    Clam stew
    Roberto B.

Where do I begin with this place. As my wife said it "this was exactly what I was hoping for to start our vacation in Cape Cod" The oysters were delicious the focaccia with butter and prosciutto added refreshed the pallet and the star of the show the clam stew. I was a bit hesitant about ordering the stew but I'm so glad I did. The consistency of the broth and the heartiness of the beans and bacon pairs well with the clams. If you are ever in Wellfleet or passing by I suggest stopping here for some good food. Our server was friendly and informative about the menu. The outdoor ambiance was relaxing with the musicians playing tunes.

A must stop every year, though we missed 2024. First time with the new ownership and, as with all previous visits, The Wicked Oyster delivers. Wellfleet Oysters are probably our Worldwide favorites, the Day Boat Scallop dish and the Pan Seared Sole were excellent!!! The only thing I could say was not our taste was the music playlist. EDM/Electronica probably not the best choice.

New owners - new menu. The Wicked Oyster was sold earlier this year. It looks like the restaurant got a new coat of paint and a new menu. The cocktails are ambitious and tasty. The menu is smaller, but most plates feature local seafood with a creative presentation. The Lobster Gnocchi is delicious. I would have given the meal 5 stars but the service was understaffed. It took 20 minutes for the server to collect my credit card and process the card after presenting the check.

    Lemon Risotto with shrimp

Overall not a bad experience, I came up from DC and must say the food was good for coming in after 9 am with a party of 9. The lazy lobster was good although the gnocchi was a bit doughy and dense. The clam chowder was a bit loose and clams were not large, I was looking for a bit more flavor but the consistency was on point. The crab cake was good and full of crab meat but the shrimp egg rolls were a bit thick. The star if the show was the lemon risotto and shrimp. Really good! I'd come back to see if an earlier meal is better.

    Gross.

Great breakfast stop. Kids wanted pancakes and adults wanted mimosas. We got both! Quaint, decorative and tasty. Highly recommended!

We were recently invited by friends to join them for dinner at Moby Dicks and we accepted, excited to try it. I have to say it has been the single most impressive visit I have ever had on Cape Cod. All these years, who knew! I've eaten at Lobster Pot, CBI, the Wequassett, the Wayside, Pelham House and several other top restaurants on this peninsula and none of them have left me feeling like Moby Dicks. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot that was chock full of cars and was assisted with parking my car by a very nice young man to standing in line and being offered fresh tasty watermelon while I waited to the young woman who came around and collected our watermelon rinds to the unbelievably nice staff who kept checking on us during out meal. Who does all this these days? Speaking to the staff, I became aware of their accents. They are from all over the world...Croatia, North Africa and so many more far away places. They spoke very highly of the restaurant's owners and actually said they loved working there. This is a win win situation folks. The staff is happy which encourages them to show up for work - unlike so many places these days. This makes the bosses happy which trickles down to the customer who ends up with the best part of the deal...great food at reasonable prices and a hell of a staff to serve you! I don't do reviews but felt propelled to leave this one. Kudos to you Moby Dicks for making families, friends, couples, etc have one of the best nights of their Summer! Oh BTW, I had the blackened swordfish, my boyfriend had the whole belly clams and our friends had the captain's plate and the kabobs - all of it was fabulous and cooked perfectly. Did I mention it is BYOB? Oh yeah it is :) Don't miss it - Have a great time!

Apparently, the owner wanted to re-focus on that part of the business. *shrug* I used to come here around opening and see a lengthy line. The croissants are some of the best in the area. The plain croissant is flaky and light. The ham & cheese croissant is more of a croque monsieur and it's a pretty substantial offering, full of cheese, ham, and béchamel sauce. The individual tarts (lemon, raspberry, etc.) and cakes are beautifully designed and are appropriately sweet. The tart crusts were legit. I'll miss coming here for pastries/desserts. Maybe I'll try the bistro when it opens, but now I've found a new spot on the Cape for French patisserie and viennoiserie items.

NOTE: our waiter was inexplicably and somewhat aggressively handsy with me. A special thank you to Elia, who helped us with our reservation, accommodated a change, and even helped with a gift card. That kind of attention and care set the tone before we even arrived. It made a real difference. The hostess at the front desk was also incredibly kind and helpful, and we appreciated that right away. We were seated upstairs in a beautiful room that felt intimate and special, perfect for celebrating the holiday. The food exceeded our expectations. We started with the crab cakes and watermelon salad, both excellent. I had the chicken, Scott had the lobster, and both were outstanding. What made the night memorable wasn't just the food, though -- it was the hospitality. You can tell when a restaurant has people who genuinely care about the guest experience, and Helltown delivered that in every way. We'll absolutely be back.
