DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER with fries, lemonade and ice tea, Diet Coke, strawberry shake
    Esther JC S.

Heard so much about this place! And we always see it, as we are driving by. I came here for the 1st time, last year, with my friend who lives nearby. Yummy! And affordable. I came back another time, I think, with my son. And then, last week, with my husband. Not sure if it was my taste buds but this time, the burger was kind of too salty. The strawberry shake was yummy. The fries were good too. Maybe I'll give it another go, next time. Parking is a little tough, sometimes, but Cute spot though! Gotta try it at least once, guys!

The Win-Dow Burgers My coworker Kat told me I needed to try Win-Dow because, in her words, they have the best smash burgers. After an appointment a couple miles away, I made the drive over, and I am glad I listened to Kat. First of all, parking gets a star by itself. The lot is not that big, but with the amount of people coming in and out, it worked surprisingly well. I got a spot right away and it seemed like everybody else was able to do the same. No long wait, no circling around, no hassle. Then I got in line to order. The setup is cool. It is like they open up the garage doors and serve you from there, which I guess is why it is called Win-Dow. Whatever the reason, it works. The staff were courteous, efficient, and made the process easy. Now to the food. My burger was smashed the right way but still juicy, which is exactly what you want. The meat tasted high quality, the cheese was good, the bun held everything together, and the whole burger just came together really well. The fries were crispy exactly the way I like them. I also ordered the Brussels sprouts and asked for them crisp with the house dressing instead of ranch. That was a great call. They forgot them at first, but when I went back in they apologized and brought them out right away. No attitude, no problem, just fixed it and kept it moving. For dessert, I was originally going to get the dipped mint ice cream, but the guy in front of me ordered the salted caramel and said it was really good, so I followed his lead. Great decision. That salted caramel was top tier. From parking to burger to dessert, Win-Dow delivered across the board. One thing to know is that there is no indoor seating, so you will be sitting outside. But there are restrooms in the back, and it seemed very family friendly. I saw a lot of people there with kids and families, and everybody looked like they were having a good time. This is the kind of place that makes you want to come back. Even while I was there, I was already looking at the menu thinking about what I want to order next time later in the week. Kat was right. Win-Dow is an easy 5 stars all day.

Another review from now several months ago that I wrote a draft for last fall, then never finished it... it's like in-an-out, but craftier. On one hand, $8 sounds like a good amount of money for a fast food (double) cheeseburger - on the other hand, Sideburns makes my favorite smash burger in the city, but their basic smashburger is $11, and that's not even a double burger. Anyway, one double cheese burger was quite satisfying, it was more filling than it looked at first. It's exactly what was advertised - In-N-Out, but craftier. Great buns, great meat, a classic cheeseburger... a bit salty though (it really needed ketchup to offset the saltiness... so I asked for ketchup and got some and added it, which improves it greatly :p. As with In-N-Out, I didn't buy the fries and thus couldn't comment on them. Mostly because the burger was quite enough food, though, in this case.) Being more of a quick stop place, obviously there isn't any alcohol, but in addition to $6 shakes (assuming they haven't gone up since a few months ago - I didn't get one, but assume they're also great), they had lemonade/arnold palmers for $2.50 - actual lemonade, not from a mix. I did get an arnold palmer, and it was, expectedly, great. A lot of the seating is outside around the side of the building on a bar-top-type setup - I though that was pretty neat, though, it's a nice area, as long as it's a reasonable temperature, which it is more often than not. That's why we all like living in California. Was especially nice right around sunset. p.s. Unlike In-N-Out as far as I know - you can order ahead if you know when you're going to get there, right from them, and then only have a small wait to pick it up, which is pretty nice too.

Super classic burgers and fries, but without any of the stomach aches from the grease or heaviness. I loooove their shoestring fries, and their lemonade is so yummy and tart. I am not used to very simple smash burgers, but I didn't mind mine at all! I definitely would have wanted double the patty though because a regular burger and fries weren't enough for me lol. But I did pay for what I asked for, and I appreciate that their prices are pretty accessible. This feels more like a lunch than a dinner spot. Especially since this is more of an open air kinda joint. Would still come again!

A yummy lemonade to go with my burger!

