The Wine Room Kitchen & Bar is a restaurant, bar, and retail shop that first opened in Winter Park on Park Avenue where they have been in operation for 15 years. Their Delray Beach outpost which is their second location opened in spring of 2019 in the space formerly occupied by Caffe Martier. I'm so conflicted about this place. I met my friend for brunch and she has an incredible knack for picking the most unique and fantastic places for us to go. First off it is on one of my most favorite streets, Atlantic Ave. in one of my most favorite cities, Delray Beach. They don't have a parking lot but there is plenty of metered street parking and a free city lot around the corner. The dining space is absolutely stunning. There are two bars, a large dining area, a retail shop, and a speak easy. Best of all are the wine dispensers on all of the walls. Think soda machines but instead they dispense wine. If I ever win the lottery I am putting these in my mansion. It will be wine o'clock all day long. You don't have to wait for your server to come to your table, just get up and help your self. You purchase a wine card, load it with whatever amount you want, and then have fun trying whatever you want. Wines are organized by groups like type, sweet, country of origin, or managers choice. You can get three different pour sizes, a sample, a little more, or a glass. All wines are all priced differently. I sampled the Cape Kennedy Rose, Sweet as Candy! Scharzhofberger Spatlese, First wine of the Harvest Reisling, and the Sweet blood of Judas! all for $10 plus the $3 card cost. That day they were offering bottomless Rose for $15 for brunch which probably would have been a better value but I wanted to sample. If I had just stuck to the wine it would have been 5 stars. I should have just ordered the charcuterie board like I originally wanted. Instead I changed my mind and went with the $18 burger and that is where it all went down hill. First the food took forever to arrive. It took so long our server came to the table and bought me on the house a glass of her favorite wine which is also their most popular, The Blood of Judas. It was my favorite too, so fruity and delicious. A bottle is $20. By the time I finished the glass and the food still hadn't arrived I was starving and getting antsy. When it finally came it had the mayo on it which I requested to be left off. They fixed it but when I took a bite of the burger it was like biting into straight salt. I even had my friend taste it and she agreed. It was completely inedible. Our server brought the manager Flip to the table and he offered to make me a new one on the house. Of course when the new one arrived it had mayo again and was pretty raw. At that point I just wanted to leave. I feel like it was just my food that was bad, my friend enjoyed hers even though they brought her the wrong side. Flip really wanted to make it right but the relaxed Sunday vibe was ruined. My friend felt bad because I didn't have food. I felt bad because she felt bad. It just was not good. Everyone was so nice and attentive but my food was terrible. I have the wine card now so I will give them another shot for a happy hour. I definitely want to take my daughter to the Winter Park location next time I'm up there. It is such a great concept. I think and hope my experience with the food is a one off. read more

The cheese plate of the day for 29 dollars had few ridiculously small pieces of hard cheese only, the jam was tasteless, no Camembert or soft cheese and few pieces of unidentified food that I could not swallow Sorry but these people do not know what a cheese plate is about . My wife and I stopped to grab a few glasses of wine and appetizers before going to an event in Delray. I was impressed by the vast amount of wine selections they carried. We could walk in without a reservation and be seated right away. However, we were seated close to the door. The front seating area by the door was odd, with the walls beside the table and an elevator. It was like dining in a random hallway, but we made the best of it. However, there are many seats for larger parties in the back of the restaurant which has a more vibrant feel with a bar, wine room, and TVs. You need to purchase a pre-paid card to sample the wines displayed. Walk up to the wine of choice and select a $4,$8, or $15 pour. I like the concept and would suggest it to anyone coming here for a date. We ordered the French Green Beans, Fired Cauliflower, and Angry Shrimp. All were very delicious. Service is the worst. It was my first time I went near closing Friday 5/26/23 at 11pm with an hour left before close time and staff members were rude as we nearly waiting 15 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us. There were only 5 customers in the restaurant. When I asked for a card to use for self pour I got attitude from employee because I didn't know the process as it was my first time here, on top of that she automatically charged my card a 25% tip to give herself without my consent. Clearly there was no service because all I needed was her to place money on a card for self pour I didn't dine in and that experience was subpar service at best so I wouldn't have tipped on my own anyway. That was theft. Never again. Beware of staff members who charge your card more than you expect. read more

