Whenever I'm in Charleston I head to the Pier at Folly! Each time I'm there I partake in the Fried Shrimp platter and a frozen margarita. There's indoor and outdoor seating as well live music during evening hours. My server Gail was awesome and very attentive!

This restaurant is a must try if you are looking for flavorful food scenic views. All of the food was absolutely delicious! I am very excited to go back and try other options on the menu. The service was great, server was attentive. Great non-alcoholic options and live music was great for a girls night out. I highly recommended sitting outside so you have views of the pier and ocean. There is an outdoor bar as well as an indoor bar. There are accessible restrooms available inside. Great atmosphere and atmosphere overall!

We stopped by the tiki bar to get some cocktails for the pier. The mai tai was delicious! The food looked good too but we had just eaten. Highly recommend a go drink for walking the pier! There is also plenty of seating on the pier to sit and enjoy

We came here for lunch when we were visiting our son in Charleston. Good food with a great view!

Pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food was and service was great. All of our dishes I would order again. So nice sitting on the pier.

Food was absolutely great and everything came out very fast. Our server Sarah was also very kind and attentive!

Beautiful atmosphere from ocean views to a live band. The service was great and timely. Tiki bar if you're just having drinks. The blackened fish sandwich was good. Located at the start of the Pier on Folly Beach.

The crowds were behaving themselves, the breeze was cooperative, and the smiles behind the bar were as steady as the tide. Service? Quick. Attitude? Cheerful. Decor? Pure beach--with just enough kitsch to remind you that you're exactly where you're supposed to be. I especially loved the AI-generated "Old Folly Beach" photos. They had that sepia-toned, barefoot-in-the-sand charm that makes you nostalgic for a time you probably never lived through. Clever. Fun. Conversation starters. The food came out hot and well prepared--no excuses, no shortcuts, no "it's beach food, what did you expect?" nonsense. Just solid plates done right. Sometimes the best meals aren't about linen napkins or complicated sauces. Sometimes it's quick service, honest cooking, a few laughs, and the Atlantic doing background vocals.

The bar opened at 10am. Ordered drinks... our bar drinks arrived just before our food did. No, not very busy at this time of morning. We sat outside before the heat of the day forced us all inside. 2 other tables, one leaving moments after we arrived. The view was amazing though. My eggs were ordered as over medium- they were fried hard. I like a little seepage of yolk. No rock solid, but the wait... I was afraid to send my order back.

Appetizers/shareable- We shared the calamari and French fries. The calamari was good! It came with an aïoli dipping sauce that was delicious. The French fries were comparable to any other restaurant fries. Nothing special. Main entrees- we each had a bite off of each other's entree/shareable to sample. Swordfish sandwich- flavor was there, battering was thin coated and gave off a nice crunch. Ceviche tacos- had a nutty Asian flavor to it. Came in 3 little bite sized taco like chips. Miss Paula grilled shrimp- shrimp in a curry Thai like oil served with 5 toasted baguette slivers. If you're into Thai red curry, I'd recommend this. They advertised the shrimp is locally caught. Oysters- nothing too exciting. Kitchen service- The reason behind the 0/5 for the kitchen service is because they messed up our order so many times. They missed two of our orders and didn't make them until we said something. Instead of getting our side salads we kept getting fries. We got double of things we hadn't ordered. From the moment the first person got served their food, there was a 40 minute gap in between the serving of the last person. Our foods weren't served together so we had some girls having to wait to eat. Even then, our last girl got her food to go because we also had another rsvp to be at. We spent about 3 hours on the rooftop total when they were so adamant on having a reservation. We expected to be here for only an hour so we could spend more time exploring downtown but couldn't do that due to the speed of the kitchen service.

Easy and low-key, just something to keep in mind if you're expecting full service. I will say... people love to call places "tiki bars" these days just because there's a tent and a couple tropical drinks--this didn't really give true tiki vibes. That said, it's still a really nice place to hang out. The staff was friendly, and big bonus--it's pet friendly, which we always appreciate. The view is really pretty, and they had live music going which added to the atmosphere. We shared the seared tuna power bowl--it was good flavor-wise, but a little skimpy on the tuna and rice for the price. Overall, a solid, relaxed spot to grab a drink, enjoy the view, and hang out--especially if you have your dog with you.

Surprisingly, the place…read morewas nearly empty--we only noticed about six other guests inside--but even with such a small crowd, the service was extremely slow. Our server seemed confused throughout the visit, and getting our orders placed and delivered took much longer than expected. We ordered several appetizers and drinks. The appetizers were okay, but the portions were quite small for the price. The cocktails were beautifully presented, but unfortunately, their appearance was the most impressive thing about them. They were just okay in flavor and didn't seem strong at all. The tiki décor was genuinely neat, though, and the merchandise selection was cool enough that we purchased one of their tiki mugs as a souvenir. Sadly, the interesting atmosphere and attractive drink presentations couldn't overcome the poor service, lackluster cocktails, and overpriced food. Overall, it was a pretty big disappointment, and I don't see us returning. However, the evening did provide one final and unexpected treasure. As we left, we encountered a mariachi band performing hits from the '80s, '90s, and today. I requested "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," but they solemnly informed me that the song could not be performed without a tuba. Instead, they launched into NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye," which felt less like a musical request and more like the universe formally dismissing us from the premises. The tiki bar may have been a letdown, but being serenaded out of Savannah by a mariachi boy band almost made the evening worthwhile.

The outdoor seating is a nice touch, with a mix of open-air tables and some covered spots at the bar for shade. The drink menu is decent, with plenty of tropical cocktails to choose from, though the beer selection is surprisingly limited for a place that stays this busy. Most of the service seems to run through the bar, and while the bar staff was friendly, upbeat, and doing their best despite being absolutely swamped, the table service was pretty spotty. The food menu is just okay--nothing terrible, nothing standout. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich at lunch, and unfortunately it did not sit well with me at all. It upset my digestive system enough to derail one of my vacation days, which definitely colored the experience. One thing that stood out was the presence of armed security guards. Not necessarily a problem, but it does create a different atmosphere than you might expect from a casual beachfront bar. Many reviews have mentioned the parking. We stayed at the hotel, so it wasn't an issue for us but somebody sitting next to me at the bar was ejected by management for something related to parking. I'm not sure of the exact details because I couldn't hear the conversation well, but it seemed to have to do with either buying or selling a parking pass with someone else. There was another incident where an unruly patron had the police called on them after engaging with one of the aforementioned security guards. That said, these seemed to be atypical of the total experience. Overall, it's an entertaining spot for drinks and music, but the unpleasant food experience land it at a middle-of-the-road three stars for me.

The cocktails came in really cool tiki mugs that made for excellent pictures, and many of the mugs are available for purchase if you want to take home a little souvenir. The servers were also fantastic--friendly, attentive, and quick to keep the drinks flowing. The only real downside is that the décor is fairly light on the tiki atmosphere, and the experience could have used some proper tiki music in the background. Still, the drinks and service more than made up for it. There was also a rather unusual incident during our visit. A man burst into the bar wearing a giant bucket hat with a buckle and began demanding that everyone be arrested for witchcraft. He kept shouting, "You're all witches!" despite our repeated assurances that we were simply enjoying cocktails. I told him to calm down, but he refused.