A five year-old decided this is where he wanted to go for his birthday dinner, so here we are. I had not been to one of these locations, but I do appreciate the reasonably priced burgers! This is a simple window order and pick up place with limited seating. Kind of a throwback to a burger spot of yesterday year... I got the chicken sandwich which was very tasty and everybody else said their burgers were wonderful. Great place to come for a quick burger if you're in the area. Also, quite a few other locations, I'll have to try the one right next to me in Hollywood!

    CHEESEBURGER and crispy Brussels

The smells lead you here! Solid burgers that rival in-n-out. The quality is noticeably. We tried the crispy Brussel sprouts and they were delicious. I still need to try the soft serve. Service is always great. It's a great addition to 2nd street

Cute little place to go grab a burger! Buns were nice and soft, house sauce paired well with the onions and pickles. Fries were ordinary, nothing special. Kale salad was a popular pick, and drinks are solid, especially for $2.50. Parking is limited, vibes are not

Such a vibey spot! Highly recommend coming here on a nice day! We chose a perfect day to come. Everything is open and bright, it's quite relaxing. We of course ordered their burgers and let me tell ya, we devoured them! I had a single and my friends both got doubles. They're decently sized and bursting with flavors. They do have seating but, it fills up quick! I enjoyed people watching whilst eating my burger. A friend of mine highly recommended their kale salad, but I don't see the hype. Overall, a good salad but I'm not going there for that.

There are tons smash burger spots in Long Beach but this one really nails it! The burger is perfectly cooked with nice charring throughout and balanced perfectly with sweet/crunchy pickles layered underneath their special sauce. The fries have a nice crisp as well and are lightly tossed in salt. Super friendly staff and rather quick service! They have a ton of seating under their covered patio as well. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area or passing through 2nd Street.

Two double cheeseburgers and two veggie burgers
    Mark F.

Been wanting to try this place for awhile. Love a good smash burger and this place does it right. Pretty simple menu with a few additions like chicken sandwiches and salads. We got 2 double cheeseburgers and two beauty (aka impossible) burgers, the kale salad, and fries. The smash burgers were delicious. The bun is soft but has enough support not to fall apart while eating it. The patties are smashed to perfection. Maintining juiciness while providing textural contrast with the crispy edges. The sauce is similar to a thousand island dressing and the pickles and onions also add a nice crunch. The fries are pretty ordinary which makes this not the best I've had. The kale salad is really good but if you don't like raisins then you won't like it. But the tanginess of the dressing along with the nuts and cheese is really a nice bright contrast to the heavier flavors of the burger. The location isn't too busy because it's at the end of second street which was nice because usually it's impossible to find parking. Service is okay, the vibe is cute. Worth going if you like smash burgers.

Cute Burger stand in Long Beach. This isn't a indoor sit down stand. You order and pick up order from a window. There's a few seats available outside of the stand. Restroom located in the back of resturant, expect a line cause it only one restroom. The service was good. The menu is basic with a few items, there are a few healthy options. The food was good however I wish they seasoned the burgers more, they were kind of bland for my taste, you will need ketchup and other condiments for flavor. The bread they use is bomb.

    Strawberry shake
    Sandy H.

Since my initial visit a couple years ago, prices have increased slightly and they've added more seating along the side of the building. A small parking lot is available next to it but I usually find street parking. There's a window to order and another window to pick up your food. The cheeseburger was salty the first time I had it but less salty now in my opinion. The French fries are crispy and good. The Brussels sprouts with a side of their house sauce was decent. I've tried their strawberry shake and it was the perfect cold treat.

This is now my second review I LOVE THIS PLACE !!!!! A double cheese burger for 7.50 like come on can't beat that and it's so fresh and flavorful I mean seriously on top of that! We try the chicken sandwich and holy shit. It was so good. It was honestly refreshing even though it was fried and it had like a vinegar flavor to it just really was a nice touch paired with the burger.

Hi do you guys have grass fed beef?

Hi Cherida, The beef used in our patties does not come from grass-fed cows, but we do use a high-quality proprietary blend created specifically for our burgers. Hope that helps!

Anyone know what oil they use for cooking meat and the fries?

Hi Ali, we use canola oil. Hope that helps! :)

Can you order ahead of time for pickup?

Hi Gwen, Yes you can place an order through our website for pick up.

