Each year I come back for Christmas, I will come to the union. I like this restaurant a lot. We order Kung Pao chicken rice bowl and salmon sandwich. The rice bowl is great, not necessarily kung pao, but it is tasty and I really appreciate a suburb restaurant offering chopsticks and having Asian food here. The salmon sandwich is amazing. the only thing is when they put it into the take out box, it messes up the form of sandwich. read more

First visit to this restaurant. Inside it was designed with a cool, retro 70s feel. There's also some seating outside in front of the restaurant and along one side of the restaurant. The restaurant sets very close to the road. I had the club sandwich which is served on fresh and delicious ciabatta bread. For the side I chose their hand cut fries which were awesome. My wife had the salmon BLT which she said was incredible. Looking forward to a return visit! read more

Menu is all over the place - Asian dishes, pizza, and sloppy joes. Everything is good, but rarely great. No seasoning on the burger or the chicken sandwich for instance, so I would avoid those. Fries are excellent and are the best in Milton. Stir fry is tasty. This location has so much potential, but needs a more focused menu and theme with a broad bourbon selection. read more

We came here on a Friday night and though it was crowded, we were able to get a table with about a 20 minute wait for our party of 3. We waited in our car and was eventually seated inside. Our table had a nice view of the small kitchen and bar area. There are lots of outside seating as well, but we wanted first available. The menu had lots of options to choose from, which will surely have something for everyone in your group. We ended up getting a bunch of the appetizers for our meal. The ahi poke was a crowd favorite as was the Blues and BBQ. The bacon and green onion were a nice touch for the dipping sauce and the BBQ chips were not that strong in BBQ flavor. The tomato bisue was rich and tasty. The wings were just average and not crispy enough. We'll definitely be back! read more

This is one restaurant I've been wanting to try for a very long time! It did not disappoint. Our waitress was super helpful is choosing our Appetizer and Entree. Her first response is "everything on our menu is fantastic". I definitely believe it! We started with the warm Crab Dip which was delicious and well portioned. The texture was even perfect for the dip and not too thick. I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel with Brussel Sprouts and Butternut Squash. It was even better than the picture! For dessert, the French beignets were amazing! They even came with Espresso Chocolate Chip ice cream. I definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

We have tried to visit The Union in the past with little success due to the wait. When we found a free weekday afternoon we figured we'd give it another go for lunch. We opted for a patio table and were able to sit right away. No issue parking either, with the private gravel lot. The service was great throughout; warm, friendly, and attentive. Unfortunately I do not recall his name because he was awesome. He insisted everything we ordered was "fun" and I could not agree more! We ordered the following: Double Barrel Margarita ($10.49) Chicken Schnitzel ($16.50) Shrimp & Grits ($19.75) Jalapeño Mac & Cheese ($5.75) Sautéed Thin Beans ($5.25) The Margarita was great and so reasonably priced. Honestly, we were so pleasantly surprised when we received the bill. Everything was yummy and was such a great value. We loved every dish - and with such a variety on the menu there are so many other things we still want to try. The shrimp and grits was such a nice play on a classic. I loved the veggies selected and the shrimp were so plump and juicy! I also had several bites of hubs' schnitzel (which I almost ordered myself) and it was so delicious. Crisp and moist with a variety of flavors and textures. The fried capers really were an awesome touch. The green beans - what is not to love. Crisp and flavorful cooked just the way we like them. The mac & cheese was also awesome - I love my mac & cheese a little "soupy" and this one did not disappoint. You also cannot go wrong with the addition of the jalapeños. The peppers made the dish so flavorful without being spicy. It is a shame I did not have room for dessert because I am sure it would have been amazing, too. These are the same folks who own 7 Acre, so I had to give them a try. It's pretty laid back and casual but the food is fantastic! Started off with the blues & bbq chips - house made bbq chips topped with Blue cheese dressing, bacon, and green onion. I could eat these all day! Also got the classic cooler, which was tasty and refreshing. The chicken parm was outstanding. Chicken parm is like my favorite comfort food ever and I rarely pass it up. It's a simple dish but some places unfortunately really %#*! it up but this makes up for all those places in the past. It's a huge portion so I was thrilled to have lunch for the next day. The pasta has a rich parmesan cream sauce and the chicken isn't all soggy like you often find. I definitely see it being a go-to for my chicken parm cravings. Lastly, the coffee and donuts dessert was delicious. Not too sweet or heavy but just right. In comparison to 7 Acre, I'd have to say 7 Acre is still my favorite but it's close. They're just different and the menus take a different approach but the quality and service at both are stellar. read more

So I came for lunch on a weekday with my friend and we both ordered the chicken schnitzel. I've never been here before so I didn't know what it should've looked like and when the chicken came out, I thought to myself, man that looks burnt but maybe that's how it should be... BUT after looking on Yelp at other pics, I don't think my chicken was what it should be haha. Take a look at my pic and see for yourself. UGH - but believe it or not, the chicken was actually okay. The cheese grits and the salad w capers on top was good. Service was friendly and fast but server never refilled our water. I'm kinda still upset about the chicken but maybe it's a good excuse to go back again...or not. Parking gets full FAST during lunch/dinner rush so get there early. read more

Just seemed a bit disorganized. The burger was ok..a bit messy & fries a disappointment. The pizza didn't look too appetizing & not special at all. Again had to ask for refills. Every time I drive by this place the parking lot is full and people are waiting to get in the door. So when a friend suggested we try someplace new this restaurant came to mind. We must have had the worst waitress in the place because it was clear from the get go she was not interested in serving us. We ordered drinks and an appetizer which were both delicious. Our waitress came to check on us and took our orders for dinner. We did try to engage her by asking her recommendations and she did respond but did not elaborate on any of the menu items. We had the burgers and at no time did our waitress come by to ask if we wanted another drink or how our food was. She came by to collect our dishes and we gave her an order for dessert. Dessert came and it was delish. Portions are a bit stingy for the price but not surprised given the location. Server came back with a to-go box and did not tell us how much dinner was. First time here. It's out in the country. There's even a pond next door with serenading frogs. I read the reviews and saw that chicken tenders were good here. However when I ordered them I was told that "the fryer broke". No tenders. My bad luck. I got another chicken dish with bones and skin, so I was disappointed. Wife had chicken parm. A bit burnt on the edges, with scant red sauce and cheese. So she just cut off the burnt parts. We will return and give them a second chance to wow us. read more

The first time I visited I would have given The Union 5 stars. Visited again tonight and was disappointed. The skinny margarita is fantastic. Very good. The house red wine is great for the price. The Union cocktail is good albeit very very light on the alcohol. Had the gnocchi both visits. The first time it was so good. So so good. This time, the gnocchi came out really burnt. I had to send it back. The second time it was just...I'm not sure how to describe it. It tasted and looked like it just wasn't made with the care and expertise that it was the first time I visited. The food was good, but the parking situation is truly ridiculous. Twice I've tried to bring my out of town guests and there's not been a single parking space, people will double park, and sometimes even park in the throughway. There's not even accessible places to park to pick up to-go orders. If you manage to find a parking space, I highly recommend the black bean burger. Even as an omnivore, it's delicious! Great spot! Off the beaten path a bit but a very good place to eat and drink. They have an outside covered patio or you can sit inside. The bar area is nice (a bit small) with TVs. Very clean, and the food is really good. I had the Salmon BLT (blackened) (pictured) and she had the chicken sandwich grilled. Good selection of beers, wine and cocktails (full bar). Out in the middle of nowhere is this joint. It's fairly new and has a small bar and some outdoor and patio seating. They always have a crowd as most tables are filled which brings me to the bathrooms...the men's is one toilet and one urinal with no privacy barriers so whoever goes in there locks the frock door freezing out another person and forcing a line to form into the dining room. How would you like to sit there having a nice meal and have folks hoping around your table trying to hold it in waiting for some knucklehead to finish the hell up! He dude there's a line out here!! Deducting a star here Union Restaurant. Spotty bar service. Looks like the bartender performs double/triple duty here also working outside and the patio. The wood roasted wings are excellent but pricy due to the small portion. The salads are really good in taste and value. I had an excellent wedge for under $9. Well I finally gathered family up from Canton, Cumming and Gainesville for a belated Mothers Day lunch and it was a wonderful dining experience.
