    Filet Mignon Medallions

This was my first visit to The Windjammer, however, it's another one of my fiancé's family's go-to restaurants while they're on vacation in Ocean City. It's conveniently located right off of the island and has an enormous parking lot. It definitely has the look and feel of a diner, but it also features a large bar. I'll admit that I wasn't very excited about dining here, but by the end of our meal The Windjammer exceeded my expectations and then some. We were a larger party of 8 and our server did a fine job with us throughout the course of our meal. We all ordered water, soda, or iced tea so there's nothing to report on the drink front. We were started with bread and banana bread (not the best banana bread I've had but also nothing to complain about since it was complementary) and we ordered a couple of appetizers to split -- the Mini Panzarotti were very good. I had a hard time deciding what to order for dinner but landed on the Yiayia's Prime Pork Chops. I loved the seasonings and the flavor of the pork chops. In no way am I complaining, but while one of my pork chops was juicy and tender, the other pork chop was drier and tougher. Still completely happy with my meal. The prices were pretty reasonable and the dinners came with plenty of food for anyone to be satisfied. All of the entrees came with Soup of the Day or House Salad. I chose the New England Clam Chowder which I really enjoyed. The house salads were also huge! My fiancé and her brother-in-law split the Filet Mignon Medallions and the Iowa Premium Braised Beef. Her dad ordered Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. Everyone enjoyed their meals and many of us had leftovers. I can see why The Windjammer is a restaurant my fiancé's family enjoys and continues to go back to. The dining experience was casual and relaxed, and they're a kid friendly establishment. I never felt rushed and our server never made it feel like we were a bother. The portions were almost unbelievable (in a great way lol). As I'm writing this and recalling our experience I feel bad for not wanting to dine here. I'll gladly come back again given the opportunity!

    Chicken kabob salad

We like T W D for dinner, but it is the first time we have gone here for breakfast, and everything was amazing... MDF ordered chicken kabab salad, which was nicely seasoned and beautifully presented, and she really enjoyed it, No 1 son ordered a meat lover omelette, and a Belgium waffle, he loved both of them, I ordered the Belgium waffle and I think it was the best I've ever had. The Windjammer is now on my list of favorite local breakfast spots...

    cheese tortellini

the waiter we had was very kind and great, contrary to some of the other opinions here. that was kind of the only thing that was great here. i got the chicken tortellini and the amount of cheese on top was kind of overwhelming. the steaks some other people got were dry, also one person got a rib eye and the other got a new york strip, and both were given the exact same steak. my biggest gripe, that someone else mentioned in their review as well, was the tv playing. Something about reading headlines like "superman joins ice" "second china virus in america" and "barack obama the beta" kind of puts a damper on your meal. wildly uncomfortable, don't think i'll be coming back.

I was referred here by a local. The chipped beef is out of hand, comes with 4 slices and potatoes. Buckle up buttercup - belly buster.

First time here. Was recommended for us to come here. Was seated right away. Waitress came over right away to take our food and drink orders. Tables have a nice vinyl table covering. Decor is low light and very comfortable. Music isn't too loud. Salads and breads came out super fast! Salad was basic. But it's a started salad. The slice bread was shockingly sweet! Super moist. Diner rolls are a little harder but not dry! Holds up well with your meal. I ordered the chicken parmigiana! Chicken is tender! Sauce is not super sweet! Has a beautiful Italian flavor! Lingerie was cooked perfectly! For sizing it a lot for the lunch special. Wow wow! Definitely will be back! Was told breakfast is served till 3pm everyday! Bonus! Got here at 3:30pm so will have to make sure we get back to try breakfast!! Inside wasn't super cold as far as temperature is concerned. Most restaurants are so cold! Definitely worth the 5 stars!

    Ravioli and meatball
    Veronica K.

This is a decent diner even if they have a relatively small menu. The inside is large and modern, and very clean. I liked my ravioli and meatball dish well enough, but $15 for it is a little steep. Not bad for a Jersey diner experience.

Spinach omelet with mushrooms and sausage added

Stopped for lunch on our way into Ocean City. Place is large with lots of tables and a pretty expansive menu. Our server was a delight and was very attentive throughout our meal. My wife's spinach omelet, to which she added sausage, was really flavorful and satisfying, and the home fries served with it were very good as well. My crab bisque was a mixed bag - the generous portion of lump crab meat was fabulous! Unfortunately the crab bisque it was added to was pretty good but obviously came from a can. We will return to try other offerings.

BLT with sourdough toast, applewood bacon, fresh fries and a dab of coleslaw

It's been awhile so time to try breakfast. Weekend breakfast menu is limited with no combos available. I picked eggs over medium with well done bacon added. Done just as I asked. Coffee was hot and service was friendly. I will be happy to return.

Server was really nice but the food just wasn't good. My chicken was slimy and the fried mozzarella was almost hallow.

Here are the positives: 1. The menu: They have a very extensive drink menu, with plenty of cocktails, including margaritas, canned drinks, and other specialty drinks. I wish they would serve more mocktails, but that's just me. 2. The atmosphere: This is an excellent place to enjoy the bayside views and hear live music, and it's even on a sunny day. 3. The service: This location has plenty of staff on hand, but you may have to flag someone down if it's busy. The food and drinks here are very good and compliment the atmosphere very well. I will say there are a couple of downsides: Cover charge: If you want to come here on the weekend, be prepared to pay at the door. The cost to come here is $5 per person, and while that may be alright for those who are vacationing here, it can become quite costly for locals. I really wish places like this offered a seasonal pass then I'd be back much more often. One of the more negative experiences I had was using the bathroom. I did have an incident at the Somers Point location where I locked the bathroom door and a member of their staff walked in on me and, at one point, banged a broom against the window. I'm not sure if any of their locations have some type of bathroom policy, but it didn't seem quite professional and felt very awkward. If you plan on using the bathroom here, make sure the door if completely locked.

This time we came to see our friend playing music in the bar area. The bar was crowded for 4:00pm but we found a table which worked well for us. I went to the bar to get my wife and I some beers and the bartender served us right away. I asked if we could get menus for the table and she sent over our server. He was great. He took our order quickly and came back often to the table to see if we wanted anything else. When I read the menu before coming I knew I really wanted to try the tacos. Between my wife and I we got to try 4 types: - Tuna: This was delicious. One of the best tuna tacos I've ever had. They used a nice strip of good tuna meat and seared it with a nice spice blend. - Mahi Mahi (grilled), Mushroom, Shrimp (fried): all were very good The only reason for only four stars was the price for the tacos. Compared to other restaurants that sell tacos they run roughly a dollar more than most establishments. However the quality of the tuna in my opinion does justify the higher price.

My son and wife loved the bacon, blue burger and the surf and turf burger. I got the chicken Parm linguine and I'm thinking maybe I should've got a burger. The "Italian" sauce is way too sweet. I'm thinking too much basil. The chicken didn't taste fresh I guess. I don't know how else to describe it. Our server was super busy, but still did a really good job. Again the burgers and fries are good so I would stick with that or the Pizza or Mexican next time.