Went here the other night for the first time since they've revamped the place. Wow! Great menu, something for everyone. Love the selection of wine and now whiskey too. Great place for a group or a date. You can have a conversation and actually hear the person you're speaking to now. They also rearranged the seating which is so much better. Now the place flows. So we decided to head east by on the Ave, stumbled on the Wine Room Kitchen & Bar, and it was the BEST DECISION ever! Full of elegance, over 200 self-serving wine machines which offer a choice of three pour sizes, 2 bars (one is a bit hidden so don't miss it ), full service kitchen, a gorgeous glass cellar, and more! W I N E There's wine all around the location. I love that the selections literally begin as soon as you walk in. They really should just give you a glass upon entry Definitely purchase a wine card and enjoy the "arcade" of sipping pleasure. Now, my wine palette is not the best as I prefer "Sweet" but I sure enjoyed 3 glasses of "Blood of Judas" then after my meal a glass of Batasiolo Moscato D'asti then Royal Tokaji. Sooo delicious that a bottle was purchased from their retail store! F O O D Opted for the small bites and my selections were excellent! Can't wait to try entrees. Roasted Chicken Skillet had the perfect crisp finish tossed in a sweet chili bbq sauce then served with a blue cheese fondue. I'm not a fan of #bluecheese but this was the all quite tasty and I couldn't stop scooping but the fondue with each bite. Belgium Fries - Perfect with the chicken but great by itself with choices of 2 dipping sauces. Baked Great White Oysters - Ordered 2 then order another 2 Delicious hot crunchy goodness. Date night. Pretty good spot for a date night, it was a win by every standard. We wanted to go to a spot we knew was good. Greshka actually had been here before and said it was good. I was left with trusting her judgement. That's a tough one... Is started with great service. We got our reserved table right away. It was in the side wing where they had closed most the tables off for social distancing. It made it feel less stressful than the main floor where things were distanced but still plenty of people around. after ordering some dishes we grabbed a glass and went to do some tastings. The system at the wine room is to swipe a card that has money on it and you can try some of different wines. I had a solid Cabernet from Oregon and we had some other excellent wines as well. when back at the table we got at the food. The Octopus looked great but was a little tough. The make your own charcuterie was fun. We grabbed Jamon Serrano(ham), Taleggio(soft cheese excellent) Tete-de-moine(super thin slice hard cheese). Excellent food, wine and service! My first time was almost a year ago, when we stopped by for drinks. We were just having one so got a glass of wine at the bar but noticed the "serve-yourself"/ wine dispenser machines and said we had to be back to try that. And also to try their food. During Restaurant Month this year, they came out with a great and generous pre-fix menu, so my friends and I made reservation for a girl's night. Being a larger group, we decided to do bottles instead of the machines so, again, needed to go back for that. And I did! This time, went with my boyfriend for date night and he got us the wine card so we could go pick our own wine and have some fun choosing between the numerous wines from all over the world they offer. (They also have a full bar). Both times service was remarkable. I made a note to remember both our servers (Ionel M, and William B), since they were amazing at making us feel welcomed, entertained and made excellent recommendations. Also, Flip, the manager, who made sure to stop by our table and check that all was to our liking. Service was a big part of me going back, not just the wine. Now, going to the food... 1. Charcuterie boards. They have some already arranged on the menu, or you can mix and match from a list of meats and cheeses. You can ask the server for recommendations or you can ask them to talk to their cheese professional for them to build a board for you. In my opinion, and always being a great pairing with wine, any board is a must have here. 2. Tempura Green Beans. This was recommended by our server and just like he said wear delicious! Lightly breaded, just to give a bit of crunch, and the chili vinegar sauce on the side is so good! 3. Margherita flat bread - perfectly cooked crust, fresh cheese and basil, and good portion to share 4. Chipperbec Potato Chips - loved the crunch on these and how big they were. The honey blue cheese fondue tasted amazing, but it was too liquid for my taste. Would have been better if it had a bit more creaminess and stuck to the chips more. 5. Grilled Octopus - this one was a bit overcooked but tasty, also big portion and loved the tomato sauce on the bottom. 