Overall really amazing restaurant. Everything I ordered was just so fresh. I went for both dinner and breakfast in a 24 hour period because the the food was so good. My favorite dishes include, the peach hibiscus tea and the chicken panini. The service was just okay, definitely can be improved. I did not feel the waitresses checked on us often enough. I often had to get up to get someone's attention. I also was waiting around for the waitress to bring a check but they actually require the customers to go to the register, seems like something that should be explained upfront. The prices are wayyyyyy to high. For 5 people for dinner we spent $170 and breakfast for 3 was $80. This place is definitely somewhere I would go just on a special occasion because the prices are too high. read more

This place is such a cute, laid back, hidden gem with outdoor seating surrounded in nature. It was the perfect way to spend a Friday lunch hour outside with the breeze, wind chimes, and light music. Orders the Creamy Cayenne Coffee cause the description sounded intriguing! And it did not disappoint! What a perfect combination of cream and spicy! Loved it! Also ordered the number three, hold the toast, extra spinach, add avocado. The service was great! I was given that Texas friendly service! The server was sweet, engaging, helpful, and accommodating (she provided recommendations and suggested substitutions for my low carb preferences). I really wanted to give this place a 5 star review. For the tastiness of the food that would be easy but the service and mindset was one star at best. Waitress was nice but never came back after taking our order. What really got me was that they were going to charge me 15 dollars to eat the cake I MADE AND BROUGHT for my friend for her birthday. We were a party of 7 and all ordered a full meal. When I asked for plates so that I could serve the homemade organic cake that I made special for my friend (we do this almost monthly to celebrate birthdays with our friends) I was like "are you kidding me? Like to rent 7 little plates?" Well I happened to remember I had just bought some party plates, so I went to my car and used my own plates. Could I have afforded the 15 dollars? Yes, but it was the principal. Seriously, I have been a small business owner for almost 25 years and I cannot for the life of me imagine expecting someone to pay for something that they brought . My friend has favorite cake flavor and as a gift for her birthday I made it for her. I don't care how good the food is, for this principle alone I will not be back. EDIT ..... just found out they did add and charge 15 dollars to eat our own cake. I had originally given 3 stars but... nah. The service was horrible too. Hidden gem for sure! This cafe is adorable and has a nice outdoor patio with spaced out tables. I loved all the healthy options and the food was delicious. It's also extremely close to Burroughs Park, so it's the perfect spot for a post-run lunch. I wish this had been around when I lived in Tomball and will be bringing my mom back next time I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Delish, delish, delish! The Mediterranean chicken sandwich was so good. Bread was really soft and came with some potatoes and a small salad. Their drink menu is extensive, made it tough to choose. I went with the vanilla chai tea latte and did not disappoint! Was one of the best I've had. My friend had a bowl today contained stewed lentils and they were so creamy and seasoned to perfection. Food and service 5 stars so why only 4? The seating is not very fat person friendly. Those farmhouse style steel chairs make it unfortunately or sometimes impossible to sit in. They have a few chairs that don't have the sides, so don't hesitate to ask they change those out for you. read more

This is a hidden gem. I had been frequent patron for many years ; 4-6 times/month for several years. The food is good to great to awesome !! Farm to table is my favorite cuisine. The service however is unfortunately nominal to rudimentary / poor. Absolutely NO correlation to environment & pricing. Wait times are stupid long. No reservations allowed. As others have stated , post COVID this place has really stumbled. If you like slow service there are lots of other choices. I always knew they would make it big & succeed. Unfortunately, like many before them, they have lost sight of service. IMHO , no matter how fine the food, poor service will eventually destroy the operation. Stay tuned. My guess is they wont survive the impending economy. Very sad story. Especially since the bakery is incomparable with fresh baked goods daily. read more

Drive by this place all the time & wanted to stop by so on a nice sunny day, I took my son and sat outside on the patio. It was a Saturday but it wasn't very busy - nonetheless, had to wait quite a bit for someone to even greet me and bring a menu! Ordered an iced matcha latte and literally was the WORST I've ever had. It literally tasted like they swirled something matcha powder in water? I sent it back and just asked for fresh oj which was delicious. Food was way overpriced - came in very small quantities. Good but not amazing or flavorful. They tried to hard to make it fancy. My server wasn't very helpful or nice either. Very disappointed. Might come back to give the beer garden a chance but will not be coming hungry lol. read more

