My wife loved her tender filet mignon, I ate her broccoli too. She said her meat didn't even have to have the sauce. It was good on its own. Kids loved their chicken tenders and fries. My son ate his entire plate. They said 5/5 3 decent size pieces of tender on top of a plate of crunchy fried fries and both kids approved. We also ordered the French onion soup, 4.5/5 so much cheese that stretched! Plenty of onions and a layer of bread. Bottom layer of soup , very legit, was not over salted. It was good and the cheese charcuterie board. 4/5, OMG I loved the honey on its comb, so good. I would come back, this place is grand, lots of land, lovely scenery, just very huge place. Potatoes were delicious. Salmon was fresh but bagel was lacking.The avocado toast had a "different" taste combination that made it bitter tasting. French toast was bland and hard. Oatmeal was good. Eggs Benedict was balanced and tasty. Pancakes were flat with no flavor. Bacon was nice and crispy. If you order sourdough bread, they will bring you white bread. It happened every time. Service- with the exception of two servers, the rest were NOT attentive. Slow and never came back to offer refills of the water or coffee. Ambiance- beautiful poolside restaurant Overall, the food and service were alright and did not meet the expectations of a luxury resort. Came here for an alumni breakfast so we had the private dining room booked. It fit 20 people. The drip coffee was decent. All the breakfast items cost about $25. I got an egg white omelette which came with 3 toppings and a side of breakfast potatoes and grilled tomato. I also asked for a side of chicken sausage because there was no protein but the server forgot it which annoyed me. The omelette was well cooked and cheesy. You can choose between a buffet or à la carte options. They offer a great variety, including a live egg station where you can have eggs prepared to your liking. I chose the Eggs Benedict with spinach and mushrooms, and it was delicious! Soft drinks like coffee, tea, and juice are included with the brunch buffet, but anything else, such as cappuccinos, lattes, or alcohol, comes at an extra cost. The service was friendly, and I loved the ambiance. Since it was around Christmas time, the entire atmosphere was festive and lovely. Lovely and peaceful outdoor dining by pool side. We had two salads and added grilled chicken and salmon. Both salads were delicious, great flavor combinations. We also had a couple spicy margaritas. Service was really great at the beginning, but our server disappeared about half way through. We had to leave for our spa appointments, so we were left hanging a little bit. We were at the Huntington Hotel on our honeymoon. The restaurant was not very full but it took almost two hours to get our main course. We waited 45 minutes for our appetizers to show up which was the soup of the day and raw oysters. I know it doesn't take 45 minutes to heat up a soup but we tried to be patient. Then we sat and sat. We could never find our waiter. We tried to get the eye of other waiters and they never came to our section. Finally our waiter showed up and asked if we had gotten our food. We said no. He disappeared again for 15 minutes and then told us that the kitchen had lost our order. Finally we got our food but were so hungry and in such a bad mood that we couldn't enjoy the food. They started to serve lunch at 11am but guests still had breakfast / brunch buffet option. We chose the latter cause the lunch menu was so limited. The brunch buffet choices were not bad. Omelette and eggs benedict station was nice. Good amount of breakfast bakeries but no gluten free options at all. Salad and fruit station was my favorite. The food selections were decent but the flavors were lacking. I had to put salsa sauce on the flavorless foods to make them taste better. But we really wasn't expecting much for only $39 pp including soft drinks. It was a very relaxing breakfast / brunch and the service was great. Definitely up to a luxury hotel standards. We enjoyed high tea here on a Saturday afternoon and it was really lovely from start to finish. They offered vegan, gluten-free, and regular options, and everything we tried was delicious. The tea selection was great and the atmosphere was elegant, beautiful, and perfect for a special afternoon. The service was attentive and very friendly, making the whole experience even better. It is definitely a bit of a splurge, but worth it if you are looking for a memorable high tea experience in Pasadena. The Langham Hotel itself is stunning, with historic grounds, a beautiful outdoor courtyard and pool, and even a speakeasy-style bar right next to the Terrace restaurant where high tea is served. I've been going to the spa on this property since it was the Ritz Carlton, which had a five diamond rating. After Langham purchased the property, everything has been going downhill fast and its current four diamond rating is overly generous as it is like any standard business hotel, but charging luxury prices. Save your money as it is not worth it. The standalone spa is still a good experience as nothing has changed since Langham took over except the name. The Terrace for lunch is a travesty and a very poor reflection of Langham's aspirational brand for exceptional service and dining. We had reservations and were seated a little before 1pm. We had to flag down a server to say we were ready to order. After 40 minutes of sitting there with no food or anyone to check on us, I again flagged down someone to get our server to check on our food order. When our server finally showed up, I said we had spa appointments that we'll soon be late for. He asked if he could call the spa to postpone our appointments. Uh...no, I want to eat and have our spa appointments as planned. Server checked with the "chef" and said our order was next. When I saw the next burger that came out go to a large table of about 20 people who were seated after us, I was even more annoyed and asked about our food again. By the time our two burgers and salad came, we had only 30 minutes to snarf down our food before our spa appointments. The burgers were dry and the food is mediocre hotel quality, at best. I've been telling everyone who asked about my day and weekend how awful the Terrace at the Langham is. The "manager" who brought us our fries separately said "I'm sorry. It is unacceptable to wait more than an hour for your food." Ok, thank you for that insight. Nothing was adjusted on our bill or even to bring us some iced tea packed to go with us. This Terrace restaurant is a travesty and it is sad to see the decay of what was originally a five diamond property. A ghost of its former excellence. read more

