Been coming here for over 2 decades and it's still my favorite seafood boil spot. It's always busy so if you can get on the list before arriving then that's ideal. Music is always blasting with all around good vibes. Servers are quick and attentive. I always get a pound of shrimp, mild, the whole shebang. Here and there i would get some crawfish and oysters. It's always so good and i will continue to come!

Wait time wasn't too bad for a weekday night (~30 mins) + friendly service + vibrant interior! We ordered the fried calamari basket which I recommend as they were super yummy and 1lb shrimp + 1lb crawfish + potatoes/sausages with the whole shabang sauce. Although not quite good as the first time I had it, I still liked it!

Crab fries are a must get!! The garlic aioli sauce is super addictive

Came here on a Thursday night at 8 with a party of 5 and it was packed! Definitely join the Yelp waitlist ahead of time, that's a life saver Highly recommend the LIVE crawfish - huge difference in aroma, flavor, and texture from the original. The crab fries are also a must get, it's like the "surf" version of carne asada fries. Yum Pro tip - get some rice to pair with the leftover sauce from the seafood boil - don't waste that liquid gold!! Fries and 2 pounds of shrimp / crawfish comfortably fed 4.5 as my brother's girlfriend was "not hungry". Classic. Shout out to our server Nate who was very friendly, attentive, and helpful and made our dining experience an easy 5*! Restaurant vibe is very nostalgic and perfectly captures the lost art of family restaurants. Overall, had a fun and delicious night out with loved ones!

Came here after a shorter Disneyland/DCA trip and was very happy with the food and experience. I had been craving boiling crab for a while now and normally I would go to either the Alhambra or the Rosemead locations, but my boyfriend and I decided to eat at this location since it was closest the parks. While doing research I saw in photos that this location offered gloves which was very important in my decision for this location. I am not sure if other locations provide gloves (there is at least one other boiling crab location in Garden Grove). We arrived at around 2:30p and waited for the restaurant to open their doors at 3p. We joined via yelp waitlist on their tablet outside of the restaurant and were notified within 5 minutes that our table was ready. The restaurant was clean and the service was quick and efficient. We got a booth table which was perfect because i love to sit next to my boyfriend while we eat instead of across. Our server was Jimmy and he took our drink and food order immediately. He also gave us tons of lemons which I loved. Our food came out piping hot and delicious. It was my first time trying eggs in my seafood boil and I really enjoyed them. My boyfriend says getting all the add ins: potatoes (3 per order), corn (1 per order), sausage (1 link cut in pieces per order), and the hard boiled eggs (3 per order) is the way to go for maximum flavor and deliciousness. My boyfriend and I were very satisfied with our meals, the price, and the service. We had several staff members come by and check in on our table, as well as surrounding tables throughout the meal. We ended up ordering 2 drinks, 3 lbs of shrimp, 2 orders of potatoes, 3 corn, 1 sausage, 1 order of eggs, and two sides of white rice of less than $100. Will definitely be back, especially since we are magic key holders at Disneyland.

This place gets packed over the weekend and Fridays so plan ahead ! Service is always great. This is my go to place ! I don't trust any other boiling crabs due to bad experience. They're always playing the right music too. Can't wait to come back

You cannot go wrong with Boiling Crab especially this location. Service is always super friendly and attentive, the manager even came by to make sure we were satisfied or needed anything which speaks volumes. One thing about boiling crab is that you will always get fresh food and one of ny personal favorites are their margaritas. Genuinely one of my favorites ever! Not too sweet or sour, just perfect hehe

There are many Boiling Crab locations in the OC area but this is by far our favorite. This Location is definitely one of the bigger boiling crabs offering different seating sections both booth and tables. Which is good considering boiling crab is always packed and there's usually a wait time. Our food never takes long to come out and there's many staff walking around at all times. Food is always a 10/10 and we've never run into any issues. I definitely recommend joining the waitlist ahead of time which is another feature i appreciate. This time around we ordered shrimp and blue crab but i would say the shrimp was the start of the show and i prefer the crawfish over the crab so will go back to order that next time.

