Updated as of 08/22/26- Gave this place another try. My experience this go round was disappointing. Came with my hubby and our toddler. We were sat quickly, we ordered shortly after looking over the menu. We were told the sushi would be 20-30 minutes because they had one chef and a big party sat down before us, not a problem we understood and ordered anyway. I got my son an order of plain chow mein .... It was very bland and the noodles were overcooked. Luckily my toddler ate it anyways. My hubby and I both got their sushi dinner special A which was 2 rolls an order of nigiri and came with soup, edamame, or salad so I got the miso soup and a side of edamame and my hubby got miso soup. We got waters to drink. And their water tasted weird like dirty tap water or something so we were gonna order sodas and a juice for our son.... Waited for our server to come to the table so we could order.... He didn't come check on us at all. So I went up to their to go counter and ordered our drinks. They were out of apple juice so we chose orange juice for our little and it was lukewarm. He didn't drink it. We got our appetizers... the edamame tasted like dirt, covered in table salt. The miso soup was actually delicious but the cups were so full they were spilling. My son spilled my husbands soup all over so we cleaned it up, had to go back to the to go counter to ask for more napkins.... Because our server never came back to check on us. We got it cleaned up so crisis averted... Our sushi came out and one of the rolls I ordered was HUGE so much rice! The smaller roll I ate one piece and the crystal shrimp in it tasted like it was cooked awhile ago maybe that morning I'm unsure but it tasted off and wasn't a good thing. I didn't eat anymore of that roll as my instinct told me not to. The other roll was good, the nigiri was good but lacked flavor. I got the upside down shrimp with crab. My hubbys nigiri looked old and smelled off so he didn't eat his yellowtail. The rolls he got were small and again lacked flavor. We waited and waited for our server to come back to the table and it took about 20 minutes for him to come back- bring us 2 boxes and the check. No refills, no taking or any dishes. So we paid and left. We clean up after our kiddo when we go out and do our best to ensure the table is easy to clean for them. But we will not be back. It's a shame because it used to be so delicious and the staff used to be so nice! Unsure what happened but if you are looking to go I would recommend going elsewhere. I saw ads for The Wok off of Oddie in Reno, but I had never gone...until Saturday with my Mom. Five Star. What a nice restaurant! Excellent Food, Great service and very nice ambiance. We ordered lunch specials and the cup of egg flower soup was big and hot. The walnut Shrimp was so delicious with the biggest Shrimp's I have ever had. You also had a choice of rice and Chow mein. It was fantastic. It was on Saturday and the shopping center was buzzing with activity, the restaurant was a lovely Asian atmosphere and we will definitely cone back again. Stopped in for dinner today. The place was quite busy, music pretty loud, lights quite dim. Service was good, my waitress was very pleasant and my food came pretty quickly. The menu is more about half sushi, but they have a pretty good selection of typical Chinese dishes. I love black bean sauce, and wears in the mood for something a bit lighter after being on the road all day so opted for the shrimp & asparagus in black beans sauce. Plenty of shrimps and asparagus, but the latter was a little tough. The asparagus stalks were quite thin, and the thinner ones can sometimes be a bit tough. The flavor of the sauce was excellent, with plenty of white rice to soak it up! Heat level was perfect - broke out in a sweat, but not too hot to eat. The breading was soggy and falling apart To make things worse, the rice was dry, and the vegetables were barely warm. The portion looked generous but only for the rice shrimp not so much , but after two bites I honestly didn't want to finish it I ended up throwing it in the trash where it belonged . I don't usually complain about food, but this was bad enough that I left most of it uneaten. Definitely not worth the price. Really great place in Fallon for sushi or Chinese food. I have had both but today I came here with a family member for a quick bite to eat, sushi a la carte. Lunch AYCE is pretty comparable to most, but I ordered a couple of roll and that was enough to fill me up. Service was great. Not too busy on a weekday afternoon. It's great that Fallon has this restaurant here and brings a diverse selection of food to our little town. Can't beat that. Don't even have to go into the big city. Called 73 times in the span of an hour. If it wasn't because my guests really wanted Chinese food I would had stopped calling after the second time. I had called earlier that day to see if I needed to make reservations but I was informed