I've found myself wanting to try The Win-Dow in Venice, but never wanted to make the drive that badly for a burger, so I'm glad they have a location in Long Beach. I had the pleasure of indulging in The Win-dow last week. I'm not really into burgers, but I do find myself dabbling in the smash burger department of things. My friends on gone on their soft-opening. They enjoyed the burgers, fries, and the kale salad. They did say they didn't care too much for the chicken sandwich and the mint chocolate ice cream. The burger itself is decently priced at $4, while a double is priced at $7. I don't live too far from here, so I placed an order on their online system. If it's your first time here, don't make the same mistake I did. There's three windows - one for ordering, one for take-out after ordering, and the other on the opposite side (nearest to the parking lot) meant for online orders. My husband and I didn't park in the lot , so I didn't see the other window until I was directed to it by the other person in the window. Service was decent, but I was blatantly ignored by one of the girls in the first window. She just looked at me, then walked the other way, then looked at me again, then walked away again. But thankfully, a second girl figured I was looking for the online ordering window and directed me to where I needed to go. There isn't any indoor or outdoor seating. You kind of just eat in your car or take it to go. The buns were nice and soft. I think they're potato buns. The patty was nice and flavorful. The burger itself kind of reminded me of a way better version of a McDonald's cheeseburger. I think it has to do with the diced onions and sauce. Like better quality everything! I had also ordered the jalapeno aioli to dip the fries in, which was tasty. The fries itself were nice and crispy - way better than In-N-Out. The parking lot has free parking, if you're able to snag a spot. Other than that, there's meter parking or residential parking if you're lucky. Definitely would want to go back for their kale salad! I have gluten intolerance issues due to autism, and when I heard this place does gluten free options, I agreed to try it when my wife suggested it. The staff was really helpful and friendly, and their food was the bomb! My burger had a juicy patty which was not overcooked, and the French fries were amazing. The only thing which was a downer for this visit was their choice of music to play. While I'm not a huge fan of Hip Hop, I do enjoy listening to it. But, on this day? I don't know what they were playing, but it was annoying and atrocious. Maybe it was just the playlist that day, but...oof! Will I go back? Yes! This is the first time I ever tried a smash burger. I know these are the new hype recently so I decided to finally them. I ordered the double cheeseburger, fries, with their jalapeño sauce. It was quite tasty. Although, I think I have a sensitive pallet so next time around I would order the burger and the fries without the salt. Not much to discuss about the food: simple, quick, delicious, and affordable. A cheeseburger with iced tea for ~$11 with a great view of the beach is a steal. You can also rent electric scooter/bike to go around the belmont shore to help digest the meal, will come back to try ice cream next time when I am not too full. read more

The burger is excellent and does all the heavy lifting here. The fries were unedible, terrible. The ordering system is a disaster. I waited in line 10 minutes without the line moving before ordering online. Online ordering is not available for ice cream, which makes sense, but, was disappointing. The place recently opened, so hopefully they work out these little kinks. The burger itself was worth going and if they work the kinks out, this can easily be a 5 star spot. Nice soft toasted buttery potato bun, American cheese, grilled onions, basically done the right way 100% in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and eat it there so you get to it hot. No distraction from lettuce & tomato slices , just good pickle chips and onions grilled are the only vegetables involved. The fries could use some work, if you are going to go to the trouble of doing all right on the burger why not extend that effort and quality to the fries as well? The fries were like an afterthought. Cold sticks of frozen potatoes. A burger this good deserves a hand made fry. Maybe using a kennebec potato, cut 5/16". Double fry them like in Belgium. please and thank you chef. Today, I was craving a good vegetarian 'Impossible' burger with fries. I went to my 'favorite' restaurant but, it was closed on Tuesday. So, today was going to be the day I try the new Win-Dow restaurant in Long Beach. I ordered the 'Beauty' burger w/ cheese and an order of fries. The line wasn't bad and the prices were.... Ummm... okay. The