All in all, it was simply wonderful. The hostess was very professional and welcoming and set the tone for our celebration. We were seated by a window to enjoy a beautiful, relaxing view of the bay which enhanced our experience. We were greeted promptly by Kyle who was our kind, knowledgeable, and patient server. He went over the complete menu and wine list with us and made suggestions when asked. We had the blackened chicken sandwich and the c level wagyu burger and both were terrific. The burger was cooked perfectly and went very well with the wine that was suggested. Kyle made the experience memorable for us and we hope to see him on our next visit. The single waiter likely had too many tables to serve as it took him a little while to get back to us each time. The restaurant's decor and ambiance seemed elegant, but the food experience for the very extensive price we paid was abysmal.

I'm not sure if the goal was to keep food coming steadily or to turn the table quickly for the next reservation. We also had an issue with the carajillos. I specifically asked if the bar knew how to make them. What arrived had no espresso, just coffee liqueur, and tasted like cough syrup. We sent them back. Later the manager explained the espresso machine was broken and they managed to make proper ones for us, which was a nice recovery. The surprise, though, was still being charged for both rounds without any discussion after we returned the first ones. On a positive note, the server did bring out birthday dessert for the two birthday guests, which was a thoughtful touch. The space itself looks nice, but it didn't quite live up to Michelin-star expectations for me.
