I did my research before coming in to get a handle on what the YG does best. Burgers and the Berebere wings, and an extensive and rare draft beer list. I never had a mead beverage before but I went with a local mead on draft (Queen City Peacemaker) which was really good and I recommend everyone give their mead a try! It's sweet (not surprising as it's made with honey, duh) but not too sweet. It's balanced. I tried the burger but not the wings, though I wish I had ordered them. I went with the Blue insider and asked for "rare" temp, but what came out was well done. The burger was very round (not a patty) almost lacrosse-ball size and therefore was difficult to eat. The quality of the veggies was very good, but I can't say the meat was super enjoyable because it was overcooked with actual burnt spots but even still it seemed like the fat content was very low... which means low flavor. The most disappointing part about my meal was the fact the the blue cheese which is supposed to be stuffed into the meat wasn't throughout the burger. I didn't get to the blue cheese until the last few bites of my meal but by that time I was too full to finish it. I did enjoy their French fries. COVID-19 Review: a few strikes against The Yelling Goat due to lack of COVID-19 consideration. 1) lack of staff? / mismanaged staff- I am thinking that they understaffed due to COVID but there were some serious issues from a "dining out" perspective: I enjoyed the company of a coworker for about 3 hrs at a table in this establishment and was only offered drinks at the time of arrival. Her water was bone dry by the time we left. No one cleared our plates until we were about to leave and the fruit flies were hard to ignore. 2) Proximity to staff. I was sat immediately but was positioned next to the kitchen door. Therefore I was exposed to all of their staff several times within 4-5 feet of them. I normally do not allow myself to be sat near kitchens and doors due to noise and distractions, but I let it go. I quickly regretted my silence. 3) Their bus boy wore his mask wrong. His nose hung out the entire time. 4) outside seating is possible but seems to go quickly. I arrived at 6:30pm on a Wednesday and had to eat inside because the patio was full. Though, I am still puzzled as to why they felt sitting us near the kitchen when all of the staff was in proximity was a COVID- responsible idea. read more