Had the weekend breakfast brunch $39 per person. Be sure to include your Brilliant member number (free) for 5% off or more. The breakfast buffet options include egg station (with Benedict and omelette bar), a selection of hot savory items (apple sausage, applewood bacon, potatoes, quiche), sweet (fruits, waffles), baked goods (bagels, pastries, banana nut bread), a pasta and simple salad, yogurt and charcuterie. You also get choice of one juice and tea or coffee. Be sure to check on times. I've seen times listed as opening at 7a or 8a. I was warned by the hostess there could be a wait (even with reservations) but our Sunday brunch buffet we were seated quickly. It may depend on other events happening. Like some other reviewer mentioned the apple sausage was pretty dry, like too much binder material and needs more fat. The egg station was great. I didn't want too much to the chefs were able to accommodate my half portion of scrambled eggs and a "bread-less" Benedict. The fruits were tasty and fresh. The only chocolate baked item I saw was chocolate croissant. I did enjoy the banana nut bread and onion cheese bagel. Something the staff tried to explain but perhaps was inconsistent between servers. You only get one juice, but one server said they only had orange juice and another said they can give grapefruit juice instead. Perhaps some communication error. It's worth a meal if you're staying at the hotel or want to try something different poolside. Otherwise perhaps it's better (cheaper) to order off the menu. They have chilaquiles! read more

They really know how to give you that classy feeling.. like you're their special guest . Not bad but ... I don't know if I would've come here if not for our daily breakfast and meal credit. The menu isn't cheap, particularly the weekend buffet (more on that in a bit). The Terrace is the Langham Hotel's more casual breakfast, lunch, and dinner eatery, when you want something less formal than the steakhouse. Some of the options on the breakfast menu ARE worth it. The picture of my granola doesn't do the size justice. Picture two fists' worth of yogurt sitting on top of a thick, solid layer of toasted granola, drizzled with honey and topped with blueberries. It was possibly the best granola I've ever had. I ate most of it and the amount kept me full and satisfied well into the day. They also offer a market fruit plate for $18 and before you scream at the price for just some fruit, the plate is about the size of a trough. I saw a waiter carry it to a table with both hands. In addition to the heap of fruit (banana, kiwi, grapes, oranges, berries), the plate also has Greek yogurt and several slices of banana bread. If you're not particularly hungry in the morning like me, this is a great option to order for the table to share. That said: - $9 for a glass of grapefruit juice? No. Just no. - The weekend breakfast buffet is first-come, first-serve, but I recommend skipping it. First, the price tag is $40 per person, not worth it at all if you're only getting one or two plates of food. Second, the options were pretty skimpy. They had avocado toast, breakfast pastries, scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, bacon, and some fruits/berries but come on. If you're charging $40, at least include more protein, like smoked fish. Or even yogurt. It took a while to flag down our waiter for the check. Weekend brunch was super loud and we ended up escaping to the Club Lounge for a second round of breakfast. read more

