The Well has been open for three years and it still might be one of Stockton's best kept secrets. It is a public benefit non-profit that focuses on teaching and mentoring young adults in vocational education. As a patron, it's a fabulous boutique coffeehouse with hipster vibes and unassuming food that packs a flavorful punch. The menu is brunch-like with offerings such as chicken & waffles, a breakfast bowl, and a breakfast burger. They're all good, including the fries (perfectly cripsy!). The dining room is casual and you can seat yourself. On the walls are frames of old newspapers from historically important days that are interesting to read. If you're staying a while with your laptop there is wifi. If the weather is good, there are a few outdoor tables with umbrellas in the front. If you're into local small batch coffees, they sell their own bags, and you can even see the roastery inside. We're definitely coming back for the food, coffee, and the vibessss. read more

The Vanilla Chai tea is the best I've had, the food is good, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I've been to many coffee shops around town, and this one stands out overall. I would give it 5 stars, but it's always freezing inside (hence the photo on the patio!) A few more panini options would be great too. Made my coffee shop dreams come true on a Monday morning. As a Stockton local I can't believe I'm barely visiting this place for the first time. In my opinion, this is the best coffee shop in town. My iced White Mocha was tasty and the espresso itself has great flavor. I was also given a free chocolate chip cookie which was perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Last but not least, a moment of silence for the chicken pesto sando. Perfectly crafted in between two toasted sourdough slices was juicy chicken, pesto, pickled red onions, a fried egg, sun dried tomatoes, and spinach . Wow. Vegan Burger Patty was undercooked and buns smelled like perfume. I hate when my food or anything my food or drink is served in smells like perfume or lotion or some foreign fragrance. Yuck! I wanted to like this so bad and I wanted to support this spots community efforts and business. Im vegan so I make my own burgers and sauce. Out of good faith I wanted to try the burgers and buns just because the baked goods we came for was out. The burgers was a sore disappointment. It reminded me of why I stick to my own food prepped at home.They should just stick to regular patties and make a house sauce that taste better than the bottled thousand island / teriyaki sauce they served. This little gem is a must try! It's very welcoming if you would like to just relax and have some coffee or grab some lunch with someone for work. When I walked in the staff were very friendly and greeted me. I gave my name and was told my food was almost ready and it would be right out. I ordered the Stocktonian burger and added avocado and I must say this is one of the best burgers I have had in a while. It was cooked perfectly with just a little pink inside and seasoned just right. The seasoned fry's are very good. I couldn't resist to open the box and grab a few on the way back to work. I signed up as a rewards member and I can't wait to visit again and try one of the salads. If you're reading this you need to try The Well. Raegan has a great place here and I wish her the best. We had the SB melt on sourdough instead of a bagel and added egg to it. This is an 11 out of 10! Seriously that good and a must try! We also had the Chicken Pesto Sando. This was good but not gray. I'm giving it 7.5 out of 10. I personally wouldn't get it again but only because the SB Melt was out of this world good and that's what I would get EVERY time I come back here! Best cafe in Stockton hands down. Tons of space, comfortable seating, great lighting, and they have such an inviting group of employees. This spot is definitely nice for when you need to crank out your studies AND eat amazing food. Highly recommend anything on the menu. They offer big portions that can be enough for two meals. This is my go-to spot in Stockton for a wfh session. Plenty of outlets, free WiFi, and many tables and seats. Tables range from small to big, so you can come alone, as a pair, or even bring your entire study group here to have a whole study sesh. Busy hours are typically 11am-1pm, but by around 2pm, you'll most likely have a better chance at grabbing a table/seat then. I don't think I am a fan of their matcha but I always get an iced dirty chai, it's never failed me here. Service is always super kind and incredibly friendly. I had an appointment in Stockton on a Saturday and wanted to grab coffee from a new spot beforehand. The Well has been open for about a year now and is located really close to downtown. They have a pretty good sized parking lot and the building is a lot bigger than you'd expect for a coffee house. Inside there are different areas with seating and when I visited, there were a lot of people hanging out and having meetings. Since it was my first time visiting I asked for recommendations and ended up ordering a raspberry mocha for myself and then an iced peppermint white mocha for my friend (they're her favorite). Both drinks were delicious, though they forgot to add peppermint to my friends drink. They also had the drinks done pretty quickly and I was early to my appointment which was great. This is definitely a solid spot near downtown Stockton for a coffee and it looks like they have some great food options as well. read more

The vibe here is incredible. I come here often to study and to come on coffee dates. There is plenty of seating, plugs, and the background noise of people chattering and coffee being made is really nice. Service is incredible and the workers are really really nice. However, I hesitate to say this but the coffee and matcha is not the best. I don't really know how to best put it but I know that everything is homemade by the workers which makes up for whatever it is lacking in. The food selection sometimes is lacking for me but like I said, I still come back for the vibes and the friendly workers. It can also get really cold in there too. Like REALLY cold. It's nice for an hour or two on a hot day but after that, I've just about had enough and have to relocate to somewhere else to get work done since I'm freezing. If you haven't been to The Well yet, run don't walk! This new coffee spot is INCREDIBLE and it is exactly the type of place that Stockton desperately needs! We love EVERYTHING about it-the drinks and food, the spacious yet cozy atmosphere and the amazing staff. They are so friendly and welcoming. I love that after only a few visits they have already come to recognize us. That speaks highly to the type of service they are trying to provide! We have tried several items and so far the standouts have been Mama's Sugar toast, the Trendy toast and pizza bagel. We also really love their lemonade and the cappuccino I had was probably the best I've ever had. Their Eatery menu (burgers, salads) is only offered M-F so I'm looking forward to stopping by during the week for some lunch. The Well is great! I couldn't wait until this coffee house opened. It's located in a spacious, Spanish style building with ample space inside and out on their front patio. They serve delicious pastries and an ever changing food menu. While your there you can play a game of checkers or chess with the wooden boards they provide. I have just started trying the coffee bar menu but I've tried everything on the lunch menu except the salads (their next). They have the BEST Fries! I've gone just for fries! The staff remember you and are always friendly and greet you. You can sit inside or outside and there's so many cozy little chairs, couches or tables. Ok now my favorite dish so far is The Fancy Fig Pizza!!! It has bacon, green apples, figs, pesto sauce on thin crust and drizzled with this delicious balsamic dressing topped with arugula and feta!
