Very cute place! Celebrated my birthday here last night with friends. Yes, the games are free with the exception of Skeeball, which is $1/game. Besides that, we played the mini NES and Sega consoles, "Medium" Jenga and Connect 4 (they're not quite giant) and shuffleboard. All were free. We had reservations for yesterday's Friday night and there weren't any tables available when I got there, but I gently reminded the host of my reservation and he immediately accommodated my party. :) I wouldn't really call this place a "restaurant". Sure, Route 66 Smokehouse is supposed to be on the bottom floor, but it's really more of a bar (with a few games down there as well). The upstairs is quite spacious, and also has a bar up there as well, though it was a really busy night and the bartender had to keep leaving to help downstairs. He seemed a bit overworked, but still managed to do his best and be very attentive to our questions and requests. While the Sucker Punch drink is expensive at $16, I recommend it because it's pretty big for an adult capri sun. Also, while it says "homemade fruit punch", don't expect it to be too fruity. I got the Cracklin Pork Clouds and I question how "homemade" they really are. But get the BASKET OF BISCUITS. Is it actually NOT a basket with just 2 giant biscuits? Yes. However, THOSE were most definitely homemade, fluffy, slightly outer crisp with soft cloudy inside and the accompanying BUTTAH, MMMMM. What's interesting is that our reservation was for 7. By about 8:30 the upstairs place started clearing out; it was literally just my friends and maybe 2-3 other groups. On a Friday night! Then, when it was time to go by around 9:30ish pm, when we went downstairs to leave, the DOWNSTAIRS area was PACKED. Wall to wall bodies. It was almost bizarre how empty the upstairs was, but how packed the downstairs was. But lucky for us because we got to play so much, unhindered. I would come back and try the cool chicken sandwich. Only reason I didn't get it this time around is because I wasn't that hungry. read more

It is nestled in a bustling side street in FiDi. We came on a slower Saturday afternoon and enjoyed being the only people in the game room. After ordering our drinks downstairs, we headed upstairs. I was able to relive some cherished childhood memories playing giant jenga, giant connect four, skee ball ($5 for 5 games), battleship, and guess who. There was also a free photo booth, ping pong, and darts. There was also a great selection of beers to choose from. I could see this as a great place to bring a date or have a fun time with friends. Came here in the middle of the week an we just missed a hidden comedy show. The bar was super spacious and had a lot of games. From ping pong to basketball to shuffle board to photo booth to video games, this place has it all. The drinks were super strong too which I liked. This place is absolutely wonderful. I threw a baby shower here for my sister and her husband. Everyone had a GREAT time. We were allowed to play our own playlist, I was able to decorate, and we also brought in our own deserts. This was a co-Ed baby shower so the games and the overall space were perfect. The food was delicious. My sister and quite a few of our friends our vegan. Marina was great in helping me select vegan options for the guests and everyone was happy. I must also say that the Mac and cheese was a crowd favorite (for the non-vegan folks lol). People thought it was homemade and that is saying something. I've been coming to Stone Street for a while, as it offers a good choice of bars and it's easy to bounce around. The Upstairs gives me the best reason to stay on the strip, the key to my heart, GAMES! Ping Pong, Giant Jenga, Giant Connect Four, Pinball Machines, Darts, Fooseball, Uno and other card games are great, but the best game here by far is the Nintendo NES! They have the mini NES with a bunch of games and two controllers connected to a TV just sitting there for anyone to pick up and play. Are you kidding me? I can play Zelda, Mario, Tecmo Bowl, Double Dragon, Pac-Man, and frigging Excitebike right here?!! So now we're just getting buckets of beers and hanging out by the NES after work. I have a saved game for Zelda II that I'm working on, and over time, I will eventually beat the game. read more