This is probably why most people came in with online/phone orders for pickup and got the heck out of there in a hurry. Fries are okay at best but the onion rings are fantastic! I don't recommend the smash style burger because it's smaller and doesn't come with the fixings, but if that's your thing than by all means enjoy. I got the backyard bbq burger and it was very tasty. Not the best I've ever had but it definitely hits the spot and prices are not bad at all here. If I happen to be in the area again I would definitely be down to phone in my order and pickup for takeout to enjoy the tastiness somewhere I feel a little more comfortable. Staff was also very friendly - when they could be seen at least, but it was one cashier/server with two guys in the kitchen and although it's a small hole in the wall place there is still plenty to do if you're understaffed so I'm not even mad about it. Thanks ya'll!

They coated the chicken in a chili rub that gave it a sweet and spicy flavor when paired with their maple syrup. Served on top of a waffle and topped with an egg. I loved it and would probably order again on my next visit. My wife had the American plate which was your classic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast combo. TLDR; It's expensive, and not worth the routine visit, but worth the one-time stop in to experience the festivities. The Miracle pop-up at The Ordinarie is somehow even more decorated and extravagant than you'd expect from a seasonal pop-up. The line looks long outside, as there are no reservations, but it moves quickly since they hold everybody to a pretty strict 2-hour time limit. The drinks are good, the cups are cute, and everyone is festive. It's an all-around fun experience.  I think because of this, you do pay a premium price tag for food and drinks that are just good or okay. I think it's something that is worth the visit if you've never been and you enjoy getting into the Christmas spirit. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. Walk a little further and go through the door to enter. I was blown away by the atmosphere and build. Kudos to Bamboo Ben! It is dimly lit with a ton of cave wall, bamboo, thatch, netting, tiki lights, floats, skulls, tikis, and other décor. The bar is loaded with bottles and looks great with dark blue and green backlighting. The bar top is wood with deep cutouts that are filled with clear epoxy. The booths in the main dining area are little tiki huts and even have clouds overhead. There was great tiki music playing the whole time. A few times an hour a thunderstorm hits. The lights dim, lightning flashes with thunder sound effects, and red lights illuminate cracks in the floor that looks like lava veins. There is also a photo-op "Pele's Throne" which is a big lava rock surrounded chair. We sat at the bar and had the coconut shrimp appetizer ($12). The shrimp were breaded and cooked well, and had a coconut sprinkle on top. The spicy dipping sauce complemented the shrimp well. I started out with the Drunken Monkey (Makers Mark 46, Jamaican rum, banana liqueur, cinnamon, allspice, Angostura bitters, normally $19, $17 during happy hour). It was somewhat bourbon forward with a little funk from the Jamaican rum. I definitely got the cinnamon notes with a little banana and allspice in the background. She started out with the El Capitan Hook (Del Maguey mezcal, pineapple, banana liqueur, Luxardo cherry liqueur, lime, $17, $15 during happy hour). This was smoke forward with light pineapple and banana flavor. I had the Hula burger ($18) which was very good with a lot of different flavors from the various toppings. It came with a decent amount of fries, and was a filling plate. She had the pineapple bowl fried rice and added with BBQ pork ($17 + $5 for pork add-on). It is served in half of a scooped out pineapple and had a good amount of rice with pork and green onions on top. It had a good mix of teriyaki sauce on the rice and BBQ sauce on the pork. Next, I had the Rum Runner (coconut and blended dark rums, banana liqueur, raspberry, grenadine, pineapple, orange, lime, $18, $15 during happy hour). It was very pineapple and coconut forward which overpowered all of the other ingredients. She also had the Let That ManGo (white rhum agricole, coconut, mango, lemon, $18, $16 during happy hour). The primary flavors here were mango with some grassiness from the agricole. We were here from about 6pm to 8pm on a Wednesday night and it was pretty dead with only a few other people in the place the whole time. They do have a stage in the back with live music acts, so it is probably busier when there is entertainment and on weekends. Our first bartender was Alex who was nice but we barely talked with him. Manager Pedro took over the bartender duties later on and we had a great time chatting with him. Service was great from both of them. The drinks are a few dollars above average, but if you come during happy hour, the drinks are several dollars off. Happy hour is currently all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, and Thursday through Saturday from 5pm to 8pm. The food was good, the drinks were ok to good, and the atmosphere was great. Normally, this would probably be a one and done, but I really liked the build and would like to come back when it is busier, maybe on a weekend.