Tried Yelling Goat for the first time last Friday. Was overwhelmed with the number of menus they had. A regular menu, pizza menu, specials menu, drink menu...a little unnecessary. All 4 of us literally got 4 menus. 16 menus on one table. Plus, they had more menus already on the table in the holder. The server was great. However, he didn't write down our order (which of course always worries me), and in return we received the wrong item. Ordered a spinach and goat cheese pizza to split with another person at the table. When the pizza came out it had the items we wanted, as well as bacon and carmelized onions. We were starving and the food took long enough, so didn't bother mentioning it to the server. But we were very disappointed. The 2 other people at my table seemed to enjoy their food. We had a party of six and ordered a variety of dishes from pasta to corned beef to burgers. There is a pizza menu which is on the table and separate from the main menu so be careful not to overlook it. The server took our orders without writing anything down which was impressive, but one of the dishes came out wrong. The rolled Lasagna was very tasty but it was a little cold on the inside and yet the plate was very hot. We had bourbon barbecued wings and calamari for appetizers. The wings were delicious but the calamari was overdone having been left in the dryer too long. Had the deep dish pizza which was edible at best. While waiting for our food, I observed the serve staff wiping silverware while coughing, playing with hair and wiping faces/mouths. One individual carried out two large bags of trash through the dining area. Towels were picked up off the floor and used again, and other unsavory sights. The Health Department would be working overtime at this place, although at first glance it looks very presentable. It's not often you go to a restaurant that has a large menu for both drinks and food, and can manage both. I've been here numerous times and have tried numerous dishes and have not been disappointed. Salads, pizza, appetizers, burgers. Although I've never had them I've heard from many that the beriberi wings are what you want if you are a wing fan. The large array of beer is really fun as well. Had reservations for 6:30pm Friday the 18th for 4. After getting our drinks we ordered 4 fish fry, (2 beer batter,2 cajun broil) Our waitress apologized several times for our meals being late. Several tables that sat well after us were already eating at this point. After 2 hours our meals were brought out. I went to Yelling Goat this evening with my family. I ordered the small caesar salad and added steak. I have had this salad before over the past year and it was great. When I got the steak salad this time, the steak looked like steak-umms and overcooked. It had a greasy look and taste. I asked the waitress if this was steak she said yes, Flank. Food quality is low. We are regulars here and they can't seem to stay consistent. Now they are serving the food cold. Atmosphere is not as great either. The music is loud which make the customers talk louder and with the tin ceiling tiles it just a head ache waiting to happen. The worst part is is that it is music that most normal people in this say and age would not listen too. I belongs in a WWII Museum as background music. Last is the staff and the prices! This was my first time here, and it's doubtful I'll be back. I ordered a fish fry, and it was just okay. The fish was beer battered and bland. Desperately needed salt. It came with rye bread, coleslaw and macaroni salad-also bland. The French fries were the worst I've ever had-dry and cold-and I mean Sahara dry. My husband ordered the BereBere seasoned chicken fingers and he let me try. They were tasty, but definitely a unique flavor profile-not for everyone. Also accompanied by the Sahara dry cold French fries. My husband ordered bottled beers and they were fine. I ordered a gin cocktail that was supposed to use Hendrick's gin-conspicuously absent from my glass! There was a cheap well gin-very easy to distinguish from the lovely floral character of Hendrick's. While walking through the restaurant, it was very poorly organized-couldn't tell where to check in. The decor was also rather unorganized and creepy. There were what appeared to be mud wasp nests above the bar. Also, upon looking it over, I saw no distinctive Hendrick's gin bottles anywhere on the bar-which might explain why it wasn't in my cocktail. Overall, we were underwhelmed. I mean-how can you mess up French fries! So basic! The service was not awful, restrooms were okay. We observed tables being cleaned properly. If you're a vegetarian, they've got you covered. Gluten Free? Not a problem, you have the same choices as everyone else. The service was genuine and kind and the FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING. No joke. For an unassuming place in the burbs of Buffalo, this kitchen could hold its own in any major city. The food is fresh, ingredients are clearly top shelf, and presentation is outstanding. I tried The Yelling Goat last night for the first time! It has outdoor Patio seating , BYOB and dog friendly! The service was very attentive and accommodating . There were 1$ off happy hour specials. Nice pours of wine. Very extensive menu! From entrees, pizza, appetizers, mexican food! So many unique pizza combinations to choose from. We were very happy with our food choices. I recommend that any potential patron take a look at each end every negative review and the subsequent responses from the owner. Not once is a serious complaint or issue actually addressed, even in the slightest. Trying the Yelling Goat with three good friends for the first time on Friday evening was a mix of good and not so good interactions. I have to say that the server was more than enthusiastic to suggest the many craft brews on the beer menu and also offered tastings of new additions. After receiving our sufficient sized portions of fish and pizzas, we were ready to continue celebrating two of our birthdays. We opened a small birthday cake that we brought in to add to our celebration, and were immediately told that we were going to be charged $10 for bringing in the dessert. I guess it is somehow breaking the health code. I can understand the concern over our violation, but i feel that the whole situation could been handled much more discreetly and sensitively. I'm sorry to say that i will not be back and would probably not recommend this place due to the way this was handled. P.S. Had the Bacon Cheese Burger with Fries. My brother had the Bacon Burger with Egg with Fries and my sister-in-law had the Reuben Sandwich with Fries. Was amazed at the amount of food for the $$. $8.95 for my Bacon Cheddar Burger. It was so big, I had to take half home. Asked the server how big the Burger was . . . 12 oz. of chopped Sirloin . . . I would call that a Steak Burger. Wow, it was so delicious . . best I have ever had. The Reuben sandwich was also huge. Too big for her, so she took home 1/2 too. Tried a piece of her sandwich and the Corned Beef was so tender, it almost melted in the mouth. I strongly recommend that if you are looking for a great burger, you go here. We went on Thursday, which is Mexican night. Service is very friendly. It took awhile to get our drinks but once that was done and out of the way the service was very good. My wife ordered the taco platter and I had the enchilada platter. In a region not known for having great Mexican food, I was very pleased. No waters, nothing. Not even a waitress stopping to say something about being busy and they would be over soon. Not even any type of acknowledgment that we were there. Nothing! We shouldn't have to flag down someone to acknowledge our presence. We felt 1/2,hour was sufficient time to wait, so then we bailed. Hello Laurie, it's not a matter of "hiding behind social media", my wife and I have approximately 50 yrs combined in the restaurant industry. The oil and balsamic which was served to us in a soup cup should not have been put on the table. It was not olive oil, it was a clear neutral oil. In a different response you gave someone else you stated that you tell the kitchen to purposely under season the food. If I had read that prior to going there we wouldn't have gone. The food should be served with the intent that the patron shouldn't have to add anything. I'd be happy to come back to discuss it but I dont think it would change anything. read more

We had heard great things about the Yelling Goat previously and as we moved just around the corner decided we would give it a shot. Unfortunately our Babysitter cancelled on us last minute but we wanted to have a "special night in" so decided that we would order and eat in. With the Yelp eat24 app we could order online and they give you an ETA when it would be ready and you can track your order which is super helpful. I arrived a few minutes before and my order was ready within a few minutes of being there, so pretty much on-time. I ordered the Goat Cheese / Bacon Pizza, my wife ordered the Truffle Burger and we ordered a wedge salad to share. All of the food was clearly prepared fresh for us before we got there, and was EXTREMELY tasty, there was some grease but quite frankly its bar food and we also didn't exactly order the healthiest things going. My pizza was awesome and my wife commented even that the crust was phenomenal, also the Burger impressed her and she's not exactly the biggest beef fan. All in all with a tip the bill came to just over $50 and was well worth it, we'll definitely be eating here again and hopefully this time we can actually experience dining in, but if takeout / eat at home is anything to go by I don't expect to be disappointed. read more

Tonight I went to the yelling goat for dinner before the opera house. I asked the waitress how long the wait for food would be because we were in a rush. She was very rude and said not long. I asked for a drink and said do you want a sample. She was short with us. We waited half an hour for are appetizers and when it came out the buss boy cleaning the table next to us sprayed cleaner and it went all over us and our food. The waitress said she would comp our meal for not eating it but we needed to pay for the two drinks we got. The staff was rude and very disappointing.