After a day swimming at the Langham, we had dinner here because it was so conveniently located. A Beautiful setting overlooking the Lanai swimming pool. The Terrace's decor is classic and simple. They have patio seating and indoor seating. We sat inside because it was too hot outside. Service was also excellent. The food was delicious: Caesar salad, smash burger and rigatoni pasta, plus wine. The only problem was that the pasta was served cold. We specifically asked for the dishes to be brought out hot, so that was disappointing. We took it home and once it was reheated it was delicious. I know that The Terrace has not had a good reputation, but I don't know why. It's only 3 stars on yelp, the front page has several only one-star complaints. I will take about my experience there. Danny invited me and my daughter, Lara, to have lunch there, after we ignored about a dozen options. He picked us up and drove there, from my home to the west-south hidden inside a hotel where The Terrace is. It's inside a hotel, I was told the hotel has more than 100 years of history. We were seated, outside the room beside the swimming pool. There was not too crowded during the COVID season. There was a table of Chinese, who looked like two wealthy Chinese families, with their high school kids, none of the families had the full members of husband and wife. The environment was good with the sunshine, the restaurant was just reopened and still with the notice on yelp about a temporary time opening. Almost everyone around the swimming pool and sitting outside was not wearing a mask except at two tables, our table and the table next to us of the Chinese. The menu for the lunch was simple, Danny ordered a salad, Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad for $ 26, Lara had a Roasted Turkey Panini($26) and I had California Cobb($26). Compare with the food we got, the salad was a more expensive one. We share the food, all were standard, but no one was delicious. They were good, but not gourmet. Lara's panini was in a fashion shape, it was more like a hot sandwich. Mine was also good, but not that good to be remembered. The salad was normal, the romaine was fresh, and the turkey was as dry as any turkey, nothing special. The burger was small and the fries were good and crispy. I don't even have any idea to comment on it, the food was good and beyond average. The view was wonderful, the service was acceptable. We had a walk after the brunch, quite with disruption, the historical builds were recalling the memory. Where those memories came from? I am just a new first-generation immigrant here, why I'm feeling so familiar with the stuff here? Anyway, the food was good, even not the best level but those were good. Today my school's admin team came in to spend the day planning our school year. Sarah was our server and took phenomenal care of us throughout her shift. We had breakfast, snacks and lunch as we reflected, planned and calendared everything to prepare for another successful school year. We started off with coffee and a basket of pastries before ordering breakfast. My breakfast was simple, yet perfect. Two eggs, breakfast potatoes and bacon with a side of toast. She checked in often as we worked, refilling coffee and water and clearing the table. Before long, it was after 2:00 and we ordered lunch before continuing our work. We got the Shashuka and the eggs are perfectly cooked. Sauce doesn't have a distinguishing flavor but a mild dish. Eggs Benedict is a great portion. I would give 0 star if possible. This restaurant is really the worst. We stayed at the Langham and came in for breakfast. The host told us that the waiting time was 1 hour even though the restaurant was half empty. The host said she'd call us when table is ready but never did. We went back to check in again with her and she said "ohh you've waited for that long, I guess I'll sit you in right now" ?!?!? Food was extremely terrible, bland and no taste at all to the point that it was inedible. I would highly not recommend everybody to go and spend money here. read more

