My family and I attended the Mothers day brunch at the Brookside golf course in Pasadena. We we very dissatisfied. We were promised a photographer and entertainment. The food was ok but not worth $75.00 a person. I will never attend this brunch again. read more

Dont get me wrong I love Brookside Golf CLub Restaurant but some of these servers have got to go. My children take me here when they want to cheer me up or make me go to my special spot. We went for happy hour, our first time, and we had a terrible server. We sat outside because it is an amazing view outside. We finished one drink and no server. Waited and waited til i had to walk in and then he rushes to me before I can reach the bar. Then we wait again and again for the check. My daughter this time goes in and again he runs to us from across the room inside. I will definately sit where that waiter is not next time I go there. read more

This review is for Mothers Day Brunch ONLY. The brunch was nice and it wasnt over crowded. The price point was wayyyy to high to not include endless mimosas or something because there was nothing spectacular at the brunch ($75 each). Also the promised photographer did not show up. The music in the brunch room sounded like cheezy elevator music. My suggestion - include mimosas for those that want them, get an accoustic guitar live entertainer or play better music for next time read more

The review is primarily for the lunch and dinner menu, more specifically the house burger and fries plate. Believe it or not it's likely one of the best burgers served diner style in this area of pasadena, although to be fair there are some legendary spots within 10 square miles of here - the buns were buttered and toasted, the rest of the stack was well executed: think, an elevated in n out double double but slightly larger, like a 1/3 pounder. The fries, also done well - notably twice fried with garlic salt and parsley, very good. Pretty much exceeded my expectations, great little spot to catch an excellent $15 lunch. 4 stars. read more

My friend and I stopped in here for a drink before and after hitting a few balls on the driving range. This place emits a cozy cabin vibe with the rustic wood ceiling and big stone fireplace smack dab in the center. There are two tv's at the bar. One was showing college football and the other golf. My daughter had a tournament there recently and we decided to stay and eat at their restaurant. We didn't know what to expect, we sat in and had the amazing views of the golf course and the hills of Pasadena. We ordered margaritas, beef nachos and some garlic fries. The margaritas were actually really good and refreshing. The nachos were good, the chips were good. The fries were also good. I would go back and try the rest of their menu. read more

I came here a few times to study, grab a drink, and a snack. The fries were thick cut well-seasoned fries. They have a good selection of teas. They bring you a little basket for you to pick out your own tea. And the service has been excellent the last few times that i've been here. The people here are very friendly. This place is a great place for me to study however I would keep in mind that it can be a little loud. But overall, this is a very comfortable and friendly place. And they have happy hour from 2-5pm Mon-Fri. read more

I love the golf course and now love eating at the restaurant too. I ate here for the first time yesterday and was very impressed with the food. Apparently they have a new menu which had a wide range of items. We got the loaded tuna melt and grilled chicken sandwich. Both were delicious! The loaded tuna melt reminded me of a filet o fish for some reason except with pickled jalapeños which was a nice and unique change to a tuna melt. The chicken in the chicken sandwich was really juicy and not dry at all and the seasoning was really tasty. The ciabatta was perfectly grilled and all the ingredients in this sandwich went really well together. Service was a little slow outside but our server was great. Prices were more than reasonable. I'm going to eat here every time I play at this course now! read more

Amazing experience, with high level quality service. They are professional, answer all questions and are always available. I enjoyed my time and really liked the teamwork and the time they room to listen to my requests. They are friendly, available and allowed me to make changes as needed. I accidentally adopted a horse during the pandemic, and my horse lives at a barn in South Pasadena (Arroyo Seco Stables). I've wanted to ride up to the Rose Bowl and specifically get dinner and drinks at Brookside since forever. So last Sunday, we got a few friends together at the barn - 8 horses, 8 humans - and rode the 5 or so miles up to the Rose Bowl, where there is...horse parking. A corral I guess (did I mention, I'm kind of new to this horse thing?), that is right next to the golf club and the restaurant. We tie up the horses and walk over. So we get there all sweaty and dusty, carrying bridles and some random apples for the horses (and Tupperware for me, because I usually have leftovers and needed something that will fit into my saddlebag and not smoosh the food). I mean, I definitely was feeling a tiny bit self-conscious since most of their clientele were golfers.....and, uh, clean? And my boots definitely had dried mud and goodness knows what else caked onto it. But they very nice, set up a table right away and get us seated pretty quickly, outside on the patio. Legit one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. I have a weird pet peeve.... I don't like messy foods. No matter how good it tastes, burgers with the innards falling out and slopping all over your plate doesn't do it for me. But these burgers? They are easy to eat, and stay in one piece. The lettuce and pickles and onions fit nicely inside the perimeter of the bun, and the patty (I got it medium rare) is thick and juicy. So perfect. The side salad was fresh, and I stole some of my friend's fries, which were hot and crunchy and lovely. Also got an old-fashioned (because, hey, if I'm a bit out of it, my horse should know how to get home, right?). Every while or so, one of us would go and check on the horses (trying to be sneaky so they don't see us and start freaking out). I ended up not needing the Tupperware because I finished all of my food (for once). Another friend had some leftover quesadilla, so the Tupperware did come in handy after all. I usually comment on parking in my reviews....so, uh, there is horse parking. I think there is also parking for the golf club right next to the course and the restaurant. Bathrooms are multiple stalls, and decently clean. read more

