Took my package here to get dropped off for Postal last Saturday, paid them on location for the shipment to be presumably delivered today in NY. Over the course of the Veteran's Day weekend, i noticed my package was not scanning. My client started getting upset. I called the store and was told that packages from the weekend would be picked up on Tuesday by USPS and would start scanning. None of that happened. When tracking the package, it says label was created (=printed) and never scanned. I called back several times and the owner John (guy with british accent) kept brushing me off saying to be patient until friday (today) since there was nothing he could do. Today was friday and i called back quite upset. Another of their employees recommended that i go harass the local post office that handles their dropoffs in Signal Hill. I went. Nobody knew anything, and since tracking doesn't work, they can't even tell of the package was ever dropped off. Ups doesn't have proof that they dropped it off and Usps doesn't have proof of receiving or shipping it. So now it's like "screw the customer" and they are not helping. They want me to hope that after i paid for this shipment, the package will miraculously show up w my customer and live happily ever after. Ups blames usps, usps blames ups. One says they are not responsible for Usps shipments scanning and usps says they can't tell if ups ever dropped off the package. I took a photo of the shipment at this UPs after payment with the label they created for it while it was still on the scale and you can see how the tracking looks. The hassle cost me a monetary loss for my order, an upset customer, loss of time calling and driving to these people and a bunch of nerves. Unprofessional handling of mail. BEWARE. They do not take responsibility for their actions and John gives you the runaround without actually doing anything after promising to take care of the matter. He instead pushed the job over to me and told me to start a case with usps because apparently he is too busy losing other packages in the meantime. Horrible customer service. You guys are harming people's mail with your lack of care. When i walked in, customer's dropoff mail was sitting dumped on the floor of the lobby with no sort or privacy to people's addresses. And just to tell you that this is just how they handle everything, scroll down to read another customer's review under Carson who i just learned has gone through the same exact thing. Apparently, dear John, after all your fancy patience talk, after having me wait for a week for this crap, this is how you do things at this location. Just ripping people off, huh. I've had a mailbox here for over 10 years. I don't know how the owner and the staff do it but they are solid gold. This location gets a lot of action due to it's proximity to the blue line and downtown and when I'm here spending extra time here sorting my mail I hear all kinds of things. The staff here are nothing but nice and courteous to every person who walks into the store NO MATTER WHAT. I use the website made the appointment and when I went into the store they told me the notary was not there. I will never go to this location again. I work from home and usually use this location. I've had two great experiences here. I went in today at 5, just days before Christmas, and was out in no time. I forgot my wallet, and they packed my massive amount of stuff while I went back home to get it. How nice! Last time I came to return a book I got on Amazon. The guy was super nice and I was in and out of the store in 5 minutes. It was great. Parking in the lot is also easy and free for the first 15 minutes. This UPS store was awesome. I needed to return something to Amazon, but recently moved and haven't set up my printer yet. I saw in some reviews that I could print my labels at the store, so I took my chances, packed up my box, and headed over. I walked in and they knew immediately, without me saying anything, that I needed to return something. I was a little confused by the fact that there were no printer/computers for me to print something on my own, and they explained I'd just forward whatever label or link to their store email and they'd take care of it. A whopping $0.17 later for the print job, they had printed not only my shipping label but also my return slip which I'd forgotten to include in the package. Without even questioning, they opened up the box, put in the return slip, and repackaged it for me. All of this took about 5-10 minutes at most, and that was with other customers in the store. I really can't say higher things about this location. I don't know if the worker was the owner, or just an amazing employee, but I will definitely be coming back to this UPS store for any shipping needs I may have. A well deserved 5 stars. read more

This place shouldn't advertise shipping with USPS. After going there, USPS would have shipped cheaper, quicker and with better tracking. They do not offer USPS tracking, but do offer UPS tracking, that is how they get you. But their prices are higher than a private shipping center... read more