First time experience and first time visit and I have to say I was equally surprised and impressed. The "wait" system seemed organized, with a digital tablet outside the door to sign in our party. I was a little disappointed that the Yelp wait list was closed during peak dinner hour though. We walked around the center and sat in the car for the 85-minute wait (!). Once inside, everything proved worth the wait. Our server, Alex, (worked there 7 years) was so helpful and friendly! He kindly and patiently explained the menu, how everything works, what's popular, and offered recommendations of his favorite items. We started with a basket of delicious cajun fries. For the main course, my friend and I each ordered 1 pound of shrimp, and added the corn, sausage, potatoes and hard boiled eggs (the whole sha-bang flavor, mild & medium). I truly didn't know what to expect once the food bag arrived at the table and maybe I should have done my research before going for the first time. It felt barbaric and exhilarating at the same time! Also didn't know how to peel shrimp or that I needed to and accidentally bit into a crunchy outside (oops). Our only regret was not having another person there to order another bag so we could try other things and share, But that only gives us a reason to go back soon. I could have ordered a half pound, but then I wouldn't have had any to take home to enjoy another meal.

This was my first time at The Boiling Crab, and it did not disappoint! The environment is super casual and fun, perfect for rolling up your sleeves and digging in and you need to definitely wear the bib because it can get messy. My cousin and I ordered a pound of shrimp in the bag with The Whole Sha-Bang seasoning (mild spicy) along with corn on the cob and potatoes -- absolutely full of flavor! We also tried the fried Sha-Bang scallops with steamed rice, and they were delicious. Pro tip: definitely order a side of steamed rice because the leftover Sha-Bang sauce poured over it is just too good to waste. Service was attentive, and the food came out fast and hot. Overall, tasty food, great service, and a fun experience. I'd definitely visit again!

Food is honestly so good makes me wanna go back. Service is always a 10/10. Ambiance is pretty chill and great music.

Came in for a birthday party of 10 and they were very patient and accommodating. We had a person who is actually allergic to seafood/shellfish and they were able to special prep their food to make sure there were no cross contamination. The shrimps are always good and the crawfish was on the smaller side but still good. The fries and sweet potato fries are always a hit and a must and great for dipping in the seafood bill sauce. The calamari was nicely done. And I always have to get the chicken wings as well and the seasoning is always on point. The fries catfish tasted well seasoned and fried well. The bang bang shrimp was delicious and a must try. The servers checked up on us more than enough times and did not leave us hanging. They unfortunately do not sing hbd song but still a great time every time here!

    Menu 1 of 3 (February 2026)

Over the years, we've been to The Boiling Crab intermittently but haven't gone recently until yesterday. The menu has changed so much since I last remembered. Everything is a la carte now. There are no combo deals/packages, which I prefer. Our server advised that this was recently taken off the menu and it may come back at a later date. For our meal, we ordered, snow crab legs (2 lbs), crawfish (1 lb), and shrimp (1 lb), along with gumbo. I was especially disappointed in the latter two. The shrimp was not firm and fell apart while peeling away the shell. The gumbo was missing protein (where was the shrimp or sausage?), lacked deep Cajun flavor, and the roux was thin, not a hearty consistency. Side note, although you can't bring in outside drinks/food, I noticed another party bringing in baguettes which apparently they do allow. Seeing this, I rushed over to Banh Mi Che Cali a few stores away and bought one. Dipping that fresh, crispy French bread in the sha-bang sauce with garlic took our meal to another level. Quite honestly that alone tasted better than the shrimp that I immediately regretted not buying more bread. Overall for the amount of money spent, we didn't leave feeling excited to return anytime soon.

What's the "average" cost for lobster tails and "average" cost meal per person? Just trying to gage how much $ I can expect to spend.

Honestly, it depends on how many items you are gonna order when you visit. When I went I paid for my whole family it cost me bout almost $300 bucks. So if you are going with someone you most likely pay like $40 -$50 bucks.

Will they allow you to split the bill on large parties?

Yes, checks may be split up to 4x per party.

Does the whole sha-bang sauce have gluten ingredients (wheat/ flour/ barley/ rye)?

Unlike some places where I leave feeling bloated, I don't get that way here. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, which is harder to find than you'd think. A lot of seafood places tend to overcook shrimp, making it rubbery or soggy, but Fire Crab absolutely nailed it. And the garlic fries? Insane. They definitely do not hold back on the garlic, which I loved. The garlic noodles were also incredibly buttery, flavorful, and downright addictive. What really made our experience stand out was the service. We came with a large group, and the owner was so sweet, attentive, and welcoming throughout our meal. It's clear they genuinely care about their customers and making sure everyone has a great experience. Great food, amazing service, and consistently delicious flavors. The seafood tasted really fresh overall, and the sauce was flavorful, and packed with seasoning. It was a little on the thin side since I like it thick and it couldve used a lot more garlic. We got crawfish, shrimp, and oysters. The crawfish were decently sized -- a few bigger pieces mixed in, but mostly medium-sized. Still, they tasted fresh and the flavor was really good The Kumomato oysters were just okay. I've definitely had fresher, colder oysters elsewhere, but honestly, I don't come to a shrimp and crawfish boil spot expecting right outta the water oyster bar quality. Overall, Fire Crab hits the craving well. Solid 4 stars all around! Service had great attitide!