6. Beer Can Chicken - WOW! Big portion and delicious. The chicken was so tender and juicy. 7. Double Cut Pork Chop - I literally said "Oh My God it's a whole pig" when I saw it. Hug portion and presentation is excellent. Taste even better! Also very tender, juicy and so flavorful. The brussels sprout hash is perfect for this dish. 8. Homemade Ricotta doughnuts - warm, sweet, airy and come with a chocolate and a dulce de leche sauce to dip. Honestly a place I will keep coming to, and highly recommend to everyone! read more

I made a reservation for 7 people on a Saturday, when I arrived even without the complete party, they sit us right away, thumbs up because I didn't have to keep waiting for my group as in other restaurants. The waiter Saxon was amazing, he was very attentive and made us feel comfortable waiting for our group, we had the chicken skillet and it was very flavorful, we also ordered a charcuterie board (Max's Flight) which could be a little more complete, it was a little poor in quantity. I think this place is great. I love wine and enjoyed a few glasses there about a year ago, promising to come back for dinner with my family. I brought my elderly mother there to celebrate my last night with her after an extended stay. I had tried to make a reservation through Open Table, which this place does not use. I called them and left multiple messages that no one responded to. We then showed up, only to be treated coldly by the hostess on duty. She didn't smile once, and my mother got the vibe that she might not like elderly people. My mother has never said this to me about anyone, ever. This hostess did offer us a table set up in the front hallway, but my mom was uncomfortable there. The hostess was very unpleasant and we will not be returning regardless of the great selection of food and wine. We ended up going to a place next door. They were very nice with lovely oysters, appetizers, skirt steak and lot's of sparkling champagne. They checked on our meal multiple times and were very friendly. So since it's inception Felipe has served us at the bar. First trip was at happy hour in the evening on a Thursday. Yes happy hour starts after 10 pm on food. But happy hour everyday is great. I'll start by saying the staff is wonderful - educated, polite, happy to help or answer questions. BUT your one day a week where you allow underage drinkers to come and act like idiots is gross. It's a club. This pretty wine bar turns into an actual club on Wednesdays. Ladies night? These are not ladies, they are underaged girls who are slurring their words and ordering moscato. The owner should absolutely be ashamed of himself. Hiring security? If you need 3 security guards at your wine bar, you're doing something wrong. My advice? Create a dress code. There goes half of the underaged people at least. I'm honestly shocked at the cash grab. If you need money this bad, then change your food menu. Don't bring in 19 year old college girls for old men (and other underaged boys), to buy drinks for. Bleh. Super sad, because you had Montrachet as an option. We showed up at 9pm on a Saturday night without reservations and they were accommodating and found us a seat. Really cool concept, love the diversity in wine selection and the ability to pay for a taste of wine I might not otherwise have to option to try. They also had a pretty good DJ playing a nice selection fi deep house/edm which we liked. Our server was very attentive and even gave us a tour since we were noobs to the place. I got a nice cheese and charcuterie board which I loved. Fiancé got the veal chop which he said was good but small (looked big to me but what do I know). The restaurant has a cool ambiance but out of all of the dining rooms I love sitting in the "speakeasy" bar area. The actual bar is not open right now but the room is still dim lighting and has a cool feel to it. The charcuterie boards are a must try, they have a whole menu dedicated to the wine and cheese. One word. Amazing!!!! We had an amazing time here. The receptionist was responsive and gave us choices in what table we would get for our reservation. Our sever, Ryan, was PHENOMENAL!!!! His expertise in wine is unmatched!!! He ensured we under how everything worked and gave us personalized wine recommendations based on our current likes and dislikes. This place is incredible. Coming from Cali I go to a lot of vineyards. This is so much better/more convenient. I don't know why the owners haven't franchised this yet! Five stars to Wine Room as my top pick for an informal date night or girls night in Delray Beach. My partner and I visited Wine Room during the holiday season and