Wow, this UPS store is not helpful at all. They wanted $2.50 to print a UPS shipping label so I went to FedEx and they did it for 14 cents but it would have been free if it was a FedEx label. Upon arrival at the UPS store, I was offered to put my box into one of their boxes for $14. I declined then was told that tape is $2 to seal my box. Fortunately, I had tape in the car so I didn't have to pay their charge. I was told they are doing me a favor by accepting my box as it was because it said Udon on it. We needed to get a P.O box when we moved here, and we were blown away at the amazing customer service Sunny and her team offered us! They were always quick to let us know that a package arrived, and always gave a smiling face and warm gesture when we came in. I've gone to this UPS store twice this week and I still have not shipped out my package. Why? because the first time I went there, they do not carry UPS boxes and I wasn't about to pay $3 for a plain box (the specially marked UPS boxes use to be free). Then I went again today after packaging my items in my own free box only to find out that they no longer have access to UPS accounts so I needed a pre-printed label. When did it get so hard to mail out an item via UPS? I'm giving them one star not because the company policies changed but because of the customer service, lack of parking, and when I first entered, I didn't know if I stepped into a garage sale or something. No one greeted me the two times I was there, I had to say hello first, then instead of explaining the policy changes, they barked at me - like it was my fault for not knowing the company's changes. I use to go to the Hawaii Kai location and boy, I sure miss living out there at moments like these. read more

I bought a very large, hand carved fish hook that was to large to bring home. I was first excited that this location was open on Sunday, but today it was delivered. After traveling almost 3000 miles I opened the box and not only was it just as perfect as when I dropped it off, but how it was packed was exceptional! UPS driver of truck #664544 ( the license plate so faded you couldnt read them) on 02/01/2021 at about 11:00am parked his truck in the middle of the road blocking the traffic exiting a business driveway. When I asked him if he was going to block the road while delivering his package he just gave me a dirty look and went to deliver his package while blocking myself and 2 other cars in the driveway. When I called UPS to file a complaint they wanted more information from me than they even asked about the driver. Used to exclusively use UPS. Not anymore. read more

Wow, just wow! Have been having occasional UPS 'My Choice' packages dropped off here for more than one year. Typically interactions are short, rude, curt, unfriendly....but, hey only there to pick up a package. Not there to make friends or be entertained, I can handle curt, rude, and unfriendly. Yesterday, however I spent nearly 3 hours on the phone (makaloa store, UPS 1-800#, Amazon cust Service, and UPS airport location) trying to decipher why the Makaloa UPS access point had marked my 2 packages as "refused by recipient, return to sender". Note, not marked "failed delivery attempt", but refused and returned to sender. When I spoke to the woman @ Makaloa store, she stated facility was full and she refused delivery. Full house.....I get it, it happens, but don't RTS for one failed delivery attempt. Especially, as I, not she is the "recipient". She told me that she IS the recipient and "only following the shipper's instructions. Asked why I was not contacted.....reply "we couldn't possibly do that" Since I was on the phone with lagoon drive ups within 2 hours of packages being "refused".......a very nice gentleman was able to pull the packages back out of the shipping container. He asked if I would consider using a different access point, because the lady at Makaloa was very "stressed". That is the word we both laughingly agreed upon......other words are perhaps more descriptive. Never imagined that I would spend 3 hours of my day chasing packages yesterday, and another 20 minutes today to write this review. I so wish I had read yelp reviews prior to utilizing this business. Bad reviews date all the way back to 2015......and many of the 5* reviews seems questionable.....as if (IMO) written by family, employees, or friends read more

Super greedy korean owners. Never have I EVER had an bad experience with UPS until coming to this location. Also, i have never been charged for a smidgen of tape at ANY other UPS location besides this one. Cheap, greedy, stingy, money groveling owners. & yeah. I was helped by the korean lady owner. I went there to return an Amazon item. I was old my image was not bright enough from my phone. But I had also sent an image to of the code by email. I was told that would be $3.00 + .66 center tax. They printed the image from the email and did the scan. They could have just scanned the image from the email. It was not necessary to print the code. That wa s a waste of paper and extra cost that was not necessary. Not going back there again, there are other UPS stores available. read more

This location is conveniently open on Saturdays. The parking lot on the ground floor can sometimes get crazy, but there's usually a lot of space on the second floor. They have a traffic director, but people can navigate and wait for people to move on their own. I've actually seen the parking guy get yelled at. read more

