We drove all the way from Carmel Valley to the well cafe since we are coffee geeks. The outside of the cafe was cute, but the inside was messy. I asked for a cortado, but the barista didn't know what a cortado was. To me, the menu was way too big, too much to choose from. It is also pretty overpriced. We spent $20 for a smoothie, small cappuccino, and a can of soda. The cappuccino was so so..the smoothie was bad. It was some mango with pieces of ice and lots of syrup. It tasted very artificial. I thought to get a cup of water, it was self-service but it didn't look fresh, no ice and lukewarm. So sad, the quality and also the service could be way better. Gosh we just love Alpine Coffee Roasters and the Well Cafe. We eat here at least once a week. Everything is so good and you will not be disappointed whatsoever. Their avocado toast with bacon and their Turkey pesto panini are our favorites. Their smoothies and refreshers are so tasty and their coffee hits the spot every time way better than Starbucks and you're supporting local. read more

One of my fav little coffee shops in alpine! I always stop here whenever I want a quick bite and a good drink.

I guess I'm old fashion, I find it odd I'm expected to tip when I order at the counter. Not only that but I'm expected to tip before I even get to try the food. The panini was good but it should have come with some potato salad or something. It left me wanting. I left hungry. read more

So we stopped here on our way home from San Diego just because we missed the turnoff for the other guys coffee place . Best find ever! My husband is obsessed with the espresso. Such a cute and cozy aesthetic. Love their patio and the inside seating is perfect for studying. The acai bowls are good and not too pricey; the fruit is always fresh though the acai is the typical 'acai sorbet' that you can find at almost any corner store in town and I'd love a more original acai bowl, especially a sugar free kind. Their wraps are good too and i really appreciate how they have a vegan wrap! I wish the wraps were a little thicker or had a small side with them for their price. Oatmeal is super cheap but beware the bowl is soooo tiny, it's not a full meal but would go good with coffee! They have a rewards program which is cool. read more

Great place! Very welcoming and inviting. Feels like home and a place you want to take your sandals off and stay awhile. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and they had a duo playing live music on the patio. Great atmosphere. They have quite a few selections for breakfast and lunch. I had the Acai Bowl. It was delicious and packed with blueberries, strawberries, bananas, granola, chia seeds and fresh shaved coconut. I put honey on top. I also had the Blue Lady iced tea. I really enjoyed eating at this place and their food has never disappointed me. However, I've been extremely let down the past few times I've gotten food and a drink there. The workers rarely wear their masks properly and I even saw someone near the kitchen with no mask at all. I've introduced this place to many of my friends who live in Alpine and Lakeside and they loved it. I'll have to tell them about them not wearing their masks, though. As much as my friends and I want to support small businesses, our health comes first. Not sure if we'll be returning. Very disappointed. read more

The acai bowls are good and the tea as well. I wasn't a fan of the type of coffee I received the kids seemed to be confused as to how to make it and it had a burnt taste to it. The owners are lovely people and I will try the drink again to see if there is any improvement. With all that said I do love this little cozy and welcoming coffee shop. read more

I walked in, and 2 out of the 3 girls noticed me, and didn't say anything. No welcome in or welcome. I stood there for 1 min until I was helped and the girl that helped me was NOT nice at all! She was rude and acted like she did NOT want to help me. When I had told her why I was there, which was to get a bag of coffee, she was not helpful, and again, seemed like she did not want to help me at all. You know how there are people who are willing to help and be helpful and are nice about it all. SHE WAS NOT THAT AT ALL. She also was not paying attention to my transaction, she almost charged me for something I didn't even touch. And didn't even ask me if what she was about to change me was mine, or went over my transaction. And when she gave me the total, I had asked told her that I didn't bring or Touch the bag. And at the end of the whole transition, she she just asked me if I wanted my receipt, and I had said "yes please", and she gave it to me and turned around. This was my first time there and I experienced THE WORST Service! She didn't have a name tag on so I looked at the receipt and had verified with her, her name she said that was her name. I love this place. Great food and smoothies. What is a bit frustrating is when I am working and on a time limit, I call to put in an order and no one ever answers. I stop by and literally no customers are inside. I watched them hand the phone off and say "your turn", and no one answered. 9 times out-of 10 I call, no one answers. When I am working and having to stop by and wait for 10 minutes for my food it makes me late to work. Hence why I call in the order. This has happened multiple times. We have brought it up to them and all we get is them smiling and they laugh about it. Not ok, not professional. read more

Some church goers recommended the business so I go but it was okay. I think the best thing is the steak and berry salad. So originally I was happy with the little restaurant. Its not bad but I notice things are going down here. I left really mad because I know people know how to serve food the proper way but if they don't care they don't care. It has been two times since I ordered an Acai bowl. They take it out the freezer and its rock hard and put the toppings on it. It was so hard I could not get one bite of sherbet. I don't understand why you can't put it in the microwave for 30 seconds or hot water. I could not eat the sherbet at all. I ate the toppings but I was not able to get one bite of sherbet. I am so mad about this because if you serve something you should no how it's received in your restaurant. I used to other places that have a lot toppings. I was so hurt because it doesn't seem that Christian to serve trash if you are representing yourself as such. I am not happy right now. I am so furious I threw it out my car. I spent 12usd on trash. I had to buy a second breakfast to make up for the lack thereof. read more