had an unforgettable experience. I was already a fan of Wine Room as having fond memories of the location in Winter Park so my expectations for Delray were high. Wine Room is situated in the middle of the Ave and yes parking is a pain, but as I say in all my reviews for busy areas, Uber is your friend. Wine Room is exactly as it sounds, an extensive selection of wines from around the world available for tasting and purchase. The tasting part is modern, funky and fun as you get to try 2oz up to 9oz samples of wines in machines (wine dispensers!) separated by type, geographical region, and Wine Room's personal recommendations. Jared is a manager who noticed how much fun I was having with the dispensers and came over and started to explain some of the wines further. He also recommended some delicious wines based on my taste preferences. Another manager showed me some different wines based on what I had sampled and pretty much knew my palette for wine by just a few minutes of conversation. Wine Room's staff definitely knows their grapes! They are friendly and not pretentious at all so novice wine drinkers like myself, they will help you widen your preferences without trying to sell you some hotty totty junk. I highly recommend taking advantage of the fact that you can create your own charcuterie. With all the wine, you'll need some soft-ripened cheese, Coppa (most order!) and Marcona almonds to wash it down with. There is also a nice dinner menu for those that formally want to sit down and eat. Although it is a restaurant, this is an interactive one, so ordering something that will allow you to still walk around, mingle and have some fun is very much suggested. I got to try 4-5 different wines by going with the middle pour or smallest pour. Awesome deal!! The food was fantastic!! We had the charcuterie board, roasted cauliflower, brussel sprouts, wild mushroom flatbread, sweet potato gnocchi, and the honey crisp apple salad. The concept of tasting different wines is always welcome and tonight's special was that the restaurant matched whatever you put on your wine card! Woo hoo! Aside from that, the food was, as usual, interesting, unique, decadent and plentiful. We tried 7 different items which included a few different flatbreads, sliders (delicious!), potato chips (righteous), bacon skewers (outrageous!) and topped it all off with an order of beignets! Food was of outstanding quality, wine selection, even by the glass on the menu (outside of the 200+ you can sample with a wine card) were very good, and the service was very good. Our waiter, Marcus, was particularly gracious and patient, helping us select good cold cuts and cheeses. And the cheese selection was incredible too, very high quality stuff. I didn't order much off the main menu but everything that passed by me in the waiters hands looked fantastic. I went with a friend for a girls night out on saturday night at 10PM which I guess is when late night happy hour starts for 50% off flatbreads and I think for 50% off beer, liquor & wine by the glass. They're open until 2am on weekends and 12am Sunday through Thursday. You can either dine in or purchase a 'wine card' that you can keep and refill. They recommended purchasing one since there's an activation fee. I went with a friend and figured we both would be back so we purchased them individually. The hostess thoroughly explained the process and told us about the most popular wine. Started with $30 each and moved on to the wine tasting machines to try out their selection. The machines allow you to choose from 1, 2.5 or 5 pour sizes. They have the wines organized by wine type,countries and unique wines. We ordered the flatbread but unfortunately the kitchen closes at 12:30 and we weren't able to get it so the manager, Anna and another supervisor kindly came by to apologize. Things happen and I really appreciated the gesture and they offered to bring a charcuterie board. If I could give a 10 star review I would. This place is gorgeous and has a great gimmick with the self serve wine tasting. It has potential for being an excellent experience... BUT... The music was ATROCIOUS!!! There was a DJ spinning the worst techno music I've ever heard and too loudly. I don't mind some techno music here and there but we could not even talk to the bartender over the music and it was horrible repetitive techno music the entire time we were there. The music does not fit the ambience of this place, and it made our experience absolutely horrible. I can't imagine that management would allow that type of music in such a lovely restaurant. Not particularly expensive, awesome place to go to for some drinks and apps with friends. The food is really good, but I wouldn't eat a full dinner there because it's more tapas sized. The cool thing about the wine is it's totally self service - you pick your portions, you don't have to wait, and you don't have to pay tip on the charge for the wine (only the food really).
