The whole process doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and it is always super loud inside during busier times. So loud it is difficult to hear the person you're eating with. Food and service were exceptionally bad today, especially the service. The food was heavy (classic eggs Benedict) with a hard and tough piece of ham, a thick hollandaise lacking flavors of lemon and butter. Sides of cheesy grits and hash brown casserole were ok. After my adult son and I were seated, the host asked if we'd like anything to drink while waiting on the server. My son answered that he'd like an orange juice, while I had to think about it due to an upset stomach. The host was very impatient, and said, "I'll just get you a water while you decide." I stopped him, and ordered a Coke Zero. I wasn't able to eat much food, and the server came back and reached for my plate ... with most of the food still on it! I stopped him, and he said "Are you still picking on it?" I said yes and that I would like a to-go box, which he came back with quickly. I was loading up the box when a new man showed up and reached for my plate saying "let me clear this off the table for you.". I had to assertively tell him to wait while I loaded, but he clearly wasn't interested in what I was doing. This is a lovely place to spend a morning morning having breakfast or brunch. But I will most remember this place for is the fresh donut that is dipped in a bowl of caramel. So yummy! This place came up on my suggested places to visit, and I was confused because I assumed I had already reviewed this place! Especially since I have come so many times over the past couple of years. This is my go to place in the area. My favorite things are the hash Brown casserole, and the vegetable omlette! They are awesome at allowing substitutions. They also have great waffles that my kids adore. I love the customer service and the booths and the bathrooms are always clean. It has easily become my favorite breakfast spot. I would post pictures that I've taken throughout these past months, But there's nothing that yall haven't already seen. I have eaten at the I-45 location many times and it's always good. But the 99/Spring Stuebner location is always lacking something. The pancakes aren't very good. They fall apart as if the inner layer is not coked all the way. They can't cook scrambled eggs and the hashbrown casserole is subpar compared to the I-45 location. Maybe the cooks at this location just aren't as good but in the 4 times I've been to the Spring location, I always leave regretting I didn't go somewhere else. read more

Honestly, Toasted Yolk is indeed a 5 for both food and service. I've never had a bad meal there, nor had anyone I've ever been with complained about their food. Their benedicts/Arnolds are all good, though I've never gone for the Southern Fried one. The pancakes are HUUUGE (like, Donald Trump YUUUGE!!) You've been warned. Shrimp n grits have always been good, and their grits overall are pretty good. Just toss in some butter and you're set! BUT I have never, ever been when it's not unbearably cold. Like, you need a hoodie even in August. It is a major detractor. For that reason alone, they lose a star. One other thing, I can't drink coffee. I love it, but it doesn't love me. So, I have to drink tea. They always have a ton of foofy herbal tea, but it seems like my server always has to go on a scavenger hunt to find some normal, black tea, eg, Earl Grey or English Breakfast. I was asking my bartender for an Irish coffee (yes... It's fine with breakfast... respect) and she was a bit hazey on what that was. Ok... she seemed hazy. I'll cut her some slack because she was super nice. So when I asked for a shot of Irish Whiskey for my coffee she looked puzzled. Lo and behold Josè walks up like some unsung hero and not only explained my request of drunken deliciousness, but then explains to me that they have another drink... a better drink... and more complex, robust bastion of joie de vi·vre! (You have to arch an eye brow when you say it) What was in it? Only an Irish magic wielded by Latin hands to elevate and enhance this African American's breakfast experience so he can go on filled and happy to view the wonders of James Camron. (...... nah... When a restaurant has an option to hold your place in line online and you receive a text stating to show up in 15-30 minutes, then in 30 minutes you arrive and are told another 15-20 minutes, what is the purpose?! If the hold your place in line on the website doesn't work then do not have it as an option!! Ordered a bottle of champagne for our table and requested a side of the watermelon juice and was told they couldn't do that because it is a "special." Our Monday brunch here with my boyfriend started off well. Service was decent and fast. Only trouble is my boyfriend ordered a strawberry orange mimosa but received an orange mimosa. The salmon on the Arnold was BOILING HOT. I took my first bite and could not believe the torture my mouth just got exposed to. For the first time in my life food made me CRY! I didn't want to spit into a napkin so I swallowed the pain down. I guess the flavor was ok based on what my remaining tastebuds could taste. My boyfriend and I felt so embarrassed about hating the food so much that we didn't say anything to the server who is just doing her job. We just wanted to pay our bill and leave as soon as possible.