My date & played connect four, darts, beer pong upstairs. We came down later a burger & shots. If you feeling the game vibes this is the ideal spot. We came on a Friday night and we didn't have to wait for a table which was awesome! I ordered the bison burger and it was delicious. The best part is the game room that is located upstairs where they have a large size connect 4.. ping pong table.. jenga.. and many more games for you to explore. Nice spot on stone street financial district in Manhattan. Have serval games good for groups or a date night for two. Only thing if u upstairs u have to go down to get drink when I visited. I had my boyfriend's 25th birthday upstairs at Route 66 and it was the perfect spot!! We did a 3 hour open bar with food platters for about 50 people. There was ping pong, shuffleboard, skeeball, pac man, and more. The space was big with a lot of tables and chairs. The manager Sarah was amazing. She answered my emails quickly and efficiently and was so helpful and accommodating. The drinks were great and the portions of food were bigger than I expected so everyone was able to get seconds. For everything we got you can't beat that price in NYC. Would recommend this place to anyone for any occasion. read more

Thank you to The Upstairs at 66 for hosting my 30th Birthday party!!! I was able to host a private event on April 20th for 2 hours 7-9pm. It was a great turn out and with the help of Sarah and staff it was a great night. Sarah was very helpful from start to end of coordinating this event. This is a hidden gem! I was barhopping on Stone Street during happy hour today and would have never known about this place if I hadn't seen chalkboards saying to check out the upstairs game room. It's inside of another restaurant so you have to go in and find the staircase and go up. There's everything up there, ping pong, shuffleboard, even classic Nintendo! They have happy hour so we ordered drinks downstairs and then went up. I was with a group but I would even recommend bringing a date to make it more fun than just having drinks anywhere else on the street. To top it off, the bartender downstairs was really nice and kept coming up to see if we needed anything. She recommended food but we already had dinner reservations- will be back to check that out! read more

A close friend of mine heard about The Upstairs and suggested we check it out one night. I'm so glad we did because we had an absolute blast. For a friday night, it was pretty empty, so we grabbed some decently priced drinks from the bar and headed upstairs where there was a plethora of free games to be played. From giant connect four, to foosball, nintendo, and ping pong, there was plenty to keep us occupied. For a mostly free arcade (pinball was coin-operated), I can't complain in the least. Would definitely go back for a chill night out! read more

Javier the bartender is amazing!!!!! We had a huge group for a party and he was super attentive and so sweet. The whole bar itself is really big, and has every game you can ask for-darts, football , corn joke, shuffleboard and a bunch of board games including giant jenga. The drinks are well priced and they have a lot of food here too. The only down side is I tried to make a group reservation , and no one ever got back to me. read more

Stopped by here when they were 20 to close (we didn't know we swear!) Games were fun, bartender was super nice, and the place was spacious. Prices weren't crazy. Loved the casual atmosphere of a few rounds of pinball then ping pong. Will def be back on many a random weeknight pop in. read more

Hosted hubby's birthday here on a Saturday night and we had so much fun! Came around 8:30 and it was relatively quiet until 10:30/11ish before it started filling up. This place is freaking amazing! We are from California and were looking for a cool spot to hang out at after we saw the Statue of Liberty. My husband found this spot on yelp so we decided to try it out. Everyone working was really nice and Sara one of the managers gave us a lot of personal attention and introduced us to the upstairs game area speak easy! It was so much fun. Woot! So much fun! I came here with some of my associates to play some games after a day of meetings. One of them is a huge Nintendo nerd and we had a blast playing Super Mario and the one with the bikes. I have to admit that I lost on all of them. However, I've won our table tennis "tournament". Top stuff. I still suck at foosball but we have agreed for a rematch next time we're around. The food in the place is above average. The grill is pretty good. I had some Texas beef ribs and they were as good as they can get - fresh, juicy, perfectly grilled. Went pretty good with a couple of beers after all that gaming. The others had burgers and no one complained. The atmosphere is calm, casual and relaxed, perfectly fitting the characteristics of a fun place, where you go to quietly blow some steam and have a relaxing evening. The staff is polite and quick. One of my friends asked a waitress to come play table tennis with us, that cheeky devil, hahaha. Oh, and I also liked the Beer Tower. We've "climbed" a couple of them and had a great time in general. This is an incredible find for the financial district. There's nothing quite like this in the area. Tons of nostalgic games...and oversized! I've always loved the food in their downstairs venue and this now makes it even more exciting. Highly recommend to all in the area. read more