Food here is definitely very clean and fresh. They make great breads but the service here is kind of a miss. They try to be courteous but their system interface is pretty flawed. We made a reservation with front desk and they made a mistake with reserving the wrong date. Unfortunately we had to pay the price with a 30-40 minute wait. While I am not a person who generally eats at a hotel restaurant away to the fact that it's generally over priced, there are times I wish it not only make sense but one can receive a very good meal. The setting on the terrace overlooks the pool some of the rooms on the opposite side of the same pool and the hills in the background. The service was very good and there were enough variety on the menu to please most people. I had the shrimp cocktail which came with large butterflied shrimp, along with an excellent bowl of tortilla soup. I also had a bowl of fresh berries. All of these dishes were gluten-free. The pasta was not but provided two meals. Their shrimp was very fresh and the tortilla soup was excellent. I sat out on the patio so despite the high price, the meal and pleasant surroundings made this an excellent choice. read more

Beautiful hotel and grounds. The Tap Room is also a nice area of the hotel to pop into for a cocktail and a different view. We had an 11:15 reservation but they stop serving breakfast and brunch at Noon. Seems kinda early to me. So, we ordered from the lunch menu. I had the delicious French onion soup and a cob salad. My family had the salmon and the pasta. The salmon was a favorite. The pasta portion was huge. All of the desserts were a hit...ice cream sampler, crème brûlée and chocolate cake. The service was really helpful and attentive. The coffee was constantly being refilled, it was nice on a chilly day. With Terrace validation, valet was only $10 instead of $20. read more

The terrace is a great place to have brunch. Just don't allow April to help you with reservations. I had two events there in the last month. A bday party and a bridal shower in their private room. The birthday party was amazing . Staff were super helpful . We brought balloons , a cake and everything was great. Since we had such a good time and experience for the birthday party. I decided to host a bridal shower there as well. I requested the private room which had been offered to me for the first event . I made a reservation with the host who was super friendly and very helpful. Everything was set. 13 guests, private room, bring a cake , small flowers for the table. Everything was going great while I was communicating with the hosts who helped me with the previous bday reservation. Then after having my reservation on the books for over 2 weeks . I received a phone call from April , someone new , apparently she works for special events. I had never spoken to her in the past and she basically told me that . I had to pay extra for the private room, pay extra to bring and cut a cake , and that most likely I would not have the private room for my reservation. I explained to her it was my second event at the restaurant and I wasn't sure why she was calling me. Since I only had 13 guests coming. I wasn't having an event where a room needs to be rented. She finally told me that if no one else called to reserve the private room then I could have it but I had to wait and see . She ended up waiving the charge to cut the cake. She wanted to charge $5.50 per person to cut the cake. I was shocked since I had such a good experience with the hosts on my prior visit. Constance , is the hosts that helped me and made sure everything went well during my event. She was great! Basically - April had terrible customer service skills , calling me last minute and adding all these fees for big private events. I had 13 people. One table only. Constance the host and Mo , our server were great and they helped my event be pretty smooth. Great hotel , nice restaurant, just don't allow April to get involved. There are lots of other private rooms that yes, additional fees should be charged and April can be involved in those reservations But not for the terrace. read more

It's all pomp and circumstance at stately Langham Hotel's casual breakfast/lunch/dinner spot. Perfect date spot, especially if the date is with your Mom. First, you must valet. I was a bit hesitant to "street park" in this fancy neighborhood, so in I went, down the long driveway, and up to the portico where a dozen suited gents wait to open your car door. I mean, if you're going to valet anywhere, do it here! $20 BTW ($10 with restaurant validation). Plus the $5 tip tip to get the car back after lunch, and there you have it. The cost of a lunch just for the car. The restaurant is downstairs, so you get to travel a meandering path through this very beautiful hotel. It's poolside, but I don't like to eat outside, so I opted for window-side pool view. For lunch, the menu (cheeseburger, caesar salad, panini) is a bit ho-hum, but sometimes that's just what you need. Everything was delicious. The presentation is all Langham, which is nice.
