I no longer live in the West Side Une but sometimes we like to venture out this way to check out new places to eat. We stumbled upon The Une on Yelp and decided to treat ourselves on a Friday evening. We got there a little bit before they close at 6pm. Upon entering, we were greeted by the lovely owner. I wish I got her name! She said that her son owns the shoe shop that's close by. She was super sweet and welcoming. She also has a nice selection of candy for the kiddos, but we want to delay giving our baby sweets until much later haha. We ordered the beef bulgogi sandwich and it came out pretty quickly. The bulgogi was flavorful and the sauce that came with it was really tasty too. The veggies gave it a nice crunch. I enjoyed the cucumber, but the carrots didn't seem as fresh. I also would've preferred the roll to be a bit more toasted, but overall I enjoyed it and would go back to try more sandwiches :) read more

Finally tried this spot out after seeing all the hype about their sandwiches and famous bear cup! I had two food items, a drink, and a dessert. I tried the chicken dip & pesto chicken wrap. I loveddd the chicken dip! It was super gooey, warm, savory, a little sweet, and just perfect. I'd highly recommend trying that. The pesto chicken wrap was a nice refreshing bite but it's not really my thing in terms of flavor. Definitely needed a lot of hot sauce but my mom liked it on its own! For the drink I got Okinawa Brown Sugar less sweet. I liked it! It was indeed not too sweet and super tasty. The bear cup is rly cute! And the shaved ice was a must-try despite being already stuffed. It was tasty and refreshing for a hot day. The owner was so kind here!! She owns this shop and her son owns a shoes/clothes shop two doors down. They are both so genuine and sweet. Such a cute find! Met one of the owners, Ilene, she took our order, made our food, and made us feel really welcome. We ordered the Une rice bowl with beef bulgogi and the tilapia sandwich. The une rice with beef bulgogi had slices of cucumbers and seasoned slice carrots. The tilapia sandwich had two fillets, tomatoes, cheese on a toasted bread. Both were good, and next time I want to try the shrimp and crab sandwhich or avocado honey toast with ricotta. We had the orange delight which reminded me of the orange Julius and an orange dreamsicle. We wanted to come back tomorrow but Ilene said they're closed Sundays. We will be coming back for sure! Her son owns the thrift sell/buy vintage shoes and clothes about a door down who is really kind as well. The kids went in and bought some items. This place was just OK to me! Friendly staff, great music playing, and accomdating space. I got the beef bulgogi sandwich and strawberry matcha. The sandwich was good with the OMG sauce (thanks to the worker's recommendation) but by itself it was missing some flavor. The strawberry matcha was just okay too, it was feeling a little artificial considering they used stawberry syrup for the strawberry matcha. I decided to come here for lunch because I like to support the local spots here. I like that this block is hella ethnic now, which is pretty cool. When I got there, it was hella crowded and the poor cashier was hella swamped. Plus it was hella hot that day. She was moving though, props to her and the chef. I ended up ordering a bulgogi sandwich. There's seating outside and inside. It was hella hot that day with hella people so it just felt the same lol. Came here on Tuesday at 11:40am. Yelp and the sign posted on their door says open at 11:30am. There was no one in there. The sign on the door said closed and door was locked. Wife and I like to support small businesses, but our absolute pet peeve is when businesses don't abide by their indicated hours (which has happened more often since the pandemic). We're all for individuals opening their businesses and running it as they like, but we'd appreciate more clarity on the ACTUAL service hours. We saw an ad for this shop on Yelp and thought we'd drive up to our hometown to support, but it was surprisingly closed at 1:30pm on a Sunday (within the 11am-5pm range indicated by their hours of operation). The 1 star is for the Bulgogi Sandwich. Came in on a Saturday (1PM) and ordered 2 bulgogi sandwiches, but was told they only had enough bulgogi to make 1. I asked for a roast beef sandwich instead, but they didn't have roast beef either. The cashier didn't know how to refund me so he refunded me in cash. It was really a basic sandwich. We tried the roast beef and the chicken sandwiches both with the OMG sauce on sourdough and it tasted on-par with a Safeway premade sandwich. Neither of us could really tell that there was special sauce added to it, maybe it was the yellow mustard that overpowered it? Was walking around the neighborhood and I saw a beef bulgogi sandwich on their menu. I was curious if it was good but I just ate so I thought I'd try another time. As we were walking away the owner Ilene introduced herself to us. She was very friendly and offered us to try the sandwich. Minutes later she came out with the sandwich and it looked so good I had to eat it right there. The sandwich had a lot of beef and toppings. The bulgogi was tender and very flavorful.