Don't go to this store. Very rude. Bought a PO Box and tried to change address with USPS and got an error message from USPS. Went to the store and asked what the email meant and I all got was I have 300 other customer and they don't have a problem. I asked for the money back and was interrogated on why. I go to this location because it's convenient. Previously I didn't care so much that they weren't super friendly. I'm just doing my Amazon return or shipping something. But, the other day I had an Amazon return which weighed 97 pounds. We repacked it in a box and brought it in. The first thing the lady says is it needs more tape. Okay, my husband went to the car to get more tape. She tries to lift the box but it's too heavy. We rolled it in on a dolly. She said how much does it weigh? I say 97 pounds. She said they won't take it and I need to take it to the main UPS near the airport. So today, I called two other UPS stores and described my box and the weight of the box. They both said they would be able to take my return. All I can think of is that this location is horrible. read more

Located on the second floor above the Palama Supermarket, it is convenient for your Amazon return needs (and your other shipping needs). There are parking stalls but they are shared with the supermarket and other businesses. There is a second floor parking lot but usually you can find space on the first floor. If you have a heavy package, there is an elevator near the supermarket entrance. Overall it is a convenient location. read more

I used to come here for my Amazon returns because it's closest to home. However recently, I learned this branch does not honor the Amazon posted policy of the UPS store taking responsibility of packing the merchandise. The aunty tried to make me pay for the tape to close the original Amazon box for return. Went there to drop off my UPS box, I usually print my own label but today I ran out of ink, since on my email from UPS that I can print Free label in the store so I went. The old lady told me she will charge me $3.00 for printing a label, I explained to her that it say's I can print label in the store for free, but since I didn't have cash on me I had to leave and ended printing another label from a friend's printer. With all the poor reviews of this store I was worried about dropping off my package for fear that it would not get delivered but decided to take a chance. The parking lot for the building is super stressful because it's shared with the very busy Palama Market but thankfully there were lots of spots opened when I arrived. This UPS store is located on the 2nd story and I was pleasantly surprised by the quick and efficient service I received. They scanned my box, gave me a receipt and I was out in less than two minutes. I had noticed the poor reviews across yelp and google but I just always ignored her and never let it get to me and figured her bad mood was her deal. Well, today I found myself in the area and went to drop off some items. I had some trouble figuring out the QR codes for a couple items because Amazon sent me multiple ones (to fix an issue). Pretty quickly, the lady starts to get an attitude with me about how Amazon will show which item the label is for under the code. I tried to explain to her that I just needed a minute to find the right ones because Amazon made custom labels for me and it went directly to my e-mail, so there was no description of it for QR codes in the e-mail. She began arguing with me and raising her voice, insisting "it was there" and that she's been doing this for 20 years. I figured it was just a language barrier issue but she continued to argue and then even making it a point to look at her screen and call me by my first name. OK. THEN, she proceeded to tell me that I "must be a pretty unhappy person." No, just human, who - apparently - even when having an incredible day can let someone like her get under her skin. I kept coming here because I thought - whatever. Her attitude is her own. I was fine and that I'd just "ignore" her bad moods. No more! I'll be going somewhere else that doesn't have such bad vibes. Would like to give them a ZERO. They opened my box (to "compact" it, they said) then asked me what I was shipping about 3x then started going through my box and taking out my clothes from the box. Yes, they went through and took my stuff out of my box. They then told me that the total would be $150, when I had mailed packages that were bigger and weighed more for about $100. Then they printed the label out and it wasn't even the name or address I had on the box, and also asked me if I needed it there anytime soon. I described this to a few other people and they said it sounded like they were tacking on insurance under a different name and then planning "losing" my package and then collecting on the insurance. I ended up not shipping my package there, too many red flags. I did ask them many times throughout this ordeal 'what's going on?' or 'why do you need to know?' and 'why are you asking?', but it was always only met with a chuckle and then ignored. Avoid this place at any cost as they are probably actively scamming people. read more

She said she can print my 3 pages for $4 to $5. I left and made copies somewhere else and applied labels as directed by Amazon. She questioned my labels and stated I didn't do it right and didn't have enough copies. I did and printed exactly what Amazon has on its directions. She was no help! WOW totally shocked at the $20 notary fee for one signature! What gives? The Hawaii Attorney General's website puts the maximum fee which can be charged at $5 per signature. What gives here?? This is really too much to charge. I'll be shopping around a bit more next time. And I should have read the other Yelpers' reviews before heading off to their place. Lesson learned. Update: I just checked my receipt -- $5.00 for "notary" and $15.00 for "clerical fee". I guess this is one way to get around the maximum as specified by the AG. Beware! read more

I asked for a small package be sent to Japan, and the lady told me it would cost $100 something. I was like, "Oh is there anything cheaper?" And she called of her lady buddy, and they talked in Korean for awhile, which, by the way, I could understand. She then said, "We can do another shipping method for $70" And I said, "There's no cheaper shipping? I don't need tracking or insurance or anything FYI" And they talked longer in Korean saying he doesn't want tracking (basically restating what I had just said). Then she goes, "The cheapest shipping method we have is $60 without tracking and without insurance." I said no thank you and left them. I went to the UPS in downtown and they did it for $15.