So they give you an opportunity to email your files and they will print them for you by sending them to the email list it. But they just changed it to where they now charge you three dollars on top of the printing fee! So I printed two sheets of paper and end up being $3.57!!! When I called no one told me that because previously I've never paid an additional three dollars to print a sheet of paper. Office Depot doesn't have an additional charge you can print it from your email and they only charge you for the sheet of paper. He picks these guys to ship his Marshall guitar amp. They charge him a shipping fee, charge him insurance fees, ($2000) value for a vintage guitar amp. They ship it out...No worries right?? 1) Problem number 1 (inadequate packing) - It arrives literally in pieces. busted cabinet, destroyed electronics, the whole nine yards! Not happy but hey no worries, I bought insurance worth $2000 to cover it right? ------- Wrong! 2) Problem 2 When he attempts to open a claim, this UPS Franchise store decides to waffle on the insurance they sold him. Now they attempt to summons some repair people (instead of his normal Tech). 3) Now they claim that it cant be repaired by the company they chose. Long story short....STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS.......CROOKS, LIARS. Don't ship anything of value with them. Well over a year later and I can now say the bald guy with the goatee is Shon! lol. He seems to work almost every evening shift and I love it. He's always super friendly, and since I do have to go in regularly it's been cool. He knows me by name and remembers my mailbox number so often even if it's busy he can grab my stuff real quick. Definitely happy with this place! Oh, and cause i'm stupid.. I had no idea for like 8 months that you can actually just park inside the building for 20 minutes for free, and if you need more time they'll validate you for 20 more. I have been packaging boxes for shipment with UPS for 25 years. I've never had to file a claim and seldom purchase insurance, as I've never needed it. Recently, I had a package worth $1000, purchased the additional insurance, and sent it on the short trip to San Francisco. Somewhere between this shop and SF, $300 in damage was done to my package. I filed a claim, UPS, despite their claim, didn't actually OPEN the box to inspect it, and rejected the claim. UPS passed the buck onto the ups store. I provided an in-depth statement and half a dozen photos showing 39 dented tins and a crushed box, as well as the bubble wrap and 2"of packing peanuts required by UPS. CLAIM AGAIN REJECTED You'd think, a business owner would stand by their service and stand up for their customers. All the owner suggested was I get insurance. WHAT THE F*CK IS THAT?!?! read more

Just OK.... Make SURE to verify pricing BEFORE the item is packed. Called shop and asked approximately how much it would cost to pack an item for shipping, was told by the girl who answered the phone $10-15.. Took the item over to be packaged, figuring it would be no more than $20. At the store, there isn't any signage indicating what the prices are, nor did I see printed price lists. Because of my prior phone conversation with the UPS store employee, I made the mistake of assuming the price I was quoted via the phone, was what I would pay. At the end of the day, it cost me nearly $40 to package my item. Well over double what I was told on the phone. I wasn't really happy about this, but, the item was already packed and I didn't have time to take it somewhere else. I think this business would be much better served by clearly informing customer how much it will cost to pack an item, before it is packed. In any event, the packing job seemed good and I've got my fingers crossed that this item will arrive in one piece. read more

I was in Long Beach this week for a conference. We went to the UPS Store to make some copies, laminate some things and buy some boxes for our trade show display. The customer service guy was very polite as he answered our questions and helped us out. However, when the owner came out, our experience was over the top. Not only did he provide great suggestions for eating but he helped us get our stuff to the show, he visited us during the show to confirm we had our needs met, and contacted us on the last day of the show again. His business is normal UPS stuff but his service is spectacular! I highly recommend using the services of this store for anyone exhibiting at the LB Conference Center (which is also only a block away)! read more

Having had a few less than enjoyable experience with UPS (the parent shipping company) I had in the past avoided the UPS brand whenever possible. I came in to this location today to send a badly damaged iPhone into apple for repairs and was greeted immediately by one of the two gentlemen working, despite them clearly being very busy. I'm an e-commerce geek so I especially enjoyed the excellent selection of brand name mailing supplies, like the big bright red Manila envelopes I'd been looking for for a while to no avail. This is a well run and pleasant store! I recommend either this store or the secret (well hidden) line-free, well stocked, and air conditioned United States post office buried in the world trade annex for all your long beach mailing and shipping needs.
