Great customer service, great food, great vibes, and tons of space. This is a huge location with friendly and attentive staff who are always checking on you, even while you're playing pool, which I really appreciate. One of the biggest things for me is the space. When you're playing pool, you actually have room to move around unlike a lot of bars where you feel cramped. I also like that they have full size pool tables. Since I'm a bit taller, it just makes the whole experience of playing pool that much better. There's regular events and even a pool league on Tuesday nights, so there's always something going on. If you are not familiar with Garden Grove, this place is definitely a hidden gem. The food is top notch, but honestly the ambiance is what sets it apart from your average billiards bar. It is extremely clean, which is important to me, and there's plenty of space between you and other people whether you are playing pool or sitting down to eat. It really does feel like a playground for adults in the best way. I also like that it is family friendly. There's large tables that are perfect for crab boils and similar meals where they lay down wax paper and everyone can sit together and enjoy. When I was there, there was a group of kids celebrating a birthday, and at the same time there were adults playing pool and hanging out. The place is so big that it almost feels like there's separate areas for kids and adults, but it is all in one space and you do not even notice each other. That's how spacious it is. I have been here on Sunday afternoons, Tuesday evenings, and Friday nights, and it is always busy with great energy. The music selection is great too. And this next part is insane to me since I'm a huge fan of famous pool players. The legendary GOAT Efren Reyes is going to be there on April 26th playing pool and interacting with fans. I saw the flyer on the wall and immediately grabbed VIP tickets. The wharf is located in a cute little downtown (Main Street) we went when there was a car show going on and that was pretty nice. The restaurant was relatively empty when we went so we were seated immediately. There was only one man running around taking everyone order, but he was nice and attentive. The restaurant is spacious, there are also many pool tables on another half of the restaurant and bar seating. Now, the real deal is food. I have pretty high standard for seafood boil, and this did not meet that standard at all. However, it's all up to preference. Cajun seafood boil (we got crawfish): very bland. You can barely taste the Cajun. I like the punch of the savoriness of Cajun but this has barely any coating on the crawfish. It's not juicy, it's not marinated. The crawfish meat is also pretty bad, tasted close to spoil for some. I understand it's not seafood season, but I've been to other seafood places that can maintain their seafood quality even during off season, this is just not one of the places. Crawfish Mac n cheese: very cheesy, duh. But that's really it to it, not much flavor profile. Just cheese, Mac, and crawfish. And back with the dead dry crawfish that made it off putting. The Mac n cheese itself is pretty decent though, but don't expect a flavor explosion when eating it. Think of it like a dish for kids. Sweet potato fries: jyst my go to sides with my crawfish. Seafood was NOT GOOD, but the fries and burger were delicious! - 2 lbs crawfish combo wild style. There was no flavor. Just spicy. Everything was so bland. Crawfish was likely frozen and not fresh. Even dipping in the wild style sauce added no flavor. Bummer. - Fish and chips - only the fries was good. The fish was rubbery and had a smell. - Grilled Bloody Clams - overcooked and shriveled. My husband had these a few weeks prior and was raving about them so I think we came on an off night. - Crawfish Mac & Cheese - decent but needed more salt. We could've done without the crawfish. - Clam Chowder (New Brunswick) - it was ok. I haven't been here in a while, but I when I walked past it a month ago, I did notice the change with the pool tables. I'm not sure if they switch management or not, but this isn't the same as I remembered. It seems like they half rebranded to be more of a bar vibe. Their menu still seems about the same as before, and I do appreciate the really nice happy hour menu. I got 1lb of crawfish, wild style, at the spiciest level, a side of lemon pepper fries, and the crawfish mac n cheese. The crawfish sauce is noticeably different from before. It isn't as flavorful and for it being the spiciest and wild style, it lacked any spice. The mac and cheese was a good sized portion and overall tasted alright. Fries were your standard thick cut fries. There was only one server and one bartender there that night, but we still got great service. While I used to love this place for their seafood boil, I think it's time to find a favorite spot. read more

