Honestly I was taken away by the dining style. Really comfortable and would rather enjoy my bite here than my own place (not that I don't care for my home).. but moreover to quality; in top-tier customer service and food being served here is absolutely it. I've had their wraps and it was pretty fulfilling, leaving me satisfied along with a chicken noodle soup at the time I was dealing with a cold. Boss man is always there and you will know who. Today I went to this amazing salad place. I ordered a fully loaded chicken salad. The service was pleasant. The food is made to order so everything is fresh. My girlfriend heard about this place so we decided to take a short drive and go. When we arrived the entire staff welcomed us and after a minute or so a staff member (possibly manager) greeted us and walked us through the menu. They have a lot of options and he was very knowledgeable about everything they served. The food was the true highlight--fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and beautifully presented. We grabbed a few samples of soups, which were honestly AMAZING! We sampled the Tortilla chicken, Chilli and the Clam Chowder. I expected 1 to be amazing but not all 3! We tried their Cobb Salad, loaded baked potato and the southwest beef and bean bowl, all of which were outstanding! Perfect blend of textures and seasonings in each entree. The menu offers a nice variety, catering to different tastes without being overwhelming. The Toss Up has quickly become one of my favorite spots. Ate here for the first time recently as I had a craving for a hearty salad. My sister recommended this place she had eaten here before and said it was really good. Well, I can truly say she was not lying! It very much so lived up to the hype. When we entered we were greeted by very friendly staff. I told them it was my first time there and the server explained the menu to me which had a lot of yummy items to choose from. I ordered the Texas Smokehouse Salad which was delicious! This salad had so much flavor and was completely loaded generous portion size. I was able to make two meals of it. I ate half for lunch and the other half for dinner and was completely full. They also let us sample their specialty drinks which were sooo good! It's located in a very busy shopping center with a bunch of other eateries so parking is not that great. The place is very clean with plenty of tables to eat if you choose to dine in. I will definitely be back to try some of the other delicious looking items on the menu. read more

Ordered a couple of salads and a bowl for lunch today that cost me over $90.00. Gave everyone their food to find that my salad was the only one without dressing. LOST My appetite after that. What my salad did come with was the skin of a skinny sliver of avocado which wasn't like the way they show on the menu with several slices. We ordered two soups at $7 each and were really disappointed by the portion sizes. For $14, we expected significantly more than what was served. The price just doesn't match what you get. Hopefully they reconsider their serving sizes, because it's hard to justify coming back at that value. read more

This was my first time at The Toss Up. This place is really nice, I love the way they decorated. The owner explained the menu to us and gave us a minute to decide what we wanted. In the meantime he prepared some samples. After we ordered it took a little long to get it food but we were eating in and weren't in a rush, so no big deal. I enjoyed the Chicken Tortilla soup, it was delicious. The baja salad was good too, very big. I shared that with my daughter. A gentleman walked around with soup samples which was nice because I really couldn't make up my mind between the Tomato bisque or the broccoli cheddar for next time. We tried them both, they were both good. And for dessert we ordered an Acai Bowl. The customer service was excellent. The place was very clean and they had the game on on the big TV's. Starting off with the good: I was very excited to try this place after reading all the great reviews about the food, the owner, & the service. The menu is extensive ranging from smoothie, acai bowl, soup, salad, to baked potato. Makes me reminisce the good old Souplantation days. They have a variety of food items to choose from when you want to treat yourself for being healthy. The store is pretty clean, well organized, & well kept to be efficient. They give you half a pita bread w/ your salad for free. There is a curbside pickup spot for busy people. Sadly, I didn't get to experience the hyped up owner or service. I did see him checking on people dining in, but maybe it was an off day. Maybe I came during a busy or stressful time, but the experience wasn't the greatest. No testers or samplers were offered to me, but I did see that they were to other customers by the employees that also took my order. The service wasn't special just everyone focused on doing their job, which is fair, but I didn't have the stellar experience everyone else was raving about. This was my first experience and not convinced to come again. We got two of the salads to go (baja & ahi) & although the portion size is pretty big (mostly just the greens), there wasn't much chicken or sides on it to justify the price point or lack of flavor. The dressings were ordered on the side but it wasn't nearly enough even after thoroughly tossing it in a salad bowl at home, so it was pretty bland. Maybe that's why they ask if you'd like to order extra sauce, but for an extra fee. I'd suggest asking them to pre mix the sauce if you want a moderately saucier salad or letting people know ahead of time that on the side would mean less dressing. My salad also looked like they literally just threw things on top of each other like leftovers and I wasn't expecting it to look like their menu pictures but it didn't look as presentable as the pictures that other people were posting. Additionally, it took quite some time for the items to be ready but the cherry on top was that the salad lid wasn't properly secured in the to go bag, so some of the items had already spilled onto the bottom of the bag when they handed it over to me. Parking is also really bad during peak hours since it's in a busy plaza. To be most dramatic, this experience made me feel like they had a personal vendetta against me because of how strangely disproportionate my experience was against the great reviews I see here. Glad I tried it but very sad to say it was not at all what I was expecting. Maybe if I came in without having any expectations for this place, I wouldn't have been as let down, but even still it felt very much like a franchise experience than a small business one. read more

2/28/25 - As a result of the Economic Blackout, the crowds almost took my favorite hidden gem OUT! The line was out the door when they opened and remained that way during our lunch. Despite it all, they continued to provide excellent customer and quality food. I've been enjoying this spot for over a year, but today service was definitely impacted due to the influx of people after a radio personality and news anchor recommended the Toss Up over the air. Let's just say, they blew up the spot! I love their smoothies, flavorful soups (broccoli cheddar and the chili are my favs), and build your own salads and wraps. (I love my salad chopped and tossed, thus the name, " the Toss Up." Let's not forget those gigantic stuffed potatoes and their jalapeño ranch dressing; de-lish-ous! . My favorite potatoes are the Broccoli Cheddar with grilled chicken and the Chili cheese with green onions, mushrooms, extra cheese, extra sour cream, and grilled shrimp. (No judgement, please. ) The owner is hands on and out front. He's welcoming, personable, and the perfect host. He gives a full presentation of the menu and passes out samples of food and beverages while you wait for your order. Before you know it, you'll be back at the register placing another order for the food you just samples. ( I know I'm not the only greedy person on Yelp!) His wife is truly his secret weapon. Her salad presentations are picture perfect and will make your taste buds do cartwheels in your mouth. I've been going here weekly since I work nearby. This has been my go-to salad, healthy place for months. Service is amazing, the man at the front would let me try dressings and a bit of that vegan banana cake. When I ate in the restaurant, people would check in on me. But on my last order, I ordered the mandarin salad as a take out (my usual go-to), and as I was finishing up I saw some raw chicken.
