Such a friendly welcome the minute I walked in the door. The place is popular so expect a wait (well worth it) during peak hours. If you're in a rush, call ahead to place your order. I ate at The Toss Up last night with a friend. The food was delicious. The drinks were delicious. The açaí bowl was delicious. The smoothie was delicious. Everything was delicious. The menu is large and there is so much to choose from. I appreciate their willingness to make accommodations for those who need them. They also have a few vegan options for anyone in need. The customer service is amazing. Rick, the owner, is very warm and took the time to greet us. We had a great conversation and I love that he is all about community. He shared the work they are doing to develop entrepreneurs and his motivation to hire young people to give them experience. You ever meet someone and go, "Wow!" That's Rick! Such a great heart and this was my first time meeting him. I am looking forward to going back. There is nothing like fresh, quality food and amazing customer service. Very slow service, I stopped there today and it took forever to get my order. My order wasn't right they left out my avocado and didn't have my smoothie ready that I had paid for. I just walked out without my smoothie or avocados. They need to do better. I paid almost $50 for a salad, stuffed potatoes and a green smoothie which I didn't get. Not sure where to begin. I have eaten food from The Toss Up on several occassions. My fiance typically stops by on her way home from work and brings me an amazing salad. So recently we were running errands on a Saturday afternoon and realized we were about topass by. We decided to stop and have a salad. To our amazement, they were closed? Huh? On a Saturday afternoon! We saw a few people milling around inside and suddenly the door opened. It was the owner and her husband. They asked if we were hungry and of course we said yes. They invited us inside, offered us something to drink and immediately began preparing our order. THIS IS INSANE. You are closed. Br. Broomfield (owner) said we are closed, have some high level things going on, but can't let you go hungry. I practically fell down. No one, no one, no one does this. His wife carefully prepared our meals as if she planned to eat them herself. What an experience. In business at least service businesses like this, its how you treat people that will distinguish you from others. I am a customer for life. My salad was huge and the dressing was delish. My girlfriend had the broccoli cheese soup and small salad saying it was good too. My hubby and my girlfriend's hubby enjoyed the potato chili leaving very full and happy thinking there would be nothing for them to eat at a "salad" place.