the dinning room was closed due to limited staffing. Only take out was available. Once I decided to call and order for the take out the phone was constantly busy. After 73 calls I came to the conclusion there was no way they were that busy and the phone must be off the hook so I drove to the restaurant to place the order and wait there as well. When I arrived I asked the person at the counter if their phone was off the hook and he said "yes, we are so busy we took it off the hook" wouldn't it be better to answer the phone and tell customers something? The food is good considering this is the only Chinese restaurant in Fallon and 1 of maybe 10 restaurants in Fallon so options are limited. Time to take my order:17mins Menu is somewhat pricey. Ordered poke bowl, wok wings, sliced pork and warm sake. Wall next to table are slightly dirty. Wings came out first. It's a new menu item and I would give it a 10/10 for flavor but the side sweet chili sauce doesn't go well with the wok wings. The poke bowl came out next and I wasn't a fan of the rice seasoning (smoked/ mesquite flavor). The fish had a bit to much soy sauce on them. If you've had their sea weed salad or any of their mixed "crab" , all they did was just add a scoop to the poke bowl. In my opinion it's not worth it's price at $13.95 for a regular bowl. Lastly I had the sliced pork( it's just Char Siu for those who know about these foods)which is a "appetizer" but is more like an actual dish that needs rice or salad to pair. Well, the price has gone up since I was last here 2 years ago from $15.95 to $17.95 for all you can eat sushi lunch. You can go for the dinner option and just pay more, but all that does, is give you access to some more rolls. We arrived 15 minutes after opening and the place was getting filed already with people eating sushi or Chinese food on the left side. We were able to sit at the sushi bar and the chef was very attentive. I'm glad we got the Asian chef .... hey, it is sushi ya know! He spoke English fine and kept the orders coming as fast as we could eat them. The waters were kept full by the server girl. We started with an appetizer of miso soup and the poppers. The poppers weren't Japanese at all, more like what you might order in a bar, deep fried peppers filled with cream cheese. The miso was decent. Then we just started ordering nigiri orders, of almost all the offerings. The hamachi yellow tail was actually exceptional. This chef did the hand rolls well and knew what he was doing. Actually contrary to other reviews, I though the fish quality was equal to any AYCE sushi place in the Sacramento area or Reno. How the sushi comes out is up to the skills of the chef. The nigiri cuts were actually generous, not that see thru little pieces on big blobs of rice like some places do. Tho, not outrageous generous like in Vegas, but that's Vegas! I would have no problem coming here again and having sushi. Parking was easy, but if you have a large long vehicle, you cannot park on Main Street, due to diagonal parking. 5 stars, cause this IS as good as it gets in Fallon for sushi. read more

We managed to get a reservation on Christmas Eve. The place was clean and well-spaced between other tables to follow social distancing protocols. The first waitress who took our drink order had a real bad attitude. She was pretty rude to my husband when he said hi to her, we were shocked. Finally had a night out with the family. We have a 6 months old we were seated in the back which was perfect. We ordered noodles for our daughter and sushi for us. We came in and they never stated it would be over 45 min wait for sushi. We don't order food and had our noodles rushed. We have been enjoying Chinese at The Wok since moving to Fallon, until tonight!! We ordered: Honey Walnut Shrimp, the sauce was gooy, the shrimp stuck together with globs of mayo between each shrimp! There were lots of yummy walnut but not enough to compensate for the poor preparation. Mu Shu Pork looked like a brown glop in the middle of the take out container + the pancakes were breaking & the hoisin sauce was watered down. Wok Style Orange Chicken was dry!! Singapore Style Rice Noodles were soggy, way too spicy with no curry!! Wor Wonton Noodle Soup was good but needed ore broth. So its really rare that anybody comes across a really good chiense restaurant; and even rarest when it has chinese food and sushi at the same time! Had some friends raving about this place and how we all had to go check it out, well they were right. For starters, I would recommend making reservations, there were several people waiting outside, if it wasnt because we had reservations we would have been waiting for quite some time. I wasnt too sure about their sushi, so i had the happy family. Portions were a lot larger than I was expecting, and the flavor left me impressed. I did eat a little bit if everything from everybodys plate who ordered sushi and i will also said it was really good!
