    Inside the Trailer Park Lounge.

This past Saturday night I was heading to a Metal show over at Racket NYC which was formerly known as the Highline Ballroom in case anyone was curious. When some other friends announced that they were going as well, we all planned on meeting somewhere for some drinks and eats. Now, I don't drink anymore but I used to love the burger at McKenna's which we learned had been closed for months based on recent neighborhood construction and sadly their future is up in the air about being in another location. Among the other choices I remembered the Trailer Park Lounge which was not too far away and recalled that it was it was very kitschy and the food was good when I had last been there about ten years ago. My friends agreed and found that it had a similar vibe to a bar we all loved named Duke's which is also long gone and since their goal was beers, shots and something to eat, the Trailer Park Lounge won the coin toss. I should mention that there was not coin tossed and myself and the events field commander for the night mandated that was where we were heading. We all sat at the bar and just took it all in since there is a lot of wild stuff to see around the bar. A vintage jukebox that doesn't work and all sorts of gas station and food service sights. On the main opposing wall of the bar is a full size trailer but its not something you can go in as its only the side and is attached to the wall. I snapped a lot of photos to include here in this Yelp for the curious. In addition to the spaces at the bar there was a nook into the front which is great for a small group, then some tables off to the side and in the back past the bar. My friends had PBR beers and some shots while one had some kind of vodka drink in a can that reminded me of the White Claw's and I had an exciting Sprite. Two of our number had the Philly Cheesesteak which looked awesome but I opted for a bacon cheeseburger having had that on my mind at the onset. Of course after I ordered this I took notice of a bar placard that lauded a very tasty looking fried chicken sandwich. Next time for sure. I had said burger cooked to my preference and it came with tater tots, a favorite, and tomato, lettuce and pickle and also an onion slice which I cannot handle anymore so I shared that along. The burger was quite good and hit the spot. Our server/bartender was Amanda and she was cool but wasn't the chattiest sort. There was a decent crowd and they are there to work more than talk about endless minutia from patrons, myself included but we all were pleased with the level of speed and service. A downside was no Wi-Fi at all and I think in this day and age that more bars should look into this. Especially when you have the kind of stuff that this one has all around the space. Though I cannot determine when I will be back, I will for sure be returning. I guess it all falls upon what show might be coming to the Racket NYC club next. Overall this is a good choice.

Really like this place. I love dive bars and this was fun. My wife and I chatted up the bartender and bar back, wound up making friends with the guy next me at the bar - it's that kind of place. Perfectly kitschy bar that's well worn and visual feast for the eyes. Pleasantly unpretentious and relaxed. You want an upper scale bar? This ain't it - and I'm glad it's not. Just wish the beer was a little cheaper...

What a unique spot! I was just passing by when the neon lights out front grabbed my attention and I had to check it out. Once inside, I was completely amazed by the vintage decor - it is absolutely everywhere! Old-school advertisements, antique vending machines, some Elvis memorabilia, and tons of other retro stuff filling every corner. They serve typical bar food - burgers, hot dogs, fries, that kind of stuff. The tater tots were really good though. Oh! and service was super friendly.

A very kitschy place indeed - with subpar food but fun ambience Food: I got the grilled chicken cheesesteak with seeet potatoes. It was just ok! I liked the seeet potato fries but the sandwich was just not that great, but it was filling! Service: good and attentive Price: not too expensive especially given portion sizes Ambience: kitschy to the max! It would be a fun late night spot!

Immaculate dive vibes and bar food. Certainly a place to hang out with friends for a couple drinks and greasy bites. We got the nachos with their homemade turkey chilli and it hit home. Love to go to this place for a yummy easy bite or to have a beer from their bath cooler and enjoy the sights

Upon walking in I had a pretty rough time here. Not sure if it was a communication issue or the bartender just was having a bad day. Whatever it was I did not deserve to be yelled at like a child. So much so the couple next to me apologized for him. I was so uncomfortable. It could of been a lot of factors on why this man was treating and singling me out the way he was, but I don't even care to expend anymore energy on it. It was such a fun looking establishment! Four is for ambiance, kitsch, and photo ops only. I should also add that service was kind and attentive! With this place, what you see is what you get. It's New York's idea of trashy southern trailer parks (I do hail from Kentucky). Menu is SUUUPER basic--burgers, sliders, BEC, sloppy joes, trashy trailer park Tex-mex--I mean that in the nicest way possible. Very limited drink menu--only a couple drinks for single people, the rest are large/double drinks for couples, or pitchers for multiple people. Rum, pineapple, frozen margaritas and peach schnapps. You shouldn't expect gourmet cocktails & food in a trailer park. People were enjoying themselves in this dive bar. Surrounded by neon and kitschy props, I enjoyed myself long enough to have one drink and to take some photos. Not a destination, but worth a look!

Does this bar serve wine? I see Champagne on the menu, but not wine.

I don't recall seen by wine as being available. Their margueritas are well known and they have s good selection of beers and spirits. Go go the atmosphere. Unique as it gets! Enjoy!

Does this restaurant still serve breakfast tacos?

    No

I know a few of the bartenders by name and even the ones I don't are still really nice and chill. its nice that there is a place I can go where I actually like the music they play and while sometimes spots might be on id say it's more of a dive bar then a sports bar might not be for everyone but I really like not having to care about sports in a bar. It has easily earned a spot as one of my favorite bars of all time. The underground space flawlessly captures a raw, seedy, 1980s rock 'n' roll vibe, with eclectic decor that extends beautifully to the themed menus and custom glassware. Sitting at the bar was a highlight--the bartenders were fantastic, clearly proud of their craft, and they even humorously indulged my game of trying to guess the ingredients of each drink they mixed. The cocktail lineup is phenomenal. A few absolute highlights: the Purple Rain with its purple ice and peppercorn, the flambéed Dirty Dancing, a brilliant espresso martini riff called Flick The Bean, and Pure Temptation--which has glassware you just have to see for yourself. You need a password (easy to find online), and you go through a hidden door down a staircase. But it feels more like a novelty than anything else. NYC has way more iconic speakeasies, so this isn't somewhere I'd go out of my way for more than once. Nothing wrong with the vibe--it's Times Square, so you already know what you're getting--but it's definitely a one-and-done kind of spot. The drinks are good and super fun, but they're very extra (smoke, presentation, all that), so between that and how packed it gets, it can take a while just to get one cocktail. Didn't try the food. Overall, go for the pics and TikToks--it's perfect for that. I'd recommend checking it out once, but I don't really see it being a repeat spot.
