I attended an event at The Wharf and did not eat off the standard menu, however we had a nice experience and I wanted to leave a review. The event space at the Wharf is really nice, with a beautiful bar, nice open space, and waterfront views. The staff for our event was very attentive and helpful. The food, apps and mains, did not blow me away but every item was executed very well, which is what you want for an event. My 'Azorean chicken' with chorizo stuffing and spicy Portuguese sauce was a nice dish. The deserts were also good. Overall, our event was a success, and we would definitely consider The Wharf again. read more

The service was slow, the food was less than mediocre and I couldn't help but notice a weird tension among the staff. Quite disappointed with their summer hours, you would think a place near the water on a Friday night would be open beyond 10 PM literally at 9:45. The waiter started coming around letting us know that they were going to close everything up at 10 that we needed to leave and literally as we were getting up with our drinks to finish up, they were coming behind us and taking off the cushions off the seating areas that we were in. I couldn't believe it as there were so many other customers there that had to leave, can you just imagine the revenue that they lost? Definitely won't be back! read more

Came here for lunch with family on a weekday. Pretty busy. Did not make a reservation and was still seated immediately. Appetizer: Calamari - pretty good, nice portion for a table of four. Comes with both rings and tentacles. Main Course: Asian Fish Tacos - comes with two pretty large tacos. It's served with large pieces of panko crushed white fish, avocado, shredded lettuce, wakame, sesame, and a side of asian marinade which was really good. Dessert: Chocolate Chip Cannoli Cake - really, really good. Highly recommend this one. The icing between the layers of cake consisted of cannoli filing that was pretty good. The place inside is very pretty. I absolutely loved the view of the water as well. Service was fast and friendly. One thing I really did not like was the tap water that they give you. I understand it's just tap water but it just didn't taste very good and kind've grossed me out. The water was clean and clear, but did not have a good taste to it at all. Well, I think this is one of those places that is popular mainly because of their location. I made reservations for a party of 6 a week in advance for this past Saturday. I requested to be seated at a circular table so we would all be comfortable. Well, when we arrived and were seated, we were taken to the very back of the restaurant. There was a table for 4, and they pulled another table for 2 and pushed it together. It was a booth/table combo so there were 3 chairs and on the other side it was a booth. Me along my the people sitting ion the chairs were crammed together. It was very uncomfortable, especially me as I was crammed between the wall and the person sitting next to me. Our waitress, Stephanie, was definitely one of the more ruder waitresses I've encountered. A couple of times throughout the evening when she would come over to our table, she would raise her voice so she would talk over us. Yes, I get it it's a Saturday night and you're busy. But that is no excuse to make us feel like you are rushing us. And talking over your guests is completely unacceptable! This alone happened on 2 separate interactions. Onto the food. The stuffed quahogs were delicious. I ordered the lobster mac n' cheese. The mac n' cheese itself was ok. The lobster had ZERO taste to it. My wife and I ordered crème brûlée for dessert. We both took our first spoonful, and I don not know what they gave us, but the consistency was more like cottage cheese than crème brûlée. Anyone who eats this knows it's supposed to have a smooth texture. And it was watery too. I called our waitress over to show her, and she says "wow not sure what happened there. Did you want another one or something else?" No apology and definitely did not care that we were potentially served something that looked like if we ate it, it would make us sick! I told her no we are all set. So in closing, no I will not come back here and absolutely, emphatically will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

