was very salty. I guess the crop cake Benedict and the potatoes kind of balanced each other out, but that shouldn't be the way a dish is prepared. Both items should be tasty in itself. The short rib hash was presented quite well. The poached egg was a bit overdone as well. The short rib meats actually felt like they were actually lean meats on briskets. Flavor was good and the meat was tender. But I expected short ribs and got briskets. The sauce was good with the briskets. The potatoes... I actually expected hash browns but it was breakfast potatoes which was mixed into the sauce and was soggy. Potatoes were very salty and made the sauce salty as well. Overall, this dish was too salty for my taste. It looks like salt is the chef's favorite seasoning and they are very generous with it. We didn't make any comments about the food being too salty as we didn't want the food to go to waste. The bar staff did a good job refilling our coffee and checking to make sure our food was good. I probably won't come back because the food appears to be too salty overall for my taste. The atmosphere seems nice and they had many reserved large parties that were getting together for the Sunday brunch. Once again, make sure you make reservations!