burger was good but, kind of thin. While it WAS a smash type burger, I kinda thought it'd be a little thicker. The fries were okay. I think they'd be like McDonalds fries but, they didn't seem to be freshly fried. Overall, I enjoyed the burger and may consider going back. It is conveniently located and they have free parking too. We came close to opening and there was no line. The worker kindly helped me to decide between a burger, chicken sandwich, and the salads. I ended up getting the Kale salad since they preferred that one and added fried chicken on top. My friend got the smashburger, fries, and strawberry milkshake so it was perfect to share and try everything. The kale salad was a very generous portion as well as the size of the fried chicken on top. Every part of the salad was well dressed and a perfect amount of everything. There were pine nuts, golden raisins, cheese, and the slightest bit of dressing. The smashburger is soft and warm and delicious. The fries were kind of like McDonalds fries. I noticed everyone around us getting the strawberry milkshake weirdly since I feel like vanilla and chocolate are more popular but it was really great. Not a bad artificial taste at all. I really wanted to get a dipped cone but they said they couldn't make them at the moment even though someone had got their cone like 10 mins before, so I assume the machine had just broke. One of my only complaints is that the milkshake comes with a lot of whipped cream on top and less milkshake on the bottom so their whipped cream is their way of adding ice to drinks. Also no surprise, the food is super salty so that hit later at around 30 mins after the meal where I was sucking down water. Super cute outdoor seating and I love the atmosphere and it almost felt like you were at a resort eating on the stools in a tropical place like Cabo. I would come back. read more

I had the double cheeseburger and ordered a side of fries. Pat had a shake. My burger was the perfect greasy Smashburger, succulent and juicy. The fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. I was a happy boy so was Boomer, though he would like extra cheese next time. Pat was disappointed in the shake, however.. She said it too thin, a bit watery. She suggested they go to Carl's Jr., order a shake and figure out how they make it so creamy. Heard tons of hype about this burger place in LA and was super excited when I heard they opened a location in Long Beach. Went with a friend this past weekend after I told him about it. I was the second or first person there right before opening. Super cool and trendy little spot. Bar seating essentially surrounding the window where you order. Was greeted as they opened the doors to let us in. Let a couple women go in front of me as I waited for my friend. Unfortunately their ordering system crashed right before it was our turn. They had no answers for an ETA. Not on them, but not ideal. Waited maybe 15-20 minutes and right before we were about to leave it came back up. I got a double cheeseburger and the chopped kale salad. Normally not a huge fan of smash burgers. But this burger might change me. Super juicy, couple slices of cheese, delicious house sauce, caramelized onions, a large portion of pickles which I loved, and all layered between sweet/soft buns. It unfortunately was too greasy for me and the last bites were grease soaked bun too to bottom. Didn't sit well with me. The salad was a great complement to the rich burger. Lemon vinaigrette dressing, pecorino, roasted pine buts, and the kale all blended well. Wasn't bitter at all which most people hate about kale. Great experience all in all minus the system crashing. Their online ordering experience was fairly smooth and I appreciate that. Our burgers game out in about 15 minutes and we were able to avoid the line. Almost ALL of my reviews are 5 stars as I like to help businesses, but the manager was rude. We ordered two sodas with our meal. My wife's soda had a normal amount of ice, but my drink was mostly all ice, so I finished it quickly. I was told no refills (which is totally fine) by the server, but due to the ice issue I asked to speak with the manager. She rudely lectured me: "I'll do it this time, but we don't do refills and our 16oz drinks are 4oz of ice and 12oz of soda," which was the ratio of my wife's drink. Mine was more like 11oz of ice and 5oz of soda. She rudely passed me a small cup and barked: "Here's an extra 4oz cup of soda, but (once again) just this one time." Instead of giving me Ounces breakdown and a lecture, she should have just said: "We normally don't do refills, but there is a lot of ice so here's a refill. Thank you." Politeness, not lecturing the customer, is always the best way to solve an issue. Simply being nice is such an easy to way to avoid a negative review. read more