I was surprised driving from Cranston to pop into the wharf around 2 pm this passed sunday. The bar was some what filled so my wife and I decided to sit at the islands across from the Bar. Its still a great view. We waited and waited and waited watching servers run past us. When I questioned the hostesses she said she wasn't sure who handles the islands. I said we only wanted a couple of drinks and apps to relax on a sunday. We were told the island is only for people waiting for a table and no apps can be served. A great location in downtown Warren with amazing water views. We grabbed a tall table by the windows for lunch and go to watch the world go by, even in winter! Their draft beer list wasn't extensive (mostly IPAs) but they had a nice bar. We each had a chowder + stuffie special, which was classic RI! Five stars for the rooftop bar, three stars for the restaurant. I love the rooftop and I was so excited to discover it; it is such a great spot in Warren to grab a drink to enjoy a nice drink by the water and it's perfectly situated to catch the sun set if you go in the evening. I've eaten here before and while the food is fine, I find it to be seriously over priced for what it is - just average. There are many many other seaside seafood restaurants in the state and in Bristol/Warren alone where you can get way better food at a better price. The Wharf is a wonderful place to spend time with family and friends! The new renovations look AMAZING. The view of the water and sailboats and yachts passing by is just wonderful. There are views of the water from every angle of the restaurant. Something I truly love is that you can get there by boat and then dock it and sit outside in the beautiful outdoor wrap-around deck that they have. I have been so many times since they've reopened because the food is super tasty and they have so many different options that are all so good. The fish tacos are incredible along with the seafood linguini, mussels, paella, and sirloin. Every dish I've tried is very well done. The drinks hit just right as well. On top of that, they have a variety of tarts and cakes that are from a local baker and are delicious. Beautiful spot right on the water in Warren. Their attentive staff and excellent food have me looking forward to our next visit there. That have a great patio setup upstairs, which is great for drinks during nice weather. If you have a boat you can dock there and enjoy dinner. I even saw the staff bring food out to boats. I feel like the staff really goes out of their way to ensure their guests have a great experience. We had scallops BLT (not a sandwich, it is over risotto) , baked stuffed shrimp, and tuna nachos for the appetizer. Everything was perfect! They did an amazing job renovating this place! You feel like you're on the water in Newport. Prices are a little steep compared to comparable places but the view is fantastic and the food is good. First off, as other have mentioned they did a great job with the remodel. There are views of the water from just about every seat in the dining room. I've been here twice for lunch now. Both times I ordered the chicken wrap special. I believe the first time it was a chicken bacon ranch and last week was a chicken cajun. The first time the chicken and the wrap as a whole was on the dry side. This past visit it was a bit better. During my first visit my lunch companion ordered the hamburger and only had a few bites. She thought the burger itself was bland and overcooked. During the last visit my husband had the fish tacos and thought they were OK. I've had both the Caribbean and the meatball appetizer and both were good. The food was OK, but nothing special. I expected more especially for the waterview pricing. This restaurant is very cute. Nice outdoor patio over looking the water. We originally planned to eat outdoors however typical New England weather decided to change from summer to fall in one day and it was just a little bit too chilly for us. I was very pleased with our appetizers, we got an order of stuffy's and I think the stuffing consistency was one of the better ones I've had out of the restaurant. The Buratta app was also very good with nice fresh red ripe tomatoes. I got a seafood paella dish over linguine instead of rice at the recommendation of a friend that I dined with because that is what he usually gets and it was very good. My husband got the baked seafood special and my friend got the baked stuffed shrimp special which they both enjoyed. During dinner and over gentleman came over to check in on us and make sure we were enjoying everything which I assume they have been a manager or one of the owners. Over all the food and drinks were very good and there are no complaints here. Definitely will go visit them again to sit outside during nicer weather. read more

Wow, stay away! I stopped in late this afternoon for a beer at the bar and perhaps an early dinner. Bartender would not acknowledge me or make eye contact. They were not busy but all she would do is wait for new drink orders from the waiters to spit out of the machine. After 10 or 15 minutes I got up and left. But I had a thought...I went back to my car and put on a nice white collared polo shirt with a white matching cap and put on my dark rimmed glasses. Went back to bar and sat at same seat and she acknowledged me immediately?! This place is phony, snooty and pretentious. The only conclusion I can make is that they don't want any regularly dressed customers. Not a place to meet friends for happy hour unless you want to subject yourself to a sniff test. read more