A hidden gem of a restaurant! It's been here since 2019 and I didn't know it for years. The food was exceptional but smaller healthier portions that I'm not used to! Lol! I got the wheel bowl with ahi tuna. Healthy and delicious. My husband got the chicken sandwich which was so amazing. Much better than your normal sandwich. He also had a beer that he liked. Small glass was unexpected but it was good! I got a lemon coconut muffin which is definitely in the top 5 muffins I've ever had. They have many unusual flavors that I intend to try! Absolutely incredible food and atmosphere. We live in the Heights area of Houston and we came here on a whim in between soccer games and the food is some of the best I've had in the Houston area. The patio was so nice and relaxing plus there is a ton of space for our boys to run around that doesn't disturb diners. Taylor gave our large group outstanding service. Is everyone who eats at this establishment drunk? I know their alcohol menu is substantial, but I must be missing something. We have lived in this area for 8 years now, and have ALWAYS been curious to stop and eat at The Wheel Kitchen. We often see a lot of cars parked near the restaurant. Maybe this idea that it'd be good was built up in our minds too much. Maybe we need to start drinking alcohol to enjoy their food. I'm not sure. PARKING: There are a few spots on the side of the building and many parking spots past the building on dirt/gravel. We found an open spot at the side of the building and took it. CONFUSION: There are signs for a hair studio. There are signs for yoga. There is nothing to direct a first-timer to the restaurant door. We went to the back of the restaurant first. Nope - that must be for parties or something. We went to the other side. We felt like we were walking through the dining area which felt awkward as people stared at two confused people. We saw a door. Nope - that was Yoga. We saw another door. Luckily a waitress walked through and held it open, making it seem like we should enter. We stood inside the door like idiots for a moment wondering what to do next. They have no sign saying to "seat yourself". I walked up to the food counter and a lady told us what to do - "Seat yourself". So we did. Someone brought out a bottle of water and two mason jars, and a basket with salt, pepper, and utensils, and walked away. I guess we pour our own water here. Okay. I noticed a QR code tied to the side of the chicken-wire basket. I assumed that was the menu. No explanation - just figure things out on your own. It was the menu. Whew! Glad we got past the hard part. SERVICE: Our server came to the table and asked if we wanted drinks. I asked if they had any sodas. Nope. We both just drank water - which was, at least, filtered. She asked if we were ready to order, and we asked for a minute to look at our phones (menu), but before she left I asked a question about the menu. I just wondered if the dishes were served with sides? And if so, what. She gave us a confusing answer and left us. She later took our order. It was brought out to us by someone else. Then we never saw our server again until our food was finished. She never checked on us. She never asked, "How's the food?" She seemed very.... not great at her job. FOOD - WHAT I GOT: The menu seemed like a good variety, and it sounded tasty. But alas, that was an unfortunate mirage. Our food came out, and GUESS WHAT? There were (sort of) sides. I got a whole three-quarters of a roasted red potato (I'm assuming that due to the red-potato shortage, they couldn't give me the other quarter #sarcasm). I also had some spring mix of greens that MAY have had a dressing, but I couldn't taste it. Just rabbit food. My sandwich almost looked good, but the braised pork was very SCARCE! Oh, and the menu makes it seem like you are ordering a plated meal - NOT a sandwich. Guess what? It was just a sandwich. For $16, under the "STANDARD FAVORITES" section of the menu (which should read "SANDWICHES", I had a good bun, with MAYBE 3 oz. of braised pork shoulder, some cheese, two VERY thin slices of pre-packaged-like ham, and a 1/2 teaspoon of chimichurri sauce that I could not taste, and thought was omitted from the sandwich. That sandwich was so dry! I choked it down (with plenty of water). I left hungry, still. FOOD - WHAT I EXPECTED: This is EXACTLY what it says on the menu, "Braised pork shoulder, brioche bread, smoked ham, cheese blend, chimichurri". It sounded like some sort of a plate with nice chunks of meat, some ham, maybe some cheese melted on the top? I assumed I'd have a 2 oz. cup of chimichurri to add to my liking. I wasn't sure how the brioche "bread" would be incorporated (notice it didn't say "bun"). I hoped for a good 5-6 ounces of meat. something to fill me up. Am I crazy? It was $16. FOOD - what my WIFE got: She ordered the "Mediterranean chicken sandwich" which reads: "Warm focaccia bread, roasted chicken breast, almond spinach pesto, bacon, caramelized onion, cheese blend." Sounds good, right? Sounds like another lovely plated dish. NOPE - it is a sandwich, and there was nothing Mediterranean tasting about it. Just call it what it is: "A chicken & bacon sandwich with cheese". She said it tasted fine, but she, too, was very disappointed. There was no visible "almond spinach pesto" nor did we see "Caramelized onion". None. Just a big disappointment. AMBIANCE: It was your typical mismatched tables and chairs in a "cute" atmosphere. Wobbly tables, etc. They have indoor and outdoor seating. So sad! We wanted to really like this place. We won't be back. read more

I absolutely love this place. This is home grown, homemade food on another level. The owner is first and foremost one of the nicest people and makes some of the best food and pastries in town. Everything is so fresh, you can taste it with every bite. I love all of their coffees ans literally anything on their menu. I can't wait to come try their dinner menu. This place seems to have a lot of promise and it's tucked away in a beautiful corner with a nice outdoor seating area. My husband and I went here many months ago had breakfast and while everything sounds really good in the menu, the breakfast for sub par. The coffee was way too hot and without taste even though we both ordered two different specialty coffees. I believe in second chances so I went back for lunch today. I tried calling first to place my order online and the phones didn't work so I went in person and waited easily more than half an hour for one lunch meal which wasn't as described on the menu and didn't have all the ingredients. I also tried another coffee (specialty that is) and it came out way too hot - burned my mouth and also without taste. I was also charged too much but didn't realize it until I got home. My husband and I had the grandkids for the day and the kids wanted McDonald's so we bought McDonald's for them and brought it to the wheelhouse where my husband and I were going to have lunch. Mind you we did look at the website and notice that they did not have a kids menu so we thought we did good by going to McDonald's and getting them something to eat. Ridiculously amazing! This place is small and set up in what used to be a house. They have indoor and outdoor seating. My sis and I visited on a Sunday around 2pm to order breakfast/brunch. Of course, with a gluten allergies, the first thing we always ask is... what can we eat on your menu? lol. To our surprise the waitress came back and said that ANYTHING on the menu could be made gluten free! #heaven!! I tried the creamy cayenne coffee (super spicy but great flavor!). My sis and I ordered two different items so could split and try both. Vegan harvest bowl =basically crack in a bowl!! Crunchy black rice, pistachio and spinach pets with roasted butternut squash, gingered carrots and roasted apple. The texture of the black rice was SO GOOD! The food and ambiance here is really good but there is a worker with pink hair that every time he makes my coffee it comes out so bitter and I've had him make it 3 different occasions and they never were good. Waited 25mins to order today and 15mins later was told that our order had a mistake and they were just putting it in. 45mins after sitting we did not even have coffee so we left. Atmosphere- clean, new country, laid back, comfotable with inside and outside dining I called/ texted with manager owner a couple weeks ahead. Very helpful. There are two sides to this story as much as any other one. First, the good one; their menu and their food; exceptional. I had the Buddha Bowl; full of delicious fresh veggies and lovely roasted chicken. My wife had the warm croissant and she loved it. Second; the no so good service. We sat outside and felt like we got attention only when the inside clients allowed it. The is an amazing gem that I accidentally found. It sources all their ingredients locally and makes fresh pastries and bread in house. I had the avocado toast and I was blown away by the amount of flavor each bite held. The bread was the most delicious and hearty whole grain bread I have ever tasted. The eggs were cooked perfectly and incased in a mozzarella shell. The coffee is fresh and organic and the ambiance is picturesque. They have a small dining room and a large patio. This place was awesome! Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't busy but inside smelt amazing. My mom got the braised short rib tacos and I got the Mediterranean chicken sandwich. Both were awesome. The salsa for the tacos was fresh and just a hint spicy. The pesto on the sandwich made the whole thing come together. I also ordered the cayenne latte. One of my favorite places for breakfast or lunch. The courtyard area is a gorgeous place to relax, have some coffee, sun, and yummy food.