Great happy hour and great service!!! I've always seen this spot but never tried until recently on a Thursday, when they had happy hour all day luckily. They had $2.50 oysters with a bunch of other apps as options + drinks. They also have a pool table so the place can be a great spot for groups! Tbh I'm a sucker for a good happy hour and I def think this place has great deals + food. I believe my credit card also provided reward points if I dine here which is a nice + haha. Update: New Management in 2024? This restaurant unfortunately changed management sometime this year I think and is now half filled with billiard tables as "home of the pool sharks" with some menu changes. The place is more of a sports bar now and with bright lighting so no longer has a rustic goth feel. Of note, their cajun seafood quality has drastically gone down. The combo two pounds of Cajun mussels we ordered came out with barely any seasoning and not mixed. The mussels were white and simply looked boiled. We asked the server and she came back from the kitchen with a little plastic cup of separated seasoning saying anymore would have to be charged. I unfortunately didn't take any pictures as I was just trying to get the servers attention. She was the only one tabling so I felt bad for her. It was definitely the kitchen's error and fault. The two stars were for her great service despite being in that situation. It was very disappointing. I won't be coming back. read more

I tried this place out shortly after they opened in the fall of 2023 and thought it had potential. I revisited today and sure enough I was right! They have an extensive menu with choices for everyone, from Cajun seafood to chicken tiki masala nan pizza to specialty burgers. Just too many items to name. In fact that's the only downfall, choosing what great meal to have! They also have a very nice bar that serves standard as well as boutique cocktails and 8 pool tables. Add friendly employees to the list of great attributes! There's a nice neighborhood vibe, it's a great addition to downtown Garden Grove. Fun little spot in downtown Garden Grove, near the Costco. Fairly spacious, we had no problem getting a table immediately on a Sunday afternoon. Lot of pool tables set up, with people bringing their own pool sticks so safe to assume they take it very seriously there. Decor leans hard into the wharf concept, with everything being nautical. The food is a lot of fusion concepts. They had naan pizzas, plenty of Cajun/creole food, and a ton of seafood options. The portions were generous and the food was very tasty. I can tell that thoughtful efforts were put into the decorations to ensure a beautiful ambience for the customers. The food was absolutely delicious. The garlic Cajun edamame was probably the best edamame I've ever had! Juicy and delicious filled with flavor. The No Penny Benny Po Boy sandwich with fried shrimp and Cajun garlic fries were 10 out of 10!!!! I was so impressed with the serving portions! Like wow!!! I've been to this restaurant a handful of times prior to covid and used to love their $1 oysters for happy hour. However, after yesterday's visit, I left so disappointed. I understand now why this restaurant never has a wait and am surprised that they are still in business after all these years. Ambiance: Very spacious and almost divey. FOOD - Cajun Fries 3/5: Somewhat decent seasoning and they serve a decent amount. - Oysters 4/5: Decently sized and they provided us with plenty of lime/lemon, cocktails sauce, horseradish, and tabasco. These were $30 for a dozen, which was a bit odd because I noticed their new happy hour menu offers oysters at $2.50 per, which is basically original pricing. - Number 2 Combo 2/5: These combos used to have set pricing listed on the menu but they changed it to MP. We ordered 2 lbs of crawfish and a 1 lbs of clams with the wild medium sauce. They skimped out on the sauce. There was barely any in the bag, but that may have been a blessing because it was overly sweet. We were excited to see that the crawfishes were jumbo sized but they way overcooked them. They were so dry and tasted like they were frozen - was not fresh at all. So dry that they kept soaking up my salt, pepper, and lime. The clams however were juicy and decently sized. It came with cocktail sauce, horse radish, lemon, and lime. It was $2.50 a piece. It was so good we ordered them twice. Sharks special house wings- 4.5/5: These were really good. It tasted like an Asian stir fry. The sauce was very sweet and had a very mild spicy kick. White tea fun shot- 3.75/5: This one tasted coconuty and like the Malibu alcohol. It was the best of the three fun shots I tried. Mexican candy fun shot- 3/5: Tastes like a sweet watermelon gummy candy especially with the tajin on top.