One of the biggest things for me is the space. When you're playing pool, you actually have room to move around unlike a lot of bars where you feel cramped. I also like that they have full size pool tables. Since I'm a bit taller, it just makes the whole experience of playing pool that much better. There's regular events and even a pool league on Tuesday nights, so there's always something going on. If you are not familiar with Garden Grove, this place is definitely a hidden gem. The food is top notch, but honestly the ambiance is what sets it apart from your average billiards bar. It is extremely clean, which is important to me, and there's plenty of space between you and other people whether you are playing pool or sitting down to eat. It really does feel like a playground for adults in the best way. I also like that it is family friendly. There's large tables that are perfect for crab boils and similar meals where they lay down wax paper and everyone can sit together and enjoy. When I was there, there was a group of kids celebrating a birthday, and at the same time there were adults playing pool and hanging out. The place is so big that it almost feels like there's separate areas for kids and adults, but it is all in one space and you do not even notice each other. That's how spacious it is. I have been here on Sunday afternoons, Tuesday evenings, and Friday nights, and it is always busy with great energy. The music selection is great too. And this next part is insane to me since I'm a huge fan of famous pool players. The legendary GOAT Efren Reyes is going to be there on April 26th playing pool and interacting with fans. I saw the flyer on the wall and immediately grabbed VIP tickets. I'll be lucky enough to say hi to him up close from the VIP section and watch him work his magic in person, which is just unreal to me. Definitely check out the Wharf, you won't regret it.

The restaurant was relatively empty when we went so we were seated immediately. There was only one man running around taking everyone order, but he was nice and attentive. The restaurant is spacious, there are also many pool tables on another half of the restaurant and bar seating. Now, the real deal is food. I have pretty high standard for seafood boil, and this did not meet that standard at all. However, it's all up to preference. Cajun seafood boil (we got crawfish): very bland. You can barely taste the Cajun. I like the punch of the savoriness of Cajun but this has barely any coating on the crawfish. It's not juicy, it's not marinated. The crawfish meat is also pretty bad, tasted close to spoil for some. I understand it's not seafood season, but I've been to other seafood places that can maintain their seafood quality even during off season, this is just not one of the places. Crawfish Mac n cheese: very cheesy, duh. But that's really it to it, not much flavor profile. Just cheese, Mac, and crawfish. And back with the dead dry crawfish that made it off putting. The Mac n cheese itself is pretty decent though, but don't expect a flavor explosion when eating it. Think of it like a dish for kids. Sweet potato fries: jyst my go to sides with my crawfish. It tasted like any sweet potato fries, yay!

My kids like the muscles and devoured them. They have delicious Cajun fries and the chicken tenders were not bad either. The ambience is busy very family friendly. Definitely give this place a try if you haven't! They have multiple locations, but like I said, they all are busy.

The workers are always so nice and attentive despite being SO busy - their waitlist is always at least 1.5-2 hrs. My food has not once been wrong and always comes out quickly. The location itself has lots of parking. The restaurant is always bustling but everyone is vibing - There is multiple TVs playing sports games and everybody is just chatting while eating. I always have a great time and never feel rushed. Coming here on Friday nights is always a vibe but be prepared to wait!

Went here on a whim since they're open until midnight, and I'm so glad we did. The first thing that…read moresurprised me was how affordable everything was compared to other seafood boil spots. You really get a lot for the price, and the shrimp were HUGE. The sauce was packed with flavor -- the perfect balance of spice, butter, and seasoning. Simple, messy, and absolutely delicious. Service was also great. There was only one server working, but he stayed on top of everything and made sure everyone was taken care of. The place itself is a little small, but it actually made the experience feel more cozy, and we got seated right away since it wasn't too busy. Definitely feels like a hidden gem and one of those spots you almost don't want too many people finding out about. Will definitely be back.

With the amount of garlic they put in the sauce it's so well balanced that I couldn't even tell garlic was in there! We got the omg level spicy & it hits you in the back vs the front. Doesn't linger too long & gets you coming back for more. I love that the food came in a party tray and not in a bag. Instead of egg noodle for garlic noodles they used linguine. Soooooooo goood! Felt way less heavier. Overall, the food was delicious, flavorful, not too oily. 10/10 The girl who took our order was super sweet! The place is small and super clean. & I love that they were playing Spanish music! So happy we decided to try this place!
