So lucky we drove by and decided to stop in while we were in town! the breakfast was phenomenal we honestly hit it again on our way out of town. it's smoked meat deliciousness paired w the fun juice flight. Jack, our server, was so friendly and speedy with our drinks and food! The Director of Ops was explaining the concept which is food you'd find on your coastal drive from SB to Ensenada. Such a fun idea and truly the food is so good especially for the large portions and price They're also dog friendly!

Excellent in every way. Came on a Wednesday night and was treated so well by Brynn patient in every way and suggestions where on point. The food and drinks were delish my picky hubby loved the Turkey Rueben and 3 of us ordered the tri tip tacos loved everything.

So yummy! We took a chance on this place while visiting Laguna Beach and had a hankering for tacos. It was a great choice! We were bummed that they were out of their queso dip, but got the Birria fries instead, and it ended up being a very welcome substitute! They were my favorite part of our meal. The Pickle del Gallo (just pickled zucchini - YUM) and the guac were fantastic toppings. We got the carnitas queso, tri tip, and yellowtail tacos and all enjoyed our choice. The salsa verde served with the blue corn tortilla chips was so delicious as well. We were shocked that there weren't more people here because it was so good! With a full menu available and a bit of work with the waitstaff, it would be 5/5. Great pick for a casual and unique Mexican American dinner.

This place exceeded our expectations. We weren't sure how it would be, considering it seemed newer than the rest of the restaurants in the area, however the parking was easy and upon first entering on a Friday we were met with the funniest hostess that informed us we can sit anywhere. After, we were graced with the serving of Brynn our whole experience. Tye bottomless mimosas were incredibly worth it and included a plethora of delicious flavors including their "lemonade". As far as the food goes, everything was DELICIOUS including the shrimp fajita burrito and Classic American breakfast. However, the star of the show, by far, was the Shrimp and Grits tamale. Three ranchero sauce was out of this world! 10/10 recommend for drinks, food, and service from the entire staff. We will be coming back!

We really enjoy The White Rooster and are so happy they have found a home here in Dana Point. We have been to the Chef's other restaurants and loved the others as well. Ella was our server and she was kind, attentive and helpful with the menu. Their OC juice is so refreshing and delicious. I'm a big fan of their blue corn waffles. Today we also had the fish tacos and smoked tri tip bowl and both were great.

This spot is a heavy hitter! Drinks - Saddleback Sangria Slushie 4.5/5: Good balance in flavors, and stronger than expected. Very refreshing. - The Bruce Banner 4.5/5: surprisingly good, and I have never felt so healthy, while drinking champagne. Food - Brekkie Quesadilla, with Carnitas and bacon 5/5: The proteins paired really well, making it so rich and savory. The salsas, especially the tomatillo, were nice additions of freshness. - Brunch Burrito, with Carnitas 4.5/5: The carnitas was tender and flavorful and the sweet potato made for a different profile. The taco sauce went really well with it. - Salted Date Cinnamon Roll 4/5: Not the standard softness; much more dense, with the dates being a pleasant, natural sweetner It was packed, but we were greated immediately and they were still able to sit us quickly. The staff was attentive and well trained. The runners were quick and polite. Braden was a super star, and his suggestions and pairings were spot on for us.

    Chilaquiles!
    Erica F.

The food was truly amazing! They had an awesome take on shrimp & grits (my husband devoured) and I really enjoyed the Chilaquiles with brisket. The mimosa and fresh juice flight was also very good. The service was really attentive and helpful. We liked the indoor/outdoor seating arrangement.

