Honestly wasn't what I expected. For a Vino bar I was hoping for more of a selection of wine. This is more of a fast casual restaurant than a wine bar. Their online menu is also NOT the same as the one you get when you sit down! So don't bother looking at that before you go! Other than the atmosphere and the slow service the food was really good! We had wings which are huge and the burger was cooked to perfection with a fried egg on top which was AMAZING!

It's the third name change in four years, but if you were here before the name recently changed from Attilio's to The Winged Bear, you won't notice much of a difference in the interior space. Its exactly the same as of now. So is the menu -lots of pizzas, appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, grinders, Italian entrees, and salads. Our take-out order included a very nice Baby Spinach Salad for $10.95 (Baby Spinach with Grilled asparagus, red onion, bacon, toasted pine nuts, egg, raspberry vinaigrette). It was a big portion that tasted great and easily fed both of us. We went with a large pizza ($16.95) base and added on meatballs and green peppers for $2 a pop. We have so many great pizza shops in the area (E&D, Little City, Da Capo, First and Last) and the Winged Bear's pizza was certainly competitive with the heavyweight champs I mentioned. The pizza was gigantic with 8 very large slices. Plenty of sauce, plenty of cheese, plenty of toppings (the meatballs were very good). Maybe the crust was a teense thicker than what I've become used to, but let me be clear -the pizza was very good.

We tried the Big Mac, pepperoni, and ricotta bolognese pizzas from here for takeout and it was ok. They forgot the special sauce and lettuce on one of our pies and not too much pepperoni, but it's generally less expensive than other pizza joints in the area. Tenders were tasty but not very crispy to go too. Next time I think we'll try the grinders Or sandwiches instead.

Cute pizza box messages. Great mushroom and meat lovers pizza. Both are size small which is quite big for 2 people...no complaints there

Good customer service when delivering and consistently good pizza. This has been my go-to for delivery and they have not disappointed. We have also ordered their sandwiches and pasta. The quality and taste of those items were also consistently good as well.

My family had a Groupon so we thought we would try this place out. It was definitely a good choice. We ordered the meatball pizza and the cheese was so yummy and gooey. It tasted very fresh and the meatballs were scrumptious. We also had the Caesar salad and they were really nice big pieces of Parmesan grated on top of it and it was a portion that I fed myself my husband and my daughter. The waitress was very nice and she was attentive and we received our food promptly. We're definitely going to start using this place in town as one of our pizza rotation nights.

The apollos sign is a great touch

New name and some exciting new menu items. Don't get to get to the restaurant as often as I used to but they deliver so that is just fine by us. Happy to keep supporting local family owned businesses. I am really enjoying the new bbq and taco Tuesday items!

    "Shrimp" "Bacon" pizza

Ordered a large "shrimp" "bacon" pizza and it seems they were running out of the two principle ingredients. The base white pizza is still delicious -- my dad and I devoured most of it -- and while the economy may be tough, come on man!! While I'm here on Yelp, our last order had rotten avocados on it. Strike two and you're out, says my dad, and we'll be sticking with Little City.

Did you run out of toppings?

While I was on the call with The Iron Horse staffer who checked if they could accommodate us, five more people said they wanted in. So, my party expanded to 20. The staffer said "No problem. See you at 8pm." Ninety minutes later, I called to update our numbers again, and we were up to 28. Ugh. The staff said, again, "No problem. See you at 8pm." A few more people heard of the gathering, so our total group was 32 people. With just a few hours notice. On a Saturday night. On Valentine's Day. That was the first bit of magic, and the waitstaff continued with friendly, fast, and accurate service of all the kids and parents. The final act was the food, which was outstanding. The portions were huge and delicious. (I had the wings, and "hot" was definitely hotter than most other places. So, order accordingly!) So, on behalf of our team, we wanted to extend an incredible "Thank you" to everyone at The Iron Horse and (in hockey terms) stick taps for an incredibly well done evening!

The bartender there was so helpful with my food order as I asked what he recommended and he gave me numerous choices to go with. He suggested the wings and pizza which I took his advice. I ordered the 4 boneless wings for $5.00 along with the medium size pizza for $17. I went with the boom boom sauce on the boneless wings and i really loved the flavor and fresheners of the wings. The iron horse also makes their own blue cheese dressing. I also went with the thin all American style pizza crust 1/2 bbq chicken and 1/2 buffalo chicken as I couldn't decide and wanted to try both. I feel the Buffalo chicken would be more flavorful with their homemade blue cheese dressing drizzled on it too. I also ordered their $1 slice pepperoni pizza to go for my kids. I really enjoyed everything i ordered. I especially love their boneless wings they make and if you haven't tried yet the boom boom sauce you must. It's a combination of chipotle sauce and ranch dressing. Definitely will be back to try more food during happy hour. The place has a good size bar area and offers great specials for drinks. They just opened the patio that they have as well. There are other locations available to visit. Unionville , Bristol.

A staple in the Simsbury community for many many years, I think over 60!…read more My friend made the journey up from Farmington and met me for dinner here, and it was a wonderful experience From the moment we walked in, we were greeted friendly and seated Our friendly server came over and took our order for drinks. We both ordered pink lemonades. I was craving a burger so I had a 1/3 pound burger and then included a sauce and toppings from like a McDonald's Big Mac burger. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato mayonnaise, and onion We ordered a large order of onion rings to accompany our burger After a 5 to 7 minute, wait the burgers arrived! My burger arrived, exactly as I ordered a medium rare. This burger was hand formed 1/3 pound of fresh hamburger. It was so juicy. It was also grilled with love. The toppings were spot on would like having a big Mac. I loved the soft roll. So fresh so spongy so delicious. The onion rings were on point, and there were so many in my order. I took some home. These are some really good rings. The pink lemonade was so tart and delicious ice cold. It was perfect on this warm day. Another great experience in this institution called Antonio's! With so many choices around. The best bang for the buck is right here, in Simsbury. Always clean restrooms parking is a breeze, and I didn't check out the new bar connected to this place but someday I will We were treated like family, and it was such a welcoming and perfect experience

Fantastic Hidden Gem in Simsbury!…read more For Father's Day, when my husband Dave & I dined at Antonio's Restaurant in Simsbury, it was once again a delightful experience from start to finish! The moment we walked in, we were greeted by an incredibly interesting 1950s and 1960s decor. It's filled with vintage nostalgia, giving the entire space a unique, warm, and inviting family atmosphere. There's so much fun memorabilia to look at while you wait for your meal! We enjoyed the box of trivia questions waiting for us at our table. They offer a remarkably wide range of homestyle cooking choices, so there's truly something for everyone on the menu. Every single dish we have ever tried was absolutely delicious. The meatballs were plump, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Our portions ( of salmon & locally grown string beans for me and spaghetti for Dave) were generous, and everything tasted like a comforting, high-quality, home-cooked meal. The attention from our server, Mela, was unmatched. Warn & courteous without being overbearing. She was an outstanding server. Antonio's truly goes the extra mile to ensure you have a wonderful dining experience. Insider Tips: Make sure to look around at the wall displays and historic decor elements while you're there--it really adds to the charm! This has easily become our favorite spot, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a wonderful atmosphere. The apple crisp, French onion soup, and shepherd's pie, plus the atmosphere and service, keep us coming back.