Recent visit to the wharf was a disappointment. The food was decent, the hostesses were friendly and helpful but the manager's attitude was surly and not appropriate for dealing with customers. Our server seemed overwhelmed and not up to the task. What could have been a very beautiful dining experience was lessened by the manager's inconvenienced demeanor. Slightly higher than 3 stars , but not quite 4. I attended a wedding luncheon. The restaurant itself seems a bit dated and a little dark, but the views are beautiful. Servers were very friendly and accommodating, but the whole afternoon seemed quite relaxed. Appetizers were served buffet style and included crab cakes, baked clams, chicken fingers and spicy calamari. Everything was very good. The calamari had a nice kick to it, but the breading got soggy. We started dinner with a salad, that was fresh and crisp. The rolls served were chewy and yummy. For the entree I opted for the Sirloin Steak. The steak was cooked well, but needed some seasoning. Entrees were served with a baked potato and green beans, which were slightly overcooked. The wedding cake was delicious. Lovely lunch here this week with my mother and daughter. My mom had been hinting that she would love to go sit by the water and I figured I would take her out to lunch and enjoy the view. We came here several years back and were very disappointed. We went again last night and were overwhelmed by how awesome it was. The food was outstanding. We had oysters, a lobster roll, rib eye special, and swordfish. Prices were quite reasonable for the elegance. Service was phenomenal. If you are a local, you're good. Called and asked for a bar seat reservation was told first fcfs. Got there, two stools with reserved signs. Locals grab bar stools and tell you the one next to them is reserved and no one ever sits there. If you walk-in and ask for a table, hour wait. A local walks in and gets seated. Food is over priced. Lobster roll is over $40. Service at the bar depends on the bartender. I only sit there if a female bartender is on. She's great. The guy, forget it. If he doesn't know you, you get no service. We did the Warren Walk About on Sunday. Was recommended here for lunch. Just walked in with no reservations but took our name at the door for covid reasons, obviously. Server was great . Wish they had a better sauce than tartar sauce but they were hot and crispy, served with fries. All in all a beautiful spot to have lunch and if you are a boater, you can pull right up to the dock for lunch/dinner.. I will say that the star of the show was the apple crisp margarita! Went yesterday with a group of 5 and initially we sat outside but they have a gnat / fruit fly problem that lead us to sit inside but they followed us in there too. Besides that, the food and service was good. After we ate we went up to the roof and had some cocktails which was really nice. Where do I begin. Well parking was a complicated issue. But I understand some places in small towns have parking issues of all sorts so I'm willing to ignore that. But strange that the parking lot was so full and no parking on the streets for a few blocks however the restaurant was not anywhere close to being full. I'd hate to see it on a busy day. The atmosphere is very typical of trendy restaurants. Kinda been trying too hard. The wait staff was young and not very well trained. Yes they knew their menu. Which I'm glad somebody did because the menu was vague at best. It would list the major food item but not mention any of the sides that come with it. Nor does the menu have sides listed separately. Nor does the menu have the same sides for every dish. Nor do they give you the option to swap sides out. For someone with diabetes, dietary restrictions or allergies, this is an absolute nightmare. I, myself, have diary and gluten allergy so I asked for a separate gluten free menu and they didn't have one. So I had to ask the waitress every dish I was interested in ordering and then she would tell me what the side dishes were for those items...and it was different for every dish. Finally I order my meal with gluten free pasta which the waitress was kind enough to go verify with the chef that it was an option. Getting refills on water and drinks was nonexistent. Bread for the table didn't exist (not for me but for my starving friends). So we all waited very hangry and very thirsty. Finally our food arrives and we devour it so fast....mostly because we were hungry. They finally refilled drinks when the food was served despite all the wait staff standing around talking at the hostess desk. My friends hated their food but ate it because we were crazy hungry. I devoured my whole meal before I realized that they served me regular pasta and not gluten free pasta. I realized when I was rushing to the bathroom. I walked in the bathroom and there was a guy standing there with his wang in his hand staring at me. I dived in the bathroom stall and the guy stood outside the stall door for a minute. As if the night couldn't get any worse, As we left all the young clueless waitstaff had to say goodbye in creepy unison as we are leaving with frowns and cramps. read more

The service has really gone down. We used to go a couple times a month and sit at the bar for lunch or dinner. We've also come many times with friends but no more. The bartender did not greet us . Instead I asked her for a drink and she pulled out her cell phone and scrolled. After several minutes I asked again. She just looked at me, reluctantly put her phone down and made a drink (incorrectly). We went again a month later and there were seats open at the bar. The bartender said we couldn't sit there because they were reserved. That seemed odd because they only take reservations for 6+ people. She didn't offer us anywhere else to sit or anything from the bar, we finally got her to get us a drink and sat at the center table. We sat for about 35 minutes and no one showed up at the 'reserved' seats. Nothing but a bad attitude from the current bartenders. read more