For years I mean like twenty! We walked past this place, thinking it was for golfers or some kind of snooty, members only type of establishment. I'm not sure why we ventured inside but we are so glad we did. We have been walking the Rose Bowl loop for years and found ourselves elsewhere for brunch either before or after. We do prefer a breakfast or brunch menu and this turned out to be THE PLACE! The photos on their page don't lie and the prices are beyond reasonable. Service could not be friendlier and the coffee is consistently great! Athena, our favorite server always makes certain we are happy! In fact all of the staff are to be commended. With 2 challenging golf courses ending at a full service bar, not much more to want, except a better golf swing. Absolute terrible attitude with staff. No courtesy for time. Extra rude if you have a group larger than 2 with you. Food is mediocre. I assume kitchen staff is low, undertrained or lack resources. The whole staff team together is unable to fulfill the needs of the number of seats they have here at the restaurant. Super super disappointed the last 6 times I ate here due to meetings in the building. Now I would rather eat cold food I bring than deal with this restaurant for food. Stop treating your paying customers like second class citizens. read more

We made a reservation for 16 people here, and it was a GREAT place to have a medium-sized group event. They had lovely little flowers on little vases on the table for us, and they managed the flow of drinks and food really well with only one server, who was wonderful - I think her name was Rebecca. Everyone agreed we will have our annual lunch here from now on. The food prices are in reach of our group , and the food is good. It works well for our group. read more

Pre-pandemic, I'd attended and hosted events at Brookside's restaurant, including a wonderful dinner and whisky tasting fundraiser for our local schools. The staff was very easy to work with leading up to the event. We selected items that complemented the whisky and remained within my price point. When we arrived that evening, there were clear signs directing us to our private dining area. And at the event, check-in was a breeze. Service is excellent. Staff is attentive and did a great job anticipating what we were ready for time-wise. We had everything we needed, when we needed it. Food was good across the board. Items were delivered with the cold items actually cold, and warm items still warm. I would both attend and coordinate events here in the future. read more

Food was good, prieces are reasonable, atmosphere is relaxed. Service is mostly fine except last time one order was very, very late. A plus...they took the meal off the menu. SO LAME! Oh my gosh - where to start? Seated on the patio at 11:30 am on a Saturday. The breakfast rush over and transitioning to lunch. The table had a signed check so obviously had not been cleaned after the previous customers and had no table settings or condiments holders. The guy who seated us gave us menus then walked away. We sat there for about 15 min before anyone talked to us. Meanwhile other patrons are coming in and ordering. Finally, the manager type guy asks if we want drinks. We order iced tea, coffee, and water. They deliver that and walk away. 25 minutes after arriving we are finally asked for our order by ANDREW. Food comes out about 10 min later but we have to wait for silverware/napkins. Food is OK. Nothing special. Meanwhile, our drinks are dry. We finish eating and literally no one comes to ask us how we are doing or refill our drinks. An hour after arriving we are sitting here staring at each other!!!!! SERIOUSLY???!!! Horrible, worse than poor service, feeling personally offended at this point! There is no reason on earth why anyone would subject themselves to such a horrible experience. This is such a good spot to come and grab a bite before or after our tee time. The food is overall quite good for a club restaurant. The service is excellent! Our server was so attentive. The birds are quite aggressive though. Favorite thing on the menu so far is the Bulgogi Beef Cheesesteak Sandwich. The garlic fries are also so good. We walked 20 minutes in the heat to get here, only for there to be zero signage about where to sit or what to do. We waited awkwardly for 5 mins before someone asked what we wanted to order. I said "how does it work, do I order here?" And the guy behind the counter said "yes". We were confused cos we were expecting a sit down restaurant... So we ordered and paid at the counter, then tried to sit down. Then they said "what are you doing sitting, you ordered at the to-go window". What??? So we said we wanted to sit and they let us, but said we had to wait for the to-go things first. This would all be solved with A SIGN. When will restaurants learn that you need a sign to tell people what to do? Simply put up a sign that says "please wait to be seated" or whatever you like. And why did they tell me to order at the bar when I asked what to do? Terrible service, will not be returning. read more