I was spiritually rearranged. That's all I can say. The White Rooster said: "we close at 8 but also we might change your life at 7:12pm. nbd." We pull up after I just graded 80 student presentations (imagine being stuck in a room for 3 hours listening and grading simultaneously, students anxious sweat in the air, and my existence barely tethered to the moral realm as I try to focus), and I'm with The Boulder™, who apparently decided this was the night to take me somewhere (i think he likes me) we choose the White Rooster. Initially suspicious. It's empty. I'm thinking: "Is this a takeout place?" Are we about to be gently asked to leave in 15 minutes?" NO. They just said, "what if we take you on a magic school bus fieldtrip to... flavor town?" The FOOD??? FIRST the TRIP TIP BURRITO MONUMENT??! We ordered the smoked tri-tip situation, and I need you to understand this was not a plate. This was a landscape A truckload of meat -- tri-tip, bacon, carnitas -- just casually stacked like they're about to unionize, with roasted vegetables dramatically draped over the top like fainting women in a Renaissance painting. And the sauce??? I don't know her name. I don't know her origin story. But she was: * creamy * tangy * a little spicy * emotionally supportive Nothing needed elevating but she elevated anyway. Overachiever. HOT HONEY CHICKEN TACOS Delicious. No notes. They knew exactly what they were doing and did not ask for permission. The APPS??? IN *THIS* ECONOMY??? WHY is the guac served in a cereal bowl. WHY are there enough chips to feed a crowd at a Super Bowl party? Sir. Ma'am. Business owner. Are you trying to go bankrupt?? Because I will enable you. this was new on the menu, our server hadn't tried it yet, and The Boulder™ (a tall, kinda nice, geoloical entity) was like: "do you want to try some?" And suddenly we are sharing guac like it's communion. Beautiful. Human. Civic duty. Then... I am handed a slushie margarita. (I know this is quite the saga...but bear with me) I take a sip. Pause. I'm told it's wine-based I gave it *severe* side-eye. Because listen -- I am a 5ft Japanese girl but my farming lineage says alcohol is *the water of life*, and I come from a household with a whisky collection, gins, tequilas... I know my way around a drink. BUT. ...this??? Was actually kinda cute??? It tasted like: a high school girl punching her crush after he teases her too much Light. Fruity. Dangerous. You need to serve this with a THICK ASS STRAW because I wanted to inhale it like my survival depended on it. (Lowkey bc it does) The booth benches are HARD. Like... sit up straight and reflect on your life choices hard. But honestly? Character building. TLDR: Kind staff. Confusingly amazing food. Portions that challenge capitalism. A breakfast spot that said "what if we simply became iconic at night." I will be back. The Boulder™ will be back. The guac will haunt me until I return PS. If ya ever want to do a japanese izakaya fusion/blend menu, let me know :)

We came here for lunch on a Saturday and had about a 25-minute wait. The restaurant has a cool vibe with a large indoor/outdoor feel. The servers were nice and the place was clean. I ordered the Pacific Pearl Chopped Salad with the dressing on the side (3/10), but it came already mixed in. I also didn't care for the hard Brussels sprouts and thought the overall flavor was a bit odd. My husband ordered the Tri-Tip Bowl and really enjoyed it (8/10). Overall, it's a nice spot and we'd come back to try some other menu items.

GREAT local spot with quality ingredients and interesting combination. OBSESSED with the fact that they have such a huge selection of Gluten Free pastries (that my gluten-loving hubby also loves)! No one has a GF selection like that unless their a dedicated bakery. We will definitely be back. Service was a little slow when we went, but it is still new, and it was packed. Everyone was friendly tho and we had the time so no biggie. Just don't expect a fast experience. Get there and enjoy your time (and delish food!!).

Amazing new spot for anyone who loves Mexican food, or classic breakfast/brunch entrees. We came by around 12 and it was about a 40 minute wait. Love that the entire menu does not include any seed oils and great seafood options. The Elvis waffle was hands down the star of the show! There's great coffee/matcha and cocktail options depending on the vibe you're looking for. The short rib tacos were delicious, and all tables have 3 different sauces :green, red and tomatillo. Staff were extremely nice, prompt with service and provided good first time recommendations. Definitely looking forward to trying the tuna melt, next time!

    Is there parking at restaurant?

Yes there is tons of free parking out front. It's in a strip mall

What did this restaurant used to be? I can't wait to try it!

Used to be Maison (first iteration). Maison moved to a more central location in D.P., but I hear the new one is closed.

