I just walked into this UPS store with two packages one was a 5 x 5 x 5 prepaid label package as a drop off and the other I was going to pay for overnight service of a 18 x 20 x 4 package. The second I set both packages down the young man came up to me and said oh these need to be sealed up I can't take them not offering to sell me tape or anything and I was going to pay likely around $55 for the one overnight package, the least he could do is give me one tiny piece of tape to seal up the tiny box. This is ridiculous. I will never come back here and I will tell my friends not to come here either. I guess his conversation on his earbuds is more important than customer service. I dropped off an item I had boxed up and packaged myself and had the gentleman who worked there create a label for ground shipping. This was on a Saturday. The gentleman told me it would not go out until Monday and the package would arrive on Tuesday. I checked on Tuesday and the recipient did not receive the package. I tracked the package on the UPS website and it showed the label was created but UPS never received the package. I called the UPS Store Thursday morning and was told they were going to look for the package and call me with details. Coincidentally the recipient received the package the day after I called the UPS Store. I was called by the UPS Store the following Monday and they left a message that it was "caught up at the UPS hub in Newbury Park". I highly doubt this very much since1) I was told the package would go out the Monday after I dropped it off so it was probably put down and forgotten about, 2) when I called the UPS Store to inquire what happened to my package I was told they were going to look around the store for the package 3) it was too much of a coincidence the the recipient received the package the day after I called the store. Shipping, even ground, is not cheap. I relied on this business and trusted them. Unfortunately that trust has been broken. I will now be using other shipping services. read more

So I went in there to ship out a very expensive motorcycle exhaust to Canada. I first noticed upon walking in, every counterspace had boxes piled on top of each other, not in any way shape or form stacked nicely, some boxes were vertical, Some boxes were sideways. So then I glanced into the back room, and it looked even worse. Piles of boxes on top of each other , sideways, falling down, one look like a teeter totter. When I asked the young gentleman if we could repackage my box because the box was the original box that was shipped to me, I felt like I confused him, asking him this question, It was like his first time ever being asked to put a package in a box. I immediately took my package and walked out because I don't trust my expensive item with this specific establishment. I was away from my office and had to ship something. I ship via UPS regularly and had everything prepared for this shipment, but did not have a pouch with me to affix the label to my parcel. I went in to this store and there was only one visible worker, Vanessa. I asked her for a shipping pouch, and she refused. Perhaps there was some confusion on her part, so I clarified, "the self adhesive pouch that's about 6 or 7 inches by 10 inches". She refused again. I pointed out that UPS provides them for *free* in packs of 50, to shippers with accounts (me) as well as to the store. They're also available in the UPS "mailboxes" in public spaces. She was adamant (and a bit rude) that she would not provide a pouch. I asked to speak with the manager, and she claimed to be the manager. No luck. I asked to speak with the owner, and she said the owner was not available. I went to another store and they happily provided a pouch, no questions asked. That second store told me they think the manager of this store is "Reza", not Vanessa. Hours later, I called this store. I asked for the owner, and Vanessa again refused. I asked when the owner might be available and she claimed to have no knowledge. (I agree, she seems quite clueless.) I asked if I could get a call back, she again refused. I asked how often the owner might be available, and gave suggestions; once a day, once a week, or once every few months. She stood her ground, refusing to provide *any* information. I can't believe this is how they treat a customer - for any reason. I would not expect the owner trains people this way. Next day, I called the store corporate offices at 858-455-8700. After 14 minutes of "your call is *very* important to us" their system hung up. I called again and after a few minutes spoke with Stephanie. She advised me that the owner of this store is "Ibrahim". Corporate will send a message to him asking to contact me, and it might take up to five days. And with enough complaints, corporate WILL close the store! I've noticed that there are other complaints about Vanessa. If I ever enter this store again and Vanessa is there, I won't even bother. U-turn and I'm outta there. But rest assured, I will not go back there. There's a Postal Annex in the same parking lot, and another UPS store at Avenida de Los Arnold's @ Erbs, or Newbury Road @ Ventu. I just sent the following email to UPS through their claims website (jacket description added here) : I have been trying to collect insurance claim due to a lost package sent on 12/27/2019 to ***Name and address deleted for privacy reasons.