Public golf course food can be hit and miss but this food was pretty good considering. We had the boneless wings, fries, and the chicken bowl salad. It hit the spot. The service was friendly and the people watching was great. You're positioned right in front of the putting green and driving range which is a lovely way to spend the afternoon. read more

The closest to home and I keep forgetting how nice it is! Spacious high ceilings with large windows overlooking the golf course. Good salads, sandwiches and drinks. Moderate prices. Very kind servers. My classic Cobb with shrimp was nicely done and tasty. We spent an unhurried hour+ watching the golfers practice, talking and eating. There is also a large outside patio. Parking on the street can be a problem but usually find one close by. Many of the customers are "regulars" and are golfers and lends a friendly clubby vibe. All seem very welcome. read more

Regarding the Catering staff: stellar! So professional and easy to work with. We had a buffet lunch and dinner for 80. Each event was great thanks to the teams...outstanding bartender, the attractive young lady who spearheaded Dinner was kind, gracious and efficient. Her staff of waiters were both polite and smart. They went beyond duty to assist us with hanging banner and retrieve golf balls from vases. Impressed, when the head person completed his event, he checked in with us. Very professional. And, Randi was terrific! Disliked that 2 doz people came into our function room to "practice" for their event the following day. Golf course set up team was a huge disappointment ...so many errors. The Sushi bar in restaurant was great, and our breakfast, both days, were superb. read more

Went to a wedding here on Saturday. The wedding ceremony was held on the patio, which had gorgeous views. The reception was held in the Mediterranean Ballroom which was rather drab and in need of a facelift. The bread and salad were delicious. The main dish served was beef and rice, which was bland and dry. We had them bring Tabasco and Sriracha to make it more palatable. The servers did a nice job and were customer focused. read more

We come here for breakfast and have not been due to Covid. Now that they have re-opened we went back excited to have a meal out again. We just finished a long walk along the LA River Trail and decided to stop by for lunch. Ordered the Chop salad and Fish and Chips. The salad was ok, nothing to write home about. My main course arrived, 4 small dried fingers of fish. I am a stickler for this food and was so looking forward to lunch. It was dry (the dusting or batter had come off perhaps as the oil temperature wasn't right) leaving the fish dry. It was served with some fries. Bless her heart, our server, Vanessa did notice the look on my face as the meal arrived (it look more like a starter portion at $18.). To her credit, the bill was reduced by $8. We'll return here for breakfast but pass on the lunch menu. FYI, the place has great views and so close to the Rose Bowl. If you play golf, then you're welcome to spectate a bit at the players while having a meal. read more

This place is a pleasant surprise. First, it is totally old school (in a good way) with booths and some counter seating. It feels like a country club from the 80s. Next, it looks right out on the rolling green hills of the golf course. The service is also friendly and understated and they have good breakfast items. Tip: after you walk around the Rose Bowl, come in to cool down and refuel. I like the avocado toast. Unlike the setting, the toast is not from the 80s. The sourdough is thick and charred over a grill, the corn is fresh and also grilled and it decorates the thick, mashed avocado. Plus, it comes topped with two eggs and cojita cheese. All for around $11 bucks. They also have what looks to be a compelling (cheap) happy hour. I will be back to check it out. read more

Service was awful in the brookside golf club restaurant. Today I went to get brunch with my family and had to wait about 30mins to find out that hostess, Amanda L, never put us on the wait list until I asked the status of the wait. She said that we didn't give our name to put us on the waitlist, but she recognized my face. Obviously she could've just put us on the waitlist without the name or asked us for our name, but she decided not to. So we waited about and hour and 30 mins for bad food and bad service. Avoid if you can. Just go somewhere else. read more