Can the blue corn grits and shrimp be made gluten-free?

Absolutely- they are gluten free naturally!

It's a cute little bistro in the industrial area of Saint Clemente around some other restaurants, including a Starbucks around the corner. The staff was super friendly when I walked in, need to use the restroom and the restrooms were super clean, and then I ordered a burrito the way I like it made made a couple of adjustments extra meat less cheese and I ordered the ribeye burrito and it was fantastic. Great amount of flavor. Didn't require any salsa or anything to help enhance it. Juicy and just well-made. Their chips were fresh out of the oven or at least tasted like it still warm. Very impressed. This little place. I'll definitely be coming back. Deserves five stars plus

They had a nice dog friendly ground level area so we could bring our pup. We ordered their chicken tortilla soup, 1/2 pint of guac, and burrho de alambre! 10/10 for everything. The chicken tortilla soup as hearty and toasty, perfect for the cooler weather. The guac was exactly my style, not too salty, not too tart, and demolished in no time. What a night! UNFORGETTABLE EVENT OF 2026!!!!…read more Last Thursday, our ULI CFL Foodies gathered for a truly memorable evening at Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen in Orange -- with an exclusive private dining experience for 10 in The Cellar (Ki Hanal + Lounge). Such great 5 star service by our server, Jess!!! Thank you Mr. Don Domingue (Restaurant Manager). - The Yucatan inspired dishes were life alteringly good - The salsa was seriously addictive (carmelized onions in the salsa??? who knew it would be so mind blowing!) - OMG the skirt steak was cooked to perfection sitting on a corn medley served with hot fresh house made flour/corn tortillas - Their cocktails were vibrant, fresh and packed a punch! A converted wine cellar featuring an intimate bar and lounge and a dramatic private dining table reminiscent of King Arthur's Court, the space was unlike anything we had experienced before. The furnishings were rich with history, character and unique design. For a few hours, we literally felt transported. But as special as the setting was, the people made the evening. We celebrated a birthday , career milestones , and had the opportunity to get to know members of ULI CFL Cohort 2 on a more personal level. A special CHEERS to Judson B, whose thoughtfulness and efforts truly made this evening special. Thank you, Judson, for taking us on such a wonderful Mexican culinary adventure! Great company + great conversation + great food & beverages = the trifecta of a great night out exploring what Orange County has to offer! And with that, we officially pass the ULI CFL Foodies torch to Karen A., who will be leading us on our next culinary adventure this Fall (Oct/Nov). Details to come! Until then... happy eating and CHEERS!

I'd like to start by saying the service was not the issue. The staff were kind and happily offered…read morerecommendations when asked. In my opinion, the restaurant should just be called "Gabbi's Kitchen," because that would be more appropriate. This is the type of "Mexican" restaurant that Mexicans don't actually go to. Basic concepts and dishes that are either done incorrectly or have way too much going on. We ordered the Al Pastor Gordita, and it was easily the worst gordita I've ever had. The meat wasn't traditionally seasoned the way you'd expect al pastor to be, which could be fine, except it was overwhelmed by the taste of either cinnamon, allspice, or some other seasoning I couldn't identify. It was distracting and unpleasant. Then there was an overwhelming amount of pineapple. There shouldn't even be pineapple in a gordita, but if there is, it shouldn't be the main ingredient. Instead of lettuce, there were one or two spinach leaves, and no beans. We also ordered the Arrachera, which was basically carne asada on corn and nopal. This was the most expensive dish, yet while the cheaper dishes came with sides, this was mainly just a piece of meat on a small mountain of corn. No beans, rice, or salsa. I asked for salsa and received an overly sweet, somehow-not-spicy habanero salsa that they charged $4 for. And if you're used to going to literally any authentic Mexican restaurant and getting complimentary chips and salsa, don't expect that here. They offer it to you like it's free, but it's not. I wanted to try something new, and the hostess at the front said the food was "really good" (not her fault), but unfortunately, it's just another Americanized Mexican restaurant that makes you regret not going to a place you already know and trust.