*** It was a $200 fuschia rain jack for cycling sent from the UPS Store at 1534 N Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, 805-494-6500. This store says they haven't heard from UPS claims and UPS Claims says I need to speak with the UPS Store. I'm going to file a claim with the small claims court in CA after the holiday weekend. I'm done! I just sent the following email to the UPS Store on Moorpark with the note below as well as a copy of my email to UPS Claims Dept.: Ashley is my witness that I have been into your store numerous times since April, 2020 in an attempt to get this lost package claim resolved without success. She said I need to contact UPS Claims and when I do, UPS Claims indicates that they sent your store an email indicating that this claim has been paid or otherwise resolved. Someone is lying somewhere and in turn, I have not be able to claim the $200 I am rightfully entitled to as insurance, because this package was NEVER RECEIVED BY THE PERSON TO WHOM IT WAS GOING. Somewhere in the middle of this jacket's journey it ended up in Louisiana or somewhere before allegedly getting to Florida! Went to this store on Saturday as they are open until 3PM to get something notarized for my 80 year old mother, drove all the way from LA....got here before closing with about 10 or 15 minutes to spare and was waiting in line with her.....we were talking about the document being notarized....the worker said at 3:01 I am not closing the store and I have to be somewhere so I can't notarize anything....huh/what??? So we have been waiting in line, and now you say you have to go at 3:01 even though we were there well before that. Terrible service. If you are going to be open then take care of the customers in your store, or close and lock the door. Because of him, I now have to make another trip out to Thousand Oaks from LA. If there were negative ratings, I would give them a minus 5. Seriously, you should not go to this UPS Affiliate under any circumstances. They are not honest. They will automatically accuse the customer of being wrong. You will not be able to recover your costs if UPS fails to deliver your package. You should go to a UPS store, they will reimburse you if the error is UPS. We shipped a package to a UPS Access Point Locker. UPS failed to deliver the package. UPS headquarter admitted that it was an error on their delivery. This affiliate told us that we would have to get reimbursed from UPS Corporate. We escalated to UPS Billing Supervisor at Corporate and got the UPS affiliate manager on the phone with UPS Billing Supervisor. UPS Supervisor recognized that we were not going to get satisfaction and finally said, I will take care of this. UPS Corporate is paying for the package to be shipped. We actually had this affiliate claim that they shipped a package, only to have one of their employees call us after 6 months and tell us that the package was put on a shelf and never mailed. Had a horrible experience a few months back with sending some clothing as a birthday gift. Clerk helped me select a box and asked me if I wanted her to package it for me. I thought that was nice so she went in the back and came out with box all taped and ready. When I asked her where the tags were for the clothing she said she left them on. WTH? When I started to unwrap the box to take them off myself, I discovered the clothing was crumpled up & shoved in the box!!! Not what I expected at all and I re-wrapped the clothing and re- taped box myself. Clerk had horrible attitude and was very rude and unfriendly. I took a package to the UPS store in Thousand Oaks, CA https://thousandoaks-ca-0884.theupsstorelocal.com/ on July 28 with school supplies for children in Mexico, charging $122.73 on my Bank of America credit card. Employees helped me prepare the package and assured me it would arrive within the week. After a week it had not arrived so I called the UPS store and the manager, Cassie, told me it was stuck in customs. After several phone calls, she told me the problem was that it lacked a customs form. She said she resolved the issue and she mailed it a second time. It was returned again. She told me by phone she spoke to both US and Mexican customs and assured me that THIS time it would be sent. It was returned again. This time she said the problem was the items inside that were made in China. None of these issues (customs forms, items made in China) were mentioned when I asked for UPS Store employees' assistance in mailing it. I decided to cancel the shipment and ask for a refund for the $122.73. The charge was refunded. Last week, October 17th, I received a letter that the UPS Store owner, Ibrahim Bakhtiari, disputed my request for a refund, citing that it was returned for 'mispackaging'. The package NEVER successfully made it to the children in Mexico. It is still in California. But Mr. Bakhtiari wants his $122.73 because his UPS company was charged. My credit card has been recharged. The mixture of incompetence and greed demonstrated by Mr. Ibrahim Bakhtiari and his UPS Store staff is astounding. He is a man that owns at least two UPS Stores. I am a teacher who tried to send school supplies to children in Mexico. I lost money, they never got their supplies. SHAME ON YOU Mr. Bakhtiari! read more